Drive around, shoot people, and sometimes smile while you're doing it - that's Gangstar: New Orleans in a nut shell.

Despite a new free to play formula and some different mechanics from previous games, Gangstar New Orleans doesn’t do enough to take the series to the next level.

Like all free-to-play games in this general genre, there are oodles of in-app purchases on offer that can help you progress faster and give you something to brag about to other players through the game’s world chat option (which feels more than a little outdated in 2017). Some of the purchases come with a hefty price tag so you’ll probably want to avoid browsing the store while exhausted. At least with this one you probably won’t have to worry about the little folks in your life racking up big bills – Gangstar New Orleans is very much for adults only.

An uninspired GTA clone afflicted by poor controls and by the very bad idea of creating an open world game on a tablet.

There's really nothing redeeming about Gangstar New Orleans. It's a bad GTA game with no personality, terrible free-to-play mechanics, representation issues, and a boatload of bugs. Just don't bother with this game at all. There's no reason to.

i don't see how gameloft spent 3 years in the making of this

    Pros
    Good open world design
    Nice variety of cars
    plenty of weapons
    overall ok game play

    Cons
    The characters
the story is Terrible in comparison with Vegas
    Microtransactions

This game isn't what many ios-Android fan expected it to be and failed on delivery
However like Vegas it hopefully will get updates To improve and add content
But still micro transactions and ads are filling this game So we'll have to wait and see

I tested the beta back then. The game was a lot of fun there.
Then the missions were updated and everything changed.
New currency, more difficult missions and energy bars, which have been used up with every mission and can only be recharged very slowly or by using real money.

    CRITICISM AND CONCLUSION:
Quests, so difficult that they can hardly be passed and an "online" experience, yes, only "online" as - QUASI - please have a stable internet connection to the game servers, otherwise you cannot play it.

You play in an open world that couldn't be emptier. Because apart from the districts that you can conquer and a few NPCs that are supposed to fill the emptiness, there is no real attraction to play this gangstar part.
In addition, the graphics were not better, rather worse, due to the open release.

The missions are repetitive and the design and animations of the individual characters are too static and monotonous (the predecessor alone does this better (e.g. the last mission of the story)). Only the encounter with E-Man from the previous part was appealing.

What has become of the gangstar franchise that was once a pioneer in the open world experience on the mobile market with such good offshoots as the predecessor "Gangstar Vegas" or "Gangstar Rio"? (I play and played both parts very much myself)
I consider Gangstar New Orleans aflop and hope for a Gangstar Rio remake or something similar.

    MY WISHES FOR THE FUTURE:
For the next gang star I would like a real, synchronized online mode ala Minecraft, Modern Combat or GTA and a more sophisticated gameplay experience and also a purchase price of up to € 20 or € 30 to get rid of the in-game shop and the slowley recharging energy bars.
