This movie has nothing to do with the first release. Yes the story is basically the same, but it gains so much more. In terms of characters, feelings and intelligence, the story is more dense. Cyborg is the one that benefits from that movie. The FX are also a good evolution. Steffenwolf is great to look at, and his armour is simply spectacular. The music is finally done by JunkieXXL, and it's one of the best part in the Cut. I like the episodes but the length made me struggle a bit. I didn't like the 4:3 format. I though it was a totally useless gimmick. The addition to the villains enrich the main villain story. The epilogue is good but we all know that those loose paths will never see the light of days. I give this movie a fair 75%. Which is by any means, a vastly superior product that Warner released in the first place.… Expand

Zack has done it again, by which I mean forced me into a time loop where i am doomed to relive the same day I watched this film. With each loop, I wonders I am projecting the film or if the film is projecting me? i watch through my eyeballs through the television, then watch myself watching through the television. There are two me'sh looking back at the other, shrinking the aspect ratio until I am old. and squinting on the beach. Every day I try to find and fix my mistake, but I have spent a lifetime here in this dimension watching this film....… Expand

This is the true Justice League we should've watched in 2017. Its packed with action a lot of new action scenes. Steppenwolf is brutal and improved. Absolute fun and does what a DC comics should have been. Cyborg and The Flash is the stand out. Batman and Joker is a relief after the heavy criticized Suicide Squad and BVS. It defied my lowered expectations. I have a rating already but when I saw that Flash scene at the end, +1. It's better. It got a lighter tone and it should be. I hope Warner Brothers give Zach Snyder the chance to complete his trilogy.

Every character was great but Cyborg, Flash and Steppenwolf are the biggest upgrade. "Badass" is the word that comes in mind when I think of it's villain. Third act is massive and really enjoyable. I love Snyder’s films. I love them cause they are demanding, mentally and emotionally. Because through his films he gives the audience some tough love. He doesn’t make it easy on you. He demands things from you (your complete and undividedI love Snyder’s films. I love them cause they are demanding, mentally and emotionally. Because through his films he gives the audience some tough love. He doesn’t make it easy on you. He demands things from you (your complete and undivided attention, your brain power). He puts you in uncomfortable situations. But after watching them, you come out shaken. You feel it was all worth it -the demands, the discomfort, the tears-, cause it means something. He makes art that matters. That’s why I love him.

As a Snyder fan I'm so glad this movie has seen the light of day. I didn’t fight for it as hard as some other fans, but I added my grain of sand, with the hashtags and lots of word-of-mouth. That been said, my feelings for this movie are… mixed to say the least. ZSJL might be my least favorite Snyder film.

I read some critiques saying that this movie is very extravagant. Well, besides some musical moments, there’s nothing extravagant about it. And I wish there was.
IMO it can't hold a candle to most of Snyder’s filmography, specially MoS and BvS (one of my favorite movies of all time). I would put ZSJL on the same level as Legends of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole.

If I had to describe the DC-Snyder Trilogy, I would describe MoS as a realistic sci-fi/philosophical story, and BvS as a realistic sci-fi/political/philosophical story.

ZSJL is a fantasy/superhero story. Zack will have the masses on his side with this one, and that makes me happy for him. But speaking as a selfish person here (and I know I might sound like a pretentious **** ZSJL lacks that demanding, complex, sometimes painful nature of most of his work. It's a bit too easy. It’s just not ballsy or weird enough for me, and that's precisely why I didn't like it so much. And that's exactly why the world will, for the most part, love it.

Here’s a somewhat petty list of things I didn’t like about ZSJL:
-I find the themes of this movie (faith, fathers, unity) not very interesting
-Not enough Superman/Clark
-That ominous warning against resuscitating Clark, and the moral question of ‘is it ok to play with life and death?’, to finally just say ‘yeah, I guess’
-Only one substantial Martha scene, and is not even Martha
-The fantasy tone clashes with the realistic tone of MOS & BVS
-Poor dialogue for Terrio's standards
-Pretty generic score
-The similarities to LOTR only remind me of a better set of movies (LOTR trilogy)
-As a narrator, Gal is no Cate Blanchett -All the talk about “darkness” and “evil” and Darkseid's masterplan sound like a generic fantasy plot
-No ambiguity, no complexity
-Batman looks a bit awkward and uncomfortable in his bat-suit
-Bland fight choreographies
-Hard to suspend my disbelief
-Didn't care much for Arthur, and even less for Mera
-Bruce flaunting his fortune was (although in character) a little tacky
-The two **** and the blood were honestly a little unnecessary in such a kid-friendly film

Here’s a list of all the things I DID like about ZSJL:
-Leto’s Joker and that Mad Max future
-The Amazons vs Steppenwolf
-Clark playing with that butterfly
-Superman's resurrection
-That embrace between Clark and Lois (specially Cavill’s performance in that scene)
-Bruce’s infatuation with Superman & his devotion to (the idea of) him
-That little music video where Arthur walks in slomo while waves crash against him
-Flash/Barry (he is adorable)
-That first scene between Barry and his father
-Cyborg
-Victor's father
-The humor was tasteful and just enough
-There’s a lot of caring and tenderness between the characters
-The 4 hs fly by
-All the heroes felt very powerful
-"I'm not broken, and I'm not alone"

I really can’t understand why WB didn’t put out this movie in the first place instead of that tacky, raunchy, soulless thing directed by Whedon in 2017. If they had edited out the musical moments, and trimmed it a little to make it shorter, the studio could have released this film back then and it would have been a hit, with both audience and critics, like it is now. ZSJL is everything the critics and general audience wanted from Snyder’s films (a more light-hearted tone, more hope, more straightforward narrative, more humor). There was no need to call another writer/director to change the film. Not only what the studio did to Snyder and his movie was immoral, it was also stupid. I can’t believe they deemed ZSJL “unwatchable”. The only unwatchable version is Whedon’s.

ZSJL It’s a solid, inspirational, honest film full of heart, and it’s highly superior to most of the films in the superhero genre. It’s just not my cup of tea, and I genuinely think it is one of Snyder’s worst films. He can do so much better than this. He has. For that reason, and because I only rate things based on my personal taste, I gave this film the rating I did. But as much as it let me down, I do recommend it to all superhero/fantasy fans out there. I think most of you will enjoy it.… Expand

Just Good, nothing new, the text is still bad and the extra scenes we can see a cleary lack of direction from the Director to the actors, Dialogues are bad. Add that 1h 9f slow camera and we have a 4hour film.

It is an amazing movie and clearly shows that WB **** up. Given full creative control Snyder can make an amazing movie. The saddest part of the movie is knowing that his plan won't ever come and I see it as one hell of a waste.

Amazing and a huge improved upgrade from the theatrical version we received. Motives are explained and backstories are given so we understand and feel invested with characters. Filme razoável/bom, arrastado demais no começo, 4h de filme e alguns personagens ficaram faltando mais desenvolvimento, trilha sonora melhorou em comparação a versão de 2017 mas foi muito mal usada em várias cenas(aquele grito toda hora que a mulher maravilha aparecia tava irritante de tanto repetitivo), vilão só ganhou o mínimo de motivação e continua o bananão de cgi. Ciborgue ficou muito bom, flash apesar de demorar muito pra atingir o ápice ele funciona bem quando atinge, aquaman é praticamente um observador e não desenvolve muito na trama, superman quase não tem falas e desenvolvimento mas pelo menos de lutas e momentos bons… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I can't say that I'm a huge Snyder fan, but I have truly enjoyed his takes on Watchmen, Man of Steel & Batman V Superman. I honestly enjoyed the direction the DCEU was heading in, I just wanted a few tweaks here & there.
But to say that I wasn't excited for his take on Justice League would be an under statement. So to learn that he had stepped down & Joss Whedon would be taking it over made me more than a little bit nervous. Especially knowing their drastically different tones. Finally seeing the finished product, well I was severely disappointed as it seemed everyone else was. I enjoyed very small pieces of the 2017 cut. I figured that was it for big screen Justice League movies for the foreseeable future...but I was wrong.
#ReleaseTheSnyderCut started trending & appearing everywhere & we finally after 3+ long years got Snyder's original vision without studio interference (which seems super rare nowadays) & it was amazing!
It expanded on every character. Ray Fisher got the respect he deserved after his treatment from Whedon. I truly didn't care about any one outside of the main DC Trinity since we hadn't been able to get to now them, but we did here & I fell in love with all of the characters! There wasn't obviously bad CGI, for the most part it all looked really great. The villains, big & small, each got more development. Introducing 2 new heroes that were hidden away in the DCEU was amazing! Ryan Choi being a fun 1 with so much possibility. Martian Manhunter being the standout cameo! So much more depth & development for literally everyone. It was nice to not have Wonder Woman as a sex object like Whedon tried to make her. We finally got so many of the amazing deleted scenes that featured Cyborg, Flash, Iris West, Mera & so many others.
The 1 big thing that bothered me is the "Lois is the Key" set ups. I NEED to know why she's so important to the future of the DCEU!

That being said, the epilogue was very messy and a lot of it was just fan service, plus the introduction of the Martian manhunter was somewhat ham fisted, but every scene from the original was presented better in this one. Every new scene was excellent, and the plot was much much better. Nevermind that the look of steppenwoIf was LEAGUES better in this version. If this movie had come out originally they'd be working on JL 3 by now. Seeing this makes me want a sequel. The only good thing about the original that wasn't better in this movie was the scene with aqua man walking down the dock to Icky Thump. That was just bad ass.… Expand
