Great fun! Good back story, that should have been in the original. Some small over embellishments here and there. Worth a single watch on a good Oled in dolby vision.

Would have been nice in wide screen.

No, but it maybe be one of my personal favorites. This is the definitive Justice League movie that I have always wanted since I was a kid. Every frame in this movie is beautiful, the new color grading by Snyder is far superior than Whedon’s over-saturated mess in the originally released film from 2017. The visuals combined with the cinematography make for one breathtaking cinematic experience. All the characters are given the depth that was missing in 2017, especially Miller's Flash and Fischers Cyborg, Each character has a part to play in the story and no time is wasted with them saying dumb, unnecessary jokes. The action is a lot more engaging in this film too. My problem with most superhero films is that the action is always cut up in multiple shots and it can be difficult to see what’s going on. Here we get wide and long camera shots with a new musical score by Tom Holkenborg added on top. Although, Wonder Woman's new Amazonian theme is overused and plays a total of 14 different times throughout the film. It's good to hear, but it gets annoying after awhile. Trust me, you start to notice the same hymn after the third time. There are still many scenes that feel unnecessary and they can go on longer than needed, especially with so much slow motion, which Snyder is famous for. Though, Steppenwolf gets more depth, he still remains a big cgi villain that is hard to care about. Flash’s comic relief goes a bit overboard in some areas, and the final 20 minutes of the film, though interesting, really drag the movie out. For a nearly four hour movie, The Snyder Cut flows very well. If you don't have the time to watch it in it's entirety, it is split into 6 parts and an epilogue. Overall, Zack Snyder's Justice League is what many fans and I have hoped for and more. Expand

Zack Snyder, who directed it, had to leave during post production after his daughter died. Joss Whedon was brought in to rework it considerably (to overall negative response). HBO let Snyder spend $70 million to create his version that clocks in at 4 hours! The plot doesn’t really matter: A group superheroes (Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg, Aquaman and the Flash) joins forces to fight the latest universe-destroying villain. These movies are all about action and this one’s loaded. The dialogue is streamlined, character development gets a nod and there’s almost no humor (Ezra Miller’s Flash provided the few fun moments). This makes way for plenty of flashy, well-staged fights and spectacular, impressive effects. Snyder’s version is very different and much better than the original. Sure, it’s long, but just think of it as a 4-part series and strap in for superhero excitement. Expand

I'm glad that Zack Snyder got to make his version of the movie, and the fans got to see it. Steppenwolf was much improved, but still never came close to the impact that Thanos did in the Avengers Infinity movie. But, he looked better, for sure. All in all, I think it is solid, but too long. I can't see myself ever watching it again. That's a shame too. DC deserves much better than what they've been given as a whole. Expand

A much more coherent story - the long running time is needed to tell all the back stories semi-properly - and a much improved villain the main upgrades. Snyder's pompous and dramatic delivery is a matter of taste, but at least it is a much more complete vision and delivery then the tone deaf previous rendering.

A good cinematic rendering of a comics book world and story. Very entertaining, even if Superman is simply too strong to make it really suspenseful, which is a real shame.

But at the end of the day, it far exceeds the original and truly gives vindication to Zack's vision of the franchise, which is enough for me to pay and support him. I was honestly expecting this to be a 4-hour version of a bad film made worse with longer cuts and darker/grittier tone, and more lore to the uninteresting mother box stuff.

To my surprise, Zack was not only able to make everything more interesting and engaging but represents the DCE's strong suit; its characters, powers with Godlike abilities, and **** Darkseid are so awe-inspiring.

More character depth actually has us care about the cast and some substantial scenes that rival stuff from the MCU, like actual use of their abilities. After being burned and fatigued of superhero films since Age of Ultron, I'm finally, and actually excited to see what happens to the league, and a proper introduction to Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter, and How in the **** they're going to deal with Darkseid (Better than Thanos), Zack has achieved something I never expected. Although the film has its issues, and the tacked-on scenes at the end felt forced and awkward, Zack was able to bring back momentum to superhero films (For me) and has a huge following to back him up, so here hoping to see Zack's vision truly be realized 7/10

Instantly better than the Whedon version “and Batman v Superman” as soon as it starts. Since Whedon just brought his usual goofy one liners and tried too hard to make the DC universe less dark.
Batman v Superman still comes off as an unfocused mess story wise. This movie at least makes some of the scenes just thrown in make sense. The film also feels more like an epic than the original version. That just wanted to be the Avengers but with DC heroes.
Snyder’s one big problem to me though is that he loves slow motion way too much. You can also say this version sets up backstories for almost 2 hrs. Which will bother some but I enjoyed all the new scenes throughout this movie. As a comic fan. After I saw the 2017 version I kept forgetting the Justice League even got a movie honestly. This movie is so much more memorable and deserves a sequel.

The movie is quite good! The meh writing by Chris Terrio and CGI is still there, but the content that was removed from the crappy final film by Joss Whedon entirely makes up for it. Additionally, that four-hour feature length is somehow pretty good to see how the film opens up and ends the story and it certainly did not disappoint a bit. All I can say is, The Snyder Cut is better than BvS: Ultimate Edition hands down especially with all the content we did not expected to see and the society we did not see in our eyes. It made‘Zack Snyder's Justice League’ is a superior and more epic superhero league. It has got heart, unity, the feeling of being loved and belonging, and a sense of urgency, something that was sorely missed from the 2017 theatrical version. It made me feel every moment from sympathy, sadness for characters, and fear for the villains. It’s a long movie, four hours and two minutes long, so there’s a lot to take in, a lot to unpack. A massive feast of superheros with heart and soul.

Snyder really dose understand these characters despite what others may say. He knows their strengths and weakness and utilizes it to its full potential. This is his vision, his take on these characters and you don’t always have to like his interpretation, but it’s something refreshing and complex. I hope he does get the opportunity to finish is trilogy as I am eager to see this story continue as he intended. I like Zack Snyder both as a filmmaker and a person because he seems like a cool guy that always gets hated on for the stupidest reasons.

Ben Affleck is charming and heroic as Bruce Wayne / The Batman, but Affleck himself looks more focused and healthier, unlike the 2017 theatrical cut. And yes, am taking up every opportunity to sh*t talk that movie. I found it interesting how they turned the darkest possible interpretation of Batman from ‘Batman V Superman’ into a hopeful Batman with goodness and faith restored in his heart. Gal Gabot is once again super awesome as Wonder Woman and has plenty of action sequences for her to shine, especially the Wonder Woman Saves London scene. Whenever Gabot or Affleck interact with Alfred (Jeremy Irons) were the most endearing parts of the movie.

Ezra Millers Flash and Jason Momoa as Aquaman are the more comedic elements of the movie. This is lighter in tone than the previous DC movies, but not too comical where it starts to become a comedy sitcom. The movie did a good job balancing light-hearted and seriousness when it comes to tone. Anyway, there both had more to do in this cut and had some memorable action scenes. The Flash is the real hero of the movie, especially with the fantastic final battle.

Henry Cavill returns as Superman, but this time clean-shaven. The character is the definition of cool and his involvement in the final battle of the movie was satisfying.

However, the real standout here is a character that originally in my 2017 review of ‘Josstice League’, I commented that he was the weakest link of the team. But man, they did Ray Fisher and the character of Cyborg dirty in the theatrical cut, because Cyborg's arc was most poignant this time around, given the personal loss and tragedy he suffered, and his integral relationship with the mother boxes. There’s one particular scene in this movie that brilliantly wins you over into loving the character, by using his powers to do a simple act of kindness. The scene perfectly captures who he is as a person by showing how he chooses to use that virtually unlimited power. Ray Fisher delivers an incredible performance! Also, shout out to Asian-American actor C Amanda Maud, who had her scenes removed in Whedon's cut, but has finally been restored and it’s the most heartfelt scene of the whole movie that never fails to make me feel emotional. She was truly terrific in her small role, and Cyborg is the heart of the movie!

A massive improvement this time around is the villain Steppenwolf, played wonderfully by the underrated Ciaran Hinds. The way he looks in design, with his spiky metal Armor makes him look more threatening. His voice is much darker and deeper. He is brutal, intimidating, dangerous, and poses a genuine threat that will require each member of the League to do their part equally. Also, the entire Amazonians Vs Steppenwolf scene was way better and more intense, as the struggle felt real and urgent. Despite being an unstoppable force, I like how they showed a more vulnerable side to him, which conveys to us through his large puppy eyes, and through Hinds performance that he is scared deep down, because there’s another evil villain lurking in the background, somebody much worse than him, and his name is Darkside, and while he doesn’t have too much screen time, but the way they build him up makes him look and feel menacing, and the actor who plays him, named Ray Porter, absolutely killed it in those little glimpses of chaos. I want to end this already long review with a special tribute to Autumn Snyder, and I want to tell you something important that you need to hear.

You questioned your worth in this life and wondered if it was worth living in it. Well, you were worth everything and much more. I believe her memory will live on in this cut. For Autumn.

And for those who are also questioning their worth in this life, my followers or strangers just passing through, you are worth a million. If no one is going to tell you that, then let me.

Overall rating: "I'm not broken. And I'm not alone"

Zack Snyder's Justice League is one of the most unusual success stories in the history of filmmaking.

The original Justice League movie is an abomination, plagued by lots of behind-the-scenes issues during production (Zack Snyder being struck by family tragedy and replaced by Joss Whedon who decided to reshoot the movie), but also a result of Warner Bros' rushed and lame attempt to directly compete against Marvel's MCU with their DC Extended Universe. In 2017 Marvel and Disney had already released 17 MCU films and fleshed out most of the characters, whereas DC had only 4 (Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman). Sure most people know about Superman and Batman, but Wonder Woman, Cyborg, Flash and Aquaman were still relative unknowns for non-comic-books conoisseurs. Warner Bros made a big mistake of trying to create an Avengers competitor, throwing all these characters together with no proper introduction, no build-up and no plan. To say that 2017's Justice League was a bad movie would be an understatement.

4 years later we finally get to watch Zack Snyder's original vision for the Justice League movie, after lots of requests from fans and actors and Zack Snyder himself. The core plot of the new movie is 100% the same as the 2017 film. But we get more than just a few more scenes to flesh out the characters a little bit. We get tons of more scenes setting up a chain of events, and also different character arcs. For example Cyborg's father dies, unlike the 2017 movie. Lois Lane is present in Superman's resurrection by mere luck, unlike the 2017 movie where she was supposedly brought in by Batman. The annoying kids-in-Russia-rescue scene is entirely cut, as is Superman and Flash's speed contest. Cyborg, Flash and Aquaman get some much needed characterization, as well as Steppenwolf who goes from an uninteresting baddie to a villain with personal motivations and a bit of a personal drama. We also get introduced to Darkseid, DC's equivalent of Marvel's Thanos. Last but not least, the Martian Manhunter makes his cinematic debut.

At 4 hours long, Zack Snyder's Justice League runs almost twice as long as the 2017 movie, but it doesn't get boring - nor too exciting, I'm afraid. As I said, the core plot is the same as the 2017 movie, and I hate it when directors and writers try to cram as many plots and characters and arcs as possible into a 2-hours-long movie (exactly the same issue I have with Batman v Superman). But Zack Snyder's version has lots of heart compared to the original film. Zack Snyder's Justice League doesn't compare favorably against the best MCU movies, but it's a personal redemption for the director. Whether it will be a turning point for the entire DCEU remains to be seen.

In terms of characters, feelings and intelligence, the story is more dense. That also means you have a better acting because some characters have more lines to say. Cyborg is the one that benefits from that movie. The FX are also a good evolution. Steffenwolf is great to look at, and his armour is simply spectacular. The music is finally done by JunkieXXL, and it's one of the best part in the Cut. I like the episodes but the length made me struggle a bit. I didn't like the 4:3 format. I though it was a totally useless gimmick. The addition to the villains enrich the main villain story. The epilogue is good but we all know that those loose paths will never see the light of days. I give this movie a fair 75%. Which is by any means, a vastly superior product that Warner released in the first place. Expand

Ego, toxic fanaticism, years of constant complaining, the hopes and wishes of the fans, excesses, and more ego.
All of those elements converged in Zack Snyder's Justice League.

A project that can be considered dead due to the studio's zero interest in continuing with what Snyder had in mind.
So it will go down in history as a failed experiment and a memento of what could have been.
And, unfortunately, it will also become a terrible precedent for fans to think and believe that they can manipulate multi-million dollar corporations.

This movie has parts of the best and worst of Zack Snyder.
It's clearly a superior film than the one Whedon altered, but it's quite necessary to clarify that all Snyder is doing is mending a film that was already poorly made, and that had been brutally patched up with elements that ultimately made it much worse.

I admire Snyder's ambition, and I say that because he clearly wasn't afraid to build a movie on such a scale. However, it is his own ambition that ends up winning in his own game.

This is a 4-hour film that would never have seen the light of day, even if it had been finished when it was released in 2017.
Therefore, now that he was aware that they would allow him the opportunity to expand to the fullest without consequences, Snyder never seemed to have thought in having moderation Obviously, if it was his last chance, he would be the guy to leave the party in a big way.

This Justice League is bigger, too long, and even with the massive amount of detail it adds, it's still a messy film.
You can put many other adjectives in it, but mess is still the big trigger.

Without a doubt Snyder bet on many other things for the future, hence the constant plans that he has revealed on social media, but unfortunately for him, he will only be the child who wanted to have the cake and eat it too.

His world, by the looks of it, is dead, and that's why I refer to this movie as a dead project. Since neither DC nor Warner have been able to give order to their planning of superhero movies.
And now they will use the multiverse excuse to protect their business approach of: throw **** and see what sticks. I trusted this idea, but they did not let it work, and that is why until now a clear path has not been found. So you have to see this for what it is: One director had his way to get rid of a personal and professional thorn, and was consequently able to deliver such a film. Which in my opinion is completely built for fans. Casual viewers or movie lovers of other genres should know better. Now their enjoyment or dislike will only belong to them.
For better or worse, Snyder did what he wanted, and perhaps in his mind he finally delivered, so the rest is up to the viewers. *Kudos to Snyder for the knightmare sequence. I mean, it's pure **** fan service, but if this wasn't it, then what is it?

While this is a good movie showing what Zack Snyder can do well, it also shows what he is not very good at.

The good first.
Camerawork is just great, this is where Zack shines the most. Some scenes are like art and that is something noone can take away from him.
The actors all do a great job, and here they have good lines to work with.
All the characters get to shine and show they are there for a reason.
The soundtrack is great.

And the bad.
That he needed around 4h for this movie to make sense is proof that he is terrible at phasing, smashing multiple movies into one and the result is something that with less time would make zero sense and honestly be a bad movie. A clear example of this was Man of Steel.
This movie would also had been much better if all the characters had been given their own movies before making this one, and honestly this movie would have been better as 2 or even 3 movie. Fleshing out the characters in the universe before bringing them together. Sadly this will most likelt not happen due to WB finding it better to restart it all over and over rather then plotting a course and sticking to it, and in this case this is insane seeing as they actually in this movie have some great actors who fits the roles... but starting from strach with the same misstakes and new actors and directors without a clear direction is way better, ya.

The villain, despite been very generic, has an amazing design and an interesting motivation, which unfortunately wasn't explored at all, making him a shallow character. The CGI improved a lot, i don't know how some persons are telling that it is bad. Flash's lines are terrible, specially his super cringe jokes. Superman also wasn't good in this movie, the way he recovered his memory was still very bad, making absolutelly no sense neither having any explanation why it worked, but at least they fixed the part that he only remembered Batman, and the scenes with Superman, Lois Lane and his mother were so long and too much boring. However, the other characters were pretty decent, especially Wonder Woman and Cyborg. The final battle was very good, i only disliked one scene, were they were gonna lose and Superman saves them, pretty cliché. Still, a good movie and, despite having 4 hours, it is fun and enjoyable. Initially, I wasn't too keen on the idea of watching it because I thought...who wants to watch a 4 hour version of the garbage they gave us in '17? However, the buzz this film generated online was just too big to ignore though I still wasn't expecting much. I can now definitively say I'm glad I watched it.
I'll just get straight into it because unless you've been living under a rock for the last decade, you know who all the major players are.
Snyder's version is inarguably miles better than the Whedon '17 version and alot more cohesive. The story doesn't really have much depth plotwise and it's a bit of a slog but you do get more expansion into characters like Cyborg and The Flash. I really liked this because the Whedon version basically reduced their characters to cameos. I was also happy we got to see a bit more of the Amazons. They were badass and showed real heart.
Stunning costumes and cinematography were the running theme in fact, the entire film was very aesthetically pleasing. Steppenwolf's CGI makes my skin crawl but in a good way. The soundtrack however, was not great and came off as cliche most times.
The biggest problem I had with this movie though, was the dialogue. Aside from having more than a few corny lines (I honestly couldn't help but cringe at certain exchanges) the entire dialogue is terrible. Whoever wrote it deserves to be pistol whipped. It seriously impairs not only the character interactions but the overall story in what could have otherwise been a home run.
Two of the biggest highlights for me was The Flash's time defying run and the epilogue chapter. It actually follows a comic plotline and added more nuance to the story but unfortunately it doesn't look like we'll get a follow up into that due to behind the scenes issues. We can remain hopeful though that the creators will work it out (and hopefully hire someone new for the dialogue).
JL is by no means perfect but it was a highly enjoyable watch. I always tend to be a harsher critic of big budget films because there's really no excuse not to give us the best. Overall 7.5/10

A lot of people are praising this movie with 9's and 10's so just a warning, it shall receive no such praise from me

I'll admit I wasn't a fan of man of steel (4/10) and BvS (5/10), and I did like the original cut of justice League (7.5/10), so I didn't have much faith going into it but I'll say I was surprised, It had a lot of great things that hyped me up for the future of the DCEU.

I liked the further development of cyborg, I genuinely liked how flash was handled making him act like he's way over his head but is still the MVP, I appreciate making batman dark again, I like that they had a bit more humor and I overall like how they expanded on the members of the league almost compensating for the lack of their individual movies. Definitely the best of the Snyder trilogy

Now what I disliked, it yet again ruins superman by making him too dark, in the original cut of justice League they fixed superman by making him more positive and funny which is what superman should be but this movie has him back to being this robotic dark character that doesn't feel human. I dislike how they made darkseid feel weak, he's defeated so easily which takes out any tension that there could have been in the next movies. It takes out some of my favourite lines from the original such as "you are not a monster Victor. Its funny that you thought I meant me" and "He was more human than me". It is way too long, it perfectly could have been 3 hours long Overall I liked it, I'm hopeful for the future of the DCEU, but I can definitely see that Snyder is improving his style but I still prefer the Whedon cut just for its lighter tone and shorter run time

7/10

'Zack Snyder's Justice League' is still silly and melodramatic. Yes, the characters are more defined and interesting —especially Cyborg—, and Steppenwolf is no longer a funny-looking clown, but the dull moments are everywhere. Three hours could've been enough.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Action 10/10 - no one does it better than Zack Snyder. Every single fight sequence - the Amazon fight at the beginning, the back-story/age-of-heroes fight sequence with the Green Lantern cameo, the underground/night-crawler fight sequence and the final fight sequence - they are all amazing, stunning etc. Like I said, there are a few directors out there who can match Zack Snyder in this department. Caveat - Batman appears a bit sluggish for a few seconds in one of the fight sequences where he kicks a parademon (it's like the parademon is just standing there with a gun waiting to be kicked). But I can ignore that. Fantastic all around.

Story, depth, logic etc = 2/10. Let me give you an example. Bruce and Diana are looking at a video of the Aquaman and commenting on the fact that because he's part human and part Atlantian, he can breathe and fight on land and yet under water. And yet, pretty much every Atlantian can do that. So what was the point. Also - the line "You can be anything you want to be" is uttered at least 3 times. Right at the beginning, Wonder Woman saves a bunch of kids and when one of them says "I want to be like you", she responds with the proverbial line. Really? :) The plot is good but the dialogs are not. Bad writing I would say. Hokey, cliched, tired and lazy.

About the superheroes themselves - in terms of story assigned and acted out:
Batman - 9/10
Cyborg - 10/10
Flash - 9/10
Aquaman - 5/10
Superman - 6/10
Wonder Woman - 2/10 - I'll say this again. This is bad casting. The woman can't act, doesn't have a charming personality - and forced everyone on that island of Amazon to learn her own idiotic accent.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The long awaited Snyder Cut is not a bad film - it's a significant improvement over the theatrical version - but it isn't a very good one either. Only about 10% of the theatrical cut's scenes feature in this film, but the overall storyline remains the same. With a four hour runtime, there was more time to flesh out the story. A more developed story, along with improved visuals and better performances, helped in turning Justice League into a watchable film.

The film has several flaws, among them the execution (which is an issue in the DC universe in general). Three major characters are introduced in this film (Aquaman, Flash, and Cyborg) alongside Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman. Outside of Cyborg, no character is given a proper arc despite the four hour runtime. There was little time left for character development with the film's lengthy story, as well as its abundance of action sequences. This issue could have been avoided had these characters been given their own solo movies before Justice League. A film is hard to enjoy if a viewer is unable to properly connect with its characters - this was the main problem with Justice League. The various fan service moments are also problematic in this movie There are several scenes, particularly in the film's epilogue, which seem to set up sequels that will never happen. These scenes unnecessarily extended the runtime and soured the experience. Questionable music choices and excessive slow-mo moments also did nothing to improve the viewing experiences.

Overall, the Snyder Cut is a significant improvement over its theatrical counterpart, and fans of Zack Snyder would thoroughly enjoy it. However, I wouldn't recommend this film to a casual viewer, due to its lengthy runtime and various underlying issues.

Cyborg being given the spotlight in the film was a good choice.

Cons: Writers got fatigued 2/3 in, cringe-worthy phoned-in "banter," plenty of bad CGI for balance - especially in action shots involving super-speed dashes), militaristic characterization of heroes and plot at odds with their solo movies, bad emphasis on macguffins, in-movie acceptance of truly weird plot points (not nearly enough lampshading), flabby sequences could have used some trimming, some distracting needledrops, fan service at all-time high

All in all, I wasn't expecting a perfect movie, and what I got was slightly worse than I expected it would be, but it was weirdly fascinating and perversely self-indulgent, which I totally dig

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I never saw the 2017 theatrical release after the bore-fest that was "Suicide Squad", but I watched "BvS: The Ultimate Edition" in preparation for the Snyder Cut so as to refresh myself on the characters. Suffice to say, it's actually pretty good. The characters were very interesting to me for once (Cyborg in particular has much better development as a character compared to what I've heard about the "Josstice" version) the action and story all feel easier to follow, and the return of Superman coupled with Flash's amazing "Time Reversal" scene during the final battle with Steppenwolf really do wonders.

If I had any real issues, I'd say the scene with Iris West at the Vet's Office and the scene where Vulko tries to give Arthur his mother's spear felt like they didn't really add anything to the main story and so didn't have much reason to be there. Also, as much as I enjoyed seeing the Martian Manhunter in this movie, the decision to include him in the epilogue is kind of ruined by the fact that it happens immediately after another "Knightmare" sequence that I personally felt just dragged the ending out for too long.

Overall, the Snyder Cut isn't perfect, nor is it my favorite movie from Snyder (that's "Man of Steel"); but considering the reception to "Josstice League" and the shenanigans that led to its existence, I would MUCH rather spend another four hours watching this again than spend almost two hours watching something that tried (and failed) to emulate "Marvel's the Avengers".

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Things I loved about the movie
- The fights in the first third have real impact and are really well choreographed. The hits have real impact and are brutal. There's a genuine sense of tension in the first third, especially the fight where Steppenwolf fights the Amazons.
- Some of the shots are gorgeous and beautiful. There's such a love for the comics in the film.
- Barry Allen's first and last scene are gorgeous set pieces
- Junkie Xl's score uses DC's motifs in a beautiful way, especially Superman's Flight and Hope themes.
- I love how brutal Darkseid is and how they set him up for future installments
- There's a heroic, grim, mythic tone to the piece that's really welcoming amidst the MCU's quip heavy dialogue.

Things I didn't love
- While the film has an overall grim tone...nothing really bad happens to the heroes or the world itself (with any lasting consequences), making the whole thing seem uneven. - The characters aren't emotionally or physically challenged in a way with lasting consequences, making Steppenwolf's actions seem light. - The characters (for the exception of one) don't change in any meaningful ways aside from agreeing to join the team. Batman has hope. The flash is goofy. Aquaman is gruff and has funny catchphrase. Wonderwoman is there too.
- The character who does undergo the most change (Cyborg) doesn't have a meaningful relationship with the person who he's trying to save. They neither reconcile nor fall apart, making the ending between them not land emotionally.
- There are whole scenes where nothing happens and it's just a fountain of exposition (see: the epilogue)
- The Flash's last scene is emotionally impactful and beautiful, but it doesn't really address or move forward any of his character's quest or development. It seems like it's just there and the arc leading up to it somehow got cut.
- The film as a whole lacks a sense of momentum and urgency. While bad things happen to the world, our heroes never seem to be in a terrible rush to fix them or suffer any considerable losses that cause them to question their goal.
- The heroes don't really have relationships that develop with each other. They join forces, that's essentially it.

So yeah, I dunno. I don't think ZS' Justice League is a pile of poo or a masterpiece. It's something in the middle. In a better world, I do wonder what the project would've looked like if there was a supportive studio behind it that gave notes to smooth out the storybeats without destroying the original vision of the project.

Additionally, I'm glad Snyder got to finish his version of the film. On that note... There was only one thing that this movie did definitively better than the theatrical version of the film: the final battle. Yes, the character development was also better, but it was at the cost of pacing. The Snyder cut acted as an origins film for Cyborg, fleshed out the Flash and Aquaman more, and provided motive for Steppenwolf all of which easily added an hour and a half to the film which was too long. A lot of Cyborg and Steppenwolf's additions were worth it, but you probably could have cut a half hour of content here without sacrificing character arcs, story, or emotional impact. What value did close to four minutes of slow motion football add to Cyborgs character? Why did I need to know that the Flash applied to be a dog walker (let's not talk about Iris... girl was flying through the air after a vehicle collision with the calmest expression, that scene was laughable)? And, what the heck was the deal with the singing lady when Aquaman went back into the ocean (sure, that was only like 30 seconds but it felt like an awkward eternity). Honestly, this film could've been an 8/10 if it were an hour shorter which could've been easily achievable by just removing about half the needless slow-motion scenes and focusing on making a great individual movie without putting in a bunch of scenes with no impact on the immediate story, meant to tease things to come (which I'd lean towards us never seeing a continuation of on the big screen). It could be a 7-7.5/10 if it were a three-part miniseries. But, as a 4-hour, fully intact film, it was a chore to get through and I will likely never re-watch it. Expand

Primero de todo: ¿Es una buena película? Lo es. ¿Era necesaria? No, punto.

This way I was deeply annoyed till End of Chapter 4. The movie redeemed itself in the end. The movie also works cause this time the plot is much simpler and Snyder doesn't try to stuff it with allegories. Watchable for fans but the general audience might tone out of boredom. Visual as usually great but too many slow-mos and again coloring like it was filmed in a dishwasher. In general, it was ok but don't need to see it again. Give me a 2,5h version of it and I buy the 4k one. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This movie is definitely way better than the 2017's version. Second, although this movie is 4 hours long, I felt like the movie is fast-paced especially during the last hour and a half which is not very far from the 2017's version also the way it showed at the beginning that Steppenwolf was so overpowered then when superman stepped in he became very week, in other words, superman alone could have beaten Steppenwolf so easily. And to finish I think gal gadot is the worst actress of her generation. Expand

Spending a lot of money on a non-canon piece of fanservice that still leaves their ultimate plans for the DCEU up in the air. The results are an improvement to be sure, but this isn't likely to be a vindication for anyone other than Snyder himself and the particularly delusional members of the fanbase who are still trying to convince everyone that the 31-minutes of footage added in the "Ultimate Edition" of Batman v Superman somehow magically fixes everything wrong with that film. That's because it reveals some uncomfortable truths about just how inherently flawed Justice League was to begin with.

Make no mistake, this isn't a super long director's cut. It's an entirely different super long movie. A lot of the scenes and of course the story are the same, but are handled in distinctive ways. Things like the moodier score and Snyder's trademark visual style give scenes and moments a darker tone. Such as how the villains look like they were pulled straight off of the cover art for a metal album. The narrative has also been greatly expanded allowing every little idea room to breathe and be fully fleshed out. We can now see exactly where exactly Snyder was intending to go with these heroes, which unfortunately comes with the tradeoff of also having clearer knowledge of the mistakes he made trying to get them there as quickly as possible.

Rather than acting as a film that works on its own while hinting at the bigger threat planned for later on down the road the way the first Avengers did for Thanos, this is essentially an overly long trailer for what might have been a pretty sweet adaptation of the Injustice video game. Nowhere is that more evident than with Steppenwolf. Who, yes, is portrayed more menacingly here, but is still uninteresting on his own and only serves to constantly remind viewers that Snyder had planned to bring Darkseid to the table at some point, likely in the very next sequel. It makes you wonder why Snyder didn't just go ahead and make that movie instead. It's not like he hadn't already cut necessary corners to get this far anyways. Which is why Flash and Cyborg get introduced and established here rather than in their own solo origin flicks; something that disrupts the flow of the story.

Speaking of those two, they really exemplify how the whole team dynamic is handled a little better here as they both play a more integral role in saving the day. So now only Batman, Aquaman, and Wonder Woman are useless. Something that makes the special theme music that plays every time the Amazonian so much as looks in a different direction during a fight seem really silly after a while given how little she's actually able to do against Steppenwolf. They all still come off as inconsequential when compared to Superman though who, after hours of his peers getting slapped around, defeats the villain in a hilariously anticlimatic and one-sided beatdown that makes it hard to take the other members of the League seriously going forward because of how easily outshined they were.

I think it's time we stop demonizing Whedon for his version. Yeah, his changes and additions were bad, but it's clear now that what he had to work with wasn't all that great in the first place. Most of the flaws found in his take are still present here, only marginally more tolerable. Even now without any sort of discernable destination for it to go the DCEU is probably better off without Snyder as at least WB has the potential to salvage things and with the necessary groundwork he was either uninterested or unwilling to lay. Because while his Justice League is a better movie, it's still not a good movie. Oh, and Jared Leto's Joker is still the worst thing ever.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Pretty dissapointing movie. I actually enjoyed both Man of Steel and BvS so I am in no way a Snyder hater, but this movie is pretty much the theatrical cut, only double in lenght.

If anything, this gives me some appreciation for the Whedon version, as he cut a lot of the pointless filler and expozition scenes. For example, Diana explaining to Bruce the lore of the Motherboxes lasted for about 1 minute in the Original, but here it lasts for more than 3x that long and not only doesn't it add anything interesting, but makes it seem even dumber. It was laughable enough in the original that an Army with mostly Bronze Age technology managed to defeat a multiverse level threat, but here they make Darkseid seem even more pathetic as - get this - he forgot the name of the planet where he left the Motherboxes after his most humiliating defeat. And this is just a minor example. Cryborg gets about 3 times more screen time in this one but he is still the same boring character as he was in the theatrical release.

Are there any improvements? Well, the tone is much more consistent this time. So no more whedonisms, no more quips every 30 seconds and all characters sounding the same. There is some humor, mostly relegated to the Flash(who is just as cringy here as he was in the 2017 versions) but, for most part, each character has their own personality and the actors actually look like they give a **** in this one. Also, for all of Snyder's flaws, you can't say his movies don't look good and this one is no exception. There is some dubious CGI here and there, but the movie still looks cinematic rather a SyFy original, like the Whedon version. Hell, Steppenwolf, who looked like a generic evil character on the cover of a middle market cRPG in the early 2000s, has one of the best villain designs I've seen.

At the end of the day, I am glad fans got what they wanted and the original vision made it to the screen. But let's not kind oyrselves into thinking this is more than the average schlock you get from Marvel, only with slightly better visuals.

The quality mostly didn't improve and the colour filters are distorting in some situations. Reasons to this effect may vary. On a personal level, i disliked the artificially inflated - for a lack of better word - epicness of this movie. The movie is also too long and should have been cut. As if the Avengers films weren't already too long already, I like a movie that can tell a good story in 1.5-2.5 hours, tops. Any longer, and it becomes exposition, unless it's something based on truth, like Gettysburg, where there's a CLEAR intermission. I know Snyder did not want to leave his film, and I see this as his return to form, but a new project would have been paramount to saying, "But no, I can make what was already good better!" Stick with the original, real cut, with Danny Elfman's excellent soundtrack, even if Steppenwolf is better as a band. Expand

Yes, there is new information in this film vs the original. Yes, there are more things to look at. Yes, we're now able to know more about some of the characters than we did in the first version. That's just grand. Even so, this extra stuff doesn't make it a good movie - it just makes it extra. Even with this director's better understanding of action, the movie is just as boring as the original. With all that action, it's still a slog. Snyder's Justice League feels like nothing more than fan service. It most certainly doesn't feel like a single cohesive movie. It's bloated and slow, with cringeworthy dialogue at times, and simply doesn't satisfy as a film. This could've been a better movie. It feels like a better movie is in there somewhere.

That doesn’t mean though that this film is perfect just because it was released. Yes the film is a MAJOR improvement over 2017’s Justice League but this film still brings some of those problems over to this film such as the poor writing. The dialogue in this film is still almost just as stilted as it was in Justice League however, there are no awful jokes to ruin the pacing of the film which I do appreciate. The writing in Justice League was god awful and this was still bad but not as bad. Gal Gadot’s, Henry Cavill’s, and Amy Adam’s performances are still just as awkward as they were in the original film. I still find some of their line delivery laughable bad but Ray Fisher’s performance was definitely an improvement because he was given an actual character this time. In the previous film, him and The Flash were just kinda there and now they have some role in the film which I did like. I do think Ray Fisher’s Cyborg is honestly the best part of the film. He’s pretty great. Stepphenwolf was better than he was in Justice League but I still felt that he was kinda one dimensional. Trust me that he isn’t as bad in Justice League but I still found him uninteresting. This runtime is absolutely not justified. It did not need to be 4 hours long because the first half is a slog to sit through. I found myself nodding off a few times and having to rewind because I didn’t know what happened. This film isn’t all bad though. Like I said, Cyborg is great and the visual effects are a huge improvement. Plus, the cinematography is pretty fantastic at points. Some of the action is well done and I did enjoy the second half of the film. Like I said, I’m happy Snyder was able to release this and I think it’s a worthy addition to the DCEU but it isn’t flawless. Check this out if you enjoy this universe or are interested in seeing what Snyder’s vision was. Expand

On the other hand, that's not saying much. I've seen some people say that it's a completely different movie, but after watching it, I have to disagree. The Snyder Cut is still basically the same movie.

There's a lot to like. The added scenes make some of the events that happen make more sense, the effects are a little better, most of the bad jokes are gone, Cyborg gets a lot more to do, and yes, it is a million times better than the other cut.

However, a lot of the things that I disliked in the original are still here. Apart from Cyborg, most of the characters are still pretty bland, Steppenwolf is still very uninteresting, the action is still forgettable and I'm just not emotionally engaged enough.

There's a lot added to the movie, but a lot of it seems like it's only there to set up movies that may never even happen.

Also, there's a choir singing that plays whenever Wonder Woman shows up and I hated it.

In the end, I'm really glad that Zack Snyder got to finally make the movie he wanted. I believe all filmmakers should be able to make their movies the way they want to make them. But this movie is still just Justice League but longer. It's an improvement, but being better than Justice League (2017) isn't a huge accomplishmet. Disappointing.

Because through his films he gives the audience some tough love. He doesn’t make it easy on you. He demands things from you (your complete and undivided attention, your brain power). He puts you in uncomfortable situations. But after watching them, you come out shaken. You feel it was all worth it -the demands, the discomfort, the tears-, cause it means something. He makes art that matters. That’s why I love him.

As a Snyder fan I'm so glad this movie has seen the light of day. I didn’t fight for it as hard as some other fans, but I added my grain of sand, with the hashtags and lots of word-of-mouth. That been said, my feelings for this movie are… mixed to say the least. ZSJL might be my least favorite Snyder film.

I read some critiques saying that this movie is very extravagant. Well, besides some musical moments, there’s nothing extravagant about it. And I wish there was.
IMO it can't hold a candle to most of Snyder’s filmography, specially MoS and BvS (one of my favorite movies of all time). I would put ZSJL on the same level as Legends of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole.

If I had to describe the DC-Snyder Trilogy, I would describe MoS as a realistic sci-fi/philosophical story, and BvS as a realistic sci-fi/political/philosophical story.

ZSJL is a fantasy/superhero story. Zack will have the masses on his side with this one, and that makes me happy for him. But speaking as a selfish person here (and I know I might sound like a pretentious **** ZSJL lacks that demanding, complex, sometimes painful nature of most of his work. It's a bit too easy. It’s just not ballsy or weird enough for me, and that's precisely why I didn't like it so much. And that's exactly why the world will, for the most part, love it.

Here’s a somewhat petty list of things I didn’t like about ZSJL:
-I find the themes of this movie (faith, fathers, unity) not very interesting
-Not enough Superman/Clark
-That ominous warning against resuscitating Clark, and the moral question of ‘is it ok to play with life and death?’, to finally just say ‘yeah, I guess’
-Only one substantial Martha scene, and is not even Martha
-The fantasy tone clashes with the realistic tone of MOS & BVS
-Poor dialogue for Terrio's standards
-Pretty generic score
-The similarities to LOTR only remind me of a better set of movies (LOTR trilogy)
-As a narrator, Gal is no Cate Blanchett -All the talk about “darkness” and “evil” and Darkseid's masterplan sound like a generic fantasy plot
-No ambiguity, no complexity
-Batman looks a bit awkward and uncomfortable in his bat-suit
-Bland fight choreographies
-Hard to suspend my disbelief
-Didn't care much for Arthur, and even less for Mera
-Bruce flaunting his fortune was (although in character) a little tacky
-The two **** and the blood were honestly a little unnecessary in such a kid-friendly film

Here’s a list of all the things I DID like about ZSJL:
-Leto’s Joker and that Mad Max future
-The Amazons vs Steppenwolf
-Clark playing with that butterfly
-Superman's resurrection
-That embrace between Clark and Lois (specially Cavill’s performance in that scene)
-Bruce’s infatuation with Superman & his devotion to (the idea of) him
-That little music video where Arthur walks in slomo while waves crash against him
-Flash/Barry (he is adorable)
-That first scene between Barry and his father
-Cyborg
-Victor's father
-The humor was tasteful and just enough
-There’s a lot of caring and tenderness between the characters
-The 4 hs fly by
-All the heroes felt very powerful
-"I'm not broken, and I'm not alone"

I really can’t understand why WB didn’t put out this movie in the first place instead of that tacky, raunchy, soulless thing directed by Whedon in 2017. If they had edited out the musical moments, and trimmed it a little to make it shorter, the studio could have released this film back then and it would have been a hit, with both audience and critics, like it is now. ZSJL is everything the critics and general audience wanted from Snyder’s films (a more light-hearted tone, more hope, more straightforward narrative, more humor). There was no need to call another writer/director to change the film. Not only what the studio did to Snyder and his movie was immoral, it was also stupid. I can’t believe they deemed ZSJL “unwatchable”. The only unwatchable version is Whedon’s.

ZSJL It’s a solid, inspirational, honest film full of heart, and it’s highly superior to most of the films in the superhero genre. It’s just not my cup of tea, and I genuinely think it is one of Snyder’s worst films. He can do so much better than this. He has. For that reason, and because I only rate things based on my personal taste, I gave this film the rating I did. But as much as it let me down, I do recommend it to all superhero/fantasy fans out there. I think most of you will enjoy it.

Its a mess. A Different mess.

It's too long, too much slow mo, too many pauses in the story for a song. Takes itself way too seriously. Please don't throw around 10's because this film is better than the first. The bench mark was low. It

It's too long, too much slow mo, too many pauses in the story for a song. Takes itself way too seriously. Please don't throw around 10's because this film is better than the first. The bench mark was low. It looks very good, the score is excellent but its a slog to watch. Quite boring, especially the first two hours. I think it would have suited a tv mini series. It appears it was going to be one right up until the 11th hour; hence the chapters. Improvement yes. But marginally.

Не зря ждали с 2016. Очень жаль, что продолжение мы вряд ли увидим.

This movie feels like a 4 hours video game cut scene. Still, very generic villain look and motivation, fake looking CGI and awkward one-liner.
