The gameplay here is the new gold standard for adventure games.

This game really makes BOTW look like a beta, TOTK is just that fleshed out. You could play this game for hundreds of hours and still have stuff to do. The Zelda team once again shows that they are the best in the industry.

I have to say It, it's hard to give a 10 cause this mean we reached the perfection but I have to give It because it deserves for everything, for the music, the story, bossfights and other particularis, onestly it's the real and best sequel I just played for the Legend of Zelda (even my favourite one is Ocarina of Time) but I will give a solid 10!

Good game, better than BOTW in every aspect. I loved the story and the boss fights aren't all the same
like in BOTW. Also the dungeons are a lot better, because they have variety. There is only one flaw: You can't PET dogs.

This game truly is a masterpiece. The story is told in a way where the player can follow along in Link’s own perception, uncovering what actually happened slowly until it all falls into place. The whole game felt smooth even though you can get lost for hours from just seeing one thing that catches the eye, and you still feel engaged to Link’s path.

Even though I feel like I've only scratched the surface about this games mechanics and world, TOtK takes BOtW and expands upon it while also making the game feel almost completely fresh. Although I do wish the main world was a complete new map, I understand Nintendo was experimenting and thankfully with the sky world and other new locations allows the game to feel fresh enough.

Regarding fps, yes the game runs at 30fps but then again so do many other switch games... so instead of critiquing the game, critique the switch. TOtK runs shockingly well with only minor lag spikes when opening up your ultrahand and the cell shaded art allows the game to look stunning.

One serious critique I do have with the game though is HOW HARD THE FONTS ARE TO READ SOMETIMES... Instead of keeping UI menus the same from BOtW... TOtK decides to make more light coloured ui elements with also brighter fonts requiring me to squint my eyes to fully read certain things on the screen.

Back to positives, TOtK expands on combat from BOtW by allowing you to fuse things to your equipment to add extra offense or defense. Sadly you can't unattach these things without destroying the object that is attached to it but I think thats to prevent people from taking heavy objects easily across the map by simply attaching it to a shield or something.

TOtK is well worth the investment as much as BOtW was back in 2017. If you enjoyed BOtW you will definitely enjoy it's sequel near to the same amount or even greater.

Mejor soundtrack que el primer juego

Mejor batalla final, Aunque no era tan difícil, superar eso.

Mejor Mapa Aunque es el mismo & Exploración.

    Mejores habilidades

The legend of zelda tears of the kingdom es todo lo que debio ser Breath of the wild.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom takes everything its predecessor did right, and made it better. Fantastic dungeons, fun bosses and an insane finale are all things this game did right. It felt longer than Breath of The Wild but never dragged on. The Demon King Ganondorf boss fight really had me on the edge of my seat and before the final battle, when you had to fight all of those enemies had me smiling all the way. However the best thing about this Game of The Year is easily, Sidon returns. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. A mediocre expansion of botw.
I will start by saying botw was also not a 10/10 game by any means.I olayed it for 150 hours and after the first 25 it felt the whole game was on a loop.
Every negative i will list here is present in both games.Makes sense since they used the exact same assets making TOKT.So here we go :
1.Behind everything theres a korok.900 in one 1000 in the other. Its so discouraging knowing the bad reward before you do anything.
2.Shrines interior is the same and you got 120 of them in botw and 150 in totk.Again repetitiveness on its finest.
3.Map besides shrines and koroks basically only has bokolin camps with sometimes no reward at all.
4.Cooking is tedious and boring.Btw you still cant have quick items. If you need to heal during battle you have to pause enter menu chose food and chose to eat it….
5.Towns dont offer much content and there are 1-2 worthy side quests.
6.Weapons brake and you lose interest fast.Fuze is a pain. You need 7 moves to fuze two owned weapons:open menu , pick weapon , throw it , pick ability fuze , open weapon menu chose weapon , chose fuze…
7.Divine beasts like the rest of the game is on repeat. They all are the same , same as the new “dungeons“ 8.Battle is poor and uninteresting.

Critics and fans never talked about these of course and they still dont. How can such a terribly repetitive game be a 10 ? Well its a zelda thats how.

Totk is an even worse position since its the exact same game with some add ons.It basically a meme game now where you minecraft structures and post videos of goofing around. Theres no game out there with such map but empty of meaningful things to do.The map is empty of any essence.
I would rate this a 7 for the sake of some new players that experience it for the first time.BUT giver the many suspicious 10s it gets to counterbalance them its a 0.

I do wish the combat was deeper but the new mechanics make it fun. You're actively playing through the story which was much needed.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game is ok. The building mechanic is really shoved down your throat. The quests are uninspired and there is a lot of collect 50 of this find 50 of that just to bloate the game. The depths is extremely boring and lackluster and the sky island are almost non-existent. The four first temples are the same mechanic with a different skin, and the last tempel is some of the worst game design I have ever seen where you take all the stuff you have worked for and ignor it to ride one a robot. This hase to be the worst boss fight on Zelda history. The game is nothing more than an overpriced DLC for Breath of the wild.

The contorls are mostly locked the only thin you can change is switching the sprint and jump button but this also changes all the funktions of the buttons so everything mapped to B is now X and vice versa. The button funktionaloty isn't consistent across the game B is sprit on foot A is sprint on Horseback and X is dash in water I don't understand why they couldn't keep it the same button.

This game does not feel like a sequel at all, nor is it trying to be in my opinion. Instead, I think the best way to describe it is as a soft remake and retcon of botw with some improvements and additions. I guess if you never played botw, great for you, but not for me cuz I’m basically just replaying :(. If it existed in a vacuum or a world where botw was never a thing, I think it would deserve all the 10/10 praise. But the reality is botw is its predecessor, and it borrows far too much from it to feel fresh from my perspective. I felt such immense wonder in botw and my curiosity drove me to explore the map. Unfortunately, I do not feel this at all in totk. Probably because the surface is just too darn similar and the things you find too predictable. One issue many people had with botw was that when exploring most of the things you would discover would be koroks or shrines. Don’t get me wrong, I loved them, and at the time they felt fresh. But while totk adds many side quests and notable discoveries, a majority of the things you come across are still shrines and koroks. If I know most of what I’m going to find and discover it quickly loses all the magic, mystery, and fun. It just becomes a checklist of things to complete like some chore. The newer areas alone cannot make up for this issue. The sky islands are very small and barren, not to mention that many are straight-up copy-pasted. The depths, while at first glance looking interesting, have little incentive for exploration besides tedious resource farming. I was really hoping there would be large elaborate dungeons to come across, I think that would’ve felt amazing to discover. Unfortunately, the dungeons are structured just like the divine beasts, go to these five terminals and fight the boss, rinse, and repeat. I will say tho, the look, music, and uniqueness of each dungeon are amazing and a step in the right direction, but that alone does not make up for the lack of substance.

The story is another aspect of this game that feels incredibly barebones. There are major continuity issues from botw that break my immersion. For example, all the sheikah stuff is completely gone and it's never really explained. Npcs that interacted with Link in the previous game treat him like a total stranger. Hey I get it’s a game, and the devs might want to appeal to people who never played botw, but damn maybe a line or two referencing a previous interaction wouldn’t hurt. Now the Zonai, in my opinion, they’re just a reskin of the ancient Sheikah (an ancient technological/magically powerful tribe helps defeat the big bad). Now Zelda games do this all the time, there’s always some ancient powerful race whose power must be uncovered to help defeat Ganon. But something about the way the Sheikah and Zonai were handled just feels too half-assed, to the point where they just feel like a reskin of the Sheikah. Yet the game tries to gaslight you into thinking the Sheikah never happened by eliminating all traces of them. But to be honest I could’ve overlooked all that if it weren’t for the biggest offender in the game’s story, the Memories/Dragon Tears. In Botw I wasn’t the biggest fan of memories because it made the action feel like it was far away and done with. But they kinda made sense in the context of botw (it's post-apocalyptic and ur amnesiac). Totk reusing the same “memory” format to tell most of its story is such a waste, imagine how epic it would have been having more mainline story elements pan out as you’re playing the game.

The only thing in this game that I would say isn’t just another botw rehash reskin is the runes and building mechanics. They provide for some really silly moments and feel so fresh and fun in a game with so much repetition and monotony. But in my opinion, these mechanics alone do not elevate the game from a soft remake or dlc to the realm of a sequel. If only they would’ve taken the same kind of interesting approach for the other aspects of the game then it could’ve been a true successor to botw. Man, it really hurts to come to this conclusion I love the Zelda series and I especially loved Botw, but this just is not it. Also f u nintendo for buying out all these review companies for perfect 10s, false advertising fr.

    Long Part:
First off, I'd like to say- this game is amazing. A lot of the features of the game are subjective, such as the building and the way they game is. Others have commented that it's a "rehashed" or just another DLC don't really see some of the sights of the game, or have commented that this isn't a Zelda game. On top of the BOTW map, the new areas increases the map size by at least x2.5. As a result of this, it's easy to get sidetracked in the game, which makes it almost impossible to always stay on one path. The developers have been able to successfully add some new dungeon aspects to the game, which makes solving puzzles much more entertaining than tedious. The new abilities (especially building) allow for a lot more creativity, and whether it be a good or bad thing, you can almost always find an unintended way to finish something. The story, if you like that sort of thing, has more impact that BOTW's story (subjectively of course) which always is a good thing. One problem is the framerate drops every once in a while based on the location, but the best solution I've had if it happens often is to restart my switch. Based on the size of the game, I'm completely surprised that it can even run on the Switch, but the frame drops are sometimes very noticeable. Anyways, I hope this helps anyone who is considering buying the game.

I wish they would have changed more of the landscape but then again keeping the land the same as the previous game is a nice change from Nintendo. Last but not least, one thing to remember is when you create such an amazing game, you will always have those haters trying to gain clout by trashing it, deep down they know they absolutely love this game.

Holy this page is full of terrible user reviews, some saying the game is just a dlc and others with the stupidest of complaints.

First of all yes the game reuses the same surface map, although it’s not the same, for example all of the lava in death mountain is gone for the most part, and none of the towers and shrines from the previous game are there anymore. Tears of the kingdom map is easily DOUBLE the size of breath of the wild’s map, the game has new caves, sky islands, and a completely new map called the depths which goes through all the underground of hyrule, so no it’s not just the same map, it’s double the size.

The gameplay is not the same, all of the old abilities have been replaced with new ones that are more useful and fun to use such as the ultra hand which allows you to build all sorts of things, or a new ability that allows you to combine items which can be used to make a flamethrower spear.

The towers and shrines do return however, but the shrines are a lot more fun to complete and doesn’t feel much like a chore anymore, with the new abilities the game allows you to complete the puzzles in multiple creative ways and it’s not as repetitive like in Breath of the wild. You no longer have to climb all the towers to unlock the map, instead it’s a mini side quest that takes around a minute or 2 to complete, and once you’ve done it the tower launches you high in the air which is useful to explore the sky islands.

The dungeons are really well made and fun to explore, they are not like the traditional Zelda dungeons but me and my friend spent a couple hours taking turns solving the puzzles of the fire temple, and that convinced him to buy the game, it was a blast, although you still have to activate terminals to fight the boss (By the way the bosses are way better than botw). This game is so fun to play, and it’s definitely a worthy sequel of BOTW that improves in most of the aspects from the previous game.

Only real complaint is the frame rate, but that’s not a game issue, it’s a switch issue.

Tears of the kingdom is not a dlc, it’s a SEQUEL, a stand alone Zelda title and a must play.

It's a dlc disguised as a full price game that somehow managed to ruin the botw pacing entirely, as well as providing even worse graphics/art style and a story that felt hastily thrown together from whatever scraps they had lying around from botw.
It's sad that you get the better experience from the previous iteration of a game.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. People need to understand that this game is a direct sequel to the previous zelda, breath of the wild. Of course every sequel will try to maintain some aspects of the old one and bring new things in. And that's exactly what this game did. All the new mechanics are cool and change the perception of the world you had with BOTW. The dungeons are absolutely nice, a little short, but creative. Loved the thematic. The bosses surprised me, some of them are more Than "hit-the-eye-new-zelda-like". And the music is gorgeous, you can clearly hear the new themes and the old ones.

But my complaint is about the game being a direct sequel and doesn't connecting too much with BOTW, where are the divine beasts? All the sheikah tech and what's the relation to Calamity Ganon? Loved the story of this one, even though it felt like Ocarina Of Time 2, Ganondorf was the perfect villain.

One of the biggest problems is a lot of wasted time. There's tons of areas that you can struggle to get to, which offer no purpose. And countless chests that are a massive challenge to reach... all for 10 arrows. Many times you'll use up a lot more resources than you're gaining.
The boss fights are interesting, and not properly balanced. You still have the classic "use your new toy" approach, however some bosses are an absolute joke while others require pixel perfect reflexes.
As for the shrines, they're very samey. Most are pretty simplistic "puzzles" (mostly just busy work). Others you just walk in and grab your reward.
The graphics are pretty much the same as the first game. Slightly more detail in some things, but overall not much of a change. Which is fine.
The music is again, more of the same.
The world map hasn't really changed much. Same massive open areas of nothing with little points to obsess over (and then find only holds a chest with 10 arrows).
The game overall is fun, but it does get tedious. You will be spending countless hours doing the same thing in areas with slightly different graphics but the same general busy work. If you're OCD about completion, this will be problematic.

Just finished my first "temple" in the game while enjoying as much side content as possible. I would say I am about 15 hours in and I am comfortable giving my review. The first hour feels very similar to BOTW, which isn't a bad thing considering how great that game was, but I didn't understand the price tag.

    Then it happened...

After my 3rd "Shrine" on the starter area, I fully realized what Nintendo attempted and succeeded at doing: Making the game feel fresh by adding even more mechanics that make the game feel like YOUR game and yours alone.

I would feel comfortable giving this game a 10/10 just like my BOTW review. However, the same issues that I had with performance in BOTW (I looked past it then) are even more noticeable here. I am considering backing up the game from my switch so I can emulate it on my gaming PC, with little to no lag.

For that reason, I feel it is appropriate to dock this a few rating points. Nintendo...make a Switch Pro, or allow your games to be played on PC without console hacking or piracy. THANKS

Gameplay, level design are some of the best I’ve seen in any game in my life. It’s so damn fun and designed so smartly.

It's essentially BOTW all over again, with new and better gameplay mechanics, but the same issues and some reused map and enemies. For every new thing added, there's an old thing coming back, which makes TOTK a better and bigger game than BOTW, but kind of disappointing for a $70 sequel.

Still, the story is better, the open world is richer, and overall the gameplay is much more

If you've never played a zelda game, Tears of the Kingdom is a really good entry point, but I expected more from a sequel to 2017's GOTY, and this game got me thinking that maybe Nintendo should abandon the open world trend and make The Legend of Zelda linear again.

I wasn't sure how Nintendo would find a way to top their work in Breath of the Wild back when it came out, but I feel they have here – with years of more polish applied and refined exploration. [Issue #66 – July/August 2023, p. 71]

The good thing is that, thanks to the limited possibilities, the creators couldn't go crazy and swing for hundreds of game miles. Instead, they created what could be called Elden Ring in a travel pack. [Issue#328]

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has lived up to the high expectations created by the success of Breath of the Wild with its exquisitely intertwined gameplay systems, outstanding music, and a legendary story culminating in a magnificent denouement. It's not every day that such a special video game like this comes around. Truly the stuff of legend.
