Ive owned the last 4 COD's and was hesitant to purchase this one with the mixed reviews. Overall I don't think its worth the money as is feels like a extra map pack add-on to MW2. Yes there are a few changes but the short-cuts taken are obvious. Overall it is still a very fun game to play on multilayer and im sure ill still be playing it a year from now just like black ops and MW2.

Obviously Critics are getting paid to rate this game....

There is no way this "Map pack for mw2" is deserving of its critic rating. Every person I know has either returned the game or is already playing Black Ops again.
    Glad Skyrim comes out today.....

    Hate,
    Mr. Merkintosh.

This is another great addition to the franchise. As always, it is about the multiplayer and the tweaks to their winning formula are right on the money this time.

A great FPS game when playing with friends story is concluded well and online is addicting!
people that are giving this a low rating are just being sheep following everybody else and probably not even given the game a chance

But BattleFAILED's new Engine -Frostbite 2- made it a bad Graphically game? Robert Bowling said this "We have no time to create a new engine to fit the game.. so we have to work on the previous one" We will be insane people if we compared MW3's -or any Modern Warfare's"- campaign to BF3 -or any BF-... Self-evident MW win.. but we can stil compare the "Graphics" which make Battlefailed 3 "a good" game. We can compare their Multiplaye Mod as well.. they both have excellent multiplayer.. BUT.. there's no Spec OPS in BF3.. so Battlefailed "3" beats MW3 because of the Graphics.. That's **** !!!! **** strongly Recommends this game to any creature in the whole wide world to play this game. Expand

ok im going be honest with this review when i first saw mw3 i didnt know what to think i thought it was going to be a disapointment but i decide to preorder in the last couple of days. through the first play through i noticed that everyone was right it does feel like past call of duty games. however youve got to ask yourself is that a bad thing? as a person who has been playing call ofok im going be honest with this review when i first saw mw3 i didnt know what to think i thought it was going to be a disapointment but i decide to preorder in the last couple of days. through the first play through i noticed that everyone was right it does feel like past call of duty games. however youve got to ask yourself is that a bad thing? as a person who has been playing call of duty since cod4 i honestly enjoyed this game. although it is more of the same, the amusment is still there. all the great things that me so happy in modern warfare 2 are back and im relived. i will cover the basics. lets start with online, this is by far the best feature of the game and where i spent most of my time. the deeply specific class set ups are really intresting and super fun to mess around with. the story although was not that strong it was still a fun play through. as for the spec opps its something nice as a add on but defenetly not a deal maker or breaker. next up for all the people whining saying that call of duty has been runinng with the same engine thats not really a bad thing. the graphics have greatly changed for the better and if you cant see that you should even call yourself a gamer. further on i understand all the bull **** that goes on in this game but when i yell at my tv ive come to realize that its not that the game is being unfair so i died its the fact that im so cought up in the action that i want to win and when i die i get mad. is that a bad thing? isnt a game suppose to have that emotional tie? its not the games fault if your really into it and you die thats actually a good thing. so for all you haters stop going with the crowd and saying that this is the same ****y game thats just being ignorant on your part and your also missing out on a great game. also just for the record im not a 12 year old kid that only plays call of duty im a 17 year old hardcore gamer that enjoys other games such as fifa 12, battlefield 3, skyrim, batman arkahm city, all past cod games, all fable games and etc. i thank you for reading this because someone had to be honest and if you take anything away for this please know that just cause something is the same dosent mean its not fun. you as a person are living something that millions of people have done before that dosent mean your irrelevent or repetetive or even bad it just means your just living to have fun despite what other people say. isnt that what call of duty is doing?? let mw3 live. hats of to all the people that made this game youve givin me alot of enjoyment Expand

First I would like to point out that in no way is this game innovative, but to call this game mw 2.5 or 1.3 is a rash, bold, and incorrect statement. Anyway, i digress to my actual review of this game. I will be breaking this down into the three categories Infinity Ward has given us, as well as certain criteria people expect from a review such as graphics, game play, etc.

The first portion every person should go through (or at least the one I always start with in every new cod title) is the single player campaign. This campaign is fantastic in every sense, though a bit short. But this complaint is a small one considering I blasted through the main story line in about 4.5 hours on regular difficulty. But its length really isn't a flaw if you consider that a game that looks for the biggest adrenaline fill it can possibly dish out, while at the same time trying to not be numbing to the player. This campaign finally wraps up the storyline in a very meaningful and conclusive way and its a blast getting there.

Then comes the return of spec ops, which I enjoy substantially more than Nazi zombies (sorry zombies have become been there done that in our culture, only thing i enjoy with zombies anymore is the walking dead). Anyway I can't wait to be able to play with mode properly with a friend instead of getting paired with some moron online. In addition, a second game type has been added to spec ops which is called survivor. Survivor is more or less the COD take on horde mode from the gears of war series, and it works really well here, though admittedly I do find myself getting bored after one of two rounds.

And finally the monster that is the cod multiplayer. People who hate on it will continue to hate and people that love the fast paced gun on gun arcade style shooter will continue to love it. There is nothing innovative from the (and I don't know why people forget this) original innovation, but it still works great and now with no commando or one man army nube tubes, the multiplayer brings cod into a new world of people complain but not all about the same thing. I will be the first to admit that there are some guns that are slightly overpowered, such as the type 95 or the much hated ump45, but I'm not nearly as annoyed with these weapons as I was with certain weapons from previous cod titles. Overall, I'm having a blast with the multiplayer and anyone who isn't, probably sucks at it (I'm a firm believer that anyone who **** about cod should be forced to post their k/d ratio, so at least we know why).

To wrap things up I'll briefly go over the specs of the game. Are the graphics innovative? No. But they looked damn good, nearly photo-realism, 5 years ago and they still do. Any game that can run at 60 frames per second while having so much crap going on in the background and look this good ON A SIX YEAR OLD CONSOLE, is doing something right in my book. The controls are as tight and responsive as one should expect from a cod game, thatâ

let's talk about story ! it's not like HALO ! so you'll not face a large amount of informations in 2 hours and say Wow it's epic !
it's not like BF3 that put you in the story that you've seen it 1000 time before !
it's Modern Warfare so you'll see real places , real people , real politics and of course real characters ! the plot is the same as Modern Warfare 1 and 2 but the difference is Revelations and characters endings .
let's talk about gameplay ! just like MW1 & MW2 gameplay is where this game beat its rival . fast action gameplay that increase adrenaline alongside with cinematic scenes will satisfy you of spending 60 $ for this game !
sounds and musics are brilliant and i can't say anything bad about them !
graphics are good enough for a 2011 released game and have many improvements from Modern Warfare 2 and 60fps is where this game is beat its rival in graphics (on consoles) .
multiplayer is the best in series so you can finish the story mode in 5 hours and go for multiplayer ! but you have my word , you can't finish multiplayer even in 500 hours ! it's Call Of Duty ! there is no need to say every part is at it's best like maps , perks , modes , weapon customize ...
at last i can say there are many games out there but there are a few perfect games so don't spend 60 $ for the first game you'll see in the markets !
Modern Warfare 3 is the best FPS in 2011 , no doubt . but i think it's the best FPS ever !

The single player campaign was excellent, with several exciting moments and a great amount of detail that easily outdid Black Ops' somewhat lackluster campaign. You can tell that they put a lot of work into making the environment as alive and realistic as possible. Multiplayer also received several welcome upgrades. The best parts from MW2 and Black Ops were kept, while it was clear that they made a point of balancing the game and removing other overpowered or stupid pieces (nukes). Spec Ops, a favorite of MW2, returns, bringing with it enjoyable missions and different perspectives from campaign missions. Along with that, the new Survival mode is one of the most fun additions to the game, and is both challenging and fun to play through. Overall, the best parts of the last few games were kept, and the new additions and detail make this an excellent title. Yes, it will feel a bit like MW2. But I say that in a good sense. MW3 delivers CoD fans what they want. It's a great example of how a vocal minority (irritated BF3 fans, lol) try to bash a great game. Also important: the number of people who are irritated about its similarity to MW2 is minuscule compare to the number of fans who would be pissed if the game was redone to something else entirely. If you're a fan of the series, or someone looking to try it out for the first time, you won't be disappointed. Expand

Modern warfare 3 is the follow up one would expect to the tremendously successful modern warfare renditions of call of duty, which have truly taken on a life of their own. I'm compelled to write a review, having played through the game entire, and put in hours on multiplayer as well, in response to the incredibly ridiculous zeros and ones given the game by thousands of people. a zero or a one could and should only go to a game so bad and broken so as to be unplayable, and modern warfare 3 is none of these things. the campaign is relatively brief at about 5 hours, but the story is good closure to the first 2 modern warfare games, and the action set pieces are quite spectacular. spec ops is a great nugget based form of co op, and the multiplayer is similar to previous modern warfare games but a highly refined form of them with much improved killstreak reward setups. Is there a certain amount of familiarity within the game to previous cod? well of course. Should this be a surprise? Every sequel to every highly successful game I have played sticks very close to the winning formula that made it a success in the first place. and this is true not only in the world of interactive entertainment, but movies as well. and yet you don't find the kind of hostility toward gears of war, god of war, grand theft auto, halo, etc etc that you find against the cod games. Most likely this has to do with the shameless yearly franchising of the series, only a step above the saturation activision gave the world with the guitar hero debacle. But from a business standpoint, who could blame activision for wanting to make a billion dollars every year? In closure, if you have played one of the previous modern warfare games, don't expect this one to reinvent the wheel. However, if you enjoy fun, balanced multiplayer action, and like first person shooters, there is really no reason you won't enjoy this game. Expand

The Missions are longer than MW2 and this time around can be played with anyone online, Not just friends.
You cant review a Call of Duty game without escaping the Quickscoping and Camp fest that is Multiplayer.
Straight away you can tell it has had more love and attention than Single player and Spec Ops but has it payed off....
No it hasn't to be honest. A lot of the guns seem under powered and those EVIL Quickscopers are still there with their stupid ways of getting easy kills. My biggest gripe with MW3 MP is the game modes like One in a Chamber, Gun Game and Infection are for PRIVATE MATCH ONLY. Which is a shame because if Black Ops had one thing over MW2 (Apart from Zombies) was the different types of game modes available to play with people all over the world.
Sure the engine feels outdated and Elite is Broke. But if you want to know how WW3 ends you need this game.....

Most expansion packs have new guns and maps, and this is all the game feels like aside from it's singleplayer aspect. Then again, you will have the fanboys raving over every title that has "Call of Duty" in the name - when it's been the same thing for the past 4 years. The Singleplayer follows the cliché "AMERICA #1" scenario, letting you take control of soldiers worldwide - helping the United States as usual. The game will then and there throw in a few scripted events for destruction, replacing the need for real-time destruction and physics. Because that's so cool, right?

Overall, this would be decent if it wasn't the exact same thing as MW2. It follows the same dragged on cliché plotline of the Modern Warfare series that 12 year olds world wide have grown to love.

When it comes to the multiplayer I was shocked by how poor it was, all ive heard from activision and sledgehammer games is how balanced the game has been made and all the various other refinements that have been and to be honest they have been talking crap. The multiplayer is exactly the same as MW2 and Blackops just with a different coat of paint. It favours the lone wolf and the lone wolf only its a waste of time having team games should just have free for all. The graphics are all the same and there isnt a hint of them trying to improve them and you still end up lagging like a crack head in a coma. What i cant understand is the lack of innovation with this game, a game that earn them hundreds of millions A YEAR and they cant seem to invest a tiny amount of this in improving it. Overall its just another game rushed onto the shelves for the sake of making a bit of money. I cant wait for next November to see what crap treyarch have been working on Expand

Its filler for a Friday night when I am tired of listening to Emo 15 year olds ramble & whine through my ear phones as I plaster with my SCAR. Multiplayer is solid, I have enjoyed the new maps, especially enjoy playing Kill Confirmed. I am very disappointed with the ELITE. I went Premium, I am paying for a service, I expect to get what I paid for. Activision needs to prioritize paying members like me over free accounts. In the end, taxed servers, 350 people in line in the cold at midnite, and 6.5 million copies of a game does not = ratings less then 5 or above... MW3 is the game that is going to finance the next evolution of the game that will blow your mind on the XBOX 720. But thats cool, dont buy the next one. I will be happy to be number one in line, and walk out of the store at 12:05 with my copy. So I rate the game as follows: Campaign Mode 5 , Multi Player 8, Spec Ops 6, Maps 9, Overall I give the Game a 7. Hopefully the ELITE mode will allow me to connect with some "adults". Expand

I know Black Ops was a little slow in the beginning and it sped up over a couple months, but the alternation between multiplayer developers shows that they are unwilling to share their experiences with each other to help the franchise evolve. The maps don't vary in size at all like Black Ops did and they seem a bit small. The spawning points in the multiplayer are erratic and I usually end up dying within two seconds of respawning once or twice a match. The map size also contributes to dying immediately after a kill because of how close the next enemy is. I have never played a Battlefield game before, but I might since MW3 has seemed to be a bust. The reason for a mediocre score is because the game has potential and can be updated to fix all of the flaws, but it will take a miracle to turn this game into a 10/10. Oh man...modern warfare 2 does not offer this. It only gives you kill rushes. Thats it. And im sure mw3 does the same. I...cannot accept this over the massive stimulation I get from battlefield 3. I get less kills, but The overall experience is better.

I only played this game for 2 days, but I can agree fully with some people here. MW3 would be more of an add-on than a full game. There are no innovations in terms of gameplay, the layout resembles Black Ops and one cannot play well the game in a calm and tactical way. I've enjoyed Call of Duty since I first played COD2 on the 360 all those years ago. For me personally, after COD4, the series has gone downhill for me - a lack of new innovative features and tiring gameplay meant I had very little expectations for MW3.

The game itself is a mixed bag - if you're a massive COD fan, you've already made your mind up or already have this game. If you're not a COD fan, this won't change your mind about it. MW3 does very little different when compared to previous versions (a couple of new multiplayer modes and "revamped" killstreaks aren't enough) but I suppose it doesn't need to based on the popularity of the series, especially with the casual gaming crowd. However, the single player campaign is definitely one of the strongest in recent years, probably since the original MW. It has plenty going on, massive set pieces and a solid enough story with a couple of twists. There's very little downtime in the campaign, giving it a very exhilarating feel. It's as polished as ever and has the production values of a big summer blockbuster. For those who care, it easily trumps BF3's campaign.

Multiplayer was the big disappointment for me, and the reason I'm trading it in. There's nothing new introduced into multiplayer, aside from previously mentioned killstreaks and modes. And for me personally, I find the maps to be quite poor, no real memorable ones that stick in the mind. If you love COD multiplayer, then there's no doubt this is more of the same goodness. If you're not, or if you're tiring of it (as I am) then it isn't going to help you change your mind regarding it.

Overall, it's a solid game but fails to add anything new to it, which is a major downside. Plenty of user reviews have slated it for this, giving it 0 out of 10 etc, which to be honest I think is harsh. It's not the masterpiece that so many publications have described it as but at the same time, it's definitely not the abomination that so many users believe it to be.

Is this the same MW as always? Yep. Is it bad? Not by a long shot. I agree that not much has changed in the way of mechanics, or with the multiplayer leveling system itself. But if it's not broke, don't fix it! If they had changed the mechanics completely, everyone would have cried foul anyway! We are a society of complainers who wants everything perfect, but if you take that emotion out of it and see it for what it is, it's still a dang good game. The campaign had moments that make you sit with your mouth hanging open and didn't realize it until that moment was over. The story, same as always, is a bit forgettable, as is with ALL war games. Shoot this, blow up that, you forget why after a while. But what's important is, after a while, who cares? It looks so cool to blow stuff up! And MW3 does that beautifully. So to sum it up, this is a good game. Not perfect, but really good. And here is something shocking for you to think about...what if we could like BOTH MW3 and Battlefield?! I guess the problem that I have with Call of Duty MW3 is that the developers had a chance to create a truly great game. I mean all they had to do was build on an already great foundation with Call of Duty 4 and Call of Duty MW2. But instead they chose to play it safe and only tweak a few things here and there, which in the end amounted to a hole lot of nothing. I've said you can tell that someone else made this game and that's 100% true. I doubt Activation will say that Vince Zampella and Jason West (the creators of the franchise) played that big of a part in the success of the Call of Duty but when you fire them and 40 other employees quit because of that. Out of a studio that had around 50 employees in it to begin with, that doesn't leave a lot of people left that helped create the great Call of Duty's of past. Then Activation thought that after rebuilding Infinity Ward and adding the a brand new studio in which they just created called Sledgehammer games, to finish what the original Infinity Ward started would be ok. No it wasn't and shame on them for thinking it was. Now I don't hate COD MW3 but its defiantly not my first choice when it comes to game that I own. Expand

With the new Survival mode you are pit against some incredible competition to overcome. Multiplayer is the bread and butter of the franchise and yet again goes straight to the top of FPS gaming. Improving in ways I would not have imagined and adding the exclusive Elite stats tracking and improvement hub has made this my "Go To" experience for all FPS playable games for some time to come. Whether you are a weekend warrior or game each and every night. you will have hours on end of excitement with this latest iteration of Call of Duty. Personally I would give the game 6 stars out of 5 if I were able. Thank you Activision, Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer, and all of the rest of you who brought us such a terrific game.

A map pack? I think not. while sure enough the game looks the same, why does this bother people? FIFA and NHL look the same every year. Get over it and enjoy the game. As for on-line stability, there are a couple of OP guns (Type 95 mainly) but nothing to put people off. If you are a fan of the series, DEFINITELY buy this. If not, go back to your games and leave us alone. Also, I am not a "fan-boy", I also own BF3 and would definitely say it is equal to this in its own fashion, but simply isn't as fun. Expand

Overall I can't help but feel that this game should have been held off for a year giving the people developing this game more time to improve and innovate the game and breath new life in to the modern warfare franchise and ment that you don't feel your playing the same old game with just a different story. The issues with MW3 come in multiplayer. It's laggy and, as you can see from other reviews, it is so so so much like MW2. Very little has changed. Some perks have been replaced but the replacements are the same thing in the end. The maps are ridiculously like the MW2 maps. In fact you will have no problem recognizing every map and where it comes from in MW2. Titles, emblems, etc just aren't exciting anymore.

Is this game worth the money? You 'll probably be more entertained by other titles this year (Skyrim, for example) and you'll probably play BattleField 3 a little longer (but that game is frustrating in its own ways as well). But my major problem for singleplayer is well how now everything is an explosion and there are no quiet bits where you can reflect on whats happened. So the explosions feels very numbed and when a certain huge explosion happens you dont care.

IW may have just gone by with this game, but if they dont change gameplay or the engine soon, more complaints and loss of fan base will occur. I like the game, personally, but what I don't get is why everyone gives it low scores.you're supposed to rate a game based on what you like, not what you hate, and only the most buggy and incomplete games deserve anything close to a zero rating. Yes, there isn't innovation, but if the system works then there shouldn't be. The saying that if it ain't broke don't fix it applies here.

The "point streaks" in the game really do seem pointless as well seeing as for some of the best rewards in the game like "juggernaut" require 18 points in total as long as you stick with the same class. When you are playing a game like "HQ" who isn't going to get 18 points in one game? This means that you have about 6 people running around in juggernaut suits which defeats the object of a reward if it is so easy to get. One thing I can't bad mouth about this game is the campaign as I found it enjoyable even on the "Veteran" difficulty but I thought the special ops missions were very boring and tedious.
If you are a 14 year old boy who likes to join clans etc.. then this game is perfect for you but if you are a little older and just enjoy a quality game then I doubt you will like this game.
Just don't be put off by all of these people giving it a "0" review because they are just abusing the system.

First off, would everyone please stop comparing Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3. From a multiplayer standpoint, they are completely different. The only thing they have in common is the fact that they are both military shooters. BF3 provides huge maps and more tactical, methodical gameplay. BF3 provides huge maps and more tactical, methodical gameplay. MW3 is a run-and-gun, encounter-heavy shooter, with a smaller strategic empasis. You can like both games people. I do. I simply like them for different reasons. Now for my actual review. Obviously, MW3 is largely a rehash of MW2. Graphically, it is NOT an improvement. The fundamental gameplay is identical. The mission selection, however, is more varied than MW2, which was a welcome surprise. The campaign is still too short. But that is from the perspective of someone who values the campaign just as much as the multiplayer. Most players buy the game for the multiplayer, and view the campaign as a bonus. In that sense, a 6 hour campaign is respectable. The story is still generic. It's more over-the-top action. Many people complain about this, but the fact is that most video games appeal to our sense of wanting to live out a fantasy vicariously from our couch. The campaign is no different from any other game in that respect. But the biggest reason I can give a 9 out of 10 to this 3rd installment in the seemingly stale CoD franchise and still look at myself in the mirror is a factor that I think most "professional" reviewers overlook. I call this the Fun Factor. At the end of the day, MW3 is still a lot of fun to play. The reason that you don't see innovation on a grand scale is because such innovation is NOT NECESSARY. Just look at the sales figures and tell me if you would change the CoD formula if you were Infinity Ward or Activision. No you would not. And no, not only 12 year-olds buy this game. I am a 27 year-old history teacher with a beautiful wife and daughter, and I bought the game and enjoy it for what it is. If you are a BF3 player who is a MW3 hater or vice versa, please remember that these are both amazing games with DIFFERENT things to offer. You should enjoy the fact that so many developers turn out such beautiful products regularly. This competition is what drives these developers to give us such great games. So enjoy it! Expand

If you don't put in the effort to do anything but repackage the previous game (or in this case the previous 3 or 4 games) then you get a zero for effort. This is a 45-60$ map pack.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I have been a fan of call of duty since the release of call of duty 2, excluding the games I didn't play up to CoD4 MW. Each game brought in new perks, skills, guns, and graphics and a decent story line. To review MW3 I took a look at the campaign, graphics, and multiplayer experience. Sound would be included, but it is minimally as important as the three stated. Campaign: It comes right off from the ending point of last game with person X being injured etc. The elements are believable in the fact that it there was an EMP blast from a nuke, however the graphic scene was not needed nor added to the game other than a shock and awe aspect. It is more believable that a country would use an EMP blasts than bio weapons to invade a nation or nations. Granted they provided a story that they didn't have the necessary items to achieve the best option, but the Russian military wasn't commanded by the main antagonist so why would they invade under his orders after a bio-weapon attack on multiple countries? Further into the story it is mostly the same types of questions and excitement of fast paced shooting so the final score for campaign came to a 7.
Graphics: This is pretty easy, I put in MW2 and looked at MW3 and noticed very little difference in graphic quality other than lighting and sharper images which I feel can be achieved with an update considering it uses the same engine, the lack of innovation or development brings the score to a failing grade, but still enough that it portrays the graphics are better than many games out there, 5.
Multiplayer experience: This is hard to say as there are many different modes that people can play, I personally played Kill-confirmed, TDM, and SnD as well as Hardcore variants. The maps I felt after reaching level 36 as of now were semi confusing and slightly one sided if a team was smart enough to camp a specific area (Being smart isn't grounds for saying the map sucks I know). However the maps had many corners which made it difficult to center yourself as well as a central area that is common in the maps as the hot zone. The guns that were introduced in the game were fine and all, however it still felt weird to me that many of the guns had different iron sights, but in general felt relatively the same as MW2 guns. I know I may be reaching with this, but the Type 95 I believe is one of the most overpowered guns I have seen in a long time, I would put it at the equivalent of 1887's in MW2 before they were nerfed. I know this may be fixed over time with patches but currently for the game to have 1 man get shot by two different people which includes myself with a Scar-H and have this guy kill both of us in different directions with 1 burst is ridiculous. I might as well just run around with a sniper rifle, drop shot you while quick scoping. This brings me to sniping. I have only found maybe 2-3 maps where sniping has its uses across a large span of space, so the maps don't really help out when you have a billion corners and you're trying to snipe. Many say l2p and quickscope...well sure it's in the game they brought it back as well as drop shots. I don't mind either, but I feel like they brought back quick scoping because well you need it for those tight corners or else you're useless as a sniper. Personally I like just looking through a scope, some others may not so that's their preference, but make a map where sniping really does take place instead of quick scopes as the only option for players to have a decent score in close quarter battles. I'll reiterate I don't care that other players use quick scope or drop shot, it can be frustrating but hey they learned something I didn't so they have that advantage over me which is a legitimate thing to have. It's not like they hacked the game to do it, I have as much ability and choice to learn how to as they do so props to people of quick scope and aren't dicks about it. Perks, well those change all the time, no biggie just no more of running around the map like a ninja. Kill streaks and support streaks....Oh man I like the new kill-streak ability where if you keep killing it just restarts, but support streaks really? So if I just don't have any skill over my opponents I can die 25 times and get 8 kills and I'll still be able to call in an EMP? (I really don't remember what you need for an EMP I don't use it so don't be mad). I remember that kill-streaks were supposed to reward you for your skill and not for trying. I understand that you want the game to be accessible for a lot of people, but there has to be a line drawn. You don't deserve a streak unless you get 3 kills minimum, because at least you provide for the team instead of a situation where a guy gets kills because he just happened by when a guy reloaded and has a KDR of .16. so Multiplayer you get a fat 6, get rid of support streaks.

First off, let me say that this is my first review. I generally don't play games for the multiplayer, and MW3 was no exception. I played the multiplayer, went 'meh' and moved on. I loved the campaign though, and thought it was very fun. The graphics are old, but still hold up IMO. Because, after all, that's what a user review is. An opinion. rantrantrant. Ultimately, Modern Warfare 3 feels similar to it's brethren, but that doesn't mean it isn't a great game. The single player element is still exciting, and multiplayer has more options than ever – if you're a fan of Call of Duty, Modern Warfare 3 is a no brainer.

Modern Warfare 3, while still an excellent thrill ride in its own right, feels far too similar to MW2 or even Black Ops for my taste.
  3. I never expected Modern Warfare 3 to go toe-to-toe with EA's juggernaut this year, but it came out of the gates with a tour de force campaign and co-op mode. It loses points with a perhaps too-familiar multiplayer that caters to the juvenile on Xbox Live; though don't be mistaken, Modern Warfare 3 is one hell of a shooter and a highlight for a series that just won't die – no matter how much we wish it bloody would, at times.
