    Same as others souls like.. most frustrating and as most unbalanced enemies as possible. You're almost unable to reset the points and everything is so heavy and hard without a reason. 0/10

    Honestly the best game I've played by FromSoft with the one and only knock is that there are many many ways to make this game easier to play. HOWEVER!     Elden ring is perfect for souls fans. I freaking loved this game, both story and combat. The crafstmanship that fromsoft demonstrate in this game is insane. Level design, enemy design, weapons are top notch fromsoft level. Quests are also amazing, the most depth and complicated quests fromsfot has ever developed. Hope this open world formula will be applied on other triple AAA games.

    i'm not a big fan of souls games. But Elden Ring is amazing. Got around 30h and still a lots of ahead. The main problem is that the game got a lots of frames drop. Explore in game is awesome, feeling of fight, builds that you can make are brilliant. 9/10

    Dark Souls: BOTW edition.
    Fans of the Soulsbourne series of games will lap this up. I’m one of them. Takes all the best elements of the games before it and makes it into this huge beautiful sprawling world to get lost in.
    Some of the best boss fights I’ve ever had in any game ever. Runs superb on the Series S. I’m 40 hours in and I’ve barely scraped the surface of the game.

    Ahh... The Elden Ring. What an adventure. I haven't had such a good adventure since Breath of the Wild. A game where curiosity rewards, A game that challenges you, a game that is learning you, to step back and comeback later.

    Elden Ring deservers nothing more then a 10 out of 10. The only thing I dislike is that I never can go back to Dark Souls or any other souls game.

Performance and bugs will prob be fixed in time but gameplay cant, Def not a masterpiece but a very good game, fans of souls will like i was just hoping for more innovation. PLZ FROM GIVE US SEKIRO 2

World rendering, Weapon clipping and hitbox issues. However a majority of the bosses are fresh and fun and great. Some bosses are just lazy but other Dark Souls games have had this issue. It really does pick up near the end of the game but it is not a masterpiece by any means. It is good, not great and not perfect.     If you activate multiplayer features in this game you also get the invasion system which is nothing but a feast for grievers and can‘t be deactivated. Which makes it impossible to play a relaxed coop session. If you don‘t care it might be a great game.

    Simply incredible. This is the first Soulslike game I’ve played longer than a few hours. It’s great. Combat is fun, and the art direction is top notch.

    Sad to see all the low user reviews from players who probably never made it out of Lingrave. These games may not be for everyone but this specific entry is a masterpiece in my opinion. Could not recommend this game enough.

    It basically is just a fighting simulator. There is nothing more in this game. Run around, fight difficult to impossible (for me) battles, grind endlessly, progress extremely slowly, and, from time to time, discover items that may or may not be useful for you.
    You will die a lot, lose all character progress regulairly, and generally, have no idea what this game is actually about. The story is non-existent, the world is extremely lifeless, and just filled with enemies that wait only or you, and the storyline will come to an end pretty fast, because you will just not be able to beat the bosses. At least, if you are a casual gamer iike me.
    Which forces you to battle easy opponents forever, as rewards and character developement are hardly more than a cosmetic feature.

    Of course there are ways to exploit the game, but as soon as i need youtube in a tab to achieve any chance of progression, a game has failed for me.

    My last experience in this game, after exploring the whole starting region desperately, was a sorceress who finally enabled me to learn new spells. Which gave me hope, that the torture had come to an end.
    And guess what: Those spells are far weaker than the weak ones, that you start with. Its a slap in the face, and im sure, that its an intended one.

    No graphics issue on ps5. Stop review bombing this game based on pc performance! Throughly enjoyed my 10+ hours PER DAY in the last three days. Honestly think this is game of the decade. Open world is full of interesting stuff. You JUST NEED TO LOOK FOR THEM!

    The Game is "MUST PLAY" on every system but not on Series X… WHY? (even if the score is lower on PC version)

    But technically it's not perfect, need more patch to have 60fps on Series X

    This is a master piece, a great game like other studios can't do. No micro-transactions, no dlc, no loot box, no NFT, just a GREAT video Game!

Movement and combat certainly have improved compared to previous iterations of this game. The overall accessibility is still very bad, be it by design or incompetence. For example, the inventory is so clunky and dated. Key information onThe game is fun but certainly not a 10 nor is it a 0. It adds nothing new to gaming that hasn’t been done elsewhere and typically done (much) better. Movement and combat certainly have improved compared to previous iterations of this game. The overall accessibility is still very bad, be it by design or incompetence. For example, the inventory is so clunky and dated. Key information on items stats is hidden, for a “core” game this should be easily accessible. Most of the game’s difficulty comes from obfuscation of the game’s mechanics, so you have to resort to online guides & walkthroughs.

    Lack of content. FROMSOFTWARE has managed to "Call of Duty" -ify dark souls. It's rinse and repeat. Take out the open world and you have dark souls. Open world fails in a game that was originally designed to be a linear gameplay. I wish they took notes from Breath Of The Wild and saw what did not work.

    First of like to mention, I'm on Xbox series X. I haven't had any problems that people mention, framerate or otherwise. I bought digital, and have it installed directly to xbox console. In the past, I learned not to let games upset me. I would now normally turn off the game and come back later. I will not break another controller or TV.     Why is this game immune to basic critiques other games get ROASTED for? Its open world...is bad. Pure and simple. It's big? it's open? But it's 2022 and EVERY open world has to be more than just open and big. The level design is crude and linear. Choice in design amounts to "path with traps" or "path with no traps". To much of dungeons is walking on basic rooftops with no level design whatsoever on them. It's lazy. They should have cut the game in half and focused. Dungeons and villages are copy-paste, traps are crude, there is just too much yet so little outside of the combat.

    Which would be fine, if the game weren't acting like it was anything more than just combat.

    I honestly do really enjoy this game's gameplay, but for 2022...it's pretty subpar as far as diversity of offerings and complexity of systems. I've gotten about 1/2 the way through (I've done most everything up to entering the Capital and I'm level 90ish) and I'm pretty much burned out. The story, frankly, is just lore...that's it. You've got 1 real story going on and the rest is just set dressing to explain gameplay choices that were already present in Dark Souls...aka, it's not story. There is nothing compelling here. It's just beautiful metaphorical imagery that amounts to pretty much nothing narratively other than a loose allegory for life that's so vague and lacking in substance that it's just boring. They stole the death rune? Neat...what does that mean? That we can revive...that's it. The entire plot is just telling you why you are playing a dark souls game.

    At what point does "mysterious" end up just being "vague and empty"...because my experience has been thinking something was coming, and being disappointed OVER and OVER.

    I don't want quest logs or map icons telling me where to go, but this game won't even give you enough story context to tell you the next step in a quest. They just give you a dagger and say "give it to the person who owns it"...like what the actual ???? It's like they forgot to finish the game. I have spent a vast swathe of time playing this game, doing nothing but looking up the next step because the game gave me NOTHING and I'm not gonna waste my time searching for a needle in a haystack.

    I LOVE solving puzzles, I love piecing together information, I love open story design...my favorite game of all time is Outer Wilds. This game, just frankly sucks outside of the combat (which is still dated)...deeply. The horse controls are pretty mediocre and lack in clarity, bosses are all dodge spam and lack interesting mechanics (I can name like 3 bosses that actually felt neat but 1 of them was so bad at the same time I don't even want to mention him).

    I am TOTALLY FINE with how hard this game is...if anything it's the easiest dark souls ever. It's just only a dark souls game.

    I do think, for a Souls gamer...this game is gunna be a 10/10...don't hesitate. Buy it.

    But for me, a person who has played this kind of game before...I'm just not interested in more of the same.

    Being conservative, not pushing your game franchise to be more, that's not something that should be rewarded with the amount of praise this game is getting...there is SO MUCH this game franchise could do to bring out greater gameplay complexity while maintaining its unique stamp. Being open world isn't revolutionary. Not having basic UI elements isn't revolutionary. Telling a vague story badly isn't compelling. These are problems.

    This game is deeply overhyped...period. But so are many games, such as BOTW...which was also great in many categories while mediocre in others. However, BOTW was actually innovative. It took risks. This game is a singleplayer MMO from 2004 with better combat. Thats how crude it feels to engage with the world and story and level design. That has to count for SOMETHING in the score.

    So I'm sorry but I have to dock this game...it's not perfect, it lacks so much. In a RPG game market that is deeply more complex than this title I don't really see what it is doing so right that it warrants a 10/10...it's just doing so little and pumping out a lot...so that's all games have to be now? That's just what AC is doing and everyone docks AC?...and I like this more than AC...but how is this game dodging the basic criticism the industry applies to every other similar title?

    Sifu and Hades has done more to move the Dark Souls formula forward than FromSoft has...it's bad. This isn't the next BOTW, this is just another Dark Souls title. Don't be deluded by the hype    … Expand

    FromSoftware have out done themselves and I believe this game will have a spot among one of the greatest games ever made and has a new stepping stone of what an open world can bring pushing the genre forward but also the gaming industry as a whole.
    The bar has been raised so high and after writing this review I'm gonna go play Elden Ring some more.

I play it on my XSX in 2K and the 60 fps is stable for me. Only in 4k mode it fluctuates between 45/50-60 fps. Also online works for me from 1 day without problems.     Graphically, the game is no Horizon Forbidden West, which was never expected. It is a beautiful Dark Souls game.

    I read a lot of negative reviews here that classify the game as too hard and only got it because of the open world. If you haven't played a Souls game yet, I think you should do so first. For anyone who says it was only rated well by Souls fans, YES BECAUSE IT IS A SOULS GAME. I don't understand the negative review because the game is like Dark Souls, that's what it's supposed to be and I thank From Software for that too. From Software has not only kept its own game concept, they have also improved a lot of the negative things that bothered me about Dark Souls.

    This is not a generic mainstream sony open world game. Anyone who thinks they are getting a standard Sony open world game like Horizon, Days Gone, etc should stay away from Elden Ring.

    Anyone who is a fan of the Dark Souls series and especially the first part, this game is a must! Elden Ring is a masterpiece from From Software. They have managed to take the best of their last games and combine it with an incredibly large open world. The game has the atmosphere of Dark Souls 1 (to the point that I feel like I did the very first run of Dark Souls 1, both nostalgia and the childlike joy of exploring an unknown world), it has the movement of Dark Souls with nuances of Sekiro.

    The open world seems nice but a bit empty and the first dungeons very (that's how I felt) , the Souls feeling did not come up immediately. BUT! After 50 hours of playing I understand why this was so at the beginning. The game should go in the mainstream direction whereby newcomers should settle into the game concept in the first area. After the first boss and the first castle, the Souls feeling really kicks in and content is thrown at you. So many different beautiful worlds, secret paths, interesting quests and many many random surprises on his journey there has never been in a Souls game.

Its just a really nice fighting game with a nice character creation. Just not one of those go to games you can play over and over again.     This game is amazing. it has some issues regarding performance but that can be fixed with a patch. the game is way more nonlinear. if you are having trouble with a boss you can just leave the boss and go level up and return to defeat it. which helps a lot. on top of that, the art style of this game is amazing. proving that art style beats graphics. I mean did you see the Erdtree?! .     Elden Ring is a dated looking poorly optimized game with interesting and fleshed out character build and combat mechanics that only seems to serve the niche of gamers who like the soulslike formula. I believe this game having a rave metacritic would falsely give the impression that it's appealing for masses of casual gamers hence my review.

    As a fan of open world RPG genre carrying many other responsibilities which obliges me to not be able to spare extended stretches of time or entirety of my intellectual capacity to a video game, I found this game to be a poor experience.

    There are a few critical points Elden Ring ignores whether it's intentional or not. Game experience is very unguided. You will likely have bad time figuring out how to progress the story or even what the story is, and consequently you will find yourself wandering around weak mobs in a monotone routine if you don't enjoy that kind of tedious exploration. World is quiet desolate and falls into pitfalls Ubisoft RPGs are prevalently considered to fall into while having no cities or areas bustling with energy many other RPGs offer.

    Accessibility is very poor. Bosses are quiet challenging to the extent that even an experienced gamer who just doesn't have experience with genre will have nightmare time unless one enjoys attempting a single boss fight for more than a dozen time especially given that there are often no tooltips or guidance on how to make certain fights easier given lack of difficulty options for user to choose. This often requires player to memorize move set of the boss while dying numerous times where poor optimization causes big problems as frame drops hinder the application of this memorization as well. This is in addition to the fact that game requires almost impeccable gaming reflexes to apply any of the move set memorization to an efficient enough degree to win these fights.

    Overall, I can see the attraction of this game for the fans of this genre but it is not a game that deserves the acclaim reserved for experiences that can be enjoyed by majority of the overall open world RPG genre like the Witcher 3 or Red Dead Redemption 2 do deserve.    … Expand

The scenery is beautiful and the open world is very, very detailed, with a trip into an unassuming shack taking you on a quest spanning multiple hours. The enemies are diverse and always keep you on your toes and every battle is a little bit different. The game allows you to play in a multitude of ways, in a very non-linear style of story telling where you have to figure things out on your own. This makes the game very rewarding and finally beating a boss which you've been beaten by 50 or so times brings unmatched satisfaction.    … Expand

    This game is amazing. The open world is great and gives you hours of exploration. The weapons, magic, and armour in this are all really cool and everything feels different. The game is hard but if you explore and train you will beat it and feel more rewarded than a game which holds your hand. This is one of the best games I have ever played.

And then you sink into it with all the different weapon and magic options you have as you level up. Infinite builds and playstyles.     지금까지 갓겜들이라고 나온 오픈월드 RPG게임들도 초반엔 최적화 이슈가 있었기 때문이다.

    하지만 확실한건 엘든링은 진짜 잘만들고 재밌는 AAA급 초우주갓겜인건 확실하다.

    아니, AAA급 초우주갓겜이라는 수식어로도 엘든링을 설명하기 힘들다.

    This game is fantastic. It's a fromsoftware game; if you don't like difficulty or want the story handed to you, well then this isn't the game for you. If you like souls games then you will probably love this one. You will die a lot, the game is a challenge. The combat is grueling and takes a while to master.

    Game is absolutely stunning. Runs with 0 issues on my Series S from my personal experience. Bosses are fairly challenging, regular enemies vary in difficulty, but most of all.... the game allows you to go out and explore the vast world with the only punishment being the players(yourself) lack of skill. I'm blown away with how amazing this game truly is. 10/10 in my books.

    I am not sure what the story. Every quest is abstract and there is no quest log.

    The graphics are very dated, but aesthetically, the game looks nice. Gameplay/controls are janky. World is big, pretty, and shallow.     I love this game, im older now and dont have much time to play being a single dad so not much time to "git gud" or whatever but this game reminds me of how games are supposed to be. No slot machine lootbox bs or pay to win systems. The open world is EXTREMELY addicting and I find myself getting excited to beat enemies and bosses like I did when I was younger. Never played souls so theI love this game, im older now and dont have much time to play being a single dad so not much time to "git gud" or whatever but this game reminds me of how games are supposed to be.     This game does as much for the Souls like games as Breath of the Wild did for Zelda. And it’s amazing! If you absolutely don’t like the Souls games or have a really hard time with the combat, this may not change your mind, but if your curious it’s definitely worth checking out!

    I am almost 50h into game, story and pvp.
    Yes game have issues like performance, graphic hickups and OP blood loss... But this game is out of this world. 10/10

    Amazing game with a polish and tried and true combat system, with the introduction of posture damage, guard counters, horse combat and a more diverse and interesting magic system, the combat has never felt better.

    Love this game, im new to the series but it has given me a level of inmersion I have not felt since rdr2. The difficulty is perfect, it makes you lear your enemies moves and weaknesses in order to beat them. People that say that its too hard they have no patience ir just dont like games that take time.     This is the worst game I have ever played. The visuals are outdated and the game play is all button mashing. This game is supper buggy and impossible to play. This game should be removed from the xbox and playstation stores to protect others from waisting there money.

    Despite some annoying performance issues, Elden Ring is a masterpiece. The combat, enemy variety, exploration, music, and open world are top notch. I’ve been playing it daily across all platforms alongside other games all month, and look forward to doing that all year as I try new builds, help friends, and try to do everything I want in this triumph of a video game.

    Elden Ring rewards your curiosity in many ways, be it items, runes or a pathway to another area, but mostly it’s a story to tell your friends when you are sharing tales around the bonfire. It does not force feed tutorials down your throat, but instead it leans far the opposite way by not telling you much at all and lets you explore and find things out on your own. There is no true quest log, no points of interest on a map or no arrows pointing you in the right direction, so there is a good chance you’ll miss some of the best caves and areas of the game. Because of all of this, Elden Ring is forcing me to find all of that out on my own and it is one of the most rewarding games I have ever played. I will continue to explore the Land Between for many hours to come. I’m just not in a hurry.

    Elden Ring manages to draw the player into a fascinating world for many hours, with refined gameplay that fits perfectly with the freedom granted to the player. A sumptuous but imperfect work, which fails to completely overcome some of the historical flaws of Hidetaka Miyazaki's productions. Flaws that, however, can't diminish the scope of a masterpiece destined to leave an indelible mark on the videogame world and to set new standards for the souls-like and open-world genres.
