    Nothing if have ever played or done has brought me to this many tears, but the fact that this game got such a good score while games like counterstrike:source, a game that is not only way better then this game but uses it as a stick to scrape **** off its magnificent shoes.     A soulless cash-in, Modern Warfare 3 represents everything that is wrong with modern gaming. I have no doubt that it will be showered with 9+ scores, but in reality this is merely a phoned-in recycle of a 4 year old game.

    Modern Warfare 2 repackaged as another $60 game.
    For the past 3 installments Call of Duty has been the biggest rip-off of the gaming universe, re-using textures, animations and even sounds. These games are nowhere near the $60 price they're advertised for. I hope to see this franchise halt at a dead stop as it's just stagnating.
    I sincerely hope Activision would go bankrupt for being a    Modern Warfare 2 repackaged as another $60 game.

    What an absolute mess. At this point, Call of Duty has become another by the numbers, copy and paste shooter franchise. I bought this game expecting something enjoyable and fun. What I got was yet another mindless corridor shooter that plays the game for me. The multiplayer is an absolute abomination as well. It's amazing to me that in the time since Call of Duty 4 has released the seriesWhat an absolute mess. At this point, Call of Duty has become another by the numbers, copy and paste shooter franchise.     It's a 60 dollar skin of MW2, what more is there to say? There's no innovation here. With all the money they have been raking in, they're doing nothing but releasing map packs while other developers are creating whole new games.

    Repacking the same game for the third time in a row. The SP is anemic, MP identical and the DLC gouging of customers remains the same. MW3 should have been sold as 15$ expansion to MW2. There is simply no excuse for the consistent lack of creativity and shady business practices revolving around this series.

The storyline is generic and predictable so I subtracted points for that. The box art is plain and ugly so I subtracted points for that. I wanted to give it one point for having awesome graphics, but then I remembered 90% of the buildings and textures are recycled from previous games so there is nothing original there and I ended up subtracting points for that.

    Why are they chargin £50 for this? The same rehashed crap that was released years ago. £50 for a terrible map pack, not to worry they will release some more packs in a few weeks costs £15.

    Can't tell you how upset I was with this game. With games like Skyrim and Arkham City adding new stories, innovation and something new. COD sticks to the same overused formula. I've already traded it in.

    Someone said it earlier that this is a map pack for MW2. That person was dead on absolutely nothing new except maps and a few new killstreak rewards. This game is definitely not worth $60 anymore its officially classified as a bargain bin game in my books.

Single player campaign is lacking when it could have been so much more and multiplayer is is the same as its always been. Except now everyone on the planet starts from zero. Honestly you could have done a mass reset on MW2 and it would be exactly the same.

There are a lot of glitches also, of course the game was just released but these are simple, easy glitches that should have been noticed instantly during the beta tests. The maps are all recycled with the same looks as earlier maps, nothing new. I am really disappointed mostly because I waited out in the cold rain for almost 12 hours with my friends and we really were expecting a good game. That this is not. Save your time, go play something else because this is not worth it. At least I can still sell this on eBay for 90% of the money… Expand

    having played it for couple of hours with mates, the story is weak so far and over the top and the multiplayer is still exactly the same as every cod previous minus some "new" classes, killstreaks etc nothing actually new to warrant all the decent review scores magazines are giving it

    Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. It's Modern Warfare 2 in a new package and obviously for a full price. It's nothing new or special; just another dull war fps game. The single player is too short, the multiplayer is same **** as it was before. Not recommended in any way.

    Well not a whole lot has changed from the previous COD's, besides a couple new mp modes. Thankfully I picked up both, cod mw3 and bf3, but it looks like i'll stick with bf3.

I've spent 60 euros on it (that's huge in a country where the average wages are like 150-200 euros per month) and i cannot play a single game online because Activision decided that they should lock the multiplayer matchmaking so that players can connect to other players from their own country to solve the lag issues. MW3 is a 70 dollar direct carbon copy of MW2 with a map pack and a new god awful campaign. I would not take this game for free. It insults my intelligence and its fans do as well.     Story is bad, gameplay is same as in other ones, this could have been DLC to mw1.

    This game uses the same engine as Modern Warfare 2, doesn't show us anything new, the campaign is patethic, boring and way too easy, the multiplayer is more of the same (as I said already). Also, there will be alot of DLCs.
    Incredible, this game is probably the worst ever.

    Let me pose this question. why does a new FPS need to be released every year by the same developer like a sports game (FiFa, Madden, Tiger Woods, NBA2whatever)? Is it even necessary for a sports game to release a whole new game every year when rosters change or teams move cities? This could have easily been an expanision pack to Mw2 or even something completely different for Black Ops.     It seems like Activision doesn't care and this isn't new behavior for them. Tony Hawk Pro skater was driven into the ground by Activison and Neversoft. Ironically it was EA who stole their skateboarding video game glory with the SKATE franchise. I wouldn't say that there's no room for COD, but they should think about changing their business models if they want to keep FPS enthusiasts and novices from venturing off then they better spice up the formula because the old formula is stale & expensive.    … Expand

Time for Activison to scrap the formula and give gamers something fresh - think of some new ideas for multilayer just don't steal from other games, not surprised after the infinity ward clear out, Respawn will deliver the true COD successor

This is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 1 and/or 2 with a "different", with somehow more bland game play and story and with less originality than ever...     A step backward in the series honestly. MW2 was better. Co-Op was a nice attempt, but just not enough substance to make it worth while. Multiplayer is also a negative. The new game modes are lame and they took out many of the new ones that made Black Ops at least tolerable. If you want to play a re-hash of MW2 with out any good maps then go ahead.

    Worse than expected. And I didn't even expect much. The campaign is alright. The survival mode is just multiplayer maps with rather poor AI. The multiplayer is the same as mw2, with just a few changes. The maps are also too... narrow.

    Unoriginal, lack of innovation, gimmicky, are just a few words to describe a game like this which gets a free pass by critics for the lack of unique new features while other games are harshly reviewed. I played COD4, and from there on it has been a steep downhill slope for the franchise. Stick to Battlefield 3 if you crave something that requires more skill and is a bit more mature.

    This is the same exact game from two years ago. Aside from the graphics being a little but better from black ops if not identical the multiplayer is exactly the same. When it comes down to it you are buying another Call of Duty game that is exactly like a Call of Duty game.

    I gave it another shot, and I'm done paying 60 dollars for an expansion pack.

    This game is just the same old Modern Warfare with new maps and some extra guns. Nothing special at all. This series used to be good but that all stopped at MW2. Game is buggy, single player is lackluster, multiplayer is the same. Activision/IW needs to stop milking this and make an actual good CoD game again.

    this game is such a piece of trash what a waste of $60. I basically paid for the exact same iteration minus a crappy 6 hour campaign last year Plus an even crappier 4 hour campaign. I don't know why I got suckered into buying this game (trash media hype) but can guarantee I'm not falling for this scam again.

    Been playing all night. The maps do not feel right,. The no scooping and drops shots still being int he game are just stupid. And the MOAB is just as game breaking as the nuke was in MW2. The most damning aspect is that it is the same game as MW1, MW2, and Black ops. Huge disappointment.

    More and more each year, the publisher start to care less about the hardcore gamer (who got them here in the first place) & more about $ signs. This is Modern Warfare 1.9, everything is the same as Modern Warfare 2 apart from weapons , which still kinda feel the same but just look different. The maps are new but worse in my opinion.

But Comparing the two is just moronic. I personally can't find anything wrong with this game that wasn't wrong with either of the other modern warfares. So, as a FPS, this game has exceeded my expectations as always and will be the only FPS in my library for a while. Sorry Battlefield fans, BF3 disappointed me.… Expand

    Deeply disappointed! I have played most fanchises of Activision who has - unfortunately degenerated to a pur cash generating machine completely neglecting their real clients, the gamers. Modern Warfare 3 is at its best a Modern Warfare 2 1.5. Activision, and this is for sure will not see me again.

    Buy Battlefield 3! Enter war and feel it.

    The Singleplayer is ok. The multiplayer is really bad. Get this only if you like to follow the stream. I have no idea how a game like this manages to sell millions of copies. Either the gaming industry and consumers consist of a much younger audience, or something drastically casual has washed over it. Skyrim is probably the game to buy this november.

    Biggest disappointment since Star Wars: Phantom Menace. After 2 years of development game looks exactly the same as MW2. I expected at least same difference that CoD4 and 6 had. Nothing like it. Perks are unbalanced AGAIN. Assassin and Blind Eye make killstreaks useless. Tube is powerful AGAIN. Money Wasted 3th time.

    Ultimately, Modern Warfare 3 feels similar to it's brethren, but that doesn't mean it isn't a great game. The single player element is still exciting, and multiplayer has more options than ever – if you're a fan of Call of Duty, Modern Warfare 3 is a no brainer.

    I never expected Modern Warfare 3 to go toe-to-toe with EA's juggernaut this year, but it came out of the gates with a tour de force campaign and co-op mode. It loses points with a perhaps too-familiar multiplayer that caters to the juvenile on Xbox Live; though don't be mistaken, Modern Warfare 3 is one hell of a shooter and a highlight for a series that just won't die – no matter how much we wish it bloody would, at times.
