Nothing to do with the other Justice League. The Snyder's cut is superb. Four hours without ever getting bored.

The use of color is used as if a brooding child had his way. The music was trying so hard to shoe horn in symbolism while failing utterly at being subtle. Almost every new scene screams of rushed cgi. This is by far my newest favorite movie to **** on. What a glorious mess. Was it better than the original? No, but it did make a few of the fight scenes better. Also.... the reach around scene.... truly comedic gold. Sadly I am laughing at the movie, not with it. Also, robot kid wins the moody brooding batman award. That isn't good character writing, its just annoying. The whole plot line is 'fleshed out' more this time around, by just extending the otherwise obvious absentee father troupe. So predictable… Expand

Halfway through, at chapter 4
So this part of my review halfway through. The characters are all improved and better. All the arcs have been taken great care of by snyder. The only exceptions would be the Lois Lane arc and the Commissioner Gordon character. Seeing the back story Cyborg was amazing and really puts him front and center to set up an amazing arc. Having Barry's arc more fleshed out and developed was good but not too much to save more for his feature film. There are alot of scenes I would have preferred been cut, and alot Iike in the movie that really should have been in the 2017 one. I feel like more of the scenes added are likable than unlikable, and really there aren't alot of unlikeable scenes just unnecessary ones. I also feel that the intro scenes and cgi are at times tacky but not to the point where it drastically ruins the film just something to cringe or laugh at. Chapter 3 so far has been my favorite one because we can see all the characters start to come together and blend into each other's arcs. Steppenwolf isn't a major improvement but the motives and reasons for him to be there along with the overall realization that darkseid might be the main villain is really interesting and draws you closer to being interested in the villains. I am now starting chapter 4 at exactly 1:51:35.

Part 2. The final battle was the exact opposite of the 2017 cut version. It utilizes every character to have a role. What flash did at the end opens a whole realm of possibilities not possible with the 2017 cut and if this is made the cannon cut then the flash film will have so much more to build on. Darkseid needs to return as well. And Jared Leto can play the joker when given a good script and he **** did it. The joker he played here was **** amazing. Batman and superman mirroring each other in the battle was amazing and the way they lead this team was awesome. Diana and Aquaman's ass kicking boss fight was **** great, cyborg has had the greatest role in this film and Ray Fisher needs to return to this character. This movie is the greatest comic book movie of all time. Zack Snyder took these characters and ran with them. He blended in the most surreal dark aspects of the DC universe possible and he created a wonderful film that really makes you appreciate both the original 2017 cut, and the entire DC extended universe even more. Yes this movie has unnecessarily long drawn out sequences yes it some bad cgi here and there yes there are a few cringe lines of dialogue, but this is honest to God the best super hero movie I have ever seen. Snyder cut needs to be cannon and we need a sequel.… Expand

Felt like a origin film for the flash and cyborg were needed so time and money could be spent flushing out stephanwolf aquaman and batman more. Batman was awesome but it wasn't enough. I really need this deathstroke batman movie to happen! Gal Godot still can't act. Worst part of the movies were her scenes. First off- I’m happy for all the fans of Zack Snyder’s DC movies... They wanted it and they got it and most seem very happy as a result. Myself? I’m not a fan of his of his “trilogy” of DC movies. They’re loud and bombastic and overlyFirst off- I’m happy for all the fans of Zack Snyder’s DC movies... They wanted it and they got it and most seem very happy as a result. Myself? I’m not a fan of his of his “trilogy” of DC movies. They’re loud and bombastic and overly stylized to a degree that becomes numbing to me. Couple that style with a script that is jam packed with comic book nonsense...it’s just not for me (or a general audience who isn’t into this like a die hard comic book fan). Are storylines and characters fleshed out (in comparison to the 2017 Joss Whedon hybrid)? Yes...but (to me) that’s not necessarily a good thing when the characters are still boring and bland. Cyborg is a devastating bore and his origin is given a HUGE piece of screen time and it’s ultimately uninteresting. One thing I’m curious about- THE FLASH and his introductory scene. The fans of these movies HATED the Whedon induced humor in the previous incarnation but are giving a pass to the annoyingly unfunny Pet Shop sequence? That whole scene alternated between unfunny and outright bizarre. When he saved the random girl in the car (with the STRANGE and out of place song choice)... bizarre sequence. Overall- it’s a movie that at its core is not my thing. I love a great Batman and Superman movie when the director / cast / script is right ...but this isn’t it.… Expand

The Flash and Cyborg are surprise stand outs.

First it illustrates the unequivocal truth that Joss Whedon is and has always been a talentless hack who has often fell backwards into something good on rare occasion.

This cut does proper justice to the characters and the story it sets out to convey. It is not perfect and it requires its own standard of "comic book movie" good, but for a contemporary comic book movie this cut is on par with Joker, Logan, Deadpool, The Dark Knight and the original Blade as Good comic book films out of the absolute scrap heap Whedon left of the film.

The film also illustrates the level of bias and worship that fans and the industry have for Disney. The original cut was bad but it was never terrible. Fans eviscerated it as if it were The Room. All while Disney super hero tent pole films are bland, uninspired, that lull you to sleep with how "awesome" they are just before they break into a classic Disney song and dance routine. OK that last bit is being facetious but honestly, give it another 5-10 years max before it becomes standard. But I digress. Fans rampaged over the original cut and it wasnt because it was bad so much as it was because it wasnt Disney.

Granted the original cut did a poor job overall, this cut shows just how good and truly epic these types of films can be. You can tell the overall product was a labor of love that was basically denied and delayed due to a tragedy. Its so good that honestly it made the limp wristed Whedon butchery so forgettable that outside of about 2-3 scenes it was like watching a whole new film

Speaking of tragedy it now looks as if there is the potential for this to ultimately be a take of greek tragedy proportions. With this cut being so good and setting up so much the question is can and will WB actually work to reunite this cast and make the proper followup film that now NEEDS to be made.

Dont get me wrong, the film has its flaws. A sizable lull in the middle being the most glaring but tbh with a run time of nearly 4 hours how could there not be a lull? Overall the pacing tends to be good but some of the exposition gets a bit long winded and could use a smidgen of refinement.Yet I would gladly sit through sporadically placed redundant lines of dialogue for the overall product we got. Also one other minor complaint... The musical cue for Wonder Woman needs to stop. I have no problem with character thematic movements but that track is quickly getting annoying with how they use it seemingly every single time she goes into fight mode out of all the movies she is in. (also Gadot is still the worst casting choice in comic book movie history) Change it up, Limit this one to only her most "epic" scene or at the very least change up the arrangement to provide some variance.

It takes some effort but its well worth the watch. Honestly I would suggest digesting the film in 3 sittings to help with that lull at the 2 hour mark. Makes it much easier to swallow this glut of content.

Definitely the most enjoyable thing released so far in 2021. Worth your time and money. This one film on its own is better than all the Avengers films assembled.… Expand

So, I have very mixed feelings about this but since LOTR, it's only movie worth 3+ hours of watching (sorry Zack, I don't like Watchmen) and only version of Justice League that should exist

This was really frustrating. One the one hand, it's a massive improvement over the theatrical cut. On the other hand, that's not saying much. On the other hand, that's not saying much. I've seen some people say that it's a completely different movie, but after watching it, I have to disagree. The Snyder Cut is still basically the same movie.

There's a lot to like. The added scenes make some of the events that happen make more sense, the effects are a little better, most of the bad jokes are gone, Cyborg gets a lot more to do, and yes, it is a million times better than the other cut.

However, a lot of the things that I disliked in the original are still here. Apart from Cyborg, most of the characters are still pretty bland, Steppenwolf is still very uninteresting, the action is still forgettable and I'm just not emotionally engaged enough.

There's a lot added to the movie, but a lot of it seems like it's only there to set up movies that may never even happen.

Also, there's a choir singing that plays whenever Wonder Woman shows up and I hated it.

In the end, I'm really glad that Zack Snyder got to finally make the movie he wanted. I believe all filmmakers should be able to make their movies the way they want to make them. But this movie is still just Justice League but longer. It's an improvement, but being better than Justice League (2017) isn't a huge accomplishmet. Disappointing.… Expand

A fantastic movie and a rare chance to get a great redo. The only problem now is will WB follow through on this universe. Sure the critics refuse to give credit where it's due but given the fan numbers are so high WB can't ignore it. The music. The pacing. The cinematography. Everything was Leagues better. The characters had more space to actually develop. They played much better off of each other. The cringe jokes were gone. We got to see the full action scenes with stuff like Wonder Woman's intro being waaay better. If you just don't like Zacks style then it might not be for you but if you just want a great JL movie and auch better one than we got before then this is one you NEED to see.… Expand

After Joss Whedon's nonsense, this movie was like medicine. Epic story. Zack Snyder should continue to shape the DCEU. And Snyder should be consulted in stories like Wonder Woman and Aquaman. I'll start by saying I think DC comic storylines are absolutely fantastic and there is no logical reason WB shouldn't be able to put out a fantastic film every time they adapt a DC character/story. Additionally, I'm glad Snyder got to finishI'll start by saying I think DC comic storylines are absolutely fantastic and there is no logical reason WB shouldn't be able to put out a fantastic film every time they adapt a DC character/story. Additionally, I'm glad Snyder got to finish his version of the film. On that note... There was only one thing that this movie did definitively better than the theatrical version of the film: the final battle. Yes, the character development was also better, but it was at the cost of pacing. The Snyder cut acted as an origins film for Cyborg, fleshed out the Flash and Aquaman more, and provided motive for Steppenwolf all of which easily added an hour and a half to the film which was too long. A lot of Cyborg and Steppenwolf's additions were worth it, but you probably could have cut a half hour of content here without sacrificing character arcs, story, or emotional impact. What value did close to four minutes of slow motion football add to Cyborgs character? Why did I need to know that the Flash applied to be a dog walker (let's not talk about Iris... girl was flying through the air after a vehicle collision with the calmest expression, that scene was laughable)? And, what the heck was the deal with the singing lady when Aquaman went back into the ocean (sure, that was only like 30 seconds but it felt like an awkward eternity). Honestly, this film could've been an 8/10 if it were an hour shorter which could've been easily achievable by just removing about half the needless slow-motion scenes and focusing on making a great individual movie without putting in a bunch of scenes with no impact on the immediate story, meant to tease things to come (which I'd lean towards us never seeing a continuation of on the big screen). It could be a 7-7.5/10 if it were a three-part miniseries. But, as a 4-hour, fully intact film, it was a chore to get through and I will likely never re-watch it.… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This movie. Wow. To start off, I am an absolutely huge DC fan. I am not as much into marvel and so don't enjoy those movies as much. I really enjoyed Batman vs Superman, loved Man of Steel, Suicide Squad, Aquaman, and the Wonder Woman movies. However, the theatrical Justice League... was rough. It was weird feeling, I felt like Cyborg was barely in it, and Flash was kind of just a side character. It seemed to focus very heavily on only a small subset of characters (in an already small team) and it felt wrong. On top of that, the visuals and random story that had no real backstory was just bad. Even I, a DC Fanboy, couldn't like it. But this, this is something special. The backstory on Cyborg and his conflict with himself, and his father is just so great. To see his struggle, and to see a hero have to fight against what anyone else would, the struggles of life that beat us down. And the small scene where he helps a lady who had been evicted, stuff like that is just incredibly touching. Showing us that though this is a superhero, he has a heart, and is actually incredibly people centered. Then the added content with Aquaman, and his struggle with his Atlantean nature just helps set up his character so much better. It is the kind of thing we saw in the Aquaman solo movie, and helps to set him up as a reluctant part of this team much better. The Flash, wow. Just wow. Flash is one of my all time favorite superheroes. So the theatrical release really left me disappointing. But man, this is just so great. I found myself laughing out loud when he was on screen oh so much. He had that childish Barry humor that we all love. He also seemed to be a much more ready hero than the theatrical version. In this version he seems to have been fighting crime, or at least coming to grips with his powers for a bit longer, and doesn't seem as weak/foolish. Batman. Man, Batman, or more appropriately Batfleck is my favorite Batman. I'm saying it. Everything from that AMAZING suit to just his general demeanor. To see Batman turn from something of a killer in BvS to this guy who is completely changed by Superman's death, its just grand. Batman in this movie is surprisingly the Hope of the team. Superman really changed him. His sacrifice for the world showed Batman that there was hope, and that for once he would have to go out on faith alone. Batman is just perfect. Wonder Woman. What can I say? She is perfect as always. Her character is setup really well as a protector of those around her. And not only that, she really plays better with Batman in this movie because of her unending hope. Overall I felt like she was done justice. And her combat in this movie was so amazing. She really kicks some tail. Overall the little things just set this movie over the top. Things like seeing a Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, and various other characters was just so perfect. It felt like this was a real universe movie with so many heroes. I really hope that WB gets the message. We don't want more garbage, we want more of this. The Snyderverse was set-up to be this amazing cinematic vision. I hope we get more.… Expand

Zack Snyder seems to have knocked it out of the park with his vision for the Justice League. The story and the crucial characters getting fleshed out to a more conceivable pattern in comparison to its 2017 counterpart is infact a lending factor to its own superiority. Hollywood can learn a thing or two from here when too many cooks in the kitchen can pose a problem for studios. The auteur strokes on the contrary enriches the movie’s soul with enough humor, optimism and story beats leading very well to a climax that connects to the viewer. The length never seems to be an issue if the viewing is managed under chapters, not to take away the merit of streaming content in binge sessions as some hardcore fans might prefer to. If the DC universe needs to thrive further, they need to take elements from this movie(cul-de-sac or not) as a reference model to their success trajectory further. Or perhaps as fans call it #RestoretheSnyderverse, if that wasn’t too much of an oversimplification. An interminable campaign by fans deserves an appreciation too.… Expand
