This move is cinema. It's a masterpiece with perfect music choices (flash one is so good) the characters developpement is amazing ( hello cyborg ) Steppenwolf is way better than in justice League of Waden etc... Perfect.

Ive seen the whedons cut and this version isnt different at all. It lasted four hours for so many slowmos and unnecessary scenes that gives cringe feelings. This is over dramatized and the background music doesnt fit some of the scenes at all.

An amazing movie. It's so rare to not feeling dull watching a 4 hr plus movie. I enjoyed every minute of it and never felt the time. I'm so glad the compain to realese this version succeeded & i hope to see where the story goes from here.

It takes itself too seriously sometimes, there are still some head-scratchers and silly moments (a holo of superman flying off a mother box? too many group 'hero' poses, etc) but the movie is much more tonally consistent with the first two, the characters get the breathing room they need to make you care about them, the main villain is no longer such a ridiculous caricature, and the set pieces are much better and more bad-assed than the original. The ending sets up some interesting ways forward that I'm sorry I'll probably never be able to see, and that's a shame because this movie, for all its four hours plus running time, is finally the movie it was supposed to be, and I will never watch the original Whedon version again. This one has forever taken its place as the true sequel to Batman V Superman.… Expand

Thus, Zack did with Zack Snyder's Justice League, creating a new paradigm of how to tell superhero stories. The film is just incredible. I watched it twice to be sure, and the hours fly by. For me, the best movie ever! A true masterpiece! My grade is 10/10, but there is only one criticism: Martian Manhunter's CGI could be better, but I don't think it's fair to impact the grade due to the low budget of the film for CGI.… Expand

wow... I did not expect to rate this so highly but man... this is the best thing Snyder has released since Watchmen.
I watched the original justice league and thought it was ok... it felt a little pointless. Like it was just rushed especiallywow... I did not expect to rate this so highly but man... this is the best thing Snyder has released since Watchmen.
I watched the original justice league and thought it was ok... it felt a little pointless. Like it was just rushed especially since it was introducing so many new heroes and villains.

The snyder cut actually gave the characters backstories... suddenly Cyborg is really likable because he's not just a moody tin man. Now we can sympathize with what he's experienced. He has a fully fleshed out arc... in fact all the characters do. There is solid foreshadowing as well. The villains also have motivations now too. It's simple enough in that Darkseid is just super evil but they really highlight how enormously powerful and terrifying that dude is. I also love the new characters they introduced like martian manhunter.

Overall.. Zach Snyder did something that seemed impossible... he made me care about these characters and he actually made me want more from this universe. So my hat is off to the man. I figured his version would be better.. never imagined it would actually be so exciting. Here's hoping we see more of these characters. I always felt bad for the cast since they must have been so excited to play such iconic characters but the whole dceu was badly managed from the start. I really feel bad for ray fisher now as well. Now we've seen the snyder cut.... damn... the original really did not do that character justice at all... fingers crossed they keep this series going. Would love to see shazam get thrown into the mix too in future installments.… Expand

It's almost like a completely different movie.

However, the buzz this film generated online was just too big to ignore though I still wasn't expecting much. I can now definitively say I'm glad I watched it.
I'll just get straight into it because unless you've been living under a rock for the last decade, you know who all the major players are.
Snyder's version is inarguably miles better than the Whedon '17 version and alot more cohesive. The story doesn't really have much depth plotwise and it's a bit of a slog but you do get more expansion into characters like Cyborg and The Flash. I really liked this because the Whedon version basically reduced their characters to cameos. I was also happy we got to see a bit more of the Amazons. They were badass and showed real heart.
Stunning costumes and cinematography were the running theme in fact, the entire film was very aesthetically pleasing. Steppenwolf's CGI makes my skin crawl but in a good way. The soundtrack however, was not great and came off as cliche most times.
The biggest problem I had with this movie though, was the dialogue. Aside from having more than a few corny lines (I honestly couldn't help but cringe at certain exchanges) the entire dialogue is terrible. Whoever wrote it deserves to be pistol whipped. It seriously impairs not only the character interactions but the overall story in what could have otherwise been a home run.
Two of the biggest highlights for me was The Flash's time defying run and the epilogue chapter. It actually follows a comic plotline and added more nuance to the story but unfortunately it doesn't look like we'll get a follow up into that due to behind the scenes issues. We can remain hopeful though that the creators will work it out (and hopefully hire someone new for the dialogue).
JL is by no means perfect but it was a highly enjoyable watch. I always tend to be a harsher critic of big budget films because there's really no excuse not to give us the best. Overall 7.5/10

Awesomely powerful movie. The first version was a big budget film, but wasn't memorable at all. But this Zack Synder version actually felt like it was an epic important war, instead of just another popcorn flick.

And the scenes with Batman's nightmare, the future with the seizure of land and the killing of almost all members of the league are masterpiece. That and all of Darkseid's stills are nearly the best in the movie.… Expand

Truly spectacular. This movie is better in every single way possible to the original. Zack Snyder has finally served up some justice. Thank you. It’s such a shame we won’t get to see some of this set-up paid fully off.

This one is ridiculously drawn out, and the majority of the runtime is buildup, and not particularly interesting buildup for that matter. Some of the action scenes are great, and that's most of what would make this movie worth a watch. Cyborgs motivations are decent as well, but no one in the cast has any chemistry. It's just a bunch of brooding people bouncing expository dialogue off each other, then the Flash makes another joke that doesn't remotely land.… Expand

It's a shame execs forced the Marvel-led cut unto us. DC's always had a darker vibe, and emulating the competition has alwaysnbeen dumb...

Really? A 9? Lol, this is literally nowhere near a 9, it's more like a 6, but as usual, the great people of MetaCritic only flood with 10's or 0's, and this definitely deserves to be knocked down a peg.
