    It's a shame that people still after all these copy/paste CoD titles are still giving up their hard earned cash. They pulled off a scheme greater than Madden, because at least Madden upgrades their engine and doesnt release tons of DLC. Whoever pays for this gives true meaning to the phrase, "A FOOL AND HIS MONEY ARE SOON PARTED".

    More of the same. The same old story, every years. Unfortunately many people will buy it and will pay absurd online pass and dlc. Huge disappointment, seems just a DLC for an old Modern Warfare.

    I tried to get into this game, hoping that the critic reviews were accurate, but GOD THEY MUST BE BLIND!
    They led me to believe it would be better than BO or in the same class as Modern Warfare 2(which was my first CoD game). But to be honest I enjoyed Modern Warfare 2 more, and that game was repetitive in multi-player. A complete rehash of a series of rehashes, all with stagnant, random gameplay. So I urge you, the consumer: do not buy this game.     Modern Warfare 3 brings nothing new to the table. This game should be a $15 map pack, end of story. It's quite sad that the gaming industry has brought us to this point, right here.

    Absolute rubbish, same thing as Modern Warfare 2. Yes they made some gun advancements, but compared to other games it is about as good as your Nintendo 64 games. Do yourself a favor DO NOT BUY THIS GAME.

Call of Duty is already becoming a throwaway series that Activision always seems to eliminate once there is enough money made. This game has its moments but the singleplayer wasn't as mindblowing as Call of Duty 4's campaign. The multiplayer also seems to have ripped off the idea of dogtags from previous Battlefield games. What's wrong, InfinityWard? Are your games all of the sudden losing its touch to the point where you need to copy from a bigger stronger franchise? This game is lucky to receive a 0 from me because I refuse to give it anything higher. The reason for this is because of how not only did this game disappoint me, but the whole damned franchise too. I'm not going to tell you that BF3 is better, because I don't play that either, and the only CoDs I've played is CoD2, and the original Modern Warfare. Anyway here is what I wanted to say. Since when is a game acceptable when it has one race violently pitted against another, since when is a game acceptable to have you slaughter thousands of innocent people in broad daylight, since when is it acceptable for a game to have you mercilessly kill a terrorist in prejudice, without the right to a fair trial. Since when is it acceptable for a game to brainwash millions of our children into thinking that war, racism, and murder is the norm, that is an enjoyable pastime that each and every person should enjoy. Tell me Infinity Ward, when is it value for money for a campaign in a game to last less than 5 hours for the average player, since when do games have a final "boss" which consists of QTE only, since when do games care not for gameplay, and lead you through a script like a movie, care not for story and put you through the most generic terrorist attack story 3 times over, since when do the composers put barely any effort into their compositions... and the game I'm describing still sells 3.6 million sales in one day. Call of Duty now, to me is not a game, it is a piece of media that pushes the War Agenda for the country of America, it is the epitome of buying a brand, or a name and not a product, (i.e. Apple,) it is the perfect way to desensitize our kids, and make them believe that war is the norm, and that a hero is a man who kills another man in the name of patriotism. This game ensures that we put our future, and by that I mean our children, one step further away from our dreams of the likes of World Peace, or a unified world, because this game, and yes, many others like it have prepared them so, and put them in the state of mind that this is the right thing to do. I remember when a game was about traveling through an unknown world, meeting new characters along the way, battling inhumane beasts and aliens along the way, choosing how to change the world for the better along the way, all whilst being asked philosophical and psychological questions along the way, and making me a better person along the way. I don't know what to say in closing but I will say this, CoD is not a video game.… Expand

    Incredibly disappointing, feels like more of a disappointment than Modern Warfare 2. Sure, Modern Warfare 2 felt a bit like a rehash, but at least it brought in new ideas. This game has brought nothing in new. I've already returned it, I might as well just play Black Ops or MW2 online.

    Save your money and buy Battlefield 3 instead.

Well, if you thought MW2 and COD4 had bad multiplayer, STAY AWAY! This is the WORST multiplayer I have seen in a game in a long time. The hitboxes are the size of a car and it seems like the enemy team is calling in EMPs every 5 seconds. I sold thisWhere do I start on this game. The campaign is just as stupid as every other COD but the real reason people buy COD is for the multiplayer. Well, if you thought MW2 and COD4 had bad multiplayer, STAY AWAY!     This game is utterly terrible, it's jingoistic, ugly, barely different from its equally terrible predecessors, and an overall wretched mess. I wish I hadn't purchased it. I'll be returning my copy shortly for some trade-in credit, with a good 20 dollars still lost. Never again.

Activision should have just released this game as DLC for MW2, because thats basically what it is. Don't waste your money with this game.

    MW3=MW2. Same shirt different day. I feel really sorry for the developers on this one because a lot of gamers will be upset about paying $65 for a 5 hour campaign and recycled multiplayer.

    What were they thinking?!?! Same crap different day. This should have been a 1200MSP as a DLC because that's what it felt like. I'm sure there will be lots of MW3s on the used game section tomorrow at GameCrooks. Thanks for the $35 lost Craptivision because Gamecrooks will only give me $25.

Having bought every Call of Duty game (which has become as much of an annual release as the sub-par sports games that mar the industry) since Call of Duty 4, I can honestly say nothingAside from being literally EXACTLY the same cookie-cutter, generic first person shooter that the product-sponge of society has come to love so dearly, Modern Warfare 3 is probably the letdown of the century. Having bought every Call of Duty game (which has become as much of an annual release as the sub-par sports games that mar the industry) since Call of Duty 4, I can honestly say nothing has been changed. MW3 could have easily been boxed up and sold as an expansion pack. Literally no improvements were made, and the graphics were actually DOWNGRADED to even muddier and more lackluster textures than Black Ops and MW2. The multiplayer consists of a few new maps and guns, but that is it. The HUD has had NO changes at all, which is disappointing considering the ease and thoughtlessness with which something original could have been implemented. Gun sounds and many models were dug out of older game files and stuck directly into MW3 with new skins. The singleplayer campaign mode is nothing new for CoD games--a linear hallway with meaninglessly controversial and "shocking" plot twists, the corpses of which have been beaten to death by CoD developers so much that the plot in its entirety was easily assumable based on prior knowledge of the excuse for a "plot" that older CoD games have. It even included a now-obligatory slow motion section after many illogically unsurvivable "intense" moments. The final moment of the game could possibly be meant to come across as "epic conclusion, look at what just happened," but passes off for little more than a juvenile attempt at being edgy and brutal. Many of its elements are torn directly out of other popular media such as other movies or games, and it saddens me that society will gluttonously devour this ruined ramshackle husk of what was once a series with some potential. TL;DR: Modern Warfare 3 contains literally zero new elements, no innovation, and is/was marketed solely on the underwhelming achievements of its past. It is a reskinned expansion pack to Modern Warfare 2, and its commercial success is sickening. As a whole, the game is totally abysmal.… Expand

    I expected it to be the same. It actually is worse than black ops. a lot worse. the biggest problem I had was that survival was suppose to rival zombies. i can say it does not do this. too much randomness involved.

    This game is garbage. I regret buying it- it is 90% MW2, with some new features. this is a bull **** game. I would Like my money back IW. The new feature is similar to zombies, but a bit more realistic. and the new game play is intersting, but not worth th $60+

    Having played this it is just terrible. A more correct term for this is MW2.5. I mean this is totally what I was expecting, another clone with the same graphics as it was in 2006 and same same everything as the other Call of Duty's.

    How much do these critics get paid to give this worthless game good reviews? And who gave this game a positive review? It's just a map pack for mw2 that costs $60. Next year, another cod game will probably come out as the "most anticipated game in history (what a joke)." Little children and "critics" (I use this term loosely) everywhere will be on their knees to suck off activision.

    poor graphics on xbox360,and poor gameplay also.
    when i have played this game on ps3, i was really thrilled.
    online is not as good on xbox live than on psn.
    Looks like call of duty has gone with the wrong lead platform.
    PS3 it should have been.

Also, juggernauts, and the weapon level ups kill the multiplayer for me, along with many other things like the gear unlocks in the prestige shop....too many day one players with 3 prestige tokens. Campaign, cool but where are the Americans? WTH do I want to play aIssue no. 1, it's a shooter and the weapons are not interesting to use, and what's the deal with the one handed pistols?     Boring story, graphics are just TERRIBLE muddy looking. SAVE YOUR $$$. Nothing more than a simple Michael Bay Film. This game is absolute garbage. The campaign just felt absolutely forced and was completely forgettable by the end of it. Spec Ops is trash because zombies in WaW and Black Ops was just so much better.

If you want a cod game worth playing get black ops richer multilayer, nice campaign ( MORE LONGER THAN MW3 CAMPAIGN ) and best survival mode called zombies which to be honest will get you bored in a month which is more better than MW3.

WTF right? what a useless thing to add to a game. it's just going to make the game more unfair as will the stacked killstreaks. running is very akward and the shotguns suck. spec ops is no where near the level of zombies despite it being more complex. i played the game for 8-9 hours and honestly i can say i will stick with black ops. might even return it unless they patch some stuff out in upcoming weeks.… Expand

Let's start with why I think this game deserves the rating I gave it. I'm gonna go by gameplay since that's the main thing and story is not as important to me. This is not a new game. The skins and most of the guns are the same from MW2. They have a new leveling system for guns which takes a real long time. Once again, there is pretty much no point to prestige. If anything your at a worse disadvantage under this system. Also, there are a lot of little glitches which definitely should be patched. I'm talking about how you run, the hitmarkers, and switching weapons. I think that you appear on the map if you get hit by flash. It's just stupid stuff that doesn't do anything but make the game worse. I just don't understand why it was like that in the first place. If they test the game they should see that it's dumb. Also, cod elite is just a rip of bungie.net. To me, I've grown tired of competitive gaming. Halo 3 and Halo 2 took some skill so I understood it, but Reach and Cod is just a different game. Now, stats are going to take even more priority over teamwork. All the good things that black ops did like Combat Training, Wager Matches, Zombies, PURE playlists. They got nothing to compare on here. Spec Ops was suppose to be a calling card to this game, but it just falls flat. It has too much randomness involved imo to match zombies.     Waste of money and waste of time. Why spend money on this game when I already bought it with mw2? I don't want to spend 65$ on DLC and why it was reviewed how it was by the critics i'll never know. The campaign is the only reason people will play it and after that's done they will have to suffer with the thing they call multiplayer or put the game away and realize it's money well wasted.

The graphics have not improved since the first modern warfare. (Black ops was way better visually) And they say they added new features? LMAO What? "survival" All they did was get rid of the zombie make up!!!

    The fact that they reused sound/animations/models and even forgot to change the error messages (they still refer to itself as MW2) is plain atrocious.

    COD MW3 is an amazing DLC for mw2 except that they overpriced it by like 45 dollars and your stats don't e ven carry over. In this dlc it resets everything and espects you to do it all over. All I can say is that this is the same exact game as mw2. I was looking forward to this game but it was a huge let down!!!

Battlefield gets ripped on the fact that they added a singleplayer mode to what is essentially a multiplayer only game, just as an addition to add value to the game, yet Activision gets away with this crap every year. It's all about the money, and they're making a lot of it.

    The only thing that has been added to the game was a new campaign, some weapons and a "weapon-progression" system. The graphics is still the same, lame old repetitive sounds from MW2(just new for the weapons) and still the same ol Run-n-Gun idea from COD 4.

    this game i just terrible, the campaign is just the same as always and the muliplayer i boring. I am so tired of little kids jumping around with snipers thinking they are cool. The graphic is the same as mw 2, and that is almost everything else too. Don't buy this game, you will regret it!

    I have played this for a while now and to be honest, it is crap!!!! They used the same buildings from Call of Duty 4, the same engine from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. It is also a big downgrade from Call of Duty: Black Ops.

    This game supposed to be new & balanced yet i haven't seen any thing that's new or balanced. Game feel like cod4 on crack **** maps are to small, hardly any new guns. If you have any cod game and want buy mw3 do your self a favor and save your money. Biggest disappointment of the year!! (please don't buy this game)

    I played for 7 hours between on line and campaign mode and its kinda boring. On line doesnt feel right as all other call of duty games. One question I have is do the elite gamers have an edge on anything? I know activision would never say but some of the elite gamerse seem to have way more kills than everyone else. Just wondering???     i have played this game many times before and the in game play is absouloutley hrrible! it really needs to get an upgrade as mw2 was about twice as good! i am a huge cod fan but battlefield just takes the cake for me at the moment

    MW3 is really bad and lacks any improvements from MW2. Copy & paste is the short version of many reviews. Battlefield is by FAR the superior game. Don't get me wrong, i have played all the cod games and loved all of them except this and WAW. But bf3 is superior in every way and mw3 is a waste of money and time.

MW3 just didn't change anything except making you play on crappier maps. Not sure which one is screwing its' customer's harder. Wait for this to go down in price. Like way down. MW3 feels like MW2 with different maps and I find the multiplayer to be worse, I don't like the way the kill streaks work and I don't like the maps. It sure as hell isn't worth the $60 Activision is suckering all of us into paying. This game is garbage and anybody that supports this franchise any further is only hurting themselves. Do Not Buy

    Roommate recently bought this game and I can;t help but think that it is the most expensive map pack ever. I feel bad for my friend I hope he can return it.

    This game is about as entertaining as driving a rusty nail through my genitalia. I.E. it isn't called modern borefare for a reason. Seriously don't recommend the game.

    Ultimately, Modern Warfare 3 feels similar to it's brethren, but that doesn't mean it isn't a great game. The single player element is still exciting, and multiplayer has more options than ever – if you're a fan of Call of Duty, Modern Warfare 3 is a no brainer.

    I never expected Modern Warfare 3 to go toe-to-toe with EA's juggernaut this year, but it came out of the gates with a tour de force campaign and co-op mode. It loses points with a perhaps too-familiar multiplayer that caters to the juvenile on Xbox Live; though don't be mistaken, Modern Warfare 3 is one hell of a shooter and a highlight for a series that just won't die – no matter how much we wish it bloody would, at times.
