    This is a fantastic game!!!! Great job Infinity Ward!!!! I wish the Battlefield fan boys would accept the fact that your game is inferior...and thats being kind. The comparison isnt even close.

    I really don't see how this game is rated so bad, it's absolutely amazing! Everyone who owns the game I know of loves it. The quality and graphics are outstanding and the campaign is great, it's an amazing carry on from mw2 and I personally am in love with the game!

    While MW3 might be a lot like MW2, that's a good thing. If they made tons of changes people would be screaming bloody murder. Anyone that I know that truly owns MW3 enjoys it and states it is by far the best in the series and they've said people they've played the game with states the same thing. Seems the only people I've seen bashing it are the BF3 fanboys, which I highly doubt even ownsWhile MW3 might be a lot like MW2, that's a good thing. I'm not a huge fan of either of games, i play MW just to have fun, and i got what i wanted, yes, the graphics look dated and the compain is short, but it's satisfying, and BF3 was trying to do the same thing with the campain but was just plain boring.     Sure it's more of the same but it is more refined. It's a great game, well made and extremely polished.

    I have heaps of fun with it and that is what counts.

    I was on the fence about Modern Warfare 3 because I love Black Ops so much and did not enjoy MW2 so much, being they were developed by different companies and all. The new Call of Duty blows them all away. The multiplayer is the first thing I dove into and was immediately surprised at how excellent it is. The action is fast and furious and the weapons, while different than Black Ops, wereI was on the fence about Modern Warfare 3 because I love Black Ops so much and did not enjoy MW2 so much, being they were developed by different companies and all. The new Call of Duty blows them all away. The multiplayer is the first thing I dove into and was immediately surprised at how excellent it is.     I have really enjoyed this game so far. The new survival mode in spec ops is alot of fun and the other missions are great. The campaign is not as great as it could've been story wise, but the gameplay is still great. Haven't done much online but can see that its gonna be good. but if elite was also working would be a great game.

The people who make the game (Infinity ward and sledgehammer) once said and i quote "We are not shipping an engine,we are shipping a game" - Glen Schofield Co-Founder of sledghammer.     Awesome game. More of the same but to me its just what the doctor ordered!! Loved every minute out it. Three conclusion was great and on the pc its amazing. Multi player is great. Too many kids but what are you going to do.

    This game offers everything cod gamers wanted, it runs smoove the campaign was awsome, the spec ops is so fun. the mp is balanced and fast paced, im enjoying this game its great.

    Quite possibly one of the greatest games of all time. The multiplayer is streets ahead of BF3's and 60 fps = silky smooth gameplay. It is very similar to MW2 (which just so happens to be one of the best COD's out there) which explains why its just so darn addicting.

    i enjoy this game and i have battlefield. to each their own i guess.... if u like call of duty period, then u will love this game. if u hate call of duty then don't get it plain and simple

    Started playing MW3 on release day, and to put it simply: The Best just got Better! The campaign was amazing and ended an awesome story. Multiplayer was excellent with new modes, maps and guns. The survival mode in spec-ops was another highlight. In conclusion MW3 was one of the best games I ever played.

    Super smooth and fun gameplay. I love it. Best game of the year, along with skyrim. Haters gon'hate. This is a beautiful addition to the franchise. I have played all call of duty games since the first. And all battlefield games since the second... They are two different games. One is fun, the other realistic. When I game I want to pick up the controller and have fun. Mw3 allows this.

A great multiplayer. its not the best out there but its great. and fyi neither does bf3 have the best multiplayer. the campaign was epic. loved it. spec ops has improved a whole lot. all you bf3 **** riders need to stop hating. your game has a great multiplayer just like mw3 but the rest of the game sucks. you may not like cod but that doesnt mean itsThis game is what i was looking for.     This game is super fun...improves on so many things from previous call of duty's. I'll be playing this game all year. If you like this game too, please give it a good review...There seems to be an anti-COD campaign going on here.....9 million pre-orders? Give this game some love fans!

    Best COD yet definantly way better than black ops which i also liked alot. the game runs way smoother than black ops and is the most balanced cod yet.

    i love this game. It just rocks!! MP just sucks you in. You keep telling yourself one more game then again saying one more game. One more level lets try this gun. Its just so addictive and fun and I just LOVE this game play it with an open mind and you will love it too!!!!

    Awesome game, without a doubt the best call of duty to date. The multiplayer is also the best yet. The graphics running at 60fps look great, unlike another fps i can think of! Dont listen to the negative reviews they are just the call of duty haters who probably havent even played the game.

BF3 won the graphics. the best single player campaign provides a best gameplay. spec ops is fun 2 play with our mates. but now they hav 2 change their engine.     Excellent, superb game! The best one so far! Much more stable online component than Black Ops. Yes it's similar to past games but that's EXACTLY why i love it! The controls are faster, smoother and tighter than they've ever been before. New guns, new perks, new point streaks and new maps will keep me hooked for months. This is the first COD i've bought on launch day and i'm glad i did.

    love it! Best in trilogy smoother, less glitches. Perks are more balanced as are the kill streaks. Only problem is the sniping quick scope is to powerfull but im sure they will nerf it soon.

I am a massive modern warfare fan and have been looking forward to MW3 since black ops first arrived, however, I am sorely disappointed to say the least, MW3 avatar is slow, and game play seems to be even slower than MW2, I dont believe this is a worth while release and am taking this straight back to gamestation, not only this but I played for 2 hours under double XP reaching level 26 when I logged back on later I was for some unknown reason level 8 ?? I dont think any of the 16 maps are particularly big infinity ward have managed to make them all feel like you are playing a map consistently the size of nuke town (just for reference) I will not be giving this another try, however, I will try the new treyarch title in November next year which I believe is going to be a black ops sequel. Once again I cannot stress how diappointing MW3 is and honestly believe it should be taken off the shelves and given some serious work as MW3 feels like a step backwards towards MW2 rather than a better experience than black ops. One the other hand I have never been a fan of battlefield either but I think there is going to be a big shift in sales towards the Modern warfare rivals come the next installment. I would say well done to infinity ward but you are leaving everyone I know devastated after waiting for so long.… Expand

The singple player is as always as roller coaster ride and multiplayer delivers an even more balanced experience.     Don't understand people this is by far the best MW yer. SP is off the chart. MP seems more balanced with support packages. Being able to level up your gun gives you another thing to do. Survival mod is just plaing fun, throw Spec Ops you have a better package all around.

    This game is amazing, much better than Black Ops or mw2. I hated Black Ops, which turned me off from the series, and I only played a couple hours of #2. But every aspect of this game blew away my expectations, and it has been one of the most fun shooters I have ever played!

    I got the game at 10am on Tuesday and I must say I love it. I beat the campaign and yes it was a tad short but I felt it was the best SP campaign since COD 4. I loved the conclusion. I've played spec ops and MP and I'm loving both of them. I have read and skimmed a few reviews on here and there ratings and its just stupid I must say.     MW3 doesn't break the mold set by the other games in the series, but instead refines and perfects. But hey, if it aint broke don't try and fix it! The franchise has become so popular because of it's slick multiplayer and explosive campaign. I have no problem recommending this game. If you like online mulitplayer, this is more than worth the cost of the game!

    Great game! If you don´t like it, go cry and play this crap called Battlefield 3! (: The singeplayer is short, but way more intense then Battlefield 3. The multiplayer isn't just an 'add-on' like a lot of battlefield fanboys say.. There are so much new things: New weapons (a lot!) , new locations & a lot of new killstreaks. And even a new multiplayer mode! So hell yeah, a 10!

    This game is great! Very revamped for the multiplayer with 16 maps to start out with! the spec ops is also really fun I play it with my brother all the time and have a blast. The storyline is great if you know all of the previous modern warffare stories. Great game.

    The story mode: Quiet a short playthrough, although not if you are getting all of the achievements/trophies, usual fast paced action adventure and a great way to complete the trilogy.
    Multiplayer: Looks stunning, great action, well thought out leveling systems.

    Great game great multiplayer, the people that give it very low scores have never played it and have nothing better to do than rate a game down they haven't played. The people playing are having too much fun on the game to come on here and rate it. IMO this is the best cod since cod 4.

    Nice graphic, very good sound (better than mw2), singleplayer owns everything, and perfect multiplayer. Guys this game is amazing!!!! I think this game is really good, the best of all modern warfare.

Looks and sounds great, the best controls possible and always at 60 fps. also includes the option for split screen co-op and even 4 player co op a la Goldeneye!     This game is great, builds on a strong foundation of call of duty games. Yes they didn't re-invent the wheel, but it is still the best shell out there by far! Multi-player is click and smooth as ever and the campaign had breath taking edge of your seat moments. If your looking for something different play a different game, if your looking for FPS heaven, this is as close as it gets!

    It's amazing!!! I have been playing for hours non-stop, and still want more. The main history in single-player is great, much better than Battlefield 3, with action and all plots being solved. It's worth my rate and worth my money.,

    I love all of the battlefield 3 fanboys rating this game badly for the same reason when on console battlefield 3 is basically bad company 2.5. This game does not innovate but improves on what MW2 did well and in my opinion this game is the best yet!

    I picked up the game at the midnight release and I haven't stopped playing it. The graphics got a serious update and the gameplay is as fast and fun as ever. Sorry for having my own opinion.

    I found a game in kill confirmed, I loaded into the game (i was on a snow map but i cant remember what it was called) and im not gonna lie, my first impressions was "this looks ALOT like black ops" and the reason for this is how everything seems closer to you that they did in cod4 and mw2, soo i was a little bit worried at first, but then the worries soon went away when i got my first few kills and realised that the guns were balanced, there was reasonable recoil and you dont have magic bullets that bend round corners , one of the other things that i noticed strait away was that the knife, it HAS been fixed and this if for the better , it feels and sounds ALOT like the cod4 knife.

    after that game i was surprised at how well done and balanced the game is , the next map i played on was one called bakarra , this looks like a blackhawk down inspired map (as there is a black hawk in the middle of the map) , in that game i then realised that people who usually rely on grenades and explosives were always using flashbangs and stun grenades (i guess this is where blast shield pro comes in handy) , now back to what i was saying earlier , the guns have a reasonable amount of recoil , so this is where the proficiency "kick" really comes in handy , i unlocked it and used it straight away , and this helped me pick off enemies from longer distances faster, in this game i used my "I.M.S" kill streak , i deployed it in a building while i was looking out the window, it got 3 kills within seconds, some people might think this is over powered but just 1 emp grenade or half a clip of ammo will take this out.

    i did quite a few games and unlocked quite a few things for my rifles, i got to about level 23 and realized that the levels wasnt much of a grind to get through as there are loads of challenges, one of the things i really like about the new online feel is that is, if you start shooting some guy in the back then 90% of the time he will die and not turn around and shoot you in the face.

    after that i went over to the single player, (dont worry i wont be giving away any story spoilers) , I started playing it and it basically makes you aware of what happens in the previous modern warfare games, after playing for a bit i got to a level called "black tuesday" this is where i realised how much this story feels like cod4 , all of these "hollywood scripted moments" really fall into place in the missions and they actually seem believable, i have done quite a bit of the story so far , and at this moment in time the story seems longer that any other call of duty to date. i havent come across to playing spec ops yet, but i will soon.

    but one of the downsides i would say about the multiplayer (to me) is that the maps dont feel like modern warfare 2 or cod4's maps they feel like black ops maps for the way you can move about them, but a good thing that they added was more vertical gameplay in the maps.    … Expand

    Great game. Spec ops is brilliant. I had no issues with lag during multiplayer. The maps are varied and well designed. The COD series is the standard for FPS multiplayer for a reason.

    Servers are slow but as expected, campaign not very long but still interesting, survival mode and spec. ops live up to the great hype they got. excellent, i believe the survival mode is better than zombies. online play will return to the top once the not so serious gamers leave to go and play a new game. let the game settle before you are so quick to judge.

    MW3 is exactly the same as MW2 and MW2 was trash. So you're paying for the exact same you already paid for. Oh and by the way MW2 was a rehash of COD4. If you enjoy spending sixty dollars on the exact same product every year then go ahead and continue buying COD games. If I watched someone play MW3 and they didn't tell me whether or not it was MW2 or MW3 I wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

    I loved MW2 multiplayer, but found black ops nowhere near as satisfying (the weapons just didn't have enough OOMPH). The gameplay here is very similar to MW2, minus the unbalance (no commando, no nukes) and it all feels incredibly meaty and satisfying to play.

    The survival mode is absolutely brilliant - and INCREDIBLY addictive (with the experience unlocks it feels like a more easy-going version of multiplayer)    … Expand

    For me COD MW3 = :) and I play with a large group of friends and to me that is how i enjoy it. if you are a fan of call of duty this is the best one. The gun leveling ads to the game and kill confirmed is the best gametype

    It is more or less the same as mw2 but i enjoyed playing mw2. But after all it got boring after awhile. The new guns, maps,game types, perks, and killstreaks help spice up the game. It may be very similar, but its definetely worth getting because you'll always choose to play this one instead

    Incredible multiplayer maps (eliminates camping to a vast extent!!!), awesome new killstreak/pointstreak system rewarding the objective player. Shotguns do suck and snipers are annoying to play against as they were in mw2. Solid singleplayer with an interesting campaign.

    COD MW3 is the best multiplayer game in the series. The gunplay is easily the best on any console first person shooter. It runs at a very smooth 60 frames per second ans has little to no lag. This is very much an improvement over Blops. Ignore the trolls and haters this game is as fun as ever.

I have been playing Call of Duty since COD3 on the 360, I also own a PS3 and have played a lot of MW2 and Black Ops on both platforms. For me (as I'm sure it is for most) it is all about the multiplayer, though I have some fond memories of hiding in my Ghillie suit in MW1. In my opinion, there is simply no other multiplayer experience like it. It is the closest thing to digital crack. The gameplay is very tight and fast paced, and it feels so satisfying when you are doing well (also terrible when you are on the back foot, this is part of the magic) With the leveling, the challenges, and the accolades, it feels like you are being rewarded every time you play. It's a great feeling the first time around, but there is a sense of diminishing returns after you prestige. Not to worry, because the gameplay is so much fun. I have played 11 hours of online MW3 already and had many unforgettable moments that will stick with me. The new maps are awesome. Kill Confirmed is a great new multiplayer mode, which is so addictive now when I play any other mode I am already conditioned to look for the tags. I have a few criticisms: I have already noticed a few lag switchers in game, but I promptly saved a video from the theatre of their antics, and reported them. I hope that Infinity Ward/Sledgehammer Games will deal with them accordingly. The fact that Elite wasn't working on launch date was a big fail. Yes the game engine is old now, but it runs at 60fps and is smoother than a baby's buttocks.

    Despite any shortcomings, I support this game and the developers who put all their hard work into it. I just hope lots of other fans come out of the woodwork and say their piece.    … Expand

    Single player had great set peices, though it was fairly short. The story was usually just an excuse to blow $#$% up but I suppose it but things in context.

    Multiplayer is quite familiar, but hey most people knew that going in. Kill confirmed is definitely good fun though.

    Overall I'm a happy camper.

    (the 10 is because I think the score is unfairly low, its more of the same, but it works)

    If it ain't broke, don't fix it. The single player is fine and ties up the story neatly. The real meat of the stew is in the MP, obviously. There is enough innovation to make this feel like a whole new game to some players. Fun all around.

My point is that although MW3 graphically isnt as good as BF3, it has the right balance of good graphics and gameplay, it runs smooth and all maps look rather nice. and to people that are saying that this is just an update, i dont see how you can pack everything thats new in MW3 to a simple update. You have campagin thats short but fun, spec ops that has being reinvented and is more fun than before, and the survival game, and dont forget multiplayer.
    10+ new maps, new and more balanced weapons, new equipment and the reinvention of streaks. Lots of unlockables and new modes. And although these modes arent new to the world, they are new to COD. In conclusion im not giving MW3 a 10 because its COD, im giving it a 10 because to me is a lot of fun and thats what counts.     Almost every negative score is from a first time reviewer. Go ahead and click their names and see for yourself. I find it strange that metacritic is allowing these reviews to stay up. I know for a fact they pulled a few bad reviews for Uncharted 3. This is making the site look bad.

    Very good campaign (to play in veteran) with not dead time !!! And great multiplayer game with 16maps and many mode !!! Great production, best game of the serie MW !!!

    This is a fantastic game, I had been waiting for months to play this and now it's here I love it, I'm glad they brought back the G36c an old CoD4 favourite!!

    This is the best cod game by far- Quality campaign Deep multiplayer Amazing spec ops mode with survival

    How anyone can say this game is a copy and paste is obviously stupid and must be terrible at cod, Because the multiplayer is totally balanced compared to other games which makes it more competitve.

    Overall this game wont dissapoint

    Ultimately, Modern Warfare 3 feels similar to it's brethren, but that doesn't mean it isn't a great game. The single player element is still exciting, and multiplayer has more options than ever – if you're a fan of Call of Duty, Modern Warfare 3 is a no brainer.

    I never expected Modern Warfare 3 to go toe-to-toe with EA's juggernaut this year, but it came out of the gates with a tour de force campaign and co-op mode. It loses points with a perhaps too-familiar multiplayer that caters to the juvenile on Xbox Live; though don't be mistaken, Modern Warfare 3 is one hell of a shooter and a highlight for a series that just won't die – no matter how much we wish it bloody would, at times.
