Awesome as expected from IW. The new engine is so smooth and dynamic, Spec ops is great, and online is still the best around. Call of Duty wins again!

It is the best COD game I've played I really liked the changes they did to the multiplayer is what I like best, the campaign seemed to me epic, vertical, above all entertaining. I did not expect anything from this call of duty but has left me with mouth open and confident hope to play all year greetings.

MW3 is what every CoD fan should want. A polished version of the great game we all love. I'm surprised how many negative user reviews they are? How many of the bad reviews were written by disappointed BF3 players???? There's no such thing as a CoD killer.........

Haters gonna hate. But I love it. Multiplayer system of perks and streaks different from Black Ops. No more money system, but you unlock points to unlock weapon attachments and streak. Also, different types of streaks (assault vs support) conform to how you play.

Does it feel like mw2? yes, does it feel like dlc..a little. Is it the same fun and consistency you expect fomr cod yes. 60 bucks a year for new maps and new features seems fair to me, I think it is just "cool" to hate on this game right now.

I don't see why there is so much negativity around this game. It wasn't bad at all, infact it was great. Why anyone would expect it to be different than Modern Warfare 2 is beyond me, considering they take place within a day from each other. Either way the gameplay is fun and it's an overall well made game.

So....... Modern Warfare 3 it's finally upon us, is it good? Yes I think it rounds off the story pretty well, and the MP is much better than the others. Only problem I have with these games is they lose there appeal quickly cause its far to much of the same, car wait for my copy of skyrim

I give it a 10. Common its Call Of Duty...Its the best game you ever played. The reason these scores are so low is because people who enjoy it don't want to put the controller down long enough to review it. It's tough to argue the sheer amount of people playing the game!

(CONS) Quick scoping is annoying and should be removed from the game. Host migration can sometimes be a pain and see you kicked out of games.

MW3 becomes more polished with each iteration and this is no exception. . Even if you hate MW3 as you didn't think it brought anything new to the table there is no way it deserves the unfair score and super harsh criticism. Mark MW3 on its merits and you will see it for what it is. A very highly polished game. IMO the highest polished FPS to date.

This game may have one or two flaws, but that doesn't mean it should get a zero. Hell, it shouldn't get anything below an eight. This is one of the best games people will ever play, but they don't like the way a certain gun sounds when it is fired, so they give it a two. I am disappointed at how little my generation cares. Oh, yeah, the games great by the way.

COD seems to have fallen into the Madden franchise habit of making each new release seem little more than an expansion pack for COD4. It's unrealistic to ask each release to be as game changing as COD4 but eventually a huge gameplay change needs to take place before I can give a new COD game more than an 8. In closing: The graphics are great, the campaign is fun but short and the multi-player is addicting as always but same old same old. Expand

It is pathetic what so many nerdy fanboys choose to do just because they didn't like the game. MW3 is far from being the the best COD, and this comes from a real COD fan and player. So far this year i've played many sequels: saints row 3, assassins creed, Uncharted 3 and many more and i would love for somebody to tell what major differences those games have from their predecessors? Hell, the only difference between Uncharted 2 and 3 were a couple guns and the ability to customize their characters! and guess what? i didn't care! i didn't go on here and give the game a 1 just because of that! This just proves that rating systems from average users are BS and it makes me questions every other rating on here from users! are they legit or are they from a bunch of pissed off 12 year olds? this game isn't a 10, but it's farther from a 1! or a 3.2! i give this game 8.0. While it looks similar, the gameplay is far from the same. The support classes which help team members are good for players who want to help their team out and don't care about K/D, something that wasn't available in previous CODs. And the fact that taking over bases and going for the objectives helps towards your pointstreak helps a lot in making the game more objective based. But i guess that first thousand reviewers who chose to review in the first several hours of the release date wouldn't have know that. What if people would have done that for fanboy games like BF or Halo? omg, we would have a bunch of pissed of cry babies. I thought the single player would have sucked, but even though it was short, i've played through it 3 times (one time on veteran) and am planning on going a fourth time to find all the intel and get all the trophies. It's sad when you see the rating system so messed up. Only 252 people gave it an average review? in my opinion all the negative comments should be in the yellow review area! at least then the reviews would be more legit! What's sad is that the negative comments backfired on all the fanboys. If the reviews would have been around a 6.0 or a 7.0 then people would have taken the reviews seriously and decided not to buy it, but every person i know that read the reviews here laughed all the no life losers who had nothing better to do that give the review a 1. There are no games that have sequels that are truly reinvented and the ones that do are usually terrible *cough* Call of Juarez *cough*. And yes even battlefield 3 had literately no differences! it's just prettier and has jets! please tell me any other differences? the snipers work the same! the game modes are the same! yes it has a lot of guns, but it's obvious that most are some are better than others and all you see is that same guns online! and this is coming from somebody who plays BF3 and likes it more than COD! but just because i like BF3 better than COD it sure as hell doesn't mean i give the game a terrible review! I gave myself a couple weeks before reviewing, so i'm sure that my review is probably more legit than the bunch of 1's and 10's that put on here every 5 minutes. I wan't all the fanboys who say that MW3 is the same as COD4 and look at the differences between saints row 2 and 3 and uncharted 2 and 3 (both games that are reviewed highly both critically and with users) and find a major difference? something totally recreates the game and make it so much more reinvented? then i want you to think about BF3 and BFBC2 and tell me major differences that reinvent them? and not just prettier graphics and jets! i want to see if you can find any! and if you do and you think i'm full of cr@p email me and let's see how good of an argument you have: jakobpeter16@yahoo.com (that's a fake account i have for random things i do) I hope all you little kids that reviewed the game so low to look and say whether or not it realley is a 3.2 and whether or not you guys made the same mistake on every other sequel you ever reviewed? Any game that can keep me looking forward to the next gaming session gets a high score for me. MW3 does that and then some. Kill Confirmed and the new Strike Packages are a nice new addition that change up the dynamic enough so it's not all about the K/D ratio, which is a plus in my book.

My previous review was wrong. This game is **** sub par. MW2 was a much better multiplayer and campaign experience. This isn't even made by the same studio, because almost everyone at infinity ward was fired after and before mw2.

They don't care about making a good game, they just care about doing things to make their game more "newsworthy" and simply for the monetary game. It's like that airport level all over again.

Now, the multiplayer. It's stiff and rigid. Barriers everywhere. Tiny maps. And they still don't do things that games like Quake 3 have been doing for at least a decade. No dedicated servers? No ability to play custom user made maps? No user made content AT ALL. No custom made user modes. Hell, Halo 3 let's you do that. There's no innovation what-so-ever. Same guns. Same sounds. Same run 'n gun fluff BS. The netcode is awful. How many times have I died while shooting at an enemy only to look at the killcam and watch myself not even turn towards the enemy. Or what's with dying and having all of your bullets that were in transit disappear? You can never shoot your enemy and kill him at the same time he kills you.

What happened to the days where you could could filter a server list by types of maps or types of game modes? Yeah, like a dedicated server that runs a roulette of a certain type of game mode. Or even map voting or game mode voting. There's nothing. The only thing MW ever had going for it was it's invention of the online FPS RPG system and what do they do? They drag it out. They don't even build on what they've built before. How about instead of prestige-ing, only to do the same things OVER AND OVER again, you invent something NEW? How about new and interesting maps that aren't just random sandscapes with military vehicles or boxes strewn about? How about stop taking advantage of your customers and create a god damn game instead of this copy and paste job that is MW3. How about that.

The gameplay has been stagnant for these 4 years as well. Ok so what is going on, usually it;s the critics that are really harsh and the users that aren't.

Anyways, I think that they have done it again. Without a doubt this game is an all round improvement on the previous titles which we all thought couldn't get better. The single player takes off straight from MW2 and had me glued to my seat until I had finished it. The story line is like that of a movie that keep you interested to the point where you say to yourself: 'I'll just play this next little bit so I know what happens', which is what I want in a game. The multiplayer is yet again a giant leap. It combines all the stuff we loved from the previous titles and improves in every single way. From the simple things like being able to connect with your friends over facebook (simple but brilliant), to the new way in which the kill streaks work allowing you to select assault or support depending on your gaming style, to the new game modes available.

The game mode that stands out the most to me is without a doubt kill confirmed. I find myself thrown in to a game with complete strangers who I have never gamed with before but who all work as a team. Now to me that is what makes these games successful, the ability to make people work as a team. Of course all of the other game modes are still there so you can play your classic favorites but give the new ones a go, you might be surprised.

The kill streak system now makes the game a lot more accessible to players, meaning that not only the elite, 30 kills no deaths players, get to use all of the toys that undoubtedly increase there kill to death ratio even more. Now you can choose assault, where your kills reset when you die and the rewards are used for assaulting the enemy, or support, where your kills do not reset when you die and the rewards are used to support your team. My friends who are not as good as some of the players on COD find this great as they don't have their hard earned kills removed from them when they die.

Overall I think this is a great game and it baffles me as to why it has got such low reviews when you consider the amount of people who have bought the game already and the amount of people playing the game who keep saying that it is brilliant.

I think people who are expecting a brilliant single player will be more than pleased with MW3 but those expecting a long single player game will be a little let down but you have to take into consideration previous games, and I mean all previous games. I have played near enough every first person shooter imaginable and what you tend to get is a brilliant and long single player experience with a pretty shoddy multiplayer experience, or a rubbish and short single player experience with an amazing multiplayer experience. Now I think it's safe to say that MW3 has a pretty healthy balance of the two which is rare in first person shooter games.

For those who are not into your multiplayer gaming online and just buying this for the single player: you are missing out and quite frankly foolish.

Cheers to the development team that worked on this I think you have done a fantastic job.

The campaign (even though a bit short) was very good, it follows on perfectly from previous stories and allows the player to get very involved with the plot itself. The only criticism I would have is the length as it only takes an average of 5 hours to complete, at least another 3 hours would of been welcomed or DLC for further missions. The online play again is very good, sticking to the same format the maps are fairly small but the introduction of the new strike packages are welcomed as if you are not very good you can still rack up kills and proceed to get kill streaks.

The only criticisms I have as stated before was the length fo the campaign, other then that this is a brilliant game and you get what you expect from the Call of Duty series.

Now, to my review: This game is a significant improvement on the previous two, with the story of Soap, Price and the others wrapped up in a way that left me feeling hollow and sad in the way the characters had ended up. With most of the characters we love from previous games had died by now, a comment is made by IW on the cost of war. People who are nothing less than heroes have died tragic deaths. Amazing campaign in my view, delivering a true story in a way that only shooters in the CoD series have ever done. Because this game will inevitably be compared to Battlefield 3, i have to say I was completely unimpressed by the beta and cancelled my preorder. By all accounts, the campaign is, typical of Battlefield games, a fallacy, and to me and many others this is completely unacceptable. A better campaign mode can be found on the iPhone in the form of cheap Call of Duty knock-off games (chief among which being the Modern Combat series). The multiplayer conflict between games is a personal choice in my opinion, with players more inclined to go for tense focused firefights at home in MW3, while those who like huge blown-out battles with 64 players much more likely to enjoy BF3. In my opinion DICE have not created as wholesome a product as Activision's handful of studios, with the multiplayer being the only redeemable facet of the game. Spec Ops makes a return in MW3, with 16 missions which are all challenging and fun. I personally hoped for a few more missions, but the new Survival gametype adding a new layer of challenge and fun to the game. With MW3, three fleshed out and polished modes are available to the user, with each living up to the hype of previous games. While this game isn't quite a 10 in my view, I have rated it thus to counter the massive amounts of fanboys attacking the metacritic user score of this game. I am livid at the aggression of both EA and BF3 fans in attacking this game and using dirty tactics to try and deplete fans fof the CoD series. What shocks me most is the inability of these groups to be honourable about the whole thing and let the two games battle it out based on their quality alone. Activision has kept quiet about the whole thing and put a great investment into their game, whereas EA has used tactics bordering on corporate espionage to dishonestly degrade their competition. Thankfully, they have failed. For the above reasons, I rate this game 10/10 Expand

Still the best first person shooter multiplayer on the market. Still one of the worst campaign modes of any game. If you liked the other games in the Call of Duty series, you'll like MW3. In my opinion the maps are getting a bit repetitive. It feels like they're taking bits and pieces from older maps and combining them. It's fun, but it's not as innovative as the previous chapters.

A solid first person shooter, feels slightly outdated but is good fun online with a few friends. The price tag is debatable however as it doesn't seem much of an improvement on Modern Warfare 2.

Incredible multiplayer maps (eliminates camping to a vast extent!!!), awesome new killstreak/pointstreak system rewarding the objective player. Shotguns do suck and snipers are annoying to play against as they were in mw2. Solid singleplayer with an interesting campaign.

Incredible......beautiful, the best Call of Duty yet, one of the years greatest games. I wasn't just impressed with MW3, I was BLOWN away! The multiplayer and Spec Ops are just as good as they ever were, if not, better. But what's really truly amazing and best about MW3 in my opinion is it's single player campaign experience. The cinematic moments were awe inspiring, unforgettable. My jaw literally dropped when I saw the Pairs Tower fall, and everything else. The scale of MW3 is just so much larger then any other Call of Duty game yet, and it's so beautiful. Now I'm not one of those super huge COD fan boys that thinks COD is better then anything else and everything else sucks. I've always liked the Call of Duty games, but I've never been obsessed over the series. I was already excited enough for MW3, with it being all about World War 3 and continuing a story line that I was already very in too. So like I said, my expectations were blown away! Although MW3 may have nothing new to offer when it comes to gameplay, that is no reason not to love this game and everything else it has to offer. Those who are just in it for the multiplayer are coming in short handed and not even experiencing half of what MW3 really has to offer and the amazement that comes with it.

Hands down, MW3 is more then worth buying. It's a game the other game designers should really envy. The only reason the ratings are so low for most of the gamers here, is because they only play the multiplayer and are not getting MW3's full experience. (Not that the multiplayer is something anyone should be disappointed about.) Either that or the Battlefield 3 lovers. Or the COD haters all around. **** you guys. You don't know a good game when you see one. Trust me, play that campaign with it's incredible story, cinematic beauty, and overly entertaining missions, and you'll call MW3 one of the greatest games ever made, I grantee it.

Then I played the BF3 beta and found myself struggling to get into it. So when BF3 hit, I decided to rent it instead of buy it outright. I beat the campaign, it was decent. But again, I struggled to get into the multiplayer. It was well crafted, but just didn't gel with me. So I canceled my BF3 order and ordered COD MW3. And despite my earlier feelings of wanting something different, I found myself in love with the series all over again. The campaign is possibly my favorite so far. The multiplayer, while familiar, adds enough to make it feel exciting again (I especially love Kill Confirmed mode and the way points help unlock support packages...)! I've not spent much time with Spec Ops or Survival yet... but that just speaks to the wealth of content available in this title. There was much doubt that the "new" Infinity Ward could bring the quality that the founders were known for once they departed Activision. But the truth is, I find Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 to be a better game all around than Infinity Ward's last game, Modern Warfare 2. And since World at War and Black Ops turned out solid (in my book), between the new Infinity Ward and Treyarch, this franchise is in good hands. Yes, one could still argue that this series hasn't taken many risks this generation... but at the same time, they must be doing something right. I'm not the only one who keeps coming back for more, and having a great time in the process. Expand

COD MW3 has to be looked at as a few incremental upgrades and changes in MP and a continuation in the SP. Those looking for a different type of gameplay have to ask your self if Your a game company knowing if you stay with same formula you still will sell 9 million copies why would you change anything?

Multiplayer maps are fun, but here there are some noticeable flaws. Shotguns are underpowered with many requiring two shots for a kill and with slow reload, you are the one being killed. M16 is sadly underpowered and nearly useless. The worst of all is all the hackers and modders in the community. If you like COD, pick it up! Expand

MWF3 has a great cinematic story which is gripping, but the multi-player is a nest of adolescent children, racist immature thugs, and campers galore. But the gameplay is the real issue as it just isn't balanced, it's like Unreal Tournament but with different weapons. Everything is far too quick, yet lacks the polish and precision of games like GOW and BF. Spec ops is interesting for a while, but again gets boring quickly. Overall I think COD should stop the yearly releases to improve and redesign the formula, however they simply games for profit not entertainment. Ultimately, Modern Warfare 3 feels similar to it's brethren, but that doesn't mean it isn't a great game. The single player element is still exciting, and multiplayer has more options than ever – if you're a fan of Call of Duty, Modern Warfare 3 is a no brainer.

Modern Warfare 3, while still an excellent thrill ride in its own right, feels far too similar to MW2 or even Black Ops for my taste.
  3. I never expected Modern Warfare 3 to go toe-to-toe with EA's juggernaut this year, but it came out of the gates with a tour de force campaign and co-op mode. It loses points with a perhaps too-familiar multiplayer that caters to the juvenile on Xbox Live; though don't be mistaken, Modern Warfare 3 is one hell of a shooter and a highlight for a series that just won't die – no matter how much we wish it bloody would, at times.
