So, I have very mixed feelings about this but since LOTR, it's only movie worth 3+ hours of watching (sorry Zack, I don't like Watchmen) and only version of Justice League that should exist

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. A good superhero movie, in fact I thought it was fantastic, obviously it has its many mistakes but I thought everything was very good. Let's start talking about the cyborg * Totally * huffed and puffed in this movie, I never saw this character like that ... cold, calculating and before Superman appeared he could easily be convinced that I was the strongest, I even thought it was strange. Superman kkkkkkkkk the man is totally the owner of everything, he has all powers, there is no competition against this guy ... everything is weak for him and I don't know how good this is, but I liked that after he appeared the film finally started walk. Flash ... speechless ... I took away the prejudice against this actor and character in this film, he really participated in the plot very well. Wonder Woman has a lot to talk about ... Batman was a surgeon did what he should have done but I still don’t wear his suit. Finally and less importantly aquaman who showed that he really only has muscles, because he doesn't even use his power during the final arc The villain found it very good! But as I said after Superman appears, the competition is over, he was nerfed in the end. The film was worth its 4 hours I liked the modifications made by zack snyder who convinced me that I could save this film.

I recognize that while we have been treated to a new level of excellence in the genre over the past decade, the majority of what is released, especially by DC comics, is simply another comic book movie. While this film is largely the sameI recognize that while we have been treated to a new level of excellence in the genre over the past decade, the majority of what is released, especially by DC comics, is simply another comic book movie. While this film is largely the same story as the original theatrical release only at twice the duration make no mistake; this is not just another superhero film. The additional footage is seamlessly added to the original journey of Bruce Wayne to recruit more heroes to face an imminent threat from an ancient, interstellar threat. True humanity, global stakes and high drama contribute to the scope of what can only be described as a proper epic. Justice League was written by Chris Terrio, Will Beall, and Zack Snyder and directed by Snyder. It stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ray Fisher, Jason Momoa, and Ezra Miller as the heroes of the Justice League. Supporting characters include Amy Adams as Lois, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, Connie Nielson as Queen Hippolyta, Joe Morton as Silas Stone, and Amber Heard as Mera. Jesse Eisenberg and Jared Leto reprise their villainous roles of Lex Luthor and the Joker in brief. Again, the story opens with a world in mourning over the death of Superman, and Bruce Wayne’s impossible quest to find more super-powered beings to protect the planet in the absence of Kal-El. Diana has also returned to her life as a simple museum researcher, only occasionally appearing as Wonder Woman to battle pockets of terror as they appear. Unknown to them both, the threat to Earth is beyond imminent, and the need to build a team of strength and number is already at hand. Steppenwolf, a warrior of immense power from outside our galaxy has come to the island of Themiscyra to pry from the Amazons a “Mother Box.” This is an ancient item of mystical strength that when paired with two other boxes in the possession of Atlantis and surface humans, will foretell the return of world-conqueror Darkseid. Steppenwolf does indeed procure the first box from the Amazons and quickly turns his attention to Atlantis, and the surface world, to obtain the final two, and bring sure destruction to the planet. The additional time is not wasted in this film. Yes, it feels like a four-hour movie, and you will sometimes wonder if the new material is what you have seen before, for the genius of editing. Great care is given to the introductions and origins of Flash, Cyborg, and Aquaman. The additional footage of these characters becomes absolutely critical to the film and one will not be able to view the origins presented in the first film without knowing so much is missing. The family and romantic ties of these three newest Justice Leaguers is often tender, and sometimes enraged. These become not only characters in a film, but flawed and frightened human beings uncertain of their roles in the larger world nevertheless a superhero team. Supporting characters such as Lois Lane, Alfred, Gordon, Martha Kent and Mera are also expanded to connect them to the larger epic. One can sympathize with Ray Fisher’s displeasure when the true level of how much his character had been abridged in the theatrical release is realized. The new movie no longer begins with the low droning “Hallelujah” of the original release, although a variation of the song appears in the end credits. Instead, the earlier scenes revealing the many characters are beautifully framed by the haunting chords of lovely folk-style music in full harmony. This is one of the most remarkable soundtracks in recent memory, both mellow and intense, and leading to a powerful score toward the later battles. We are treated to more respectful effects, from the appearance of Steppenwolf, to the vast apocalyptic landscapes created slowly, branching out to much larger visions. The extra time given to cinematography is not wasted. The saga of Superman and his rebirth is also given the time it deserves, simplified by a more thorough explanation, and given much higher drama as a result. The love of Zack Snyder for this world and these heroes, however, is the heart of the story. Zack is responsible for the cinematic entry of 300 of course, as well as many of the contemporary entries of the DC Cinematic Universe. Justice League, this cut, the Snyder Cut, is very clearly his opus. Epic in its scale, this is a superhero movie that takes itself seriously, even more so than the Infinity Saga and Endgame with all of their death and despair. Even Dark Knight wasn’t “so serious” after all. Snyder’s triumph isn’t in just making a better Justice League movie, but in making the one we deserved all along. It's not only his obvious love for the humanity of these characters he plays with that endures, but his clear love for the humanity of the audience. I think I would like to see many more superhero films taken this seriously. Hopefully Warner Brothers, and even Disney, is paying attention. Expand

I began this movie thinking there is no way they could fix the atrocity of the original Whedon Justice League (2017) but I have always been a huge Zack Snyder fan, so I had some sort of hope that the movie would be at least watchable. it is astonishing that anyone at WB actually let them release the original film in 2017. if this movie had been released in the theatres it would have been a billion dollar movie.
The visuals in this film are incredible. the soundtrack is powerful. They turned cyborg and flash, two of the worst characters in comic book movie history. and they actually made them have a purpose in this. I thought cyborg was the worst superhero in any blockbuster I had ever seen 4 years ago. but they just cut out all of his good scenes and tried to make him funny, This movie fixes that. The flash went from the most disappointing character in the entire DCEU and turned him into my favorite in the franchise.
The Awful humor and jokes made for a 10 year old are gone, they made batman feel like batman should. Without spoilers, the ending scene with the flash is one of my favorite comic book film moments ever. One of the biggest things people should note from this film is Joss Whedon is an awful director and what he released 4 years ago is a sin. My only true grievance with this movie is the aspect ratio. I wish I could experience this film on an Imax with a crowd of people but that isn't Snyder's fault. There was one cameo that really wouldn't make much sense to a non comic book fan. and I think they could have been written a little better. This movie will be remembered. I have made a promise to myself to never watch the 2017 JL again because this is better in every aspect. DC needs to stop trying to be like marvel. their worst movies are the ones more family friendly. This movie is a love note to DC fans.

While sure there are still some problems with the movie, mainly for me the large amount of slow-mos, it still provides an enjoyable experience that feels stanchly different from other super hero movies of this era. Comparing this to the original justice league who's post production was handled by Joss Whedon it shows how much better it would have been if Zack Snyder was still in charge. Overall Zack Snyder's Justice League is the best movie that dc has put out coming only second to the Dark Knight with the Snyder cut improving on many characters and the overall story. Expand

The CGI is quite good, minus when [redacted] shows up at the end, that definitely could have used an extra month or two.

The sound track is very good, my only gripe is that there is one rock song that is quite jarring to go into and out. But overall, very good.

The character, vilians and protagonist alike, are so much better and have actual purpose and emotion.

The plot actually makes sense, it's not just Stepenwolf yelling "MOTHER!", there is actual motivation and stakes in the movie.

The fight scenes are amazing, they really show the power of these characters and its all choreographed really well. It is absolutely worth a watch, if you are one of the people that just can't sit through no matter what, it's broken into parts. If you stop at the end of part 4 beggining of part 5, that's ~2H20min inot the movie and provides a good break point.

This movie is better than Whedon's 2017 version in every single aspect. EVERY SINGLE ASPECT. Every character is way more fleshed out and you can understand they're motives and why they do the things they do in this movie. This movie is surprisingly lighter in tone, much more lighter than I expected. Steppenwolf, who was so bad in the 2017 version, is so much better in ZSJL. You can understand his motives, why he's on Earth, how he came to Earth and his motives that drive him forward. Even Darkseid, who I thought would just be a small cameo, his threat looms over the movie throughout. The sad thing is, this movie will currently be compared to a completely inferior film for quite sometime since there will be a lot of people who watched both versions. It is sometimes jarring to remember how it went in the 2017 version and how it goes in ZSJL. Cyborg's entire arc is different. Joss Whedon reshot Cyborg the most, I think every single scene except maybe one. Ray Fisher did a great job and you care for Cyborg and Victor Stone. The movie actually depends on Cyborg since he drives the plot. People were a bit worried about the CGI, but man, the CGI is done so well, for Cyborg, Steppenwolf, Darkseid etc. There might be a few scenes here and there that might look a bit odd due to the green screen, but that happens usually in all big block buster superhero movies. Not as egregious as the Black Panther final fight, or the floating heads of War Machine and Banner/Hulk Buster. Every single action sequence is longer and makes so much sense with what everyone does. Every character has a shining moment. Even though it was 4 hours long, it went by so quick for me. You just want to keep watching even though the movie has 6 chapters and an Epilogue. The pacing is very well done that you never look at the time or how much time is left in the movie. Even the slow moments keep you wanting to watch it, and it is mixed well with the faster paced action moments. By the time the credits started to roll, I just wanted so much more. I want them to make more movies that continue this story. Some minor things I can complain about is some music choices during some scenes. The music didn't match with some of the scenes and wished it was done a bit better. The overall music score is better, and the Justice League theme is so catchy. Zack Snyder could have easily made this a 3 hour version and released it in 2017. I cannot believe that WB decided to force the 2 hour mandate on him. I cannot believe the decisions that WB made. They butchered this movie and the DCEU connected universe by the decisions they made in 2017. I really hope that they let Zack Snyder continue this story, because it was leading to something so interesting and good. Expand

It explores a much darker side of superheroes and honestly humanizes these characters that have always been portrayed as godly beings, and it makes you sympathize with them in a way I don’t think Marvel ever really tried to do (I say that as a hardcore Marvel fan). I was worried about the length because it didn’t have ~20 years of movies to pull together like Endgame did to necessarily warrant it being so long, but the depth of the movie really makes you wish it just kept going when you know you’ve hit the end. Endgame’s conclusion is sad because you know that time period is over, but Snyder’s end is sad because you know that period is just beginning and will likely never really be explored in the way it was in this film. The versions of these characters that Snyder went with, specifically Batman, are so much more in depth than their previous versions. The Dark Knight trilogy is some of the best filmmaking I’ve ever seen, but Snyder’s Batman is a more humanized version who displays a sort of empathy and understanding that Nolan’s Bruce Wayne disregarded to explore the sadder side of the Dark Knight. The rest of the Justice League (Flash, Aquaman, Cyborg, Wonder Woman, and one other I won’t spoil) have yet to be fully explored, or even realized, by DC and I hope they replicate Snyder’s formula and expand on what he did here because he did it so well. The characters and their personal but interconnected stories make you wish that by the end you had another 4 hours to go deeper into all of it, and the ending itself leaves you wanting another 4 hours to just keep exploring what’s going to happen next. All in all, Snyder’s Justice League was incredibly well done and looking past a few corny lines, was a near perfect superhero movie and definitely channeled the passion of the fans who wanted it and the director who made it. 9/10, a MUST WATCH for superhero fans! Snyder’s version greatly benefits from the extra runtime, and as such the story is far more coherent. It leaves you wondering how Whedon could ever in his right mind have made the decision cut so much of the footage, when most of the newly released footage is better than what was left the theatrical cut. As well as the overall improved coherence, the battle sequences are especially improved. It beggars belief how this cut can’t now be seen as canon. After watching it, you can’t go back and see the theatrical cut the same, it is almost laughable in comparison. WB will have a real tough time on their hands if they were now to try continue the story of the Justice League from the cut they released theatrically. If Snyder’s cut doesn’t get a sequel or two after that cliff hanger, I will be gutted!!! Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The first half of this film felt like it dragged on a bit, but the 2nd half was incredible. There were actualy stakes now, as the mother boxes and Steppenwolf/Darkseid were explained in detail. The soundtrack really helped elevate the tension. In the original theatrical release the heroes fighting Superman felt cheesy and comical at times. In the Snyder Cut the fight had a lot more build up and was filled with tension, it was the opposite of cheesy and slapstick.

The soundtrack did get a little repetitive at times, such as Wonder Womans music. Some of the effects weren't that great. I found the film to be a wonderful watch, only dragged down by repetitive music and some effects not looking too great.

The movie was brilliant I believe if it was shorter we would’ve lost the true connection between each character origin and how they came together to contribute to the true end goal. There was some shots that the camera needed some work (balancing) but when compared to the 2017 movie of the same exact story it was like listening to a child summarizing an even vs seeing what happened first hand. I loved the movie and I really hope a sequel is in the pipeline. Expand

TheThe Justice League I've been waiting for and it never disappoints moviegoers, cinephiles, and ordinary audience alike. Unconventional storytelling and inventive narration makes it an outstanding movie and is breaking a new genre. The cinematography is like ripped out images from National Geographic Magazine and the never-before-heard-type of score elevates the movie experience into a whole new level. The character development and each heroes' story arc gave it heart and warmth in contrast to its huge worldbuilding, its huge scope and the stakes are high. The only problem here is the length of this movie, clocking at almost 4 hours and is a bit too much especially adding the unnecessary shots and several slo-mo scenes. This is DC's best and biggest movie yet. Don't need to compare this since it is infinitely times greater than the theatrical cut. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I can't say that I'm a huge Snyder fan, but I have truly enjoyed his takes on Watchmen, Man of Steel & Batman V Superman. I honestly enjoyed the direction the DCEU was heading in, I just wanted a few tweaks here & there.
But to say that I wasn't excited for his take on Justice League would be an under statement. So to learn that he had stepped down & Joss Whedon would be taking it over made me more than a little bit nervous. Especially knowing their drastically different tones. Finally seeing the finished product, well I was severely disappointed as it seemed everyone else was. I enjoyed very small pieces of the 2017 cut. I figured that was it for big screen Justice League movies for the foreseeable future...but I was wrong.
#ReleaseTheSnyderCut started trending & appearing everywhere & we finally after 3+ long years got Snyder's original vision without studio interference (which seems super rare nowadays) & it was amazing!
It expanded on every character. Ray Fisher got the respect he deserved after his treatment from Whedon. I truly didn't care about any one outside of the main DC Trinity since we hadn't been able to get to now them, but we did here & I fell in love with all of the characters! There wasn't obviously bad CGI, for the most part it all looked really great. The villains, big & small, each got more development. Introducing 2 new heroes that were hidden away in the DCEU was amazing! Ryan Choi being a fun 1 with so much possibility. Martian Manhunter being the standout cameo! So much more depth & development for literally everyone. It was nice to not have Wonder Woman as a sex object like Whedon tried to make her. We finally got so many of the amazing deleted scenes that featured Cyborg, Flash, Iris West, Mera & so many others.
The 1 big thing that bothered me is the "Lois is the Key" set ups. I NEED to know why she's so important to the future of the DCEU!
All I have to say is #ReleaseTheSnyderCutPart2!

At a little over 4 hours, this film gives you everything you'd want and more out of DC's most popular heroes. Delivered with great pacing, acting, and dialog, along with a story that isn't completely original, but well executed and well directed by the visionary mind of Zack Snyder, in a format that is very playback friendly, Justice League is going to leave you famished and looking forward to dessert, hopefully in the form of more offerings from what is aptly dubbed "Snyderverse". An absolute triumph of a film from start to finish. Expand

Much better than the 2017 version, the 2017 was so bad i didnt even remember what it was about, now i was able to comprehend what was happening, an average user that does not know much about the characters might be still confused, but an entry level one like me was able to understand it. The coloring makes it a bit more serious and some cringe jokes were removed, the characters are now more in-depht and the justice league finally works as a team, instead of superman doing 99% of the job. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Fantastic movie, would recommend. That being said, the epilogue was very messy and a lot of it was just fan service, plus the introduction of the Martian manhunter was somewhat ham fisted, but every scene from the original was presented better in this one. Every new scene was excellent, and the plot was much much better. Nevermind that the look of steppenwoIf was LEAGUES better in this version. If this movie had come out originally they'd be working on JL 3 by now. Seeing this makes me want a sequel. The only good thing about the original that wasn't better in this movie was the scene with aqua man walking down the dock to Icky Thump. That was just bad ass. Expand

This film is worthy of the word, epic. It's epic length, epic content and epic ambition. It's proof you don't need 10+ stand alones to introduce characters before you go big and you don't need to sacrifice the drama for comedy.
Batfleck is boss, Cyborg broke my heart, Barry can move in with me, Supes is getting scary (interesting), Arthur....I'm gonna keep this family friendly. Which leaves Diana. WW is the weak link in a very strong chain. Her action scenes are near flawless, but that's basically it. It's not even that she's OP, it's that she's bland as a character. Too good, too right, too perfect...she's not a character, she's a skill set who's handy for exposition. However this is easy to overlook when there's so much else going on and like I say watching her fight is a joy. I hope ZS gets a chance to continue this vision as I trust him now to do these characters justice

I really want more in the DC universe!

Cons: Aspect ratio, some unnecessary scenes (mostly at the beginning), and maybe along with that, some unnecessary song choices for said scenes.

Four hours really isn’t that long, and if you enjoy it, time will absolutely fly. But if you’re on the fence because of it, you can always break it in to its parts, which Snyder did.

The shooting is more consistent and never feels like it's making awkward jumps between the shots and missing important context. The soundtrack is more appropriate. The narrative actually holds itself together. The characters feel like actual characters now, and all contribute to the narrative and action in a meaningful way. We're also without all of Whedons grubby fingerprints this time around. No awkward Season One BTVS level dialogue when Superman and Lois reunite. No horrendous eye offending mess of CGI plaguing the finale and Henry Cavils face. No uncomfortable physical comedy, and no obviously hastily reshot scenes with an out of shape - and visibly very PO'ed at being dragged back from his vacation - Ben Affleck. And honestly it was painful seeing how badly Whedons cuts damaged the flow of the movie. The man literally butchered the scenes on Themyscara. Snyder absolutely knew what he was doing with the Amazons in his cut, and they really shine despite thier limited appearances. The film isnt perfect. Theres an overreliance on dream sequences, some shots can last uncomfortably too long, and some of the scenes setting up sequels we may never see come to fruition seem very forced in thier inclusion. The length is also very intimidating, and it does feel like the film could probably have shaved another half hour off at a push, but such is the consequence of a single film having to do the work of multiple origin movies and a crossover all at once. And the film is a very Snyder film. If you love his dark, washed out world aesthetic and action scenes that verge on being a love letter to 300, you're in for a treat. But if you arent a fan of that style, your mileage may vary. But the biggest takeaway compared to the Whedon cut was that I actually enjoyed watching this. There were scenes that genuinely touched me. Action scenes that were incredibly satisfying to watch. And a very clear love and respect for the source material shining through. It left me feeling optimistic that the DCEU may finally find its feet now, because in the right hands it evidently still has a lot to offer. So if you're a fan of DC, Snyder or just fun, satisfying action movies with some heart in its subplots, then you should really give this a chance. Yes the run time is intimidating, but that really doesn't matter considering its released on home streaming services. Get comfy, take a break I'd you need it and enjoy yourself. The film is split into several parts anyway, so you can treat it as a miniseries and watch it intermittently. It's honestly 4 hours well worth spending =) Expand

Significantly different (and improved) from the theatrical release. Absolutely pleased as a comic book fan that the film was shot in a graphic novel-esk way. Snyder's amendments to the film give it depth and character. There is a deeper levelSignificantly different (and improved) from the theatrical release. While not Perfect is the close! bring on Justice League 2, please! Infinitely better than the previous version. DC is not MARVEL! it's good to have a different tone. highly recommend, to all those that like the UNIVERSE of Man of Steel.

Pieza magistral que completa la peculiar visión de Snyder sobre los superheroes de DC haciéndole justicia a cada uno de ellos.
