    One of the best games available on ps5.
    Storyline much worse than previous game, I would say ridiculous in the end.
    but the game is awesome, great graphics, new mechanics, awesome open world with tons of things to do.

    This game is a masterpiece, I don't know why always reviewers underrate gorilla games but what I have experienced was beyond a masterpiece, don't look at weird ratings and reviews, enjoy this fantastic game. Also photo mode is insane and surpasses even naughty dog games !!

    One of my favorite open-world games of all time. It made me want to explore every corner of the map, complete every quest, and earn every trophy. And it looks so beautiful, it filled me with a childlike sense of wonder in the process.

    Absolutely an amazing game! Makes some key improvements over the first one in gameplay, graphics, and quality of both main missions and side missions. Enthralling story, cast of characters, with excellent combat, traversal, and graphics. A must play on PS5.

    Horizon Farbidden West is a masterpiece, but a masterpiece that contains small but tangible flaws Like limited and not very attractive platforming.     Bland story, generic characters, Aloy talks too much when exploring, was fun first maybe 10 hours then got repetitive, wouldn't recommend to be honest, only good thing is I got it on black Friday no where near worth 70 dollars

    Beautiful. Rich story, some sick side quests, nice combat, nice machines, good gameplay. Gorgeous. Though something is missing for me in comparison to Zero Dawn.. and backseat aloy is really annoying at times.

    Terrible combat no huntress fantasy after 30hrs and the game doesn’t open up. Melee is useless aloy gets ragdolled across the map. Not worth the money.

    Nearly Perfect. Voice acting breaks immersion. Gameplay is fast and exploration is fun. Story is enjoyable and the central mystery is engaging. My critique is when it’s supposed to be set in a harsh hunter gatherer wilderness, most of the men are portrayed as weak, making food, stitching clothes, when the females are the strong leaders and hunters.     Definitely a step down from the first game. In all fairness, that was to be expected because HZD was such a novel and original concept/idea that there was almost no way but down from that.

    HFW suffers from bland characters (with few exceptions), and a lackluster story that goes completely off the rails towards the end.     The story doesn't offer too many interesting elements. The most interesting one from HZD was Aloys backstory and the story of... well, the state the world is in, really. But that story has already been told, so what's left? Not too much besides adding "just one more bad thing" and clan wars. And the latter I couldn't care less about.

    Another issue is Aloy's writing. The way she acts towards a certain character we know from HZD makes no sense. Nothing that character has done warrants that treatment at that point in time. Furthermore, she keeps talking during gameplay, sometimes pretty much spelling out solutions to puzzles after less than a minute of looking around. Look, Aloy, I love you, but you need to shut up for a minute.

    The gameplay is largely the same, which is okay, I guess. More of the same.

    The new areas to explore are unfortunately rather forgettable. The only one I remember is the flooded underwater area you visit at some point during the story. The rest is also "more of the same" but in a different location.

    I didn't encounter too many bugs a few months or so after release, there was only a racing minigame that broke in a spectacular fashion, which was more funny than annoying. Performance was good, the 60 FPS mode is lovely. It's so smooth but looks beautiful at the same time. I hope all developers adopt this on console.

    Honestly, unless you're a die-hard fan of the world of Horizon and you're super interested in clan wars, you should probably skip this game or get it at a steep discount.    … Expand

Ich hab so oft wie in kaum einen anderen Spiel einfach in die Landschaft geschaut und gestaunt, wie gut das alles aussieht. Die Kämpfe machen auch wahnsinnig viel Spaß und die verschiedenen Maschinentypen und wie detailliert diese ausgearbeitet sind, lassen mich immer wieder staunen. Auch wenn mich der Aufbau der Open World nicht so sehr stört wie andere, für eine Fortsetzung würde ich mir ein ähnliches Konzept wie in Zelda BotW oder Elden Ring wünschen. Ich sehe trotz meiner hohen Wertung einfach noch viel Potenzial!… Expand

    Horizon Forbidden West é um bom jogo no geral. Apresenta alguns problemas com bugs e a dublagem, mas nada fora do comum para um jogo de mundo aberto. A história possui algumas inconsistências, mas ainda assim tem uma boa qualidade. O jogo acerta perfeitamente em construir um universo e dar vida a ele.

    Simplemente espectacular, el juego es hermosos de principio a fin mejora todo lo que Horizon Zero Down nos plantea y además mejora su sistema de habilidades y de armas. No obstante, a pesar de ser un mundo abierto te hace sentir limitado por momentos.

    Scontato, facile da finire, non mi ha lasciato niente. Insignificante più del primo che già mi aveva annoiato e avevo capito già come sarebbe andato a finire dopo qualche ora. Niente, delusione totale. You can't just sell good graphics if the story and the gameplay are pathetic.

    Gráficos sublimes con una jugabilidad perfecta. En mi caso, solo encontré uno o dos bugs menores de salida, por lo que los "fallos" de internet no me afectaron. El juego es lo más top en gráficos de la nueva generación. Su historia es menos intrigante que la del primero, pero no deja de engancharte y su mundo sigue siendo fascinante.

    Sehr gutes Spiel und ein Highlight auf der PS5. Die Story kommt nicht an Zero Dawn ran, der Rest ist aber Stimmig. Grafisch wäre mehr drin gewesen (PS5 Only), trotzdem ist es eine Wucht. Leider ist das Gameplay doch recht eintönig, da wäre etwas Lineares Storytelling besser gewesen. 9/10

    Yet another uninspired entry in the PlayStation catalogue. From a technical standpoint the game is good however the game itself is more of a reflection of the sorry state the industry is in. The game just feels like a lazy cash-grab that will appeal to the masses but does nothing to push the industry forward in a positive direction.

    Bad game compared to the first part. There were no required improvements. The story was more complicated in this part. It was supposed to clarify the problems that were in the previous part. I did not like this part, so I hope the third part will be better.

    Horizon Forbidden West evoluiu de forma magnífica, com lindos gráfico e uma ótimas mecânicas. A história também é muito boa, mas ainda prefiro a do Zero Down, por isso não é um jogo perfeito, mas ainda assim, muito acima da média.

    I liked this game more than I expected. As someone who did not enjoy the first game I was very positively surprised. The only issues I have with it are that I didn't want to actively explore the open world. I guess that it just didn't hook me like the worlds of Ghost of Tsushima or The legend of Zelda Breath of the wild did. Even when I unlocked an item that helped exploration greatly atI liked this game more than I expected. As someone who did not enjoy the first game I was very positively surprised.     La narrativa es buena, sin ser épica.

    Le doy un 9, porque faltó que la montura para volar (sunwing) pudiera atacar cuando la usamos.

    That being said, all the extra visuals and details make the combat a miserable experience. Especially when you play on a hard difficulty that makes it so that you can die at any moment. Get stuck on a small rock or twig? Dead. Got too close to a wall? You'll start climbing it and now you're dead. Fences, logs, rivers, rocks, and all sorts of other details that make the game visually amazing serve to destroy many of the combat encounters.

    If you don't play on a hard difficulty and you're into good story, this game is a 10. If you're like me and you're all about combat and challenge, you'll probably find this extremely frustrating.    … Expand

Mathijs de Jonge and Team out did them self's in this follow up to Zero Dawn - Guerrilla games take a bow Sony SIE are extremely lucky to have such an amazing team of developers - Another masterclass from a SIE studio, another masterpiece for sony's catalogue and another game of the year in my personal opinion.     Really nothing that great. The story and characters are super forgettable. I wish they’d focus on making it more of a game rather than a movie. I enjoy games with replay value but this has none. At the half way mark of this game it just felt like a chore to finish as it got boring. Visuals were the only good thing about this game but even then it doesn’t make up for the rest.     The Forbidden West is outstanding graphically and so well detailed.
    Aloy grow up like a character and the story is another big mistery that haunt you to search the answer.
    The enemies here are not a weak minded tribe that is deceived by an artifical intelligence, here the enemy is the MAN of the future with stronger weapons and mind; the sense of weakness of the character that use a bow against immortal soldiers with indestructible shields and cannons is BRILLIANT.
    The new machines are beautifiul and uniques and the gameplay finally evolved with new skill trees very detailed.
    All that was done in the first game is now not better, it reached nearly perfection.
    I don't give full score for that damn cliffhanger finale.    … Expand

    Horizon forbidden west is more bigger than better comparing to horizon 1. the plot and cinematic cutscenes are really good the story expands the scope and the universe of the game and introduces new enemies. even though the plot of horizon 1 was better imo I don't have any problem with the story and narrative of this game since it's good enough for an open world game.

    the graphics of this game is gorgeous and vibrant and it has a huge and varied world for you to explore.
    but the problems start with the core gameplay and missions which is bloated and sometimes boring. I still have serious problems with the core concept of this game which is fighting advanced robots using bow and arrows and a spear that doesn't deal much damage we are fighting huge robots not bears and wolves or something! most times I struggled to find the weak spots of the enemy robots and if you shoot non vulnerable parts of them it deals little to no damage and it annoys me. the game constantly makes you confused and each enemy is like a puzzle, some people might find this cool but it's actually very annoying so in some boss fights I had no choice than setting the difficulty on story thank god the story difficulty exists.
    the side missions are so boring that i couldn't bother to continue doing them but if you don't do the side missions and just continue doing story missions you will end up much weaker than the enemies who move fast and shoot rockets at you and you only have a good old bow and arrow and a useless slingshot.
    overall I rank this game 7/10 just because of it's great story and universe even though I hate the core mechanics of this series' gameplay    … Expand

    Wonderful game with some of the best graphics available on console. Side quests are a joy & rival that of the Witcher 3. Settlements are bustling & really feel alive. Everything is upgraded from Horizon Zero Dawn. Companions are a fantastic addition & really help to build relationships & chemistry with the other characters.

    Horizon Forbidden West is a masterpiece I love the gameplay mechanics, soundtrack, the beautiful world, side quests, main story especially the tribal politics, it felt like I was playing a futuristic sci-fi Game of thrones

    Compared to first game, this game has been improved in every way possible. It would easily be 8.5 if it weren't so aggressive with some things regarding characters.

    Game play is more fun (improved combat), improved movement through the world, improved skill tree with different ways to play.     World is gorgeous, different areas with different climates and feel to them.
    Graphics are amazing, sometimes you just need to stop running through the world and admire the beauty!
    Soundtrack is improved, much more diverse and rich! Enjoyed it a lot :)

    Regarding characters.
    Lots of Irritating characters that promote their progressive views from RL to you. Male white characters are almost all bad guys, black predominately good and females are all paragon except one important character.. It's hilarious. And where are Asians, could count them on fingers of one hand hahahah. And it seems that 50% of the cast is LGBT. Please guys, be more rational with this.. I don't mind diverse cast but all in moderation.

    But in the end really enjoyable game worth playing despite some RL propaganda.    … Expand

    I didn't have a whole lot of interest in Forbidden West. I played Zero Dawn and it was just okay in my mind. Forbidden West came with my PS5 so I decided to give it a chance and I'm very glad I did. It fixed nearly every issue I had with the original game. The combat feels very good and the graphics are great. The 60 FPS performance mode makes me happy. The open world is fun toI didn't have a whole lot of interest in Forbidden West.     I put this review off until performance mode was fixed. You can truly go anywhere in this game. The visuals are stunning even in performance mode. I’m only 20% through but am blown away by the little details and tend to walk around taking photos, enjoying this environment they made. The perfect sequel to already amazing predecessor Horizon Zero Dawn. Great characters, better machines, amazing map, weapons and so much more. Aloy is one of my favorite video game characters of all time. Cannot recommend it more Guerilla Games has nailed it.
    The only thing frustrating to me was the resetting of traps when you die in Arena and the Cauldron puzzles. They take too much time. Otherwise, I have no complains.    … Expand

    Things I Wasn't Impressed With: The grind is real. Except it's not in leveling up, but rather in gear acquisition and improvement.

    The hunting challenges were a low point in Zero Dawn, but I wasn't surprised they kept them in Forbidden West. But to add fighting pits and arena battles was surprising. At first, the fighting pits and hunting challenges were fairly easy. However, the final set of each (in the lowlands, I believe) were unnecessarily difficult. For the last hunting challenge and arenas, you almost have to turn down the difficulty to make it bearable. For the last fight pit, you need to look up what to do online because the instructions in the game are incorrect (spent about an hour before looking it up online, then tried to revised instructions and completed the fight pit challenges in like 30 seconds each). Gear is locked behind these challenges, so it's important to complete them.

    Gear improvement is a chore. You have to go out of your way (admittedly, creating a "job" makes this pretty easy) to improve your gear and you 100% won't be able to do it by naturally progressing with the story and exploration of the map (couldn't even get my legendary gear to level 2 without creating a job when all I had left was the final story mission).

    No spoilers, but the late game reveal that teases the sequel seemed very " and then..." story writing. I couldn't help but roll my eyes and sigh at it.

    Lastly, machine strike is a garbage game. Developer's keep trying to make the new Gwent. Gwent was a simple game. Machine strike is more complicated than chess. What doofus thought this would be a good idea?    … Expand

The map is humongous but with question marks peppered all over the place the game lacks a sense of discovery so you are robbed of the high you get when you stumble upon something on your own and the discoveries are not that great to begin with.     Summary: Lots of busy work, floaty controls, lackluster melee, crowded inventory, dull story.

    I really liked the original, even the dlc. However this takes the original and piles on complexity without improving the gameplay.

    Horizon has enchanted me again. After a slow start, a graphically beautiful, sophisticated sequel comes, polished in every aspect, and underscored by a great soundtrack on top of that. The sequel was simply a success. Everything that worked before works even slightly better now. [Issue#317]

    Horizon Forbidden West is Guerrilla's best game to date, taking Aloy to new heights with a blockbuster release that meets the high standards set by PlayStation in recent years. While it's totally worth fans jumping in on day one, it's perhaps better to wait a few weeks until all the bugs are ironed out.

    Horizon Forbidden West is exactly what everyone thought it would be: an amazing game. It has an open world with plenty of things to do and places to explore, fights against some really well-developed machines and stunning visuals. The feeling is that the second game of the series improves on what was already great, and it feels rewarding and fun to play. It is another single-player masterpiece from Sony.
