Good to see the fans are standing up for this movie, was really nowhere near as bad as critics are saying- I wish people wouldn't take their opinion so seriously when they HISTORICALLY HATE SUPERHERO MOVIES. Come on guys. We all know it was awesome!

The movie makes a few bald choices that you would never expect in a super-hero movie, which is a positive and negative at the same time. The other problem is that the writing is all over the place and the editing is very choppy. The tone as well is not for everybody and I would definitely not take kids to watch this movie due to how mature it is in some scenes. That being said, if you give this movie a chance, you will get the best Batman and Bruce Wayne you have ever seen on the big screen, you will gasp at the stunning visuals and cinematography and you will also be entertained by every action set-piece. In the end, how much you like the movie will be determined by how much you can forgive. Expand

BvS is not a perfect movie. It suffers from some bad pacing, too many flashbacks/dreams and shoehorned in plot elements for a sequel.

That being said, its not a bad movie either. Its good on a technical level. Its shot well and has fleshed out characters, deep thought provoking messages about hope, humanity and redemption and it sticks extremely close to comic books that I grew up with, namely The Dark Knight Returns, The Long Halloween and The Death of Superman.

Themes and plot elements are used throughout the movie from these comic books and fans of these books will be ecstatic to see panels lifted straight from the comics and placed on the silver screen.

That being said, this movie may be and early Christmas for older fans, new batman and superman fans may be put off by the deeper, darker and more violent themes of the movie. Its easy to see why younger fans of the comic book heroes, or even people who have grown to love the newer takes on the characters, may no longer be open to this interpretation of the characters. But that's what this is, another interpretation, one that I loved dearly.

I can rest happy now that MY ideal Batman vs Superman has been on the silver screen, regardless that so many people seem to dislike it.

I think a lot of negative reviews are due to the fact that, given the source material; arguably the 2 most famous superheroes in the world, Snyder could only pull off something like this.
To put it in to perspective, you give your brother $100 to buy firecrackers for the 4th of July and he brings back a whole pile of cherry bombs. It's fun to watch, but you're never awed and lament what it could have been.

I did enjoy the movie. It's Superman and Batman for god's sake. And Wonder Woman was a nice surprise.
I loved Affleck's Batman. Made Bale's Batman look like a Sunday school teacher.
Eisenberg seemed to be channeling both Ledger's Joker and Jim Carrey's Riddler.
He was good, but I don't think Lex Luthor needed to be a goofy psycho. (I hoped Mark Strong would've been Luthor, one can dream..)
Most glaring issue with the movie is that it jumps around, a lot. Fire the editor and hopefully Snyder for the future films.
Hopefully, blu-ray will add deleted scenes to minimize the gaps, jumps.

All actors are making an exceptional job with their roles. Some mistakes that were done on Man Of Steel were corrected, mainly the mistakes related to Superman's personality.
The main problem of this movie is Lois Lane, their scenes break the momentum of the movie, specially between the fights, also these scenes doesn't add too much to the history (except for the first scene), and they're just there to connect some scenes. I would prefer more scenes to develop the relationship between Batman, Superman and Lex Luthor than these pointless scenes.
It is a great movie, and thanks God that it is different from Marvel's movies. I think it is great that DC is trying to make their movies in a different way, treating each one of their movies with a different environment and tone, instead of the standardized Marvel way to do their movies (which I don't think it's bad, but I don't think it would fit in DC's universe).
I recommend to everyone to watch the movie, and make their own opinion about it. Don't care about the reviews. Watch it and see if this DC Universe is appealing for you.

I went into this movie knowing there are widely mixed reviews. But I came out thoroughly entertained; yes there are plot holes, yes it tries to accomplish a lot in one movie, but I think it still works. As for Doomsday, even though he is supposed to be the toughest villain of all, he's not exactly the most interesting to work with, but he does work well as a device for the heroes to join forces for the more interesting villains to come, in particular Darkseid. As for the plot holes, I suspect some of those will get filled in the movies to come. Expand

In this movie, acting was intense, the mood was real dark (even darker than in the last Batman movies)
and the action was so extreme (and well filmed) it managed to really surprise me.
And that is no mean feat ;)

I suppose this is why 99.9% of them can barely pay their rent. This movie may not be a masterpiece, but it is worthy of watching and that is a lot coming from me. I am a tough critic... just check my reviews.

The visuals look good though Doomsday looked a bit like clay. The comic book tie-ins were fun, but they are not exactly "loyal" and a few might be confusing for folks who dont read comics but its trivially easy for them to look it up if they care to (specifically the future dream). Acting was good all around although I think that Affleck is a miscast as was Alexander. The fight between Batman and Superman was ok but inconsistent with Superman's powers. The fight against Doomsday was great but very short lived and as stated earlier, not exactly consistent with the comics but that is not a requirement.

Lets look at the flaws. Waaaaaaaay too much going on in one film. They took two major comic book stories and pressed them into one film. The problem with this is that character development suffers and that is exactly what happens. Bruce Wayne ends up getting more quality screen time than both Clark and Wonder Woman so the movie feels like a Batman story, with the other two characters thrown in as support. This would not be a bad thing if it were not for the fact that one of the two major plots was based on a major Superman story (Doomsday) that spanned many comic books. So here we have a major story line about Superman and Doomsday and it gets washed aside in favor of getting to know the dark side of Bruce Wayne.

The other problem I had is with Affleck... he did a good acting job but no matter how hard I try, I find him too goofy to be Batman and it killed immersion. His facial expressions are just funny... and not intimidating yet he is cast as something that is supposed to bring nightmares to people. I mean... he just didnt look right even with a mask on. He is simply too soft. When he says that the Wayne's were originally hunters, and walked off with a serious look on his face... I laughed because A) he is looks goofy and B) he played a character in a (great) movie called Good Will Hunting lol and that is about all he has in common with hunters.

Alexander was by far the most poorly written character. The problem with his character is that he is kind of dumb and his motives are just childish. His mannerisms are more like the Joker or Riddler than they are of a Luthor, who are usually well grounded and complex. Instead, Alexander is just another nut job. It simply was not believable that someone like him would be able to orchestrate all the things that happened but I suppose anything is possible... just look at politicians and many corporate executives.

Other than those points, there are plot holes in this movie and several minor issues but they all revolve around point #1 in that they tried to cram too much into one movie. The Doomsday arch should have been left to the next movie while the Batman v Superman battle should have remained the focus of this one with more screen time given to develop the plot and more character development for Superman who seemed to be somewhat lackadaisical in this movie.

Overall however it was a good movie and a fun time... again, from me, this is high praise. I want to see Superman again and I want to see Wonder Women and although I like Batman... whenever I saw Affleck I quickly got pulled out of the movie. This is no fault of his, he is an ok actor, but frankly Matt Damon would have been better and even that would be sort of funny to see. Collapse

At the helm is a grip/choreographer (he's not a real director) who is by no means a gifted storyteller. Another style over substance type so rampant in Hollywood, he makes the amateur mistake of thinking message and allegory are more key than actual plot.
Or let's face it, that's a lot easier to do. Brooding, somber tone is another masquerade and here it's overkill to the point of near parody. The narrative is such a mess, you forget why characters suddenly turn up where they do.

Good actors no matter how well known make you believe in what they are doing on screen, and true movie stars have the power to make you like and care about them no matter what they are depicted doing. Affleck does neither and never has. Far from it, there is never a moment when you don't see him trying to act and it's an injustice that he has been allowed to continue on screen for as long as he has. All he has going is a physical look for his age, and you know the trick photography/digital enhancement make him look in better shape than he is. Cavill is physically very worthy and maybe will turn out a better actor than his co-star which would be no great feat, but here he is a non-presence. He has zero personality, no sense of humor, and is utterly lackluster in the charisma department. Maybe that's the point to playing a lonely alien? No, remember it's a freaking superhero movie!
The miscast nerdy boy actor Eisenberg is awful. Some things just don't work when you go against type no matter how clever the makers think they are by spinning it that way, like a scrawny screechy adolescent geek playing the arch villain. Adams is also miscast (was miscast in the piss poor "Man of Steel"). What the hell is the reasoning behind Lois Lane now resembling the red head Lana Lang of the comic book series? It's just stupid and nonsensical! They would try to object that she's worth it since she's so good an actress. Right, literally a thousand other actresses could easily slip into this role. Make that a thousand brunettes, out of which a hundred at least could act just as well as her in this one dimensional comic strip, and most off the SAG roster would be hotter to boot. Not to mention Adams is too old for the part now.
Gadot's introduction as Wonder Woman is handled fairly well initially though it comes out of nowhere. She shows some promise, but as to her potential to really play a character and carry a story beyond what she is, a starlet just showing up, remains to be seen… After sitting through this debacle, I for one will not be finding out.

So what's left after the mostly poor casting and the absurd premise to begin with? Sheer near excruciating boredom since there is barely a coherent storyline other than the same old, same old genre tropes, loud incessant action (including a monster that has been in at least half a dozen other tent pole fantasies in recent years), and another formulaic story which by now is so ridiculously familiar that you really have to be from another planet or been living in a cave to be entertained by it all. Maybe just dumb, or as many I believe are: dishonest with themselves about how they really feel watching one of these things.

Warner Bros and the people behind this do not deserve a break on their way to the bank. They have severely damaged the DC Comics screen legacy.

Lex Luthor is aggravating, it's often quite slow, some of it is unbearably ponderous, many of the characters don't really emote much and when they do it's fairly limply. But honestly, I enjoyed myself. I don't know whether it's because of some of the allusions to comics in it, or the set-up (heavy-handed admittedly) for future movies, or that it did actually look pretty damn extraordinary. No idea. But, you know, I still enjoyed it. If you like superhero movies, you should go and see it. I'm not going to say you'll come out of it saying 'best movie ever', but if you've got some good snacks, some patience and are prepared to relax into it, it's really pretty good. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

Now I am not a fan of DC or of any character within their works; I however, am familiar with them.

I saw this movie tonight and made a few expectations to what might happen throughout the movie; even through moments many consider unexpected as I'm the kind of guy that does think outside the box, though I won't spoil anything here.

Most of the reviews you find from other "professional" critics would be mixed to negative and positive from the fans, even on Metacritic. What I thought of this movie was that it was thought out well and has made many points of the movie worth seeing; it's Batman versus Superman, the 'God versus Man' scenario that long-time fans have been waiting for and I guarantee you will not be disappointed at all with this movie if you're one of them.

However, not everything is flawless as one or two points of this movie has those moments; you'll catch on as it goes along, but those flaws are why the score is a 9 out of 10. By all means, this is a great movie; it has a collection of great actors like Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot; the CGI used is mind-blowing and the story has its many moments of surprises which caught me off-guard and that can only happen within well-written movies, games and TV shows.

Many reviews of the fans, both positive and negative I can agree on and why they thought of this but this short review of mine (if you can call it short) makes a summary of what was the best and worst moments of this movie.

Some may even think that the new Batsuit is a terrible design or that Ben Affleck isn't the greatest actor to fill the role of Bruce Wayne, but in all honesty, as long as this incarnation of Batman screams the "I am vengeance, I am the knight" pose, I'm fine with that.

So what I'm really trying to say here is watch the movie yourself, even if you're a fan or not of the Justice League; it is what some were waiting for and what were given is something that I consider a great constructive movie.

Noticing that, the logic conduces me to rate this movie as a 5 or a 6 in the best case, but I can't do that. Why? Because Ben Affleck's casting, and his performance was without exaggerating, a complete dream. There's nothing bad you can say about his Batman after watching the movie, he was just 5/5, and he really steals the scenes. This is obviously powered by the initial rejection to Affleck's choice for the paper. Gal Gadot is a convincing WW, even with her short on-screen time, Henry Cavill is on MoS line, good, and Jesse Eisenberg does a 'jokered' Lex that looks like a tribute for me, and I liked it, just as I liked Heath's performance.
In the other side, Doomsday was just ridiculous.
In the overall, the movie is a nice show, but it has several problems. But if you like the bat, that will not matter at all, and you will enjoy just like I did, remembering when you were a child, or a teen, and seeing THE SAME Batman on screen played perfectly and perhaps dropping a tear seeing him.

Because truth to be told the whole movie has also (mild) problems with cohesion. On the other hand, the actors are reasonably good. Well, with exception of Jesse Eisenberg. But to be fair, I don't think his character was well written, he gave me sort of feeling that he was evil for the sake of being evil.

My advice: Should you find yourself with time to kill, go and see the movie. It's not bad. It's not good. It's mediocre. But I doubt many will decide to see it for the second time. I know I won't.

Its essence is not in the conflict between Batman and Superman, but in some very important moral reflections about the divine and goodness in this cynical world of ours. The fighting sequences were good, the characters, well portrayed and there was a really interesting discussion about how people react to things that look "too good to be true".

What I liked the most is the meaning of "hero" the movie presents us: In Marvel movies, being a hero is cool, funny and popular, but here, it is a very big responsibility, a sacrifice. People you save today can be trying to kill you tomorrow, you will never please everyone and worst: By fighting for what is right, you may endanger the people you love the most.

This movie should be called Batman AND Superman, since the pointless fight between them was (thankfully) very short. But even if the title gives us a wrong impression about what to expect, this is a great movie. Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman are great, and many relationships, like Lois and Superman´s (and even Batman and Wonder Woman´s in the end) are very beautiful to see.

It actually wasn't as bad as I thought itBatman V. Superman left me cold. I had never felt so joyless in for a film before. Despite the numerous problems with Man of Steel and some of the production problems I had high hopes for this film. It actually wasn't as bad as I thought it would be... It was worse. Not only did Zack Snyder learn nothing from the criticism people had with Man of Steel but he also added more problems. For starters there is no point to this film being in 3D. It added nothing to the experience and even gave me a headache with the excessive use of shaky cam. The shaky cam even gotten worse than it was at Man of Steel. The visuals are also tinted in an ugly grayish-brown kind of color which makes everything look drab and lifeless. Unfortuanlty the technicals are the least of this film's problems. The characters barely resemble their original comic counterparts. The Superman in this film is even more apathetic than in the previous film since he nonchalantly smashes through buildings and kills civillians in a careless manner. The film tries to display his actions as morally gray and tries to provoke questions about how super heroes will fit in a realistic situation. I appreciate the attempt to have this be an allegory for how Muslims are treated based n the violent acts of a few members of thier community. This allegorical approach could have had potential if it wasnt for the fact that Superman himself is partially responsible for the destruction in Metropolis. Amy Adams as Lois Lane has even less to do in this film than in the last. She is only present for no other reason than to start an investigation with an obvious answer and as someone for Superman to save. At first the film fools you into thinking that she has a place by achieving a krypotinite spear only to realize that she threw it in herself . Batman didn't fare much better as the caped crusader who was heavily established to have a moral code against killing has no problem shooting people down with his batwing machine gun. It is a shame sense Ben Affleck does have a knowledge for the character and does bring a performance which is an improvement over Christian Bale's. Wonder Woman did have her moments but she barely had any presence in the film and her parts could have been cut from the film and it wouldn't have made a diffrence. The biggest misfire though is Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor. It seems that the Joker was originally supposed to be in this film and that his personality was merged with Luthor. His main motivation has a lack of focus and is so unclear that it becomes maddening. He was horribly miscast and would have played an excellent Jimmy Olsen if Snyder's idea of fun wasn't to kill off a beloved Superman Side character. Snyder was the wrong pearson to lead the direction of the DC cinematic universe and the fact that it is confirmed that he would also direct the upcoming Justice League movie is very problematic. I still have hopes for Suicide Squad and the upcoming Wonder Woman movie. Expand

I liked Ben Affleck as Batman also very much and Henry Cavil as Superman is perfect in my opinion. Maybe it is cause i like movies with epic music and screenplay that i liked that movie so much. Somone who expects a Marvel like movie like avengers which is more lighthearded( with more jokes) a story line which is easy to follow and more action right from the beginning will be disappointed, but everyone who likes epic music, epic screenplay, opera like movies and the fight between darkness and light should see this movie. Both of them played their roles beautifully which leads me to believe that the rest of the casting for Cyborg, Aquaman and Flash are also going to be good. I'm genuinely excited for all their solo films and the Justice League movie. My only complaint is that the set up for DCEU was all crammed into one movie. I wish they would have taken a different path establishing it.
Over all though, I honestly left the theater wanting to see more and I'm hopeful for this DC universe that has been established.

You can tell Synder loves the source material, it's not a cash grab for him. It's mature, it's dark, it has a political edge which feels far more authentic. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The script for this movie was awful, the casting seemed wrong and this could be one of the worst superhero movies of all time.
I realize that it is fictional, but the story had too many holes in it. Superman was wanted due to killing 1 terrorist that was holding a gun to their head. Batman wanted to build a weapon to prevent Superman from destroying the world. Batman killed 10-20 people trying to get the weapon, so I guess some lives are expendable. Some of Batman's fight scenes reminded me of a 1970's karate movie and were pathetic.
The movie wasn't all bad, but I recommend waiting for it to come out on DVD.

I loved how Wonder Woman appeared in it. My personal favorite scenes were these: the warehouse scene with Batman fighting all of Lex Luthors men it was great, another scene I loved is with Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman fight Doomsday, just phenomenal. This scene is by far the best scene and best fight scenes I've seen in movies was of course the fight between Batman and Superman. It's such a good fight they both get beat up, I liked Batmans tactics with his smoke bomb and using his Kryptonite gun to weaken Superman I like Superman literally beating Batman up and tossing him everywhere it was just awesome! I liked the end of the fight as when Batman throws Superman down a whole balcony to the bottom level of the building and soon he grapples him and swings him, really damaging Superman, and as expected, Batman wins the fight and right at the end Bats gets his Kryptonite javelin and almost kills Supes when Supes says that "they're (Lexs men) are going to kill Martha Kent" who is Supes human mother and the name Martha is Bruce mothers name (Batman is obviously Bruce Wayne) and Bats yells at Supes and that to me was a touching scene as Batman had a tough childhood losing his parents and this scene makes you feel sorry for Batman. The actors who played these characters, phenomenal, every one fitted their role they were all great. I think Zack Snyder did a great job with this movie and I'm giving this movie a definite 9/10. Zack Snyder's follow up to his amazing film Man of Steel continues to explore the character of Superman in a very unique way. Taking inspiration from several stories (Injustice: Gods Among Us, Superman: Earth One, Kingdom Come to name a few)Zack Snyder's follow up to his amazing film Man of Steel continues to explore the character of Superman in a very unique way. Taking inspiration from several stories (Injustice: Gods Among Us, Superman: Earth One, Kingdom Come to name a few) Zack Snyder and writers David S. Goyer (Story) and Chris Terrio(Screenplay) showcase the aftermath and consequences of a world with Superman and a world that's first glimpse of Superman is through death and destruction (end of Man of Steel).
The story picks ups 18 months after the last film, but not before we get a dream sequence replaying Batman's origins, which serve as a window into Bruce's psyche as well as the battle of Metropolis through the eyes of Bruce Wayne (its pretty amazing how accurate they recreated the action, even down to timing). We get a great sense of what is driving Batman's paranoia with Superman.
We get at least 5 story-line's that meld together throughout the narrative perfectly. Giving each character something to do.
First we get Lois Lane's story arc in which an incident in Africa causes people to view Superman as an out of bounds type menace, who has no boundaries.
The second story-line involves Superman, who now has to deal with the ramifications of now having the world know who he is and his attempts to be the good man his father knew he could be. We get some great imagery that continues to bring the character to a more prominent light through tragedy. There is a scene when the Congress Hearing Explodes and we see his point of view within the destruction and can see the tear in his eyes, the hope he has going away, a scene I think was done perfectly by Hans Zimmer and Junkie XL's score.
The 3rd story-line involves Batman and Bruce Wayne's continued focus on getting some Kryptonite that he knows will stop Superman once and for all. It's never fully explained how he discovered Kryptonite, but my guess is being the World's Greatest Detective he would have similar resources that Lex has and was able to discover it.
The fourth story-line of course involves Lex's manipulation of everyone, this story line weaves itself throughout the rest of the story-lines so in a way its not its own to begin with, but suffice it to say he's a huge reason what is going on happens.
The 5th story-line is the smallest and involves Wonder Woman's search for the a file that Lex has taken of her, proving she is not human and her and Bruce's discovery of other "Meta-Humans" setting up the DC Extended Universe. I felt this was done amazingly as it goes along with the rest of the this story but never feels intrusive.
Now on to the action, which again puts a huge smile on my face, the action between Batman & Superman is great and well worth the price of admission. It would have been nice to see an earlier fight showing that Batman has to test him first, but with the other stories going on its not a huge issue for me. The final fight between Doomsday, Superman and Wonder Woman, for me was even better and really gave us a great sense at what we can expect in Justice League: Part One and how amazing Zack Snyder understands these characters and their fighting style. The Batman fight scene we saw in the trailers is even better in the context of the film. To see Batman fighting MMA style, get mad and annoyed and even making tactical mistakes but never flinching just felt like I was reading a comic or playing one of the Arkham Games. Christopher Nolan must have seen those fight scenes and shook his head as to how bad his were.
The acting in the film is also top notch, Jesse Eisenber, who many claim is just doing a Joker impression, I felt played a psychotic Lex very well, he has three personalities, the rich spoiled playboy, the maniacal sadist and the personality we saw at the end. Hency Cavill, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne & Diane Lane all return and continue to amaze me with their depiction of these iconic characters. The new players being Ben Affleck, Jeremy Irons and Gal Gadot are a welcome addition, Affleck is definitely the new definitive Batman and it was fun seeing some of the future films teased (Red Hood anyone). Gal Gadot is only in a few scenes but she certainly steals the show, her fight scenes are great, loved when she was knocked down and smiled at fighting again, certainly makes me excited for the Wonder Woman film.
Jeremy Irons was seen the least sadly but his scenes are great. You can really see the chemistry between him and Affleck and it plays like you would see in Batman: The Animated Series or even The Batman.
The special effects and score I felt were even better than Man of Steel, you can see Hans Zimmer's love for these characters and Junkie XL's being bought on to do the Batman part of the score was great too.
As you see I rated this 4/5 out of 5. The only issue that is here that I hope they fix is the way it was edited, now I'm not saying the film was edited badly in the sense that you couldn't understand what was going on or it felt like the editor knew nothing of what he was doing, but it does go from one scene to another quite frequently. I understand the need to keep the film going, but its also important to savor the scene and let it talk to the audience.
Many criticized the film for not being coherent or being confusing to anyone who doesn't read comics and I will have to disagree. The film is the first part of a two part film. Its like how Superman: The Movie introduced Zod, Ursa and Non, setting up Superman II, this film was doing the same thing. I'm not gonna accuse those who didn't understand as being stupid either, but I do blame them for not paying attention and some for looking for things to hate. I saw this film once and understood everything, after seeing it a 2nd time I felt the viewing experience was even better and for me the best films are those you can watch over and over again and find something new.
I am so ready for Justice League: Part One

I think the casting is awesome, and the storyline is not deep... but is a super hero movie, do you remember?, t

the thing is, Zack Snyder uses a different approach for the story telling, and we aren´t used to it, and of course the stupid critics punishes because if it doesn´t include something about racism, slavery, or a surviving story, it is crap

Batman is based on Frank's Miller Character, but only a few know that, and everyone else was looking for the Christopher Nolan´s creation, or the tv characters, and the same goes with Superman, I hate when people says he loves a Character, but they only know one version of them.

I am not saying the movie doesn´t have downs, of course it has, WB wants so bad to catch up with marvel, that they are rushing so many things, but i hope, that eventually they realize that with some patience they can build a universe even bigger than Marvel.

And for the only-movie fans, DC has always been a in a different tone from Marvel in the comics universe, and no, they don´t have to be the same thing as Marvel.

People need to remember this is only DCs 2nd outing in this cinematic Universe, Marvel had like 3 or 4 before the Avengers so be patient. Either Disney/Marvel has a bunch of critics in its payroll or critics somehow had unrealistically high expectations for this movie. The film in and of itself wasn't any worst than either of the Avengers movies. So an average score of 4 of out 10 is undeserved. It's the typical superheroes movies, which I usually give a 6. But I like darker superheroes movies so I give this one one more point. The batman fight scene against thugs were very well done; better than any fights in Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy. The worst aspect of the movie is the terrible editing -- the movie jumps from one short scene to the next in quick succession without logical flow. Even though, the movie is pretty long, there's so much going on (but not many scenes truly contribute to lift the main story) that everything feels rushed and compressed. The Dark Knight was an equally long movie but scenes flow logically and each scene contributes to the movie. So the main problem with Batman v Superman is story-telling. Expand

Glad to see user review average is around 7.5 as that probably what the movie deserves. I was expecting much less after really hating Man of Steel so I was glad this movie was enjoyable.

Pro:

Batmobile was awesome.
Wonder Woman was hot and kicked ass.
Batman vs Superman fight was actually pretty full on.
*slight spoiler* Batman kills a bunch of mofo's.
Superman wasn't a complete emo jerk like in his last movie.
Jesse's Lex was actually pretty fun.
Affleck's Batman was enjoyable.

Cons:

Was boring as hell at times.
Only saw the movie a few days ago and I can barely remember the storyline, was there one? Ah who cares really.
Superman is still somewhat of an emo jerk and it just doesn't fit no matter how much the director tries to justify it.
Lois was annoying.

Batman vs. Superman has exceeded my expectations. I am very satisfied, although saddened by the backlashing Zack Snyder is suffering from "specialized" critics.

Complaints of negative reviews can be summarized to the following:

1) Forced / rushed plot.

2) Non "believable" universe.

3) Eisenberg was a bad choice to embody Luthor.

4) Superman has no charisma.

5) Film is too long.

My point of view:

1) Understandable. You can't deliver to comics fans so many spectacular sequences without paying a price. The plot really looks fragmented and a tad rushed at times, but not enough to ruin the experience.

2) This is the universe of comics, as I always wanted to see on screen. Zack Snyder won the antipathy of those arrogant critics when he dared turning his back to the "casual" audience, always so cuddled with traditional concessions by directors like Chris Nolan. Kudos, Snyder!

3) At first I also thought the choice weird, but the young man do convinces as one of very superior intelligence. If that was the main purpose, it worked well.

4) Snyder portrays a Superman still young and unconfortable with his condition as an omnipotent being. It is not time to be charismatic yet. Cavill is fine in the role, and for me, second only to Christopher Reeve.

5) This is the easiest: for those who expect to see little or no "comics material" in a movie about Batman and Superman, maybe half an hour had already been too much.

The best part is that thanks to Zack Snyder and Ben Affleck, Batman finally made his debut on the big screen, and with lots of amazing references from Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns.

But, what can I say? Personally, I enjoyed "Batman V. Superman: Dawn Of Justice" - though, that isn't to say it's without its problems. Indeed it's nowhere near as focused and as cleanly plotted as its 2013 predecessor, but there really are a bevy of things to enjoy throughout. Ben Affleck's turn as Batman is arguably the most enjoyably rendition of the Caped Crusader to date - and considering that Affleck achieves this whilst sharing half the running time of the film with Henry Cavill's Superman, that's saying a lot. Speaking of Cavill, the English actor brings yet another interesting take on Superman to the table, giving the audience a lot to think about. Jessie Eisenberg's Lex Luthor may not please all filmgoers, but his effort is evident and he's definitely crafted one of the most memorable comic book film villains in recent memory. The cameos and easter eggs aren't exactly normie-friendly, but for this self-respecting comics fan, they delivered. Props to Zach Snyder for delivering another visually dazzling debate-starter.

I think this movie successfully setup a few different solo films I'm craving and it was visually interesting. Ben Affleck's batman has me interested and this movie makes me more interested in seeing the next Batman solo film than in seeing Snyder's next opening.

While I did enjoy the visual narrative of the film, I thought it was ultimately wasted on a hodgepodge of different storylines that seemed to have disregarded the film's center narrative in favor of packing it full of as many different ideas as possible. So while I do think the story may go in interesting places in the future, this film taken on its own merits did not necessarily work as the brooding piece about what is justice it seemed to want to be.

Nonetheless, I can still enjoy a bad film. Some of the new characters were enjoyable in ways that Snyder's superman is not, the lead-in for Justice League has piqued my curiousity, and the visuals here were better than Snyder's past outing. As someone who hated Man of Steel, I think this is an improvement on Snyder's vision for that movie but how far that will take this franchise and DC movie franchise is questionable to me at best. I would say this film certainly deserved its divisiveness.

I'll give it a rating of 1 for having pretty cool effects. Other than that, it's a incoherent, illogical piece of garbage. The premise for the conflict between these superheroes is totally bogus!

Snyder in the "Batman v Superman", perhaps, reached the pinnacle of his mythmaking work. In the "300" he has mostly stylized the "West-East" mythical dichotomy. In the "Watchmen" he has deconstructed modern
mythological pantheon of comics' pseudo-pagan "deities". However in the "Man of Steel", and in the "300" sequel Zack has not simply played with a myths, but has tried to turn a myths into effective tool to represent
to mass audience real political problems and the genuine myth.

Mythology, long driven underground by rationalism and forced to act using guerrilla methods, appearing in popular culture in the forms of a "scientific" evolutionism, a "scientific" communism and racism, pacifism, humanism and democracy, nihilism and relativism, religious rites, is now boldly enters the scene through the comic book heroes, reviving the pagan pantheon.

Zack has used this modern manifestation of mythology as means to achieve something bigger. Although Christian symbolism was quite timid in the "Man of Steel", pulled into the myth by smuggling, the question of price of democracy in the sequel of "300" sounds quite vocally. But the new "Superman" audio-visually claims to be a complete mythological picture of the world - stunning spectacle with "grim realism" connected with excellent music and an explicitly referenced to the passion of Christ. Here we can see theodicy - "if God is all powerful, why does he allow evil?" - and allusions to rejection of Christ, His sacrifice, perversion of good and evil in today's world, demons putted in the place of angels, the fall of the world, which declared that "God is dead" and summoned demons under the guise of humanitarianism, to an unprecedented evil, hope for good and resurrection, and even the new Saul - Paul - embodied in Batman. Politics is not circumvented in the movie too: here is your "useful idiot" depicted by Holly Hunter, who believes in stuff like that good and evil are determined through dialogue, and here is degeneration of democracy into the rule of mob, regulated like a stream of water at the tap by mass media.

So, we have a full-grown modern myth, and it is pointless to try to criticize a myth from the standpoint of logic - a myth is not based on logical constructs, but on facts and imagination. A myth is a holistic view of reality, not its analytical description. Thus negative critical reviews looks ridiculous - whether those critics are furious because of Christian symbolism, or because of satirizing depicture of the left-liberal useful idiots - they are trying to deconstruct an audiovisual concept on words and letters which are not there, claiming a violation of rules of construction of non-existent sentences. Myths are immune to such kind of criticism, and the critics only expose themselves to be fools, set out to chop up the wind.

Snyder was able to deliver what he wanted to with his myth - he took advantage of modern mythology to undermine its own pagan foundations, dragging in it and actualizing Christianity with its complex ontological questions and insisting on the absolute good and evil, contrary to the beliefs in "dialogue" by left-liberal useful idiots. All these are contained in a beautiful, fascinating mythological form, realistic, gloomy, dynamic and visually stunning. With great score and a wonderful selection of actors - cynical Affleck, ironic Irons, detached Cavill, natural Adams, convinced Eisenberg and antic cold Gadot - all are in their due places.

This movie was one of the best me and my kids have been to in a long time. The plot wasn't hard to follow, the acting was superb, the action was intense. Affleck's Batman is by far my favorite. Dark, angry, brooding, paranoid, and profoundly dangerous. Cavill's Superman is sometimes a bit too internally conflicted, but the guy fits the suit well and they did a great job in this movie of developing the chemistry between he and Lois. I didn't read a bunch of comic books as a kid so I don't know what story lines are pissing off what people, but I do know this movie was very entertaining. This is a movie worth seeing, and I can't wait for Justice League. Did Snyder personally take a dump on all these critics front porches at some point in history? There is no explanation for this much hate. This movie is a triumph. Go see it. Expand

I was pleasantly surprised.

For me as a viewer the lengthy backstory and disparate plots points served to create a rich and engrossing movie. Further, exploring existential questions made for a more enjoyable superhero flick.

I don't know if this is the sort of thing most movie goers are looking for? Maybe they are, maybe they aren't.

I thoroughly enjoyed it.

There were a few convenient incongruities that I feel served to cater to what folks were hoping to see in the movie, such as Superman and Batman's totally unnecessary fight. Why did Superman stop trying to talk to him? A simple explanation would have sufficed.

However, something must fund blockbusters.

Anyways, don't always believe the reviews. What averages across the population may not apply to you. For example... I have hazel eyes. Statistically they should be, or would more likely be, brown. Similarly, statistically you shouldn't like this movie. However, you maybe one of the outliers who does.

So enjoy if you do.

I get it if you don't.

I can't remember ever having made so many jokes during a film. maybe 'twas a well earned honorary dissing by the critics for all the other potentially great flicks which the director Snyder ruined, it would cause me too much anguish to name them. but contrary to the other stuff i've seen by him this film even has some deliberate humor, which works. i particularly liked Jesse whatsit's Lex Luthor, his portrayal was comparably wired to the moon like the Joker played by that dead actor. And it was a cherry on the entertaining cake when one of the title superheroes ended up dead, a few times.. Until at the end he was dead for good.. yippee.. !

It is a follow-up to Man of Steel and the second movie in the DC Extended Universe. The main cast includes the names of Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Jeremy Irons, Holly Hunter and Gal Gadot.
The general public is concerned over having Superman on their planet and letting the "Dark Knight" - Batman - pursue the streets of Gotham. While this is happening, a power-phobic Batman tries to attack Superman.,Meanwhile Superman tries to settle on a decision, and Lex Luthor, the criminal mastermind and millionaire, tries to use his own advantages to fight the "Man of Steel".
I personally really liked Man of Steel and I. generally speaking, am a fan of Zack Snyder so going in to this movie I had really high expectations especially considering that I'm a huge fan of both Batman and Superman also.
I only watched the Ultimate Edition though, so that's what I'm going to be reviewing.
Though quite long at 3 hours and 2 minutes, this is one great movie with amazing sequences and extremely great looking visuals. I personally loved Batman v Superman, Ben Affleck is perfect as Batman and Bruce Wayne. Though everyone was criticizing the choice at first, now that is by far the most praised part of the movie. I believe he is the best on screen Batman/Bruce Wayne we've ever had. Henry Cavill impressed me on Man of Steel and he is just as good here. I liked the whole controversy involving Superman, some of the things that included him and his choices affecting him and his moral values. Gal Gadot was amazing as Wonder Woman. I simply adored her portrayal of the iconic character and her motives genuinely make sense. Jesse Eisenberg did not really bother me as Lex Luthor, I know mostly everybody found his performance flawed and he was probably the most criticized of the cast, but he works on the movie as a villain as he gets the story going.
The end fight between Batman and Superman is amazingly well shot and done. The visuals just felt so real and grim, I personally love that this movie is dark and the cinematography is just brilliant and fitting, so is the fantastic score. The whole Doomsday fight had, as the entirety of the movie, great visuals and even though the story line takes a back seat still it is a superhero movie first and foremost, so that'd great if everybody remembered. Nothing beats seeing the trinity on screen for the first time ever.
The little cameos from the Flash, Cyborg and Aquaman are brilliantly well though out, and just overall awesome.
I have heard a lot of negative reviews for the original theatrical cut, so I hope more people see this version of the movie and appreciate it more.

Spoiler review part
What i liked:
seeing the events of superman in the eyes of different characters and how it affected them. I thought it was cool to see what it was like from the outside looking in.
Batman's twisted character: as a comic book fan, I liked how dark his character was and how scary he should be to everyone else in his world. The scenes of him in the jail cell and in that random gotham place with the captives showed us how terrifying he is (and is supposed to be)
The action: the action was so good
The effects: the effects were amazing
The soundtrack: the sound track was outstanding
I also really liked how big the heroes seemed to be. You could really feel how powerful each one was and how non human they are when they fight. even the small aquaman scene looked epic. unlike other superhero movies, i liked how gigantic the characters here were.
The villain(/s) was(/were) a genuine threat. The impact of the villain(s) was felt. I feel like in other movies the villain ends up being a pushover and not really doing much, or not threatening as much. In this movie the villain was real and you could feel it.
I initially hated the casting for wonder woman, but I loved the actress in the movie. (also her themes song rocked)
Almost all actors were good except for lex.

What i didnt like:
very segmented and dragged out middle part. Lots of story related scenes that would confuse non comic readers, or people who did not pay close attention.
Batman felt a little **** at times. Batman's costume looked bad
Lex luthor was played horribly, actor was really bad, i didnt feel that he needed to play him as a psychotic person, and even when doing so, it was really cringy. he did not deliver.

------------------------------------
bottom line: I really liked the movie, enjoyed it a lot! There were a few things that made me cringe, but overall i had a good time watching it.

I'm just going to say it: I loved this movie. I don't know why people give it such a low score. This movie wasn't bad. Maybe because people nowadays are accustomed to the formula of Marvel movies that this movie, to them, seems boring; but II'm just going to say it: I loved this movie. I don't know why people give it such a low score. This movie wasn't bad. Maybe because people nowadays are accustomed to the formula of Marvel movies that this movie, to them, seems boring; but I assure you, it's not.

The first half of the film is a tense political drama about whether or not the world needs Superman, while the second half of the film shows us that it doesn't need just Superman, but also the rest of the superheroes. Yes, the movie is dark as compared to Marvel's, but to me it's a wonderful change of pace. I always praised DC's comics because they're so much darker, so much close to reality. It leads you to think, to reflect, and to question your morals. That's what this movie does.

Although, I do agree that up to the end of the film, there is a TON of CGI, but we kinda already expected that judging from the trailer.

In my opinion, if you read particular Batman or Justice League comics, you'd know that there are a lot of references to them in the film. Comic books such as The Dark Knight Returns, and Injustice have heavy references here. There are particular scenes that really come from these books, and for me it makes these movies better if you have knowledge of the comic books that they were influenced by. It's like the director or the writers giving you a little wink whenever these scenes pop up with these little references.

Overall, I enjoyed this film. I think Ben Affleck did a great job as Batman, and I never really liked Henry Cavill as Superman, but he did a better job here, for me, than he did in Man of Steel. I look forward to seeing more films with Ben Affleck as Batman.

(Hated Avengers 2 FTR) An excellent second installment into growing the DC universe. While I do understand that many traditionalists might have issues with heroes killing off villains, I think maintaining character expectation of pure untainted goodness overcoming a hostile world full of evil armies with heavy artillery and nukes all while never taking a life is both corny and unrealistic.
Wonder Woman is way cooler than I ever remember the character being. Batman, rugged and dark. Superman uber but still holds onto some of his purity.

My gripes:
Lex Luthor was a young whiney psychopath that happened to have a scientific mind. Far less sophisticated than earlier representations of Lex.
Doomsday (The badass of all badasses) was wasted by being deployed and destroyed so early in the saga. My thoughts also the same for Superman’s demise…. Again too early. The following implication of a resurrection, also too early. The movie was greatly harmed by wasting great long term assets for short term gains.
A definite must see if you’re not looking for the 100% traditional incarnation of these characters.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Batman v Superman is a great movie. Ben Affleck is also a magnificent Batman rivaling both Michael Keaton and Christian Bale. In my opinion though Jessie Hisnberg was a mistake as Lex. Now this movie covers two comics. The battle between Batman and Superman in the dark knight returns and the death of
Superman. As I previously said, yes Superman dies by the hands Doomsday. Most people will think that it's too early to kill off Superman in the second movie, but I thought it was ballsy move and I'm ok with that plus it's great motivation to start the JLA. So if you're a fan of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, or even just good movies give Batman v Superman a watch.

There are two ways to criticize this movie. 1. Compare it with Disney's Marvel and complaint that this movie lacks the colors, quips and fun tone of the MCU. 2. Actually review the movie by itself and the universe its set in.

I am going to go with number 2 way of reviewing it since all the "critics" from clickbait article websites chose to review this movie using method 1. Batman v Superman couldve been a perfect sequel to a perfect Superman movie(Man of Steel). It still is except for few minor imperfections and crazy casting of Jesse Eisenberg and Gal Gadot. Likes:

* Casting: Ben Affleck as Batman and that warehouse fight scene.
* Best Batman ever and those who say Nolan's Batman, just pick a Batman comic fromm your nearest comicbook store
* Superman's unconventional but true to comics portrayal
* Philosophical take on Superheroes
* Hans Zimmers score (I personally believe he shouldve won oscars for this movie)
* Atmosphere of the movie.
* Cinematography
* Zacks understanding of both Batman and Superman characters and the mythos. ( Pseudo fans might disagree just because they read a couple of Batman comics or read somewhere that Batman doesnt kill or Superman doesnt brood. He explores these characters very well and portrayed it fantastically in the movie).
* Lex Luthor's perspective on Superman.
* Every scene is shot like a beautiful painting by itself.
* The opening and ending scenes.
* Importance of human characters and their perspective on Superman.

Dislikes:

* Jesse as Lex Luthor.
* 3rd act seemed rushed. The titular fight scene shouldve taken place during the second act.
* Doomsday couldve looked better.
* Cameos of Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg couldve been avoided.
* Wonder Woman casting.

These are some of my genuine opinions on this movie. I do not understand how this movie is called mysogynistic or panned for having too much masculinity, too much destruction count as reviews by "professional critics". This is a serious movie and when people blame Zack for riding on the success of Nolan's The Dark Knight, guess what Nolan literally pitched the realistic, emotional Superman (Man of Steel movie) to Zack Snyder. Nolan trusted Zack Snyder would be the only director to translate the true mythos of DC universe to screen after watching Watchmen and 300.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. FAAAR better movie than critics would like you to believe, but first I'm going to list out pro and cons:

Pros:

#Ideological conflict between the all powerful and the all knowing is been displayed.

#Lex Luther is better than many of his comic iterations. Intelligent but a psychotic billionaire who is on the same side of the spectrum of power knowledge as Batman. His transformation from a rich billionaire wanting to keep Earth "safe" from aliens to a totally hysteric villian echoes Alfred's comment about how powerlessness can make one evil. In the end, he becomes a powerless version of Donald Trump.

#Batman. Because goddamn Batman! He is considerably more violent that nearly all of his comic iterations. He is more like a battle hardened marine who has a keen eye for truth and ability to foretell future. His dream sequences are hints to what might be coming next. The much maligned scene where Batman decides to not kill Superman because of common mother's name is predictably misinterpreted. Bruce was seeing superman as an all powerful alien to risky to live, just like a nuclear warhead waiting to blow up. But as soon he realizes that he has a mother, that behind that impenetrable skin lives a human like him what makes him realize his folly.

#CGI is very decent unlike people would like to believe. It perfectly renders the larger than life supernatural powers that are Superman, Wonderwoman and Doomsday, clashing with each other. The Bruce vs Clarke fight is relatively tame and "realistic" but is alright because Superman is attacked with cryptonite gas, twice.

#Finally we get to see Wonder Woman live action and the god that lives behind that armor.

#Sweet sweet justice league cameos by both Flash and Aquaman.

#The DCEU vibe is there as well as the Injustice and Frank Miller undertone.

Cons:

#Bit lengthy but that wouldn't matter if you're instantly hooked at the premise.

#Alfred's father figure role wasn't properly discovered.

#There are too many mysteries than remain unsolved which makes me already want the Director's cut.

WELL DONE ZACK SNYDER. BvS is a fantastic movie by all propositions if you are fan of movies that are dark and toy with ideas. If you are here for Marvel like gags and fun break, you're out of luck. This movie is not for you.

This movie had my attention from beginning to end. I found myself saying repeatedly what is going to happen next. And when you consider that a lot of the movie focused on the heroes as their alter ego's that is pretty amazing.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was epic, made me laugh, had me emotional. It is hard for me to believe that most of the average movie goers will not have the same experience.

The movie isn't without it's faults, but it's not anywhere near as bad as people made it out to be.

The acting is solid, the action is fun and plentiful, and the story is pretty good. Most surprising of all was how well Ben Affleck did as Batman/Bruce Wayne. I was VERY skeptical of Affleck's casting, but I'd say he's one of the top actors to take on the role, if not the best. Shocking, I know, but give him a chance and keep an open mind.

The worst part of this film is all of the slow motion and overly dramatic, corny shots. Gotta blame the director. Very amateurish. Also, cutting down on the stupid slow motion shots probably could've cut some of the films epic length. This film also makes use of the toned down colors from Man of Steel in a big way, and it came across like someone going over the top with instagram filters. The only other negative I saw was the lack of dialogue. As great as the acting was, the script did not give them a chance to shine. There was ample room for witty banter (maybe even some comedy), introspection into characters' thinking, backstory, etc. Maybe they could've given the characters a chance to talk, if they'd cut back on all of the slow motion posing.

Anyway, keep an open mind and give this movie a chance. It'll surprise you. (would've given the film a 9, but Holly Hunter is in it.)

Anyways, to the film... Completely different than Marvel's films - and that's a good thing. Zack Snyder is catching way too much flak when he indeed did exactly what a DC universe needed. Why would we want two comic book franchises doing the exact same thing? The acting was good universally, but I was most surprised by Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor. Looking forward to the next chapter in the series.

Superman does this because reasons. Lois Lane does something because her character has nothing else important to contribute to the film. It is not well written. Still, they nailed the characters. Henry Cavill was still great as Superman from Man of Steel. Gal Godot was great as Wonder Woman. Jessie Eisenberg was alright as Lex. But, of course, the best of all was Ben Affleck as Batman. Although, there are times where Superman and Batman kinda go out of character and do things they wouldn't normally do. Still, they were great. The visuals and action scenes were great. Overall, it was a good movie. I enjoyed it. I absoulutely recommend it. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. after a second viewing (had to give it another chance) i was thinking things might clear up, and they did. Not for the better though. The lack of motive for the big fight and Luthor's plan are an even clearer mess. My second viewing also confirms Lex and Doomsday as being the two worst comic book villains to hit the big screen. the bad characterization of Superman not only hurts this film but gives a poor outlook for future films staring the Man of Steel. after strike two with the DCEU i have no excitement for any of the upcoming DC/WB films. my first score of a 5/10 drops a point 4/10. my second viewing of films always give me a more positive view of a movie. not this one, this is a major disappointment and lost opportunity. Lex Luthor was really annoying and so over the top. The fight finally took place at the end of the movie and stopped because of the stupidest reason. I really liked wonder woman even though she was kind of just thrown in. It felt like they tried to cram too much into it in order to catch up with marvel and release a justice league movie, instead of focusing on actually making a good movie. Wish they would find someone other than Zach Snyder. Expand

I was entertained and everything was basically Top Gear cinematography quality.

So is there really in a place in the world for movie critics still? I can not understand how they are slating this movie? But, at least the box office return and fan fare are proof enough that this is going to be a cult classic. Can't wait for the extended Batman vs. Superman. Entertaining and brilliant.

The first time I watched it I felt it was heavy, "as a tank driven with a crank-set" I said when I left the theater; the second time was smoother. Now I'm craving for a third.
Is it a fun movie? Not at all. Is it a good movie? I still don't know. Is it a generative movie? We'll see. Is it a movie you should watch? Yes, definitely; even if you've never read a single comic book. This movie appeals to the deeply rooted knowledge that we have for just living in this era.
Fascism, authoritarianism, discrimination, distrust and the decay of the modern world; but also the hope of redemption in unity and justice.
This movie is a surprising feature in it's own, watch it just because it exists and, most of all, because you will be amazed for it's beautiful cinematography. Every shot is a picture you could frame.
As I heard a critic quoting Man of Steel "'They'll race behind you. They will stumble. They will fall. But in time, they will join you in the sun", that's what this movie is about". I hope that this is what this movie will mean.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The most anticipated movie of the year has currently turned into one of the worst movie of the year for me. I wasn't really expecting much from a movie called "Batman V Superman" but I was expecting something.

The biggest problem I have is the plot. The plot doesn't know when to stick with something or when it should drop something. It feels like I'm watching multiple episodes of a Superman TV show with the odd cut to Batman. I literally couldn't keep a straight face while watching this movie, I was laughing through it. I kept on thinking of the Room when I was watching this because there are so many scenes that go nowhere. The movie is 2 hours 30 mins and for about 2 hours it's trying to get us to understand this story and get immersed in it and they only got me immersed in this plot line was in the 1 hour 50 mins mark. I was only starting to get immersed in it as they were busy cutting it off. I'm still questioning a few of the scenes that were in this movie as well. There's a scene when Superman is talking to Lois while she's in the bathtub for some reason. There's this whole story where it's supposed to show that the public are starting to fear Superman because they're not sure how they can control a God but that didn't seem to go anywhere and it was also cut off around the point I was getting immersed in it and for the rest of the movie, it felt like it had been completely forgotten. So the majority of the film feels like it was a complete waste of time and felt like it went nowhere or if it was intending to go somewhere, I fail to see where it was going. However, I have a different opinion of the last 40 mins of the film. This is where I'm going to get into spoiler territory. The actual fight between Batman and Superman only lasts 5 mins and it happens as the film is nearing it's 2 hour mark. The fight was well staged however and it was well thought out. Batman defeats Superman by using kryptonite weapons to bring Superman down to Batman's ability and Batman brings him down from there. That was an intelligent way for that fight to go. However just as Batman is about to kill Superman, he finds out Superman's mother has the same first name as his so they decide to work together to bring down Lex Luthor. Yes that's the actual reason Batman and Superman team up. Their mother has the same first name. I'm not joking. It isn't the same mother or anything, it's just that their mother has the same first name. That's one of the stupidest reasons I've heard for someone wanting to be my friend. "Hey, we have the same amount of armpit hair, want to be friends?" Then they go on this mission to stop Lex Luthor and save Superman's mother. They save the mother successfully however, Lex Luthor has unleashed Doomsday upon Batman and Superman and they learn he can only be stopped by kryptonite. The only kryptonite weapon Batman has left is a spear, which left in Gotham. Superman goes back to Gotham, saves Louis again (because obviously we haven't see that enough times), takes the kryptonite spear stabs Doomsday killing Doomsday and then Superman dies. I wasn't entirely sure why Superman died. He wasn't hit by the kryptonite (Batman scraped him across the cheek with it and he didn't die then) he was just near it. Superman has a funeral and obviously they had to leave it open for a sequel so Batman says to Wonder Woman "Get the others ready" Wonder woman responds with "how do you know something else will happen?" Batman says "I have a feeling." That segment of dialogue gets my "dreaming of the money" award, when a writer was too busy thinking of the amount of money he was going to be paid for something, he forgot he still had to write a piece of dialogue that was good.

That was me just explaining the last half hour of this movie and it's the most exhausting thing I've ever had to type up. It was like that for the whole 2 hours and 30 mins and I can't think of any better way to explain it than to type up a segment of the film, which I've just done.

If you're going there to see action then you aren't going to be disappointed, but for people like me that aren't satisfied with just seeing action and want something more from the films you see, this is definitely a skip.

**Spoilers**

After seeing this movie twice I went from liking it to loving it!
-I love what they've done with Superman. He's at a point where he sees no matter how much good he does there will always be those who put a spin his deeds. The scene where they had the people on talk shows and only one person says maybe he's not a God or a demon but just a guy trying to do the right thing hit the nail on the head.
-I loved what they did with Lex! His motivation was that he needed to be the one with the power, with meta humans alive especially one like superman he could never have that. Like he says he has all the knowledge of who those beings are but no power over them. Hints the knowledge withought power is paradoxical line. Also it seems like Lex found something out on the kryptonian ship that started driving him little bit insane.
-Lex is able to take over the Kryptonian ship because it still had the master key in it. Remember in Mos Zod says that key has the power to overwrite previous protocols.
-This batman isn't stupid he's just driven and angry and Lex is genius enough to know how to play his emotions just right. So look at it more like Lex is crazy smart just like in the comics.
-I think Batman also misinterpreted the flashes message, and it reinforced he was doing the right thing.
-I love that superman sacrificing himself mad batman re-evaluate how he was doing things and made him feel like he failed the idea superman actually represented.
-Doomsday wasn't the best thing ever but it wasn't so bad it ruined the movie for me. Plus the fight and seeing bats, sups and wonder women working together was AMAZING!
-Was killing superman now any less impactful than it would ever be? Really you know it's not going to be permanent matter when they do it. I think Snyder has some mad balls doing this and the impacts to the story are awesome. Superman's sacrifice is the catalysy to bringing the meta humans together and creating the justice league.
-Wonder Woman was amazing
-Ben Affleck is the best batman

My only real complaint is that you can tell scenes were cut for time. Other than that I'm pumped for what's coming next! 9/10 for me
