    Microsoft better start coming out with better exclusives. We all spend a lot for their product and all we are seeing are low quality games. Sea of Thieves is not worth the 65 dollars. The last few games for the system haven't been worth the time and money. I guess we all bought a 500 dollar dust collector!

    What a waste of time! This game is so dull and repetitive. Sea Of Thieves is suited to be a mobile game and not a very good one at that. Try it on game pass, but Don't expect very much from this boring game!

    The game throws players off the deep end, giving them ZERO info about how to play. looking back, the only way I would get it would be if it is free. A HUGE stinker for your 60$.

    Frustrating from the very outset. Appalling game. It just isn't fun. Repetitive, infuriating tasks that should be easy and straightforward become a time consuming chore. Avoid even if free.

    It's a cool concept very poorly executed. Had the game offered real progression and a wider variety of objectives, it could have been something truly special. Instead, you play the same mission over and over on different islands. There's nothing to strive for other than cosmetic upgrades. There's no actual challenge or goal. It's hardly something you will come back to after playing a few missions.

    Sailing feels great. Riding the waves and hearing the creaking wood of the ship really sets the mood. Its all downhill from there... The map is tiny and all there is to do is repeat the same three kinds of fetch quest. You can try everything there is to do in this game in five hours or less. In Australia, the (frequent) Server down times are exactly when you would expect to play it (about 7pm). It's great that it's on Game Pass, but I'll return when it has actual content.     Where's the game? Seriously, after 3 or 4 hours you just wanna go play anything else rather than do the same crap again. Contrasted to Monster Hunter which is a grindy game also, at least the grind is fun and productive in that game.

    I predict that once the pro reviews start rolling in this will end up with about a 60 metacritic score.

    Bad doesn't even describe. It's not bad, it's just... nothing. a sea of nothing. It's basically a tech demo. It should NEVER be shown to the public in current state, let alone sold for $60. What a joke. Thank God for GamePass. My priars go to those who paid for this.

    More a technology demonstrator or proof of concept than an actual game. After an hour or so you have done it all. No story, no progression, nothing. Massive potential but you have to think they left the vast majority of the game on the backlog.

After playing this game for a mere 3 hours I suddenly realized that I had done everything there is possible to do in the game there are 3 fetch quests, pointless multiplayer with zero rewards and kracken with no rewards and no body. After that, it just turned into a repetitive boring grind fair play to rare, though they have managed to make a game with even less contentNo Man's Sea...     Launched a game with bad servers. Couldnt play the night it released and got home from work the next day and still couldnt play. We can excuse it as launch day problems and continue to support this bad habbit of launching products that dont work, Or we can let developers know this is not ok. Rent out extra servers to handle initial inrush of customers and dial back once launch is over.

    Use os 14 dias gratuitos da Game Pass pra testar o jogo, porque definitivamente não vale sua compra. O jogo lembra uma beta, com tão pouco conteúdo presente. O end-game? Destravar cosmeticos pro seu pirata. Senso de progressão? Nenhum. Sinceramente, nem perca seu tempo.

    An interesting game idea that could have been fun. Unfortunately, the game is overrun with griefers and is a total gank fest of crews in galleons slaughtering new players just for fun. And BEWARE -- the Microsoft Store offers no refunds, so if you want a refund, too bad!

I put "game" in quotes because there isn't much game there. The only game this generation more empty of things to do was No Man's Sky but this sure is giving it a run for it's money.     And yes, this game is meant to be played with a full crew, with mics and this is another reason why it will be in the bargain bin by summer. And why they included "single player" is beyond me, it has even less to do than the multiplayer with a crew.

    As someone lucky enough to have extra income I picked up an Xbox One X (after selling my Xbox One S over a year ago) thinking that maybe NOW Microsoft would have some good games. But Sea of Thieves is just further proof that Xbox One is done for.    … Expand

    This game is an skeleton of a great game. The dynamics are there, the graphics are there. The environment... its just not there. Not only there is a giant problem with the lack of cosmetics, quests types, progression system, there is a giant one, and falls in the problem of the emptiness of the world. The world just feels empty, some handpicked npcs, and empty generic islands all over the world.

    This game while it has nice graphics is in need of some real interface work. Take a page out of Pirates of the Carribean game. The steering and shooting should be easier to manage. The story line needs to be more intuitive. Go here get this bring it there. There should be an option to purchase gold as well. Don't know why this game was released without thinking it through.

    I´we played this game alot and really gave it a chance 35+lvl in every thing, and its getting at bit borin now, doing the same thing over and over for 80+hours encounter the same enymies, same islands, same quest, to get a bit of amount of gold to buy some Cosmetics, and the amount of Cosmetics, is nothing big, wish is another deal breaker, when the game is about getting Cosmetics. in a week or so, every ship will look the same since, there arent many diffrent skin.

    Dont buy this game for 60$ its more like 20$ worth at the max, and should have a earlie access stamp.

    -unique game environment

    Cons
    -4 hours of content tops unless you want to spend the 200+ to reach pirate legend doing the same quests over and over and over again on an endless grind of GO TO POINT A, GO TO POINT B AND GET EXP
    -0 progression at all, completing quests does nothing but give you exp and gold that go towards pure cosmetic customization of your ship and pirate
    -the Kraken is literally just a tentacle simulator with a low resolution texture slapped on it that is more of an annoyance than an actual threat
    -PVP is completely unsatisfactory. It devolves into players waiting on the enemy ship and killing them as they spawn with no chance of fighting back.
    -Doing skull forts is impossible most of the time because if you do sink the enemy ships that are incoming 99% of the time, they spawn not even 2 minutes away infinitely with a fresh supply of cannonballs, wooden planks, and healing items. It is an arduous grind of seeing who will tire out first and leave.
    -THE PRICE POINT, how can this game demand $60 when games that are worth $15-$30 have had infinitely more content, progression, and customization options on their releases.

    Final Thoughts: Simply do not buy this game, it is a cash grab by mircrosoft and rare.ltd to make a quick buck off the hype train this game had going for it.    … Expand

    Parents, this game is not for children. This game has satanic symbolism and its going to put a curse on your pure children. My son was even temporarily controlled by the Devil, he said "Mom, its just a game". My heart was torn in half. I felt I have failed as a mother. But my husband got an exorcist so we managed to get the devil out of him. Please do not commit the same mistake as I have.

    1 type of enemy in the game, wait 2 if you count Kraken. 3 types of fetch missions. No progression, pvp stats, ranks, guilds etc. You name it, this game wont have it. Oh and i guess there was more ships than 2 back in the pirate day?

    A new low for modern video games. It is a real shame where we are with the state of modern gaming. I was right to be suspicious of the amount of hype surrounding this game. After playing for a couple of hours it becomes quickly apparent that there is very little to do in the game besides "have a laugh with mates" but even that wears thin eventually. Playing on Xbox is an uphill battle dealling with PC players with the advantages inherent with PCs, PC cheats, etc. Crossplay was always listed as a feature but it was never stated that it would be MANDATORY. UntilI was very excited for Sea of Thieves amidst my friends telling me it wasn't going to be good. Wish I listened. The core of the game is pretty good but not worth the money. Playing on Xbox is an uphill battle dealling with PC players with the advantages inherent with PCs, PC cheats, etc. Crossplay was always listed as a feature but it was never stated that it would be MANDATORY. Until the developers see reason and add an option to toggle crossplay on and off, this game will continue to spit in the face of Xbox users. It's a shame because we PAY for Xbox Live access on top of the game cost, and we're the ones getting shafted.

    Also do NOT buy a digital copy of this game. If you want a refund you have to put in some work to get it.    … Expand

Navigating the map can be challenging but once you get used to identifying the unique characteristics of the island it becomes second nature, with no need for any automated assists that games so often feel obligated to provide. In terms of the rules that govern the game, it feels like an open canvas that you can interpret as you like. Getting used to the basics doesnt take long but mastering the finer aspects of playing the game is something that may be difficult to pick up on.

    Bear in mind, this is a game all about social interaction. You can play it solo but the open seas are a lonely place. Not only is it very challenging to strike it on your own, but it also misses the point of this game. This game is meant to be played with other sea worthy mateys, not only to work is best but also gives the best opportunities for strong emergent gameplay. This game is most about the stories that you can tell and remember, stories involving exploring shipwrecks, dueling with other players, fending off the kraken, and many other things thar can happen.

    I have spent many hours at sea and have only explored a handful of the locations. The way missions work are largely randomly generated quests so it can feel repetitive when there is a lack of variety in the objectives. Bear in mind though that the quests do get stronger with multitiered goals as you increase your ranks. The people saying there is nothing to do or see after just a few hours seem to take assumption that the game is solely based on the early types of quests given. They don't seem to understand that player interaction adds to the depth and scope of everything they experience in this game. They don't see the ocean for its islands, if you will. This isnt a game about grinding to an endgame, it is an evolving experience that with time and updates will flourish. Rare is back!    … Expand

    Those reviewing this game as a 10 (perfection) must be new to gaming and have nothing to compare it too. I can think of two dozen games release in the past 12 months that make this game look laughable. Cartoonish graphics, obviously not an artistic choice but a cheap way to substain a decent frame rate, shallow gameplay, and lacking in just about everything that modern gamers deserve.

You will end up getting spawned killed over and over and over and over on your ship. You will get hunted by the same group of people even thought they killed you and know you dont have any valuable gold on your ship. Just because its easy for them. and think of it . PC vs xbox in a first person shooter who wins that fight ?

    Taking it up on the forums is pointless because the same group of people are active on the forums and made any discussion about this just toxic , this ranges to threats to personal attacks while moderators dont handle this to make sure you have a constructive discussion. But using swear words like Sh*t is not ok that will get you a warning or even a ban.

    Then there is the ingame content. From the alpha to beta to final game there has not really been added allot of content .. actually it seems from beta to final game they even downscale the game ? merchant missions are simple fetch and catch missions. other missions are ok though.

    The game is also riddled with allot of bugs that where not in the alpha or beta, Joining is a pain because on peak times its basically pointless playing since you wont ether get in or you wont get or keep your progress. Full character deletions or most items gone for ever have also been part of ongoing issues. Rare seems not to care to much ether here and tells people just to wait its a bug that re logging fixes and ignores people reporting that its not and that the bugged state is actually saved to your account now. all in all

    This is way to expensive ,
    Gets soon microtransactions to even milk people more.
    Ingame PVP mechanics are bad and abused allot.
    Community overrun by toxic players making this for sure not even a 12 year + game when real bad proofanity . threats and other harassment is screamed both in game and you get harassed on the forums while moderators refuse to take actions.

    And now Cheaters are also on top of that reported with rare responding .. Just report there name and proof.. Issue is you cant see other peoples player names. Its like they dont even care.

    With all thats going on , issues , bugs, double moral , rare not caring .. the high price (btw that might differ from country to country but in Australia its 100 $ right now and other people report same high local prices ) i can not in anyway recommend this game    … Expand

    Thought I would give it a go as its on gamepass and it says can play solo. Turns out its your typical crap multi-player game. Couldn't even explore the seas or do first quest without boat getting destroyed constantly by giggling kids.
    Fortnite in a boat.

    What a joke this game is. How can today, a triple AAA game like this, charged full price, be delivered with no content at all? You play 30min and that's it you saw everything. Sure, it is fun with friends for a little bit, but it get repetitive SUPER fast.

    Microsoft is starting to really sink, I'm about to sell my Xbox because all I play is ps4 exclusives.

    Grande porcaria esse jogo, e ainda tem gente que prefere esses exclusivos lixos do Xbox One do que os do PC, PS4, Switch. Esse jogo é totalmente hypado, só tem um mapa, e é 100% Online, ou seja, se você tiver sem internet na hora de jogar, você vai fica chupando o dedo. Não recomendo esse jogo pra ninguém, esperem pelo State of Decay 2, porque Sea of Thieves é uma bela de uma porcaria.

    Shame this comes from a previously great studio, has nothing going for it it seems that business as usual Rare started developing and funds stopped half way through so had to push it out in its current state, feel sorry for Rare. The game is boring beyond imagination and worse yet we're asked 60 USD/EUR for it.

    The ONLY thing you receive in the game is cosmetic items for all that gold you haul, that combined with a 1st person perspective means you don't even see your character, not that you would want to, the character models are deliberately made grotesque (even the mermaids are hideous). I'm thinking there was a strong SJW influence over this game with the "no one loses" mentality and only fat chicks allowed, beauty is forbidden.

    The only standout hope for the game is PvP ship battles, but the weaponry sucks. Ultimately this game feels like a $5 mobile game, and I don't see any reason to pay more for it. If you want a good game try building a boat in Ark Survival Evolved, it has incredible depth and freedom, a very underrated game.    … Expand

    One enemy type (not including the bodyless kraken. A dismal amount of weapons. Finding treasure chests, only to realise you need to take it to some guy to open it who gives you gold every single time. Yuck..... We have the most powerful console and this is what we get, sad time to be a Xbox owner.

    I've played the game since before it released and it is currently the worst it has ever been.

    The community is toxic and never cooperate, which means you can't enjoy most of the games content.
    The devs refuse to add PvE servers and so I recommend anyone and everyone avoid this hell by not playing.

No progression system at all. You only play for cosmetics and after like 2 hours you have seen pretty much everything this game has to offer. Dont wast your money on this early access No Many Sky like game!

    We have nothing but respect for Rare's vision with Sea of Thieves, but it is a game as likely to chew you up and spit you out, as it is to embrace you. If the wind is in your favour then it can be a delight, but a storm is never far off if you lose momentum. The real test of the quality and efficacy of Rare's plan will be in how it manages to evolve and grow in the weeks and months to come. [Issue#199, p.67]
