Spending a lot of money on a non-canon piece of fanservice that still leaves their ultimate plans for the DCEU up in the air. The results are an improvement to be sure, but this isn't likely to be a vindication for anyone other than Snyder himself and the particularly delusional members of the fanbase who are still trying to convince everyone that the 31-minutes of footage added in the "Ultimate Edition" of Batman v Superman somehow magically fixes everything wrong with that film. That's because it reveals some uncomfortable truths about just how inherently flawed Justice League was to begin with.

Make no mistake, this isn't a super long director's cut. It's an entirely different super long movie. A lot of the scenes and of course the story are the same, but are handled in distinctive ways. Things like the moodier score and Snyder's trademark visual style give scenes and moments a darker tone. Such as how the villains look like they were pulled straight off of the cover art for a metal album. The narrative has also been greatly expanded allowing every little idea room to breathe and be fully fleshed out. We can now see exactly where exactly Snyder was intending to go with these heroes, which unfortunately comes with the tradeoff of also having clearer knowledge of the mistakes he made trying to get them there as quickly as possible.

Rather than acting as a film that works on its own while hinting at the bigger threat planned for later on down the road the way the first Avengers did for Thanos, this is essentially an overly long trailer for what might have been a pretty sweet adaptation of the Injustice video game. Nowhere is that more evident than with Steppenwolf. Who, yes, is portrayed more menacingly here, but is still uninteresting on his own and only serves to constantly remind viewers that Snyder had planned to bring Darkseid to the table at some point, likely in the very next sequel. It makes you wonder why Snyder didn't just go ahead and make that movie instead. It's not like he hadn't already cut necessary corners to get this far anyways. Which is why Flash and Cyborg get introduced and established here rather than in their own solo origin flicks; something that disrupts the flow of the story.

Speaking of those two, they really exemplify how the whole team dynamic is handled a little better here as they both play a more integral role in saving the day. So now only Batman, Aquaman, and Wonder Woman are useless. Something that makes the special theme music that plays every time the Amazonian so much as looks in a different direction during a fight seem really silly after a while given how little she's actually able to do against Steppenwolf. They all still come off as inconsequential when compared to Superman though who, after hours of his peers getting slapped around, defeats the villain in a hilariously anticlimatic and one-sided beatdown that makes it hard to take the other members of the League seriously going forward because of how easily outshined they were.

I think it's time we stop demonizing Whedon for his version. Yeah, his changes and additions were bad, but it's clear now that what he had to work with wasn't all that great in the first place. Most of the flaws found in his take are still present here, only marginally more tolerable. Even now without any sort of discernable destination for it to go the DCEU is probably better off without Snyder as at least WB has the potential to salvage things and with the necessary groundwork he was either uninterested or unwilling to lay. Because while his Justice League is a better movie, it's still not a good movie. Oh, and Jared Leto's Joker is still the worst thing ever.

Cringe dialogues, Cgi from PS2 era or worse.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This movie is definitely way better than the 2017's version. Second, although this movie is 4 hours long, I felt like the movie is fast-paced especially during the last hour and a half which is not very far from the 2017's version also the way it showed at the beginning that Steppenwolf was so overpowered then when superman stepped in he became very week, in other words, superman alone could have beaten Steppenwolf so easily. And to finish I think gal gadot is the worst actress of her generation. Expand

This way I was deeply annoyed till End of Chapter 4. The movie redeemed itself in the end. The movie also works cause this time the plot is much simpler and Snyder doesn't try to stuff it with allegories. Watchable for fans but the general audience might tone out of boredom. Visual as usually great but too many slow-mos and again coloring like it was filmed in a dishwasher. In general, it was ok but don't need to see it again. I fell for the claims that it was improved over the original, when in fact many of the scenes that were highlighted are exactly the same. Just in the non-IMAX 4:3 so that Cyborg could be cut out of a few scenes and the CGI budget could be stretched out (less CGI on screen at any one time).

This was massively bloated, with many plot holes added from the unnecessary scenes. When I started to factor in all the character assassinations such as WW brutally killing people that she did not need to, including possibly crushing a lot of cops as she used her nuke against a single person instead of her super-speed while he was reloading, then turning to a little girl and claiming that she can grow up to be just like WW. I was not aware that you can get an education as the offspring of a ancient god with all inherent powers, or the ability to not be held accountable for killing without probable cause (or property damage). I would like to sign up for that course immediately! Then we have Cyborg stealing $100k and transferring it to a working mom who probably does deserve it. This seems great until the IRS shows up and wants to know where it came from, eventually siezing it as proceeds from crime (someone hacked the bank) since there is no such thing as the ATM lottery. Finally we have Superman's apparent default attitude which is to kill everyone if he gets the least bit upset. I am not talking about the Spoiler event at the end, but the laughable plot device where Cyborg's arm 'accidentally' attacks him. Superman kills at least one of the soliders (far side of the Humvee), and nearly kills Flash. It was just super convienent that Martian Martha did not convince Lois to return to work right away, or the entire movie would have ended with Superman wiping them all out. Add in the super-scream that would have killed half the world, or the Flash being able to use his newfound abilities to have saved everything all on his own, and this whole script breaks down. The Whedon changes all make sense now. Factor in that he only had two or three months, and Execs telling him what to do, and I am amazed that the original managed a 5 from me.

A lot of this is easy to miss on the first viewing, giving the 4 hour bloat, especially that slo-mo for no reason (burger with a CGI seasame seed is the worst offender), or the fact they screw up a lot by slowing the people but not the CGI effects (rubble, vehicles, explosions, etc). On first viewing I really did think this was better than the original, but a re-watch really helped me notice all the plot holes, plot armor, plot convienence, and some horrible character dialogue that were not in the original.

Darkseid's ships do not have navigational computers? Really Zach? They just 'forgot' the location of the most important thing (Anti-Life equation) in the entire Mutiverse? Also if WW can kick Ares, whom can kick Darkseid, whom in turn can make Steppenwolf grovel, why did WW even break a sweat? If lightening cannot break apart the Unity, how did Zeus's thunderbolt do it in the flashback? Or was that 'special' lightening? If Martian Manhunter cares about the world, why did he sit the majority of this movie out, and how much is Lois going to freak out when she figures out that was not Martha? Finally, what was with all the false advertising in the promo material, including trailers, that were never intended to make your cut? You may not call it cheating, but the people that live in a society do. We call it a lie, just like your claims that Whedon was responsible for all the bad, even though we have the material you originally shot, and it is exactly what he used in the cinematic release. So you just denounced your own scenes, while trying to blame him? Pretty low Zack. Perhaps this is why Ann just axed the Snyderverse.

Yes, there is new information in this film vs the original. Yes, there are more things to look at. Yes, we're now able to know more about some of the characters than we did in the first version. That's just grand. Even so, this extra stuff doesn't make it a good movie - it just makes it extra. Even with this director's better understanding of action, the movie is just as boring as the original. With all that action, it's still a slog. Snyder's Justice League feels like nothing more than fan service. It most certainly doesn't feel like a single cohesive movie. It's bloated and slow, with cringeworthy dialogue at times, and simply doesn't satisfy as a film. This could've been a better movie. It feels like a better movie is in there somewhere.

Additionally, I'm glad Snyder got to finish his version of the film. On that note... There was only one thing that this movie did definitively better than the theatrical version of the film: the final battle. Yes, the character development was also better, but it was at the cost of pacing. The Snyder cut acted as an origins film for Cyborg, fleshed out the Flash and Aquaman more, and provided motive for Steppenwolf all of which easily added an hour and a half to the film which was too long. A lot of Cyborg and Steppenwolf's additions were worth it, but you probably could have cut a half hour of content here without sacrificing character arcs, story, or emotional impact. What value did close to four minutes of slow motion football add to Cyborgs character? Why did I need to know that the Flash applied to be a dog walker (let's not talk about Iris... girl was flying through the air after a vehicle collision with the calmest expression, that scene was laughable)? And, what the heck was the deal with the singing lady when Aquaman went back into the ocean (sure, that was only like 30 seconds but it felt like an awkward eternity). Honestly, this film could've been an 8/10 if it were an hour shorter which could've been easily achievable by just removing about half the needless slow-motion scenes and focusing on making a great individual movie without putting in a bunch of scenes with no impact on the immediate story, meant to tease things to come (which I'd lean towards us never seeing a continuation of on the big screen). It could be a 7-7.5/10 if it were a three-part miniseries. But, as a 4-hour, fully intact film, it was a chore to get through and I will likely never re-watch it. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Things I loved about the movie
- The fights in the first third have real impact and are really well choreographed. The hits have real impact and are brutal. There's a genuine sense of tension in the first third, especially the fight where Steppenwolf fights the Amazons.
- Some of the shots are gorgeous and beautiful. There's such a love for the comics in the film.
- Barry Allen's first and last scene are gorgeous set pieces
- Junkie Xl's score uses DC's motifs in a beautiful way, especially Superman's Flight and Hope themes.
- I love how brutal Darkseid is and how they set him up for future installments
- There's a heroic, grim, mythic tone to the piece that's really welcoming amidst the MCU's quip heavy dialogue.

Things I didn't love
- While the film has an overall grim tone...nothing really bad happens to the heroes or the world itself (with any lasting consequences), making the whole thing seem uneven. - The characters aren't emotionally or physically challenged in a way with lasting consequences, making Steppenwolf's actions seem light. - The characters (for the exception of one) don't change in any meaningful ways aside from agreeing to join the team. Batman has hope. The flash is goofy. Aquaman is gruff and has funny catchphrase. Wonderwoman is there too.
- The character who does undergo the most change (Cyborg) doesn't have a meaningful relationship with the person who he's trying to save. They neither reconcile nor fall apart, making the ending between them not land emotionally.
- There are whole scenes where nothing happens and it's just a fountain of exposition (see: the epilogue)
- The Flash's last scene is emotionally impactful and beautiful, but it doesn't really address or move forward any of his character's quest or development. It seems like it's just there and the arc leading up to it somehow got cut.
- The film as a whole lacks a sense of momentum and urgency. While bad things happen to the world, our heroes never seem to be in a terrible rush to fix them or suffer any considerable losses that cause them to question their goal.
- The heroes don't really have relationships that develop with each other. They join forces, that's essentially it.

So yeah, I dunno. I don't think ZS' Justice League is a pile of poo or a masterpiece. It's something in the middle. In a better world, I do wonder what the project would've looked like if there was a supportive studio behind it that gave notes to smooth out the storybeats without destroying the original vision of the project.

Cyborg being given the spotlight in the film was a good choice.

Cons: Writers got fatigued 2/3 in, cringe-worthy phoned-in "banter," plenty of bad CGI for balance - especially in action shots involving super-speed dashes), militaristic characterization of heroes and plot at odds with their solo movies, bad emphasis on macguffins, in-movie acceptance of truly weird plot points (not nearly enough lampshading), flabby sequences could have used some trimming, some distracting needledrops, fan service at all-time high

All in all, I wasn't expecting a perfect movie, and what I got was slightly worse than I expected it would be, but it was weirdly fascinating and perversely self-indulgent, which I totally dig

On the other hand, that's not saying much. I've seen some people say that it's a completely different movie, but after watching it, I have to disagree. The Snyder Cut is still basically the same movie.

There's a lot to like. The added scenes make some of the events that happen make more sense, the effects are a little better, most of the bad jokes are gone, Cyborg gets a lot more to do, and yes, it is a million times better than the other cut.

However, a lot of the things that I disliked in the original are still here. Apart from Cyborg, most of the characters are still pretty bland, Steppenwolf is still very uninteresting, the action is still forgettable and I'm just not emotionally engaged enough.

There's a lot added to the movie, but a lot of it seems like it's only there to set up movies that may never even happen.

Also, there's a choir singing that plays whenever Wonder Woman shows up and I hated it.

In the end, I'm really glad that Zack Snyder got to finally make the movie he wanted. I believe all filmmakers should be able to make their movies the way they want to make them. But this movie is still just Justice League but longer. It's an improvement, but being better than Justice League (2017) isn't a huge accomplishmet. Disappointing.

It's good, nothing else. It's probably better than the "original" version and less pretentious than previous Snyder's movies, but still marred by excessive slow-motion as well as forgettable characters. The villain is trash, sorry.

The movie's whopping four-hour runtime begins to overstay its welcome, particularly during scenes that feel completely unnecessary. For example, Bruce Wayne's post-credit nightmare scene feels like a set-up for a movie we most likely will never see due to Zack Snyder's complicated relationship with Warner Bros. In fact, most of the movie feels like a prequel to a much better movie. However, one thing Zack Snyder's Justice League improves is the characters, mainly Cyborg. Cyborg was an almost insignificant character in the theatrical release of Justice League, but in Zack Snyder's cut Cyborg becomes the emotional core of the movie. This movie's focus on characters is refreshing to see and is really the best part of this movie. However, decent characters can't make up for the mountain of mediocrity that this movie truly is. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Pretty dissapointing movie. I actually enjoyed both Man of Steel and BvS so I am in no way a Snyder hater, but this movie is pretty much the theatrical cut, only double in lenght.

If anything, this gives me some appreciation for the Whedon version, as he cut a lot of the pointless filler and expozition scenes. For example, Diana explaining to Bruce the lore of the Motherboxes lasted for about 1 minute in the Original, but here it lasts for more than 3x that long and not only doesn't it add anything interesting, but makes it seem even dumber. It was laughable enough in the original that an Army with mostly Bronze Age technology managed to defeat a multiverse level threat, but here they make Darkseid seem even more pathetic as - get this - he forgot the name of the planet where he left the Motherboxes after his most humiliating defeat. And this is just a minor example. Cryborg gets about 3 times more screen time in this one but he is still the same boring character as he was in the theatrical release.

Are there any improvements? Well, the tone is much more consistent this time. So no more whedonisms, no more quips every 30 seconds and all characters sounding the same. There is some humor, mostly relegated to the Flash(who is just as cringy here as he was in the 2017 versions) but, for most part, each character has their own personality and the actors actually look like they give a **** in this one. Also, for all of Snyder's flaws, you can't say his movies don't look good and this one is no exception. There is some dubious CGI here and there, but the movie still looks cinematic rather a SyFy original, like the Whedon version. Hell, Steppenwolf, who looked like a generic evil character on the cover of a middle market cRPG in the early 2000s, has one of the best villain designs I've seen.

At the end of the day, I am glad fans got what they wanted and the original vision made it to the screen. But let's not kind oyrselves into thinking this is more than the average schlock you get from Marvel, only with slightly better visuals.

This one is ridiculously drawn out, and the majority of the runtime is buildup, and not particularly interesting buildup for that matter. By the time anything starts happening, the movie is over, and they have to give you dream sequences that have some of the only real intrigue in the film.

Some of the action scenes are great, and that's most of what would make this movie worth a watch. Cyborgs motivations are decent as well, but no one in the cast has any chemistry. It's just a bunch of brooding people bouncing expository dialogue off each other, then the Flash makes another joke that doesn't remotely land.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Action 10/10 - no one does it better than Zack Snyder. Every single fight sequence - the Amazon fight at the beginning, the back-story/age-of-heroes fight sequence with the Green Lantern cameo, the underground/night-crawler fight sequence and the final fight sequence - they are all amazing, stunning etc. Like I said, there are a few directors out there who can match Zack Snyder in this department. Caveat - Batman appears a bit sluggish for a few seconds in one of the fight sequences where he kicks a parademon (it's like the parademon is just standing there with a gun waiting to be kicked). But I can ignore that. Fantastic all around.

Story, depth, logic etc = 2/10. Let me give you an example. Bruce and Diana are looking at a video of the Aquaman and commenting on the fact that because he's part human and part Atlantian, he can breathe and fight on land and yet under water. And yet, pretty much every Atlantian can do that. So what was the point. Also - the line "You can be anything you want to be" is uttered at least 3 times. Right at the beginning, Wonder Woman saves a bunch of kids and when one of them says "I want to be like you", she responds with the proverbial line. Really? :) The plot is good but the dialogs are not. Bad writing I would say. Hokey, cliched, tired and lazy.

About the superheroes themselves - in terms of story assigned and acted out:
Batman - 9/10
Cyborg - 10/10
Flash - 9/10
Aquaman - 5/10
Superman - 6/10
Wonder Woman - 2/10 - I'll say this again. This is bad casting. The woman can't act, doesn't have a charming personality - and forced everyone on that island of Amazon to learn her own idiotic accent.

The main problem still exists from the last one... this movie, like all of Snyder's in the DCEU, are just trying to do too much. Think about it, in 3 movies we went from the Superman's origin, to BvsS, to Death of Superman, to his resurrection. We didn't even get ONE movie of him just fighting Earth villains and working at the Daily Planet. And Batman is still the world's worst detective telling everyone around him his secret identity. The movie could be 30-60 minutes shorter if all of the slo-mo scenes set to Snyder's favorite music were played at normal speed. The best part is Cyborg, though his face weirdly looks like it a bad deep fake most of the movie, and it's a shame, because of WB hi-jinks, we will probably never get a continuation of his story. The massive battle on Earth is cool. The ending is very cool and could lead to something awesome, if it ever happens, but again, Snyder is firing on all cylinders trying to get to the next big Superman story. One last thing, the new re-design of some of these characters kind of reminds of Bay's Transformers, where they are over-designed with a million chittering moving parts, in mostly Steppenwolf and Cyborg. But that's not surprising because they are so similar as film makers. Expand

As if the Avengers films weren't already too long already, I like a movie that can tell a good story in 1.5-2.5 hours, tops. Any longer, and it becomes exposition, unless it's something based on truth, like Gettysburg, where there's a CLEAR intermission. I know Snyder did not want to leave his film, and I see this as his return to form, but a new project would have been paramount to saying, "But no, I can make what was already good better!" Stick with the original, real cut, with Danny Elfman's excellent soundtrack, even if Steppenwolf is better as a band. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The long awaited Snyder Cut is not a bad film - it's a significant improvement over the theatrical version - but it isn't a very good one either. Only about 10% of the theatrical cut's scenes feature in this film, but the overall storyline remains the same. With a four hour runtime, there was more time to flesh out the story. A more developed story, along with improved visuals and better performances, helped in turning Justice League into a watchable film.

The film has several flaws, among them the execution (which is an issue in the DC universe in general). Three major characters are introduced in this film (Aquaman, Flash, and Cyborg) alongside Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman. Outside of Cyborg, no character is given a proper arc despite the four hour runtime. There was little time left for character development with the film's lengthy story, as well as its abundance of action sequences. This issue could have been avoided had these characters been given their own solo movies before Justice League. A film is hard to enjoy if a viewer is unable to properly connect with its characters - this was the main problem with Justice League. The various fan service moments are also problematic in this movie There are several scenes, particularly in the film's epilogue, which seem to set up sequels that will never happen. These scenes unnecessarily extended the runtime and soured the experience. Questionable music choices and excessive slow-mo moments also did nothing to improve the viewing experiences.

Overall, the Snyder Cut is a significant improvement over its theatrical counterpart, and fans of Zack Snyder would thoroughly enjoy it. However, I wouldn't recommend this film to a casual viewer, due to its lengthy runtime and various underlying issues.

That doesn’t mean though that this film is perfect just because it was released. Yes the film is a MAJOR improvement over 2017’s Justice League but this film still brings some of those problems over to this film such as the poor writing. The dialogue in this film is still almost just as stilted as it was in Justice League however, there are no awful jokes to ruin the pacing of the film which I do appreciate. The writing in Justice League was god awful and this was still bad but not as bad. Gal Gadot’s, Henry Cavill’s, and Amy Adam’s performances are still just as awkward as they were in the original film. I still find some of their line delivery laughable bad but Ray Fisher’s performance was definitely an improvement because he was given an actual character this time. In the previous film, him and The Flash were just kinda there and now they have some role in the film which I did like. I do think Ray Fisher’s Cyborg is honestly the best part of the film. He’s pretty great. Stepphenwolf was better than he was in Justice League but I still felt that he was kinda one dimensional. Trust me that he isn’t as bad in Justice League but I still found him uninteresting. This runtime is absolutely not justified. It did not need to be 4 hours long because the first half is a slog to sit through. I found myself nodding off a few times and having to rewind because I didn’t know what happened. This film isn’t all bad though. Like I said, Cyborg is great and the visual effects are a huge improvement. Plus, the cinematography is pretty fantastic at points. Some of the action is well done and I did enjoy the second half of the film. Like I said, I’m happy Snyder was able to release this and I think it’s a worthy addition to the DCEU but it isn’t flawless. Check this out if you enjoy this universe or are interested in seeing what Snyder’s vision was. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I never saw the 2017 theatrical release after the bore-fest that was "Suicide Squad", but I watched "BvS: The Ultimate Edition" in preparation for the Snyder Cut so as to refresh myself on the characters. Suffice to say, it's actually pretty good. The characters were very interesting to me for once (Cyborg in particular has much better development as a character compared to what I've heard about the "Josstice" version) the action and story all feel easier to follow, and the return of Superman coupled with Flash's amazing "Time Reversal" scene during the final battle with Steppenwolf really do wonders.

If I had any real issues, I'd say the scene with Iris West at the Vet's Office and the scene where Vulko tries to give Arthur his mother's spear felt like they didn't really add anything to the main story and so didn't have much reason to be there. Also, as much as I enjoyed seeing the Martian Manhunter in this movie, the decision to include him in the epilogue is kind of ruined by the fact that it happens immediately after another "Knightmare" sequence that I personally felt just dragged the ending out for too long.

Overall, the Snyder Cut isn't perfect, nor is it my favorite movie from Snyder (that's "Man of Steel"); but considering the reception to "Josstice League" and the shenanigans that led to its existence, I would MUCH rather spend another four hours watching this again than spend almost two hours watching something that tried (and failed) to emulate "Marvel's the Avengers".

They literally shot the whole movie for widescreen and intentionally went back and reformatted to an Imax format (4:3) for EXCLUSIVE release on a STREAMING service, where the VAST, VAST majority of people watch on widescreen TV's. So 1/3 of the screen is black bars and looks like a VHS movie from the 90's. Just boggles my mind. It's AWFUL. And the sound for me was all over the place. One second it's whisper quiet dialogue, the next my room is shaking. I normally watch stuff on my TV at 18-20 volume. I had to crank this up to 55-60. Could be a thing on my end, but I've had this TV for 3 years now and NEVER had volume issues like this. Just THIS movie. The movie itself tries to be a live action baroque art installation, which can be cool, in moderation, but after every single shot being this way, it can be easy to roll your eyes and stop caring. It's got it's ups and downs. If you have a low tolerance for nonsense, this isn't your movie. It doesn't even really try to be grounded in reality, which for me, just makes me not care. It's mostly just mindless, heavily stylized, nonsense. Would not recommend. Expand

Primero de todo: ¿Es una buena película? Lo es. ¿Era necesaria? No, punto.

He puts you in uncomfortable situations. But after watching them, you come out shaken. You feel it was all worth it -the demands, the discomfort, the tears-, cause it means something. He makes art that matters. That’s why I love him.

As a Snyder fan I'm so glad this movie has seen the light of day. I didn’t fight for it as hard as some other fans, but I added my grain of sand, with the hashtags and lots of word-of-mouth. That been said, my feelings for this movie are… mixed to say the least. ZSJL might be my least favorite Snyder film.

I read some critiques saying that this movie is very extravagant. Well, besides some musical moments, there’s nothing extravagant about it. And I wish there was.
IMO it can't hold a candle to most of Snyder’s filmography, specially MoS and BvS (one of my favorite movies of all time). I would put ZSJL on the same level as Legends of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole.

If I had to describe the DC-Snyder Trilogy, I would describe MoS as a realistic sci-fi/philosophical story, and BvS as a realistic sci-fi/political/philosophical story.

ZSJL is a fantasy/superhero story. Zack will have the masses on his side with this one, and that makes me happy for him. But speaking as a selfish person here (and I know I might sound like a pretentious **** ZSJL lacks that demanding, complex, sometimes painful nature of most of his work. It's a bit too easy. It’s just not ballsy or weird enough for me, and that's precisely why I didn't like it so much. And that's exactly why the world will, for the most part, love it.

Here’s a somewhat petty list of things I didn’t like about ZSJL:
-I find the themes of this movie (faith, fathers, unity) not very interesting
-Not enough Superman/Clark
-That ominous warning against resuscitating Clark, and the moral question of ‘is it ok to play with life and death?’, to finally just say ‘yeah, I guess’
-Only one substantial Martha scene, and is not even Martha
-The fantasy tone clashes with the realistic tone of MOS & BVS
-Poor dialogue for Terrio's standards
-Pretty generic score
-The similarities to LOTR only remind me of a better set of movies (LOTR trilogy)
-As a narrator, Gal is no Cate Blanchett -All the talk about “darkness” and “evil” and Darkseid's masterplan sound like a generic fantasy plot
-No ambiguity, no complexity
-Batman looks a bit awkward and uncomfortable in his bat-suit
-Bland fight choreographies
-Hard to suspend my disbelief
-Didn't care much for Arthur, and even less for Mera
-Bruce flaunting his fortune was (although in character) a little tacky
-The two **** and the blood were honestly a little unnecessary in such a kid-friendly film

Here’s a list of all the things I DID like about ZSJL:
-Leto’s Joker and that Mad Max future
-The Amazons vs Steppenwolf
-Clark playing with that butterfly
-Superman's resurrection
-That embrace between Clark and Lois (specially Cavill’s performance in that scene)
-Bruce’s infatuation with Superman & his devotion to (the idea of) him
-That little music video where Arthur walks in slomo while waves crash against him
-Flash/Barry (he is adorable)
-That first scene between Barry and his father
-Cyborg
-Victor's father
-The humor was tasteful and just enough
-There’s a lot of caring and tenderness between the characters
-The 4 hs fly by
-All the heroes felt very powerful
-"I'm not broken, and I'm not alone"

I really can’t understand why WB didn’t put out this movie in the first place instead of that tacky, raunchy, soulless thing directed by Whedon in 2017. If they had edited out the musical moments, and trimmed it a little to make it shorter, the studio could have released this film back then and it would have been a hit, with both audience and critics, like it is now. ZSJL is everything the critics and general audience wanted from Snyder’s films (a more light-hearted tone, more hope, more straightforward narrative, more humor). There was no need to call another writer/director to change the film. Not only what the studio did to Snyder and his movie was immoral, it was also stupid. I can’t believe they deemed ZSJL “unwatchable”. The only unwatchable version is Whedon’s.

ZSJL It’s a solid, inspirational, honest film full of heart, and it’s highly superior to most of the films in the superhero genre. It’s just not my cup of tea, and I genuinely think it is one of Snyder’s worst films. He can do so much better than this. He has. For that reason, and because I only rate things based on my personal taste, I gave this film the rating I did. But as much as it let me down, I do recommend it to all superhero/fantasy fans out there. I think most of you will enjoy it.

This movie feels like a 4 hours video game cut scene. Still, very generic villain look and motivation, fake looking CGI and awkward one-liner.

Totally different movie than 1st release. Worth the watch, the decision making at Warner bros is astonishingly poor. Great job ZS!

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. While it is not a good movie it is also not a bad movie. Snyder’s justice league is a lot better than the the original but it still fails in a lot of the same ways. The villain is better but still not very good. The new scenes with the flash and cyborg do add a lot and improve the story but I’m still not a fan of their characterization, and when Superman returns the movie still loses everything it’s worked towards in regards of the villain. And I think we can all agree now that Jared Letos joker should not return. In conclusion Justice league is a fine movie and I give it a 5.3/10 Expand

According to the movie released in 2017, it is a high-end production. But still, the cyborg has a very boring narrative. That's why I'm giving 6.

From riding a horse, to taking off a shirt, to drinking, to simple turning around.

But a lot of fans won't be bothered no matter the quality - so if you love comics, watch it. If you like good directing and cinematography, watch it if you have nothing else to do.
If you value your time; you lose nothing from skipping it.

Maybe better than the previous in some ways, but not worth 4 hrs.

For better or for worse, this is Snyder's uncompromised vision—and all the muted colours and self-indulgent grandiosity that come along with it.

The film benefits greatly from the insane length by providing some much needed context for many of the disjointed plot points found in the original cut. Victor in particular gets a lot more screen time and feels like a far more fleshed out character. I can see why Ray Fisher was so upset since virtually his entire arc was plucked out of original cut. But the length is a double-edged sword: the film is actually coherent and contains stronger characterization but many scenes drag on for way too long and it often felt like a slog to get through. Snyder always had an obsession with slow motion but here it is exacerbated to a hilarious degree. I swear if you took out most of the excessive slow-mo (essentially any scenes that didn't involve Barry) and the tacked-on ending you could easily shave over half an hour off the final product. As a result it would be much more palatable. But this is what Snyder wanted and this is what his fans wanted. I hope you're satisfied.

This isn't the holy grail of superhero movies. Much of it feels like it wants to stand tall as some kind of massive, important monolith of the genre. Meanwhile it still suffers from many of the same issues that plague Snyder's other projects. Junkie XL's new score is appropriately bombastic but even that can get overbearing. Did we really have to hear a woman wailing every time Diana does something badass? It verges on self-parody. And even with the hindsight of DC movies that have been released in the meantime, they didn't address the continuity errors with Aquaman. For that matter, why does Amber Heard have a British accent now? She never did before. At least it doesn't contain maddening levels of character assassination like Snyder's previous movies in this series, so that's a point in its favour. Though I didn't see the need to revisit Batman's homicidal nightmares again towards the conclusion. It feels like he took some of the past criticism to heart and I'm glad he got to see this through to the end after experiencing such a terrible family tragedy.

Do I like it? Not really, but I'm happy that a major studio allowed a filmmaker's vision to come to fruition in the end. But if you really want to see a few hours of the Justice League I would say you're way better off watching a season of the animated series.
