An awesome game with awesome graphics and sound, the use of strategy in huge maps encourage the team work. Each class win points for anything besides kill an enemy, the back to karkand add on is just wonderful with more maps to engage the game

This game is incredibly fun. Never was a big fan of the BF series, but BC2 was what turned me. The online is hectic and tactical/slow and deliberate all at the same time. Its an amazing feeling to be defending an MCOM and feel a huge explosion and turn around to see the building you are in now has a huge hole in the wall. It is so immersive. The campaign is akin to a blockbuster movie more so than a huge adventure, but thats how fps games are in todays industry. Anyone saying this experience is less than an 8 needs to stop basing their review on how well they play online and start basing it on the game itself. BF3 is sure to be the top contender for shooters this year. i give it a 10 simply because it lives up to all it was said to be, which is all most gamers ask for. Great work DICE Expand

I feel ignorant. Battlefield 3's campagin was the problem. However, the multiplayer was were it really shines. I would double the score as it has a strong coop and great online multiplayer. The graphics are good, but it's not really a Battlefield of hell... but if your a campaign fan, don't buy this, but your average gamer; I'd buy this 60 dollar game just for the online mode.

For this being the first time for me buying into a Battlefield game, it was a good investment. Being jets, tanks and helicopters. Much the same as CoD, but that comes with a game like this.

I did however find campaign very...... cliche and typical. I found it however a more "realistic" experience to an "actual" war experience unlike CoD's multiple rail shooter sequences and constant slow mo explosion actions. It just lacked the story needed to make it a good campaign. I did however enjoy the character development they managed with the multiple characters they jumped to. Unlike the many characters which die in other games, i somewhat felt sad by the soldier who was executed, this may have been because of the circumstance.
Overall, its a great game with an awesome multiplayer experience.

Battlefield 3 has a great multiplaer too it but it does have its problems which let it down. The spawn system in the online game is a huge problem as you either appear too far away from your opponents or too close. Another problem is that they really downsized the maps which is a great shame! The whole fun of Battlefield Bad Company 2 ws that you were always on edge, not knowing where your opponent might be, and always had great fun exploring, thus eliminating "camping". There isn't that much of it in Battlefield 3 but it's becoming more frequent within the game as compared to its predecessor where it's virtually non-existant. Going on to positives tho, the graphic updates they have added to the game really is immense. Also a major plus for the game is the upgrade of vehecles available to you and your teammates and that they have all upgraded health so it's no longer possible to simply shoot 1 rocket or detonate 2 C4's and expect easy points. Overall I Give this game a very fair 9/10 and hope DICE keep up the good work! Expand

I have to disagree with the previous review of Chickencantgowi. To base a review on a game on "how good or in his case bad one plays" is ridiculous. The platoon system for example is a great tool to find players that want to play more tactically... If you dont use the tools you are given properly it is not the fault of the game.

I have to disagree with the previous review of Chickencantgowi. To base a review on a game on "how good or in his case bad one plays" is ridiculous. The platoon system for example is a great tool to find players that want to play more tactically... If you dont use the tools you are given properly it is not the fault of the game.

    New Players:
It might be a little bit frustrating for people who are just buying it now as there are so many people who unlocked the better weapons already, but if you get through that you will find a great multiplayer experience with great graphics, awesome sound and tactical gameplay. Maps:
Maps are huge in conquest but you can feel your pulse raising when a sniper bullet whizzes over your head. There are so many "Battlefield moments" I experienced, too many to list. The destructable environment makes each match (even on the same map) unique... it is really stunning to be in a safe house and moments later the roof drops on your head... Also the balance between wide open and small alley maps is great. The only map that does not work out too good is Operation Metro (from the beta) because of the bottle neck.

    Vehicles:
The ground vehicles are very easy to handle and the special unlocks are great... Jets & Helicopters are harder to master but with practice you will do fine with them too.

    Weapons:
A great variety of weaponry is at your disposal. Is is really motivating to unlock weapons and then unlock the accessories. There are so many weapons in this game and each one feels different. Sniping is a little bit harder to master as you have to compensate for bullet drop, but once you got the jist of it, it is really addictive to be victorious in a sniper duel.

    Leveling & Experience:
For each action you do you will get XP. I like the fact that you get the same amount of XP for reviving a teammate as for killing a enemy. Repairing, resupplying ammo, healing teammates and spotting enemies will give you XP. A very motivating and rewarding system. Back to Karkand DLC:
The DLC is a great addition to the already extensive package you get with the game alone. Battlefield veterans will feel homy as a few of the best MP maps of Battlefield 2 (not Bad Company 2) are available now in an updated version. Campaign:
Sadly, the campaign is not as good as other shooters on the market. I found the pacing a little bit too slow and the destruction is not used as good as in Bad Company 2. But Battlefield always was a multiplayer game first...

    Tools outside the game:
Battlelog is a great statistic tool that comes free of charge with the game. It is extremely lucid and you can follow your stats with ease. You also can join a platoon which makes it very easy to find players that want to play tactically.

Despite the medicore campaign (which I kind of expected) the multiplayer of BF3 is one of the best experiences you will have. It is more realistic (for a video game) than its competitors and very rewarding. Running & gunning wont take you far, a tactical approach will give you the edge over your enemies. The great quality of the DLC adds to the total package. Overall I have to give this masterpiece a 10/10.

From the network issues when playing either the campaign (I know right?) to the insistent "unable to connect to server please try again" when playing multiplayer are very frustrating when all I want to do is blow stuff up. For me my biggest complaint is the lack of balance in the matches I mean who the heck wants to go against a level 45 (or higher) when your a level 12?! Not only are they superior to playing they have unlocked weapons that make yours look like a pea shooter. while yes you have the camp that claims this is a good thing, for the causal player it detracts from the enjoyability of the game. As a final note I am not a COD fanboy and played BF2 for a very long time and is a game I very much enjoyed. PROS:
    Graphics
leveling system with lots of stuff to earn and unlock

    CONS:
no balance system in the matches (level 1 vs level 45)
    network issues galore

Such a bad game. They took everything from the other games and made it somehow even worse. The only difference is that they are trying to disguise it with 'good' graphics. The frame rate is measly 30 frames per second. MW3s frames per second is 60! Battlefield just tries to gloss everything over to disguise its bad gameplay.

I absolutely love this game! Campaign mode was good, but it's all about the Multiplayer. Its a very immersive experience due to its sound (possible the best I've seen (or heard...) so far). Going from gun fire and huge explosions with building crumbling around you, to complete eerie silence and back again. FANTASTIC!

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game was meant for the PC. if i could give this rating a 7.5 i would. when your buying the 360 or PS3 version your just buying down a stale watered down version of the PC version. What i mean by that is the maps on Consoles have been reduced in size, vehicles, and of course the big let down in my opinion, the 24 soldier count in the games. The Conquest on some maps (say Caspian border for example) is too big for the 24 soldier count, and the soldiers a spread too thin. The leader boards may have a top of 10 to 12 kills at the most for the top player which is very uneventful for a BF game. but this is only for Conquest. there are still other game modes. Rush is the one i mainly play on 360 because the maps are not as large and there is two objectives close to eachother everyone goes to, too destroy and defend, which is alot better and more fun since all they players are closer together. The game is well balanced in my opinion, and i have had no problem with servers or lag (except on release day but hey its EA what did you expect?) overall i think this game was made mainly for the PC and MAINLY for multiplayer. The campaign isnt terrible, but compared to the Bad Company campaigns was not very pleasing, considering that those had characters you tend to grow on, considering they had actual LINES and some of them humorous. BF3 campaign you barely got to know the characters, and when they passed away (SPOILER) you felt no sympathy and shrugged them off. But in my opinion BF3 was made for multiplayer, and was made for the pc. if this was a PC review i would give a 9/10 but sadly, it isnt. Expand

No game before this one has actually caused me painful eyestrain. To add to your inability to see is a screen blur when shot at and between the three you may as well play with your eyes closed in a lot of cases. More inconvenient is the menu. I could argue it's scientificly designed to be as unfriendly as a spiked sex toy. It's nothing like the old menu and if you want any kind of information on these random seemingly unknown weapons they pulled out you have to go to an even more cluster***** menu to get vague descriptions on what something does. Along with other call of duty features is the spawn killing (just died 8 times in a row in the only spawn available to me.) And the fact that a gun is never seen firing at you. Every death seems to occur from behind. I'm thinking stark industries has added some teleporters to directly behind me because no enemy has yet to NOT shoot me in the back or directly to my side. It's full of what you like in a call of duty er... battlefield game, but still atrociously inconvenient in seemingly every way. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Oh boy, where do I start. Well, first off marketing. What you saw in the trailers is not what you get. The game is not good looking like in the trailers, neither is it fun. The graphics on the console version are horrible. I see flashing green screens, artifacts, you name it. The HUD in vehicles will disappear from time to time, making shooting impossibly hard. Spawn killing is too easy, especially in jets. AA locations are horrible, jets and helicopters regenerate flares too fast, when I shoot a missile at one, they immediately use flares and by the time I fire my second one, the flares are already back in the air. The map design is horrible, less destruction compared to BF BC2. Hardcore is not hardcore. Five m249 shots to the back do not seem to stop an enemy. When you manage to somehow magically get past the flares from jets, you get the message "Vehicle Disabled" on the screen. Well holy mother **** **** the jet turns around and shoots me. Really? I thought it was disabled. Disabled vehicles should not work like they're factory new. I think this game is a horrible mash up of Medal of Honor (2010) and BF:BC2. The campaign is as much of a blast as on Medal of Honor. It is not fun at all, it makes me want to shoot myself. Too many quick time events, nothing exciting happens and it is confusing as hell. The ending is what bothers me the most. It is the worst ending ever. All you do is press A or B with some RB in there and you have a **** fight with the enemy to stop a nuke in the center of New York. Also, where are the French soldiers? Typical shooter, you go in to a foreign country, but its only USA vs. Russia. The tanks in the game are trash. Somehow you can drift with them while you use the turbo boost. That is right, turbo boost. What a stupid idea. On the map Damavand Peak, there is a tunnel and on top of it there is a small mountain. If you even fly close to the mountain, you automatically commit suicide, even when you dont touch it. Too often in the game, somehow, I commit suicide while in either a jet or a helicopter and this is all at random times. If you think the game will be easy on multiplayer right off the bat, it is not. I got this game 1 month later than others and Jesus Christ is it bad. You start off with horrible weapons and gadgets, there is no way the beginning will be easy. You have to be lucky to even get a kill with your weapon. There is much more. Do not think I am a MW3 fan, MW3 is a big piece of fecal matter. I think DICE took the plunger to their **** on this game, they have pulled a "CoD" on me: they become famous, so they release a game that is waited world wide. This would MoH. MoH is the MW2 from dice and BF3 is the MW3. I think I will stick to BF:BC2, since it is fun. Oh, did I mention this game is bad? I could not even install it on my PC! I bought the game originally for my 1.5k gaming PC that was purpose built for gaming. All games run 100% error free, max settings. BF3 is a different story. I start the installation process and immediately I am greeted by an error. I managed to get to the main menu, when the game suddenly crashed and got an error. I think I had to battle through 50 errors to get to the game, just to be put down by another one. I returned it and got the 360 version. I do not recommend this game. Expand

so, online is basically the best fps experience you can have today, great graphics, balanced guns and vehicles, and nothing seems "cheap". games can last up to 45 minutes which is just amazing and winning a game that goes that long just adds more fun to it. Also each game is different since dice gives you a huge map, and lots of possibilities to go through those maps (except the 3 maps that are more close quartered, dont get me wrong they are still fun just a little more call of duty ish). focus on teamwork is key in this game, so when you get that lone sniper complaining how bad the game is, its because hes just in it to get kills for himself, and isnt actually playing the game the way it should be played. Rush is a great gamemode and so is conquest, the others i dont really care about because they play on a smaller scale, and that is not why I buy battlefield games.

Just stellar. If you are a veteran of the Battlefield, do not deprive yourself of the latest installment. As usual, Dice has nailed the intangibles. This just "feels" like war. To quote a friend, "If you want to run around and shoot people play Call of Duty. If you want to be dropped in the middle of a war movie, play Battlefield".

BF3 does have it's problems, most of them nothing more than annoyances (For instance, you cannot leave a game between rounds), and we all know EA's track record with updates, but so far they seem dedicated to fixing issues and supporting the game.

    Just go buy it already.

As far as control wise, I found it quick and easy to pick up and play and get into. Heck my 13 year old son mastered it in a week. All in all this is a well rounded game and if there is to be a part 4, they should learn from their mistakes and focus on the campiagn levels as much as they do the multi-player. Expand

The Multiplayer carries the same flag every Battlefield has with the Class system. You have 4 classes to choose from, all containing their own unique traits. Most people tend to take a liking to a certain class, but I recommend using all 4. The maps are HUGE. You'll spend half the time traveling across a huge landscape in one of BF3's many vehicles. They other half you spend strategically killing opponents. And I mean strategically. You will have to adjust if you come from Run and Gun shooters. BF3 also adds a Cooperative mode, where you and one friend can team up on AI enemies. Its fun, although I wish there was more than 6 missions. Campaign, ah Campaign. Im not really sure how to react to this, considering there isnt really a story. Its more like several missions with a short 5min cutscene. In fact there isnt even an ending to the Campaign, it just cuts to black with no conclusion. Aside from this BF3 is a great Multiplayer game, worth the $60. Expand

I like Battlefield 3, but it is a more strategic experience, which is great. The maps are gigantic, so there isn't constant shooting. Not to say that there isn't intense moments - there is plenty. Compared to MW3 (or any other Call of Duty since 4) there is almost zero customization. You don't know how badly I want a rocket launcher in my Assault Rifle loadout, but it isn't allowed and that's part of the strategy. This latest Battlefield has also added many new character animations, and some are pretty cool. The ones that interfere with gameplay are so not cool. When going prone (new ability), there is a fairly lengthly animation during which time you are unable to fire your weapon. Getting up from the prone position is even worse. I get whacked about 50% of the time that I use the "prone" function. The uber-touchy right stick (360) activates the function, sometimes whether you want it to or not. It makes me so mad I could swallow my tongue. Battlefield 3 does many, many things right and it's a great looking game. I just play it when I'm in the mood, the thing is I'm usually in the mood for Call of Duty. Expand

The story line was okay, yes its about nuclear bombs about to destroy America but its told in an original way. The voice acting was amazing and you often felt like you really were in the military(except on your couch), which probably was the developers first goal. I would pay about 5-10$ for the campaign. Co-op: great; fun, hard but wish their was more to it, I wish that the campaign was just one giant co-op experience with maybe four people. I would pay 10$ but would pay a lot more if it was longer.
Extras: The destruction, the audio and the graphics were amazing, would have liked to see more character customization but hey, cant complain. +5$

The brand new Frostbite 2 engine makes the game seem almost like you're in a war, with the lighting and destructible environment and the massive scale of the environment around you. The multi-player makes up for the campaign as it offers hours worth of unlocking, instead of simply restarting the player 15 times. I have been playing as the engineer class the entire time and it took about 20 hours of playing time to unlock all weapons and gadgets. And after that 20 hours and receiving approximately 212 score per minute i have unlocked that, so it does take a long time to unlock. There is also many unlocks for many different things. About 12-18 weapon accessories(number of accessories depend on the weapon) for 53 different types of weapons, 10-16 unlocks(also depending on the vehicle) for 24 different vehicles. Also the battles seem more like wars, especially conquest. The player can be in one area of the massive maps and not even know the battles going on around them. While the infantry fights on the ground the jets are in massive dogfights above. For example, when playing conquest on Caspian Border, one fireteam(squad) may be holding a position and get dozens of kills for each player while the rest of the platoon is fighting for control of the other positions. Teamwork is also a major factor for Battlefield. It doesn't matter if your team is just a four man squad or if the entire 32 player team(for conquest on PC only) are working together you will succeed. Battlefield also offers players more things, just two months into the games release they are already offering a DLC with four maps ten weapons and three vehicles. Overall i would give battlefield 9/10 only because the campaign wasn't the best it could have been but all other aspects of the game are fantastic. i hope this helps anyone thinking about buying this game Expand

First off, multiplayer is massively addicting and satisfying. It is without a doubt one of the best looking games I've played in a while. I found the multiplayer to be a great improvement over Bad Company 2, with added in-depth customization, unlockables, jets and many other additions. The new maps also look beautiful, and feature a lot of interesting terrain. The destruction of terrain at times seems to be a step back from BFBC2, and there are a few balance issues, however DICE has been working to correct them. There is also the occasional glitch, but not enough to detract from the captivating gameplay that Battlefield 3's multiplayer offers.

For the campaign, the game is sub-par. It features an intestesting story, however it is somewhat poorly-executed. Plentiful quicktime events plague the game, as well as AI that is at times unfair and unfun to play against. I was disappointed that there was barely any use of vehicles, as for me that is a strong point in Battlefield's trademarked gameplay. On the plus, the campaign looks absolutely stunning with some impressive visuals thanks to a brand new graphics engine.

Overall, BF3 is a great multiplayer offering and how I feel true war-FPS multiplayer SHOULD be played. The campaign is a let-down, but don't let that keep you from buying this game. Totally worth it!

When you get there, you are either going to get sniped or gunned down by a tank. Oh, of course, huge map, small number of player (24 on a map designed for 60+? really? ), lots of running, not much shooting -> you get the picture. I mean come on. How can anybody play a shooter game where you have maps, where you can hardly even see 9 enemy players, let alone kill them? Small maps:
Just a few words to describe the feeling. Mortar, prone, camping, lens flare, dust, tanks (you simply have to have tanks on small maps ). Isn't this the recipe of enjoyment? Well, it may be, but not for me. Rubbish game.

So, I bought BF3 and haven't been able to put it down (so much that I haven't gone out to buy MW3). The game looks great for an adaptation from PC to Console (which won't be at its best til the next gen of consoles come out). Campaign mode is the only place I felt it lack on. Now I don't mean I didn't like the single player just that it felt like it missed something. Overall the graphics, story, game play were great. Multiplayer is what I really got this game for, a change from MW. What's great about it is the fact that this is a team game. Of course you can run and gun as a loner but the fun is working in your squad. If you can join or make a squad and if you work together you can destroy anything in your path. Also the vehicles are great no more kill streaks to get a helo that you don't fly. There's nothing better than to bring a tank to a gun fight or to blow up a building with the enemy in it. If you want a great MP experience definitely pick this game up. If you are only interested in the Campaign just rent it. Expand

I played Crysis recently, a port of a 4 year old PC game, it has massive outdoor levels and vehicles and one thing BF3 does not have GREAT graphics. Battlefield 3 does not even have average graphics, I am not sure what the technical term is but when I am running around everything seems to shimmer sort of like a next gen version of Jaggies which makes it hard to pick out enemies, then there is also the fact that its impossible to see anything due to the terrible lighting everything is either way too bright or way too dark and so much screen tearing it has more in common with the first games released at the start of this console cycle rather than the end. Its actually funny that they make the menu screens (Which are also terribly designed) blurry when you navigate them, are they implying that the terrible in game graphics are also a design choice. Also why is there no option to leave straight after a game ends? And the Kill cam or what ever the hell that is useless and annoying just let me respawn straight away I donâ Expand

The only exciting missions were when you played as the Russians. The characters were not strong enough to make a deep connection with. The coop was fun, but not that many missions. The coop can be beaten in 2 hours on the hardest difficulty. There was really no story to it, but it was fun to play with a friend. The online like i said earlier is great. Battlefield 3 is a fun game. With that said, let me talk about its cons since we all no about its pros. 1. First off, the campaign is not very original or good for that matter. The plot is extremely one dimensional and leaves no surprises. 2. This game was over hyped. Again, THIS IS A VERY GOOD GAME PLEASE DON'T KILL MY FAMILY, FAN BOYS. Although the multiplayer game play is solid and the graphics/ physics are stellar, the game play is just too slow and repetitive for many gamers. Some of Battlefield's elements act as a double edged sword, such as destruction, which although is freeking awesome, makes many maps feel the same, taking away variation from the game. In addition, the main game play formula just doesn't really appeal to the average casual gamer. That being said, this game is still great and will be a staple for hardcore gamers, and for casual gamers, this will be a great game to go to a few times a week. I definitely recommend buying this if you have the money. If you don't have the money, don't feel obliged to get it.

Now on the the multiplayer... Which should have been the reason you played any Battlefield games to begin with. Its outstanding. It sets the new standard for what military style multiplayer should be. Some of the maps are just a bit smaller than Battlefield Bad Company 2, but its hardly anything to complain about. The maps are still the biggest in the genre. There is something for everybody. If you like run and gun style much like call of duty play death match, but careful that wall your hiding behind probably wont be there very long unlike other games. If you want team based play conquest and take full advantage of the epic maps, vehicles and destruction as you see fit. The realism here is topped only by games like America's Army. I've been playing FPS games since Wolfenstien and Doom on PC, from all the big names, Medal of Honor, Rainbow 6,Call of Duty, Ghost Recon to name a few. BC2 was a decent game, but it had fundamental flaws and felt like the second half had been rushed in time for release, but it had the whole destructible cover going for it which added to the realistic experience - something that I hoped would be added and improved upon in BF3. Thankfully EA and it's Digital Illusions Creative Entertainment division delivered, and ultimately gets my vote over it's rival MW3 - albeit only just, simply because of the more realistic element it employs during the campaign. From both a graphical and gameplay stance.

Saying that though BF3 certainly isn't flawless. Screen tearing shows it's ugly face, along with a number of occasions where the frame rate suffers, but for the most part it is a pretty solid effort. Presentation wise as you'd expect with anything EA related it certainly delivers, along with an atmospheric soundtrack which keeps you gripped from beginning to end. On a personal note I enjoyed the campaign, although it was a little short and too dark to see what was going on at times, but I don't really see why it has been widely criticized so much. As first person shooters go it has to be one of the best of this generation, and would be almost perfect if they could just iron out a few niggles here and there.

They know what they are and thats a MP experience and if you wanna try support the single player, then you obviously haven't played any other proper single player experience this year as the market is littered with better experiences. Now back to battlefield 3, i'll start with a list of innovations in gameplay and graphics.... The destruction system, while flawed and not red faction, its still really immersive and realistic. Terrain deformation, bit of wall flying off wen trying to hide.... its insane who good it looks. I mean I see a bunch of enemies hold up in one area, fire a rocket above them and the building falls and kills them all. Like wow! It brings new levels of realism and immersion to the experience. The animation system they built is incredible, characters die, move, shoot, you name it, they do it so realistic its makes you stop a marvel at the true innovation they've incorporated here. Vehicles looks amazing, firing a tank in a wooded area and all the trees bend to the shockwave of the force from the cannon.... WHAT GAME DOES THIS! So amazing to watch. Small little innovations to gameplay also to balance the experience are implemented like flashlight blindings, laser sights so blind snipers out of their camping poistion, not to mention the lense flare if the sniper point in scope at you specifically. All these little things help push the genre forward. The sound in this game is unrivaled by ANY game. Just amazing, I feel like I'm in a real battlefield from start to finish of a map and it truly shows what can be done these days. This is the game you show to non-gamers to show them how far games have come and how much room for improvement a lot of games need to make to even come close to competitive with this great title. Tons of customisations and unlocks will make you constantly come back. Worth every buck of your money. Fantastic gameplay, breathe taking visuals and world class multiplayer will make you craving for more Expand

I'll start by saying that the Battlefield franchise is very new at this concept of a good Campaign. If this game were just campaign I would be giving this game a 6 at best. The real attraction is the multiplayer. No one does this task of creating grand battles better than DICE. Don't come in expecting an arcade style shooter like what Call of Duty presents. Battlefield 3 presents a modern Battlefield and lets you run rampant in whatever seems necessary. Best multiplayer experience of the year. Lacks campaign but you don't even need to try it if you don't want to. Expand

This is my first go-around with the Battlefield franchise, and overall, it met my expectations: the gunplay mechanics are quite good in BF3 and the story is short and irrelevant (and what's up with the quick time events?! Who decided one day that performing such actions are fun and necessary to core gameplay?). It took but four or five hours for my conquering of BF3's campaign. Who decided one day that performing such actions are fun and necessary to core gameplay?). It took but four or five hours for my conquering of BF3's campaign. That's a bad time, even for n64 games. However, the game delivers what it promises with each new installment: a deep multiplayer experience. Though, I would love to see 64 player deathmatches come to my beloved 360. However the game is somewhat limited to what Microsoft can currently offer. Thanks, Bill Gates. Besides that little pipe-dream, the multiplayer is more than solid, and should keep any competitive player happy for a long while. So if the multiplayer is great, why give it an eight (rhymes)? Because I'm a COD fan...kidding, I'm just kidding. I love the fact that the game reaches out to a special group of gamers who are interested in strategy rather than run&gun tactics. However, I think that the time spent on BF3's campaign mode could have been used to create an even better online experience. The only negative views the critics had to offer was that BF3's campaign sucked. I guarantee that the game would have gotten higher ratings across the board if the campaign didn't exist. It only served to show a chink in the armor.
If you love games like Bioshock for narrative purposes only, sit this one out. But if you are a FPS fan looking for some deep competition (current owners of BF3, I was the guy you tromped several times) pick this one up! It comes in 2 disc format, one for campaign and one for online matches. So basically, for $60 you can play BF3 online weekdays and play Frisbee with the dog on weekends. BOOM. Everyone is happy!

Okay where to start. The campaign is average at best, but I don't play these games for the campaign. Multiplayer plays just like BF2 but there is now prone. Graphics are way overhyped for consoles, but from what I'm seeing online the PC graphics are extreme! I enjoy BF3 but I like playing MW3 more.

Some people may call me a fanboy but i don't think so. With BF 3 things changed. The multiplayer is fantastic. It is a great change of pace from the run and gun approach from Halo, Cod and Gears. playing with friends is brings a tactical advantage Like have on guy use a laser painter for everyone to lock on and all the things you can unlock are surprising. You can spend entire games flying helicopters or jets, or driving a tank. the sniping is the most realistic out of any game none of the so called "quickscoping" with a .50 cal rifle which would dislocate your shoulder. I could play an entire game just rolling around as an EOD robot. Even with all the annoying little things like mortaring from your spawn where no one can kill you and a game where everyone on the other team snipes or everyone on your team is in your spawn waiting for Jets, i think this game deserves a 9.0 and if the campaign was better, probably the only place COD beat BF, it would get a 10 from me. it is a weird feeling when you stop to admire the sun reflecting off the dust in the air, ending shortly by some sort of weapon killing you. There is also a satisfaction from getting someone else's dog tag from sneaking behind them. BF gives an experience no other Modern FPS can give you where you can shoot a hole in a building above some one and having the destruction killing them, rain hell from above in a aircraft or just blow **** up in a tank the mechanics of all of which are just difficult enough that you can't be invincible in any of them. If anyone is still reading this you have great patience, patience that can go along way in Battlefield Expand

Most people don't realize the effort put into battlefield to make it perfect. The multiplayer is outstanding and there is a lot of content. The single player is ok. Honestly, I didn't buy this game for that reason. It's limiting, but it shows off the impressive frostbite 2 engine. The length of the campaign is about 6 hours, which is about 2 hours longer than call of duties new game. Still, multiplayer is where it's at. Conquest is my favorite mode and in my opinion the most balanced. Battlefield 3's multiplayer alone is worth the price of admission. I highly recommend it. Expand

If you're looking for a great single player campaign you're out of luck, rent BF3 or pick it up in the bargain bin. If you're looking for the best online multiplayer action then BF3 is your game hands down.

While Battlefield 3 was aiming to be the biggest name this holiday season, and while it has made strides towards knocking off Modern Warfare 3, it misses the mark. That's not to say it is a bad game, it's a very good one, but the polish and excitement that is found on the Call of Duty series feels missing here. Still, there are much worse games you could end up with this holiday season, and the competition between the two series should heat up significantly in the next few years.

This experience alone sums up what Battlefield 3 is about. It isn't a John Rambo run and gun shooter and it shouldn't really be compared to MW3 in terms of how you play it. For players to truly understand the Battlefield experience you need to embrace the teamwork by joining a squad and calling out your spotted enemies, as after all, sometimes you also need your back covered too.
