The game is just a copy & paste from MW2. They have just added a few weapons and a predictable story to release another Call of Duty and hoard in the money from all the under 14's out there who are willing buy anything will 'Call of Duty' on it. It is a shame that the games market is flooded with Copy & Paste games like this because it really stops the few and true gold games to be successful.

I was 'meh' when Black Ops was coming out simply because I had that imbalanced and bug-ridden piece of **** that was MW2 in the back of my mind. I tried it and hated it.

    MW3.

I played a online for a few hours tonight at a friend's house. Wow.

    It's.... terrible.

It looks the same as MW2. Actually, my initial thought was that it did not look as smooth as Black Ops or MW2.
It's definitely faster paced... bullet damage is higher. You will go from 100% health to 0 without even seeing the screen go red because it's that quick (I'm talking softcore) with virtually any primary weapon, especially the Assault rifles. I suppose not necessarily a bad thing.

The new killstreak system is an upgrade I'll give it that. Perks seemed be more balanced.

Sniping is now incredibly easy. My second overall game but my first game of sniping (using the first Bolt-action rifle) I went 32-6. No joke. I don't consider myself a 'pro' either. Second game of sniping... 24-8. But the maps are ****ty. Nothing new. Nothing visually pleasing. It all looks the same to me.
The character animations seem to be so... not new.
All the sounds from MW2 are back in MW3... this pisses me off.
There are more guns than usual. But... 75% of them are previously used guns. Whoo.

Extremely disappointed and I will definitely NOT be buying this game. I recommend this game to anyone who doesn't mind paying $60 for basically the same thing they had 2 years ago. Less bugs though!

As for new players..... you will more than likely enjoy this game. Go for it.

Oh, and the only good thing from Black Ops (Nice customization and dolphin diving)... both gone!

Yes there are a few things that are different and interesting but a lot of it is just the same old stuff that is in previous versions. The only section that I slightly enjoy is the Spec Ops, the only downside on that though is you can only play with one other person. I'd like to be able to play with up to three other people.

Another cog in the machine of the anti-consumer methodology. Re-releasing the same old content and charging over the odds for the privilege of a few new maps and guns in the knowledge that the 'fanbase' will bend over and take it. Maybe if it was 40 dollars it would be a more believable price, but really it's almost like it's just a map pack with a new (4-5 hour) campaign. Comparably, Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas was argued as not differing enough but really they changed gameplay mechanics, new NPCs, a huge new map, and loads of other features though it appeared virtually the same at first. So this game really has no excuse as to why they couldn't have expanded on and improved the gameplay further from its predecessors. As much as I played so far I see nothing that warrants a $60 price tag, besides the obsession to continue playing the Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer on a bunch of new maps. Expand

On the campaign front, the set pieces are explosive and and grand; but they do the typical bit of just throwing enemies at you in waves. No real A.I. to speak of. the story itself was a mess and had know feeling as to be given credit to show that any real thought was put into it. Now the multiplayer.......what a sham. at first you are overwhelmed with everything that there is to unlock; but the more you play, it becomes moot because as with the rest of the Call of Duty's, there is wonderful bit of lag that will kill your character and your soul. the lag isn't noticeable until you realize something isn't right. I upgraded my internet from 12 mbps to 20 and not a single bit of difference was made. quite a few times will I see the barrel of an enemies gun coming around the corner only to be killed, and when I watch the killcam, the other player has come around the corner, aimed right at me at shot me. That's not what I saw. It's even gone so far for me to be running and get shot by an opposing player, who in my screen, hasn't even rounded the corner in front of me yet. But in there screen? they did and I was just running right at them. Another disliked fact about the multiplayer? the maps are to enclosed. there is alot, and I do mean alot, of instances of running face to face with a enemy player running around corners, and there are alot of corners. Alot of corners for people to camp in, and that is what they do. All the maps favor camping because then if you're running, then it just becomes twitch gameplay. not skill, but who has the faster trigger finger and connection to the match. if your connection is suffering, then forget it. online videos posted on youtube of people getting high kills is all people camping. So, to sum it up. This has been the worst of the Call of Duty experiences since the first Modern Warfare. Be warned. and if you're a first time player, then the online experience will be brutal and will definitely not be enjoyable; but downright frustrating. Expand

Twelve months ago, the CEO of Activision, who was bred in a test tube with fertilisation donations from the risen ghost of hitler, called for another game to lengthen the turgid slick of mediocrity that is Call of Duty. Featuring another uninspired campaign of betrayal, shooting foreigners, on rails gunning, and controversy, (think car bombs in London and twelve year old girls) interspersed with witless dialogue and explosions that appeal to the lowest common denominator, this game can only be described as terrible.

It seems no effort was made to make a good game. The graphics are poor in comparison to well made recently released games that will cost you the same amount of money, the campaign is a recycled version of the last 4 years worth of call of duty's. The multiplayer is EXACTLY the same as every other game in the series, but with a collection of new, poorly concieved maps and ideas to create weapon imbalance. In short this game's only redeeming feature is that if you put it in the microwave on high, I believe it will crackle up in a small light show.

Don't get Modern warfare 3, you worked too hard for that money, and you don't want to encourage that lazy bunch of developers. It seems the most effort they made with this game was to beg for people to overlook the lack of quality and give the game a good review. This is a company that had a press release with one of their Modern Warfare 2 map packs, stating that a price rise from the usual 800 MSP per map pack, to 1200 MSP, is in the interests of consumers. Stay away from this game, I have it on good advice that it is one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse, gathering strength with every sale.

Important note: The game features a car bombing in London, and, while I'm all for poorly timed walks of the dangerous knife edge that is taste and decency, capitilising on devastating terrorist attacks to create the illusion of storyline and plot, and to generate anger out of teenage boys, it must be noted that the scene is handled with the sensitivity and delicacy of a drug mule's full cavity search at an Indonesian airport. Also PARIS LOOKS NOTHING LIKE THAT!! The furthest the developers must have gone in their 'research' was the McDonald's nearest to the 'development' 'studio' , while their MW2 disks had the 3's printed over.

The developers sank as low as to beg for good reviews (absolutely shameless) - originally the user score sat at less than 2.5 - now, sadly, it is rising because of the flock of sheep that follow the developer around blindly. It is not worth 3.

I have played the greatest Game of all time and I can assure you that MW3 is no Street Sweeper. Mw3 has none of the variety and originality that Street Sweeper has. The Graphics are about the same but have none of the genius and beauty that Street Sweeper has in droves. And while MW3 has Streets it sadly has no Sweeping mode. Fail, Epic Fail.

Did I ever tell you the definition of insanity? No, but seriously why this game sells great every year is a mystery to me. I don't want to support anything to do with this game anymore, and at this point, i'm pretty ashamed to be in in the same category as this yearly cash-in. Now tell me one thing this terrible excuse of a game has done since the last installment, in fact, make that the first installment. There are the new maps, a scattering of new guns and modes. It is clear to me why it takes only a year to make this game, because it is just the same game as the previous installment, but in a shiny new box with a fancy new midnight launch. It is about time gamers used their brains and spent their money where it is actually deserved, not on some cheap remake. Reward innovation and keep the developers who care in business. The same cannot be said of Infinity Ward, as they push out the same game year after year.

If you actually liked MW2, there probably isn't anything you will dislike about this game. But at least acknowledge that you are getting ripped off. This is the same thing Madden does: update the roster, tweak a few modes, and call it a sequel. The same thing Guitar Hero did: add some new songs and call it a sequel. Here's a newsflash: adding a few maps and weapons does not warrant a full priced sequel, especially when you release a new one every single year. The executives only let the quality of these games sink so low because they know people are going to buy it anyway. And so far, they've been right.

I suspect at this point you might be tired of modern first person shooters. If you aren't, check out Battlefield 3. It isn't a perfect game by any means, but it at least is a step in the right direction for games. DICE chose to support their older games with DLC, prolonging their life, and took the time to develop an innovative and polished sequel, instead of rushing it out last year. If another modern FPS isn't what you are looking for, plenty of other games this holiday season deserve your money much more than MW3.

this was a serious disappointment. after all this time they've managed to re-hash and re-work the same tired engine and graphics and and actually make it WORSE! the multiplayer graphics are slow and dumpy and cartoonish compared to previous cod titles of both studios. even black ops was less cartoonish than this, and that was bad. the multiplayer firing sounds like a drumstick hitting athis was a serious disappointment. after all this time they've managed to re-hash and re-work the same tired engine and graphics and and actually make it WORSE! the multiplayer graphics are slow and dumpy and cartoonish compared to previous cod titles of both studios. even black ops was less cartoonish than this, and that was bad. the multiplayer firing sounds like a drumstick hitting a cardboard box... even through my home theatre setting. also the running sounds? laughable. they don't even change according to ground surface, and If they do, it's real subtle. now graphics could take a back seat if the gameplay was solid, but it's not. even that is worse than ever. hit detection is at an all time low. it's the classic case of pumping a whole clip into someone's back as they look out a window, only for them to turn around while you reload, aim, and fire a 3 round burst to kill you. the maps are so small that sniper rifles are rendered useless. there's so much clutter that you can barely pick out the enemy because all the colors blend together. my tv is brand new, my home theater is brand new, I have a great connection, and I've been playin this title for the last 6 years. im no noob. im also not 12 tears old, so stop selling me crap. its insulting. this is the worst cod I've ever played. stop cocentrating on squeezing 60fps into a tires ass game and build a new engine. take a page from battlefield for christs sake. I've played this for a few hours. Nothing new, no chances taken. It feels just the same as MW2 and not in a good way. I don't want to pay for the same game twice just to have a 3 instead of a 2 on the logo.

As expected this is just a copy from the last game with no real improvements to the Multiplayer. Singleplayer has some new stuff but if that were the game alone no one would buy it anyway. Seriously, let's get behind the FPS craze please.

The garbage you've paying $60 every year is back and now it want to take another $50 for a service called Elite, what a rip off! MW3 is slapped together campaign, and a rehash of online feature. Stay away from games like this and get a quality game like Skyrim.

I can honestly say this is the worst Call of Duty game, it won't be long until Activision ruins another franchise like they did Guitar Hero. No thought went into this game other than the artistic design of the maps. Then adding Call of Duty Elite, for a fee is where I draw the line. This is the last Call of Duty I will ever buy. This game was just so lackluster. If you enjoy mw2 you'll enjoy this "new" game its basically the except smaller maps more people more lag more camping and less fun with a horribly forgettable campaign and boring modes it is fun when play with four friends locally though.

It's quite sad that they repackage the same old thing with a sixty dollar price tag and expect you to buy into it as a new product. And then wine about the well deserved horrible user score. Too bad the so called pro critics are somehow blind to the fact that its simply MW2 with a few inconsequential upgrades.

It gives the players awful latency spikes. quit pretending that this game is the it all and end all. you seriously have to make up with us the gamers and start listening to the community, hey start by making the ranked servers accessible on dedicated servers.

Dated graphics, awful sound and the game in general feels like something from 2007. Small linear maps, online is a worthless. Charging 60$ for the exact same game they released a year ago and the year before and the year before. How long do you think this will keep going? COD is DEAD.

Ultimately, Modern Warfare 3 feels similar to it's brethren, but that doesn't mean it isn't a great game. The single player element is still exciting, and multiplayer has more options than ever – if you're a fan of Call of Duty, Modern Warfare 3 is a no brainer.

Modern Warfare 3, while still an excellent thrill ride in its own right, feels far too similar to MW2 or even Black Ops for my taste.
  3. I never expected Modern Warfare 3 to go toe-to-toe with EA's juggernaut this year, but it came out of the gates with a tour de force campaign and co-op mode. It loses points with a perhaps too-familiar multiplayer that caters to the juvenile on Xbox Live; though don't be mistaken, Modern Warfare 3 is one hell of a shooter and a highlight for a series that just won't die – no matter how much we wish it bloody would, at times.
