I simply loved this movie. It’s just such a different style from any other Batman film I’ve seen. Aside from the dark and gritty it has such a melancholy feel. And i’m totally buying into that. But if you're a fan of the genre of crime- noir investigation and have been dying to see the detective batman in live action then this wiil exceed your expectations. Why is the movie three hours long? Well, it had two important jobs to do. Create the environment around Batman in a way that it feels fimiliar, full of life(depressing life actually),a city that goes well the plot not some out of context city out of nowhere just named GOTHAM and let each of the rogue gallary member a time to shine(remember why TASM2 failed?).I loved the comicbook references in this movie. The character development was at it's finest. The intrection among them was decent. Everything in this film was grounded. The action,the story everything. Battinson was great . But Cobblepot and the Riddler stole the show for me. I really liked the Zodiac-killer inspired Riddler. The cinematography and the score was phenominal. Wow! This is a "Batman" movie! No, seriously, as Batman fan this movie is everything I ever wanted. A movie finally did justice to the name, World's Greatest Detective. Robert Pattinson is perfect. Paul Dano's Riddler is freaking scary asWow! This is a "Batman" movie! No, seriously, as Batman fan this movie is everything I ever wanted. A movie finally did justice to the name, World's Greatest Detective. Robert Pattinson is perfect. Paul Dano's Riddler is freaking scary as hell. All of the cast gave it their all. Matt Reeves truly created something special for us. Greig Fraser's cinematography is freaking amazing. Along with Michael Giacchino's phenomenal score. It never feelt like a 3 Hour film. Fast paced plot with great action sequences, there's always something going on. There are some minor pacing issues here and there but no biggie.
As I said, as a Batman fan, this is the perfect movie for me. But at the same time I really can't tell how the general audience will feel. This isn't your typical Superhero action flick. You have to be patient. There are a lot of things going on and that all comes together in a great third act. So, yup great movie. Go and watch it in the biggest screen possible.… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Batman (2022) is an almost perfect adaptation on the character of Batman. It uses its amazing cast to create a true crime/mystery story about one of the most famous Batman villains told in a narrative by Robert Pattinsons, Batman. This film is a true character study of Batman and highlights some of the key parts of the character.

In particular, the first 20 minutes stood out to me as it shows the crime and corruption of a place like Gotham city. This is the first take on the city where you truly feel immersed in what is going on there. The city doesn’t feel like Chicago or Pittsburgh. The city has life, you can see this in the shots at the beginning where you can see the rubbish lying around and the horrible conditions people are living in.

The acting in this film was truly fantastic, every character had a chance to shine and really do so. Robert Pattinson and Paul Dano were the particular stand out to me, Robert Pattinson showed the depressed side of Batman perfectly in contrast to what we have previously seen in films like The Dark Knight. Paul Dano played a mentally insane man perfectly and was genuinely terrifying when on screen. Zoë Kravitz and Collin Farrell were also both amazing however one flaw I think there was, was making Selina Kyle, Falcone’s daughter. It just seemed to be a bit of a cop out on the story.

Overall though, Matt Reeves did an amazing job. I loved this film and cannot wait to watch it again.… Expand

The story was slow but methodical with tons of Easter eggs mixed in from the Batman Universe. The sub plot of him being The Batman and having to learn how to be Bruce Wayne was more detailed than it was in the Dark Knight Trilogy. Robert Pattinson is THE Batman! After seeing the movie twice now I can say he is my favorite Batman. From his walk, to his stare to the fact that he didn't alter his voice. Zoe Kravitz is perfect as Catwoman. Bringing a grace, strength and beauty to the character. The chemistry between her and Robert Pattinson is undeniable. Colin Farrell's Penguin could step into any gangster movie and take it over. One of the best performances I have seen Farrell give. I can't wait for his HBO Max series. What Paul Dano has done with the Riddler is equal to or better than what Heath Ledger did for The Joker. The Riddler is terrifying. Dano brings a manic and craziness to Riddler that will forever change the way the character is seen. Jeffrey Wright is great as James Gordon. The interaction between Wright and Pattinson is spot on. This is the relationship the two share in the comics. Andy Serkis as Alfred is more a mentor than a father figure for Bruce. He's strong and unwavering. With a depth to him we only get a glimpse of. The Batmobile is so badass. It's loud, fast and strong as hell. The car chase is crazy fun. It's hands down the best Batmobile ever. Matt Reeves directing is spot on. Fleshing the characters out as they have never been before. It's hard taking a multiple series character movie and making it feel fresh and new. Reeves did this beyond my wildest dreams. All the characters feel familiar yet new. You're seeing things with these characters you have not seen before. You can feel how much each actor has embraced their character and this is Reeve's directing. This is the truest comic book Batman I have seen. Reeve's nailed the character better than any other director.… Expand

But still, whenever I watch the Nolan's dark knight trilogy I stuck and never get bored to watch that trilogy and also I want to include bvs, I really enjoy that film like Nolan's dark knight trilogy and Zack snyders justice league and Zack snyders batman vs Superman whenever I watch Enjoy it every time That's it.
This film is also great and I literally get goosebumps while watching this film first time and I gonna go watch again

We can see here clumsy, young Batman, who left the bruce persona after being brought down by everything life.I saw it as if he doesnt want to be bruce, he is scared of it, you can hear it in the conversation with alfred at the hospital or the looks he gives at the mayor's kid. To be the kid, to exposed to be vulnerable again, to be afraid as he was than. This batman is much less gadgety than yhe 2 previous versions of him. He is more rubust and not clean..he is much more a human than a super hero. And the fact that he looses, and yet come of it stronger that what makes it the most batman story that was shown in live action. This is a batman from the comics as it was supposed to be. Abd yet the movie could be shorter in about 40-45 minutes, i think catwoman axting was not good and also Alfred's. Everyone talk about the riddler i think collin farrel was amazing as fhe penguin. Abd cant wait for his spinnoff series.… Expand

There are so many things I would like to talk about so for the short review, this movie is amazing if you like batman, with much action but also much mystery, suspense. great acting, Robert Pattison completely owned the character, and every time he was on screen we could just feel his presence, and that feeling of superiority that batman radiates upon people, and the film scoring is just beautiful and a must-see. Now I would like to address some things that other people have been saying and I would like to comment on the fact that this is NOT a marvel movie, other reviews have said things for example " this movie was too dark, depressing" or "I wanted to see with my kids but it was too violent" but that is who batman is, if you read a batman comic it won't be happy, funny jokes, but a dark, violent, grim and serious story with some heavy topics. Secondly, this movie had a different pace, mood, and theme as the other times we have seen this character on the screen, One thing about Batman is that he is not just the world's greatest fighter but also the world's greatest detective and that was a complaint that I had with the other movies because they completely ignored this aspect of him, action here and there but never how smart he really was and in this movie they completely flipped it, showing us his skills as the worlds greatest detective most of the movie, trying to solve this mystery of murders, trying to understand the killers objective and who he was, and Lastly, he is not a "Ben Affleck" batman who will burst into a room with 30 people and take all them out without breaking a sweat, Pattison's batman is in his 2 year as Batman, even though he has his flaws in terms of ability, he is still learning how to be batman, but also struggling in finding who he really is as bruce Wayne. he is not a christan bale's bruce where he uses a fake smile and playboy lifestyle to hide his identity as batman but this bruce is in a very dark place and struggling mentally on who he is and what he should become vs what he needs to. This is by far the greatest Batman live action movie of all time. It set up the tone and atmosphere of the comics and animated series. It was designed to be a detective movie hence detective comics. The people who didn’t like this either don’t know or understand the source material and we’re going into this thinking it was a spectacle mcu family friendly film full of action rather than build up characters and an immersive experience of the world of the Batman comics. No, The Batman is not a perfect movie. It is evident that as an excellent film, it is natural that it has its flaws. But it's the most perfect Batman that's ever been seen in theaters. No, you didn't get it wrong, he's the best Batman; in question about the Batman movie, the best can still be considered "The Dark Knight". But like Batman, this one gives us the best version of the hero. The movie starts and it won't show that old Bruce character scene that never was, but the look of Robert Pattinson and you'll see that his son has left Crime Alley, he's a walking cemetery, the pain and anger are in him, it's so sharp; which becomes palpable.
