Great seeing Tobey and Andrew return. Tom's Spidey went through a great arc, and the ending makes me excited for the future of the character.

The characters are all over the place, there are so many that none of them get properly developed so I didn't get to properly care about any of them. It all makes the story completely lack of the charm the previous two movies had, by trying to be so big and do so many things but eventually none of what it tries to prove or do gets anywhere. Going back to the beginning, the thing that made me not notice sooner how mediocre this is was the fan service. Carefully hinted to the point everyone knew it would happen, pretty weak when you think of it but strong enough to try keep the movie together and cover your eyes so you don't see how scattered the rest is. Sadly, that effect didn't last long, revealing all that was behind. Expand

Comentario de “Spider-Man No Way Home”

The same MCU that had always tried to get out of the comfort zone, to innovate, to deviate from certain canons, this time tried in every way to reassure the fans, to give them just what they wanted without daring a bit or writing a good script, all of this in order to avoid diverting attention from returning characters, a thing always hoped for by fans. Before this movie came out I thought of two alternatives: it could have been a mediocre movie with great fan service or a great movie with poor fan service. Well, I'm afraid to say what I saw was a bad movie with poor fan service. In fact, the problem with the movie is not only how much it lacks in substance and how it is put on the screen but also the fan service itself which, as it came through, was weird, patchy, stale and bland. The entry of those two characters on the scene was the most forced thing I have ever seen, and I really can't stand the thought I have waited two years to see such a minimal interaction among the three characters and such a boring and hasty final battle (with recycled scenes too). Plus, the movie seems to have no actual second act, same thing happened to Dark Phoenix and just like in Dark Phoenix the main actor stated that the script was written during filming, and it shows. This movie is the worst possible answer to Scorsese and his "theme parks", I have always disagreed with this statement and if it wasn't true before, with very few exceptions, this movie makes me question it, as I don't think No Way Home is definable in any other way. As far as I'm concerned it is among the worst 5 MCU movies and the worst Spider-Man live action movie, and you have no idea how heartbreaking it is for me to say that. After excellent and innovative products such as Wandavision and Eternals, 2021 Marvel for me ends with a huge step back. Expand

The dialogue isn't funny nor amusing, the actors who play his friend and girlfriend, respectively, are pretty bad, and the overall plot for each film is so dull. Seriously not worth the money. The characters resemble The Harry Potter trio, but without a good story. The plot for this movie, in particular, feels more like a video game than a movie. Spider-Man: No Way Home embraces its title character's extremely large fan base, re-introducing some of its classic, legacy characters. It is on a higher scale than the previous films, and proves that Spider-Man, along with The Avengers, is an event film. What ties the film together is its attention to detail. Not saying I did t enjoy it, I did, but it's really a member-berry stew with the multi-verse as a newly introduced (in the MCU, not shows) plot device to bring all the Spider-mans together. The movie shines most for me in the scenes where the three Spider-mans get together and discuss the oddities and banalities of their particular universes. And honestly, it makes me miss Toby Macguire's rendition the most (I don't dislike Andre Gardield, but was unimpressed by the Amazing Spider-man, and I like Tom Holland, but hes a bit too aw-shucks for me). As people can't judge characters with their own values and ways of dealing with things when watching movies, I don't think it's a story about "Spider-Man's stupid kindness". But it's really sadder than the previous two, and there are more things to discuss. This HOME series is over, and the third generation of Spider-Man is really growing up. Compared with the previous two generations, the characters are actually better established, but the little college boy is not very pleasing to the self-proclaimed mature and rational audience... The whole movie feels quite complete, and Holland's acting skills are really amazing, but there are too many things, too messy, and the visual effect is also old-fashioned. In short, it still drew a perfect end, with three generations in the same frame and the appearance of old characters, which is smooth and comfortable. As for the multiverse, you don't have to watch this one. Looking forward to Doctor Strange 2. Expand

While it was certainly a fun movie to watch I felt this really only achieved an 'average' level of enjoyment. It seems like everything was done too sweetly without any bitterness or challenge for the titular character to overcome. I guess with all the rave reviews I expected a film with more sophistication to it.

Pretty good! Solid 7 out of 10. They did a good job with the story, this will open up the Spiderverse with multiple new possibilities in the future for more stories and movies about Spider-Man.

SPOILER BELOW

The only thing I didn't understand was how is he Spiderman again if he had the spell to be forgotten by everyone lol then what was the point if he can just be Spider-Man again? Lmao

Sand Man fights spiderman for no reason. No explanation for Mysterio's ability to frame Parker. I have no clue behind why the conflict existed. Ridiculously horrriblwy. Fallaciously desired plot with so many randomly pitiful conflicts appearing and dismissing every other solution. So much more they could have done. There is no way this plot could work. They release villains and allow them to help them cure them. Soooooooo predictably luny. Like you really didn't expect them to turn against you. Somehow, one villain makes a speech and all other villains agree with him. Some of them don't even consistently follow up with their characters. Parker has a cringy and contrived revenge plotline and we are just suppose to expect the villains to be good now. I still dont' care about Parker's relationship with his auuuuuuuuuuuunt. They don't allow us to care about aunt may and so her supposed inspiration in the plot has no weight and we never saw why she was the way she was through her actions. Moral conflict is stupid and is only used to act as a plot device for the writers. Every plot decision is devoid of logic and is only for the purpose of moving the story in a direction that the writers want it to go in. Plot could end easily, but is continued for no good reason. Butt loads of scenes that do nothing to tell you about the characters or develop them. Characters are dumb. The hearts of these villains need to change too. Expand

I’m not somebody who gets butterflies every time I see something I recognize from my childhood. If that’s you, stop reading.

This movie is dumb, even by Marvel standards. Parts of the movie are shot and color corrected like a comedy movie. In fact, the whole movie seems like a 2 hour CollegeHumor parody.

There’s a scene that’s supposed to be emotional that came across as comedic due to the sheer absurdity of the situation.

Nothing is organic. Everything happens because a character decided to turn their brain off. Unfortunately, turning your brain off is also the only way to think of this as anything more than a forgettable Hollywood time-killer.

This is just a first impressions, so Tom Holland is Spider Man this has to be his best performance by far the emotion in his eyes in certain scenes I just think he gets bette each and every time. Willem Dafoe and Alfred Molina give top notch performances especially Dafoe, it feels like he just got out of Spider-Man 1 it’s great. Same with Molina it feels like he filmed it with Spider Man 2 I just can’t praise these performances. And the action scenes like when Spider-Man goes against Doctor Strange it’s drippy it’s wild and it’s such a fun ride. Overall this is the best Spider-Man movie of all time it has the comedy, the most amazing action scenes, it’s got some cheer worthy scenes and it has the emotions making it the best movie of 2021. However, the final film in the "Home Trilogy" of Marvel's MCU Spider-Man brings my rocky opinions of Tom Holland's Spider-Man to a very fun, very endearing finish. This film tugs at the heart of the characters journey and brings him full circle. Thanks to the excellent, Spiderverse inspired joining of different characters joining the film from other iterations of Spider Man, No Way Home flies higher than its predecessors and settles on a close 2nd place to Spider-Man 2 in the rankings of best films with the character. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This movie is fine. Having three spidermen in a movie is really cool and the emotional moments of the movie really hit. That being said the story is just awful. It is one of the most thoughtless stories the MCU has done. The entire way the issue occurred with Dr. Strange was so dumb and careless. Why would he do such a risky spell without consulting Peter first? Also the other spidermen don't show up until the end when the other villains have been running through NYC for the entire movie. Also the idea of fixing the villains was lazy. It took the spidermen like half an hour in the lab to find the cures when it originally seemed impossible. Why did the other MJs not come back? Plus peter and strange fighting was so impulsive and not fleshed out. Also, the final fight scene was in pitch black. I am just tired of these ending battles in the dark where it is hard to see everything. The high points of this movie are the best in MCU, but low points are also some of the lowest in MCU. Expand

This is the ultimate spidey movie, with plenty of fun to go around, which of course is most common in the MCU, but also the dramatic weight of responsibilities that was sorely missing from the previous entries. When the dramatic scenes hit, the impact is great. The fact a movie like this exist with the return of the Sam Raimi villains is something that I have yet to process. Even when watching it I couldn’t believe what I was seeing and feeling. It felt like a childhood fever dream.

Out of the three Holland Spidey films, this is by far the best one.

Tom Holland has been great in the past movies, but here I thought he finally made it his own. Holland delivers a great performance, especially in the emotional scenes. ‘Iron Boy jr.’ is no more, and that alone makes me so happy. If you're still in doubt about Tom Holland as Spider-Man, then I think this will finally turn you around, because Holland is so incredible in this movie. He fully embodies the struggle, but heroic Peter Parker who faces the most difficult choices. The final shot of him in his new home-made suit looked spectacular.

The supporting characters like MJ (Zendaya) and Ned (Jacob Batalon) are always a great edition in Peter’s journey. The chemistry between Peter and MJ is strong here. Honestly, out of all the Spider-Man movies, I feel that they relationship is the best.

Jon Watts direction in this movie, in terms of action, camera work, and just film making in general is a massive improvement this time around. The action scenes were memorable and creative, sometimes brutal. There’s one scene where Peter Parker, who is in the room filled with villains in an apartment, his Spidey senses are triggered, but doesn’t know where the danger is coming from. The way it was shot: the camera locked onto Holland, giving his steady movements around the space more motion, everything blurred out, trying hard to pinpoint where it’s coming from. A tense scene that was well done.

Michael Giacchino score for the movie perfectly mixes the grand superhero theme, but also the emotional weight of the scenes as well.

Now it’s not a secret at this point of the returning villains, both from the Sam Raimi version: Green Goblin, Doc Ock, and Sandman, and the Mark Webb version: Electro and Lizard. None of these are just cameos or soulless nostalgia bait, but they actually serve the story and have an actual impact on Holland’s Spider-Man.

Alfred Molina's performance as Doc Ock was great and him returning to this role 17 years later didn’t feel dated; he fits back into it. His character arc wasn’t miss handled from ‘Spider-Man 2’, but instead is further expanded on respectfully. Also, the De-aging on him looked great. Jamie Foxx finally gets some justice after his version of Electro was ruined in ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Willem Dafoe returning as Green Goblin in this movie was nothing short but brilliant. Really menacing, scary, and more ruthless than he was in the 2002 film. He might be the best MCU villain, as he doesn’t want to take over the world, or to be understood or agreed with, he just wants to cause pain and chaos. It helped that he was maskless throughout the movie where we get to see his evil gleefulness come through. "Strong Enough to Have It All...TOO WEAK TO TAKE IT!" - brilliant.

Benedict Cumberbatch makes a mystical appearance as Doctor Strange, who helps Peter out by crafting a spell to make the world forget that Peter Parker is Spider-Man after having his identity revealed in the last movie. There’s a great and visually pleasing chase scene that takes magic and science in a creative and fun spin.

Now since the movie has been out for a while now, I feel confident in talking about some major reveals.

The return of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield is a sight to behold. I still can’t get my head around them returning. They were more than a throw away cameo but played a massive impact to Holland’s Spidey. Andrew Garfield finally gets his time to shine, as he was truly excellent in this. I never understood why people considered him the “worst Spider-Man”. He was the victim of bad writing. His emotional reaction to saving the MCU’s MJ, something he couldn’t do for his Gwen, was such a gut punch. Yep, he really is amazing.

The interaction between all three Spider-Men wasn’t wasted at all and was a blast to watch. Hearing Danny Elfman’s Spider-Man (2002) - theme playing briefly in the background whilst in the cinema was just…goosebumps. The short scene between Maguire and Molina was a touching reunion.

Also, the appearance of Charlie Cox returning as Matt Murdock aka Daredevil was such a shock but a welcoming one. The movie is far from perfect, but right now I'm just happy with what I saw. I walked out of the cinema satisfied.
