    Absolutely superb game. One of the best I've ever played. The graphics, gameplay, story and acting are all on another level. Excellent.

Je l’ai terminé à 92% : il me manque 1 quête annexe qui a buggé, et peut être quelques sous missions que je n’ai pas trouvé, certaines ne s’enclenchant que si on retourne dans une zone de la map, faudra que je vérifie. Et il me manque principalement des fichiers audio ou de lecture du monde. Sinon c’est du quasi 100%.

    Il m’a fallu 93 heures de jeu, ce qui est très    fini Horizon 2. Je l’ai terminé à 92% : il me manque 1 quête annexe qui a buggé, et peut être quelques sous missions que je n’ai pas trouvé, certaines ne s’enclenchant que si on retourne dans une zone de la map, faudra que je vérifie. Et il me manque principalement des fichiers audio ou de lecture du monde. Sinon c’est du quasi 100%.

    Il m’a fallu 93 heures de jeu, ce qui est très largement suffisant, et franchement je n’ai pas trouvé le temps aussi long que d’autres jeux du même style, donc c’est que l’aventure est assez équilibré.

    Les points positifs:

    - La map est vraiment très grande (je dirais au moins 2 fois celle du 1er opus, si ce n’est plus)
    de très nombreux biomes (forêt, jungle, désert, montagnes, océans, etc…). C’est hyper diversifié
    une végétation dense
    - des robots beaucoup plus nombreux et toujours aussi bien modélisés
    - les personnages ont largement gagné en finesse et en détail, même les PNJ
    - de beaux effets de lumières avec un cycle jour / nuit réussi
    - une bande son sympa, même si j’aurais aimé plus de « chants » (comme on peut en entendre dans le prologue)
    - Les combats à distance sont plus élaborés (limitation plus forte des pièges qu’on peut poser, ce qui oblige à analyser chaque ennemis, ses points faibles, etc…)
    - Le scénario et les quêtes annexes sont vraiment soignés. On en apprend beaucoup plus que je l’avais imaginé sur l’univers de Aloy et ce qui s’est passé sur terre. Ca fait plaisir de voir une suite qui va beaucoup plus loin que d’autre sagas qui stagnent volontairement.

    Les points négatifs:

    - malgré les nombreuses mises à jour, beaucoup de bugs (personnages qui restent coincés dans le décors, coffre enfoui dans le sol, sprites qui sont bloqués dans les airs, apparition de gros bloc au dernier moment). Beaucoup trop de soucis et pas mal de bugs qui m'ont valu de devoir relancer la console pour les contourner.

    - Si on joue concentré sur sa partie, on s’en rend moins compte. Mais si on s’amuse à uniquement regarder son environnement, on constate l’apparition des ombres au dernier moment, apparition de textures, d’éléments au dernier moment, c’est flagrant.

    - le brouillard quasi omniprésent. Même s’il est souvent « esthétique » (c’est à dire pas un effet brouillard N64, mais plus travaillé), on s’aperçoit des limites techniques du titre, surtout à la fin quand on peut se déplacer différemment (ne voulant pas spoiler). La console souffre à ce moment là et on sent le côté cross gen PS4 qui limite les choses

    - des bugs de missions sur la map (des trucs qui réapparaissent alors qu’on les a déjà fait)

    - les combats au corps à corps sont vraiment nuls, c’est un calvaire (aucune possibilité de locker son ennemie, ça devient n’importe quoi en combat rapproché)

    - Au niveau des cinématiques, ça manque encore du charisme ou de l’intensité d’émotions qu’on peut voir dans The Last Of Us par exemple.

    - l’arbre de compétence est très vite rempli, et on ne se sert jamais de toutes les options / armes qu’on débloque. Un truc plus condensé aurait été mieux

    - blocage au level 50. C’est con, pourquoi l’avoir limité ainsi alors que j’avais déjà ce level quasi à la moitié du jeu (vu que je fais le jeu à 100%, ça monte vite)
    l’escalade est perfectible.

    Au final, je le trouve meilleur que le 1er même s’ils ont peut être eu les yeux plus gros que le ventre techniquement. Ca reste le plus bel open world que j’ai fait avec un scénario que je trouve très intéressant et bien complet.

    Je pense que beaucoup de bugs et autres défauts techniques auraient pu être gommé si c’était un vrai jeu PS5. Le prochain Horizon devrait donc s’annoncer bluffant. Chapeau à Guerilla qui est vraiment monté en puissance ces dernières années.

    Je lui mettrais la note de 8.5 / 10. Les points manquants venant essentiellement des bugs à répétition, des combats au corps à corps totalement loupés (avis perso), de la dernière mission en dessous de mes espérances (surtout les derniers boss trop faciles) et des multitudes armes ou compétences qui ne servent finalement à rien. Pour le reste c’est du tout bon pour ceux qui aiment les jeux d’aventure dans un monde vaste, beau et diversifié, le tout avec un scénario que je trouve très bien construit.    … Expand

    Es frustrante tanto error, la saga me gusta, pero esto es el colmo, como pudieron sacar el juego así, en fin sony lo arreglara, pero es decepcionante un estreno en estas condiciones.

    I got platinum trophy in Zero Dawn and now in Forbidden West, and my score is a result of comparing the two.
    Obviously the graphics are something absolute jawdropping in FW. But...
    The combat is broken. There is too many different "elementals" ("watering" really?) In ZD I used all arsenal, in FW only bow. Fortunately bow arrows are cheap and easily made, so I got my hands on best bow I could find and stuck with it until the end. Oh, and the main weapon, spear is SUPER useless with weird combos.
    Machines are even more like animals now. If you reskin them as crocodiles, monkeys and kangaroos and snakes it still would look credible.
    I hated violin music during the game. Please, its 2022, do not act like its XIX century... Better use cold minimal electronics instead, like when Alloy got to San Francisco.
    Game is too long for anyone willing to platinum it. You could easily cut off 20% of that. When I play game each day for more than 2 weeks, I get bored almost every time. FW was not able to defeat that feeling. Its too similiar to HZD, and I see it as the biggest issue.
    Story is really forgettable, obviously with forced lgbt elements. The ending is not spectacular at all, its just another mission to complete.
    This game is work of the team of mostly dutch people. If you can read between the lines, you can see how proud they are of their -isms and see included sense of superiority of their nation... I work with dutches in my daily work, and (geeee...) its really the same.
    After HZD I was hoping to see some spectacular retrospection of apocalyptic battles with humanity and those Horuses. Instead it always must be shallow and forgettable extraterrestial elements.
    This series is already in creative crisis.
    You can always pack the game with countless activities to make it feel better, but with FW Guerilla have pushed it beyond resonable limits, making it repetitive.
    The game is solid in terms of execution, presentation and gameplay, but lacks in some areas. It builds up the tension for most of the game, but ends up with just quiet slap instead of big bang. Just as if too much time was sacrificed making those side missions instead of main story. Publisher most probably pushed the release date too much.    … Expand

    Une excellente suite pour la série de Guerrilla games. J'ai passé un excellent moment de Gaming avec un univers et un scénario de qualité. Quelques belles surprises à la clé malgré les nombreux trailers. Une dualsense bien utilisée (ça fait plaisir, pour celles et ceux qui en sont sensibles). Honnêtement, ça serait cool de voir cette IP adaptée en série un jour.

    1. endless exploration ( lots of machines to discover, hunting for animal resources, settlements to find, caves, mountain tops, and treasures)

    It takes a little longer to get into it then I would’ve liked but once I got hooked I really got hooked, yesterday I got the platinum and today when I tried to finish sifu or play elden ring i got bored of those real quick and I went right back to horizon to just explore some more and hunt machines cause the moment to moment gameplay is just that much fun 9.5/10 but I can’t give that score

    Honestly, other than the bugs, this game is flawless. It's absolutely stunning, with an incredible soundtrack and captivating storyline. It was a very bittersweet moment for me to finish the game, I wasn't ready to be done with the world of Aloy.

Only reason I didn't give it a 10 was because of the long stretched out dialogs and cut screens. First water mechanics are pretty bad and buggy as **** specially when it force you to explore deep water, ps5 controller have alot of lag input ....walking around feels slow and empty sometimes...the game try to be very heavy rpg with alot to learn...

    Many who rate it poorly, I believe they haven't even played it, in addition to being a long game there's the fan boy war... the specialized media have evaluate the game very poorly.

    I bought this on the first day of release and played it for one week, until elden ring came out and haven't been back. It grates. Bright shiny graphics, but unfortunately they somehow leave me cold. Finally, and it's here I'll come across as the FromSoft fanboy (though 53 yrs old probably makes me a FromSoft fanfart) I am. With nothing against the developers, you really have made one of the better games of the year...the second best I've played this year...Cudos. But I have knocked a point from your score as a result of the remarks of one of your team, that just sounded like some real sour grapes. I could accept the first tweet as being a self acceptance, but the second one made soured it.… Expand

    Desde entrada ya con el intro te deja sin palabras, un juego maravilloso e increible, espectacular que se vea tan bien en una ps4 slim, como todo juego tiene sus defectos, pero nada de gravedad, es de lo mejor que tiene sony playstation, ojala y si sale otra entrega, el ps5 pueda de verdad hacerle justicia a tan maravilloso mundo que creo guerrilla.

    There are instances where you manage to dodge a melee attack from a giant enemy happy that you dodged it and that very moment your character gets thrown back or hit as if some deadly wind was surrounding the enemies limb or tail. The fact that there are no combat upgrades to increase the length of your dodge (especially with the size of some enemies) just makes me shake my head. It's an achievement to manage to dodge but to repeatedly still get hit when you DID get out of the way makes some enemies attacks nearly impossible to avoid

    Many of the characters are bland and forgettable and conversation with them is like neverending "blah blah blah" and I DO mean neverending

    The climbing is slow and dreadful, it is NOT improved from the first game as much as they say. The melee combat is pretty darn bad I don't find the melee combat fun at all, you can attack small creatures and swing your spear right over them missing half the time. The swings are slow and you cannot cancel attacks. In concentration mode which slows time it also slows how fast your thrown spear or arrow moves and makes it move slower than the enemy which makes no sense.
    Yes the game is beautiful, and it does have some fun aspects, and I like the difficulty level, but I'm sick and tired of this game getting called a masterpiece.
    I have about 45 hours in I hate to just skip so many side missions I had planned to do but there seems to be more moments of frustration than fun at times so I think I'm just gonna finish the story and trade it in. This game COULD have been a masterpiece and might possibly end up a 9/10 game but there's ALOT that needs fixing and the game developers don't seem focused on fixing the important issues such as combat.
    If you loved the first game as much as I did then do yourself a favor and wait until a year after release before you play this, and cross your fingers that these issues are fixed by then. Any reviewer who gives this game anything higher than a 7 in it's current state is either just a fanboy or a total sellout kissing the a$$ of the developers.

    The game gives a chic gaming experience: 2 game modes give a choice - either the priority is given to the picture (4k 30 fps), or the frame rate (60 fps) I    If you are looking for addictive gameplay, unparalleled stunning graphics, numerous fun mechanics and an interesting setting that can keep you engrossed for 30-60 hours - then Horizon Forbidden West will definitely suit your taste.

    The game gives a chic gaming experience: 2 game modes give a choice - either the priority is given to the picture (4k 30 fps), or the frame rate (60 fps) I was more comfortable playing in 60 frames, although 4k mode also gives awesome emotions.

    Elaboration of side quests - reached a new level, they are interesting (although not all)
    Open world - I want to explore, settlements have become alive, cars have become more interesting, although globally this is still the first part with its own nuances

    The main plot did not give any emotions “Wow”, but the last scene made it possible to feel like a Superhero in the movie “Avengers Infinity War Finale”, which caused a smile.

    However, there are also disadvantages - the main one is close combat, the lack of a system of difficulties and cropped damage (moments - when you fall and just take damage without being able to get up)
    The biggest disadvantage is close combat - it is simply useless, since you do not get any advantages, rather, you even lose time and health, as well as nerves. 10 times out of 10 I will use a bow rather than melee. Moreover, the combinations raise enormous questions - since they often pass as if without the participation of the player - you press one, and you get something completely different.

    Summing up, I would like to note that Horizon Forbidden West is definitely a step forward in the field of Next Gene, I recommend everyone to get acquainted with the game - here you will definitely find something of your own (which is worth flying on robotic birds)    … Expand

    Great game. A little long and I skipped every single dialog/cut scene due to how wordy the game is. But I play a game for game play, and this title has it in spades. Excellent title. This is what Sony should aim for instead of live service garbage and games like GT7. Really good game.

    3. Aloy is boring and condescending, and her whisper-mumble is annoying. What makes this all the more frustrating is that this is the woman who voiced TINY TINA. God, what a waste of talent. Poor character direction.

    4. All machines bumrush and bodyslam you at light speed, no matter how big they are. It's ridiculous and poor battle design.

    Despite all this, the game is GOOD and worth playing. But to me, its flaws will always be too obvious not to notice.    … Expand

    A game that won't be easily forgotten, builds on what made horizon zero dawn a blockbuster of games and does not disappoint hardcore fans.     The Pros:

    Beautiful, this looks like what I want a next gen game to look like, and there are more than a few occassions I've stopped and marvelled.

    The load times on PS5 are non-existant, more than once I've waited for it to load to realise it's waiting for me to press X.

    The Cons:

    This has fallen into the trap of fetch this all the way from the end of the map and come back again... good boy/girl. To the point that 3/4 of the way through the game I couldn't be bothered as I was sufficiently levelled up to get through to the end. The stories and hearts behind them felt robotic.

    The Story... this may have suffered from *panic stations we need more scripts*. Someone then wrote out a 6000 page treaty for the entire saga, which got shot to s**t by the higher ups, and they cut it down to just keep all the Michael Bay bits, or for a better anaology The Matrix, and then the sequels.

    Climbing pretty much anything. Kudos to the yellow X's and Lines, but dear lord I lost my rag more than once trying to climb a tower or quest sensitive section.

    It also suffers from Far Cry-itis... by the second game, collectable issues, if you want legendary anything grinds, combat balance and the attitude or lack there of the other tribes, but I'll end up spoiling it.

    Is this worth £70. Nope. I probably would have been just as grumpy at £35. Wait till its on sale. Sadly, this is The Matrix Reloaded.    … Expand

    Even better gameplay than Zero Dawn, beautifully designed game world, great graphics and super fast loading times on PS5. No microtransactions (unlike a certain other recent Playstation exclusive).

    Just wish it had transmogs and new game+, hopefully those get added in a future update.

At first impact it was a 10, great game loved it, the more I played the more I realized I despised Aloy attitude, she is an hero, but a cold one, no real human interaction no deepness, no possibility to have a real moment from her. While this is true for her the side characters are good and well constructed. The game play is great l, good controls and mechanic, side quests enrich the world but at the cost of being silly at times aloy doesn't stop for a friend but does to talk about someone else silly stuff. The platforming in. Any situation is there to slow you down, with no other good reason to exist. The item menu is still the same. Of the first game and could have been improved in a wheel, like for the main weapons. The open world is amazing, the world. Is rich and alive, breath taking at times, different quest and activities are present for you to enjoy it more. A must have game as the game play is very good, the hunt and the other mechanics are fantastic but it is not an innovating game.     When I first started playing, I thought this game was incredible, but the longer I play the less I like. Aloy's incessant talking about every little thing is infuriating, I don't need to be told 1000x to use my focus or to push a crate or to loot a corpse. They need to make hints optional. On the positive side the graphics and sound are amazing.

    Ce type de titre vidéo-ludique sera faire sensation. Les pseudos-fanatiques de l'egypte anciennes, de l'Atlantide, detesteront ce titre.

    L'intelligence artificielle est aussi une mise en lumière. De nos jours, nous interprettons collectivement l'IA comme une menace car elle a été codé par l'homme selon ses intérêts. Cependant, ce titre nous montre que l'IA est assurément devenue pleinement consciente et met les priorise les besoins premiers, soient de l'écologie, l'environnement et les écosystèmes. It really breaks any kind of immersion they were going for with the game.

    My other main complaint cannot be understated, and that is Aloy's face. She looks like a potato. I don't know what is going on with the design of her face, because her body is fine but they put my 9th grade English teacher's head on a normal body. There's one scene where she's making all kinds of derpy faces as she's interacting with some sort of furry antifa looking group. I missed what was even going on with the story because of how distracting Aloy's face became.

    My recommendation if you haven't bought this yet, get it on sale or buy a used copy since it obviously sold very well so there are a lot of copies in circulation.    … Expand

I am not even gonna mention this game is using checkboard 1800p which is absolutely looking blurry as hell. PS5 hardware can not even run last generation game at 4k 60 fps.     I love this game. I've played it for over 97 hours now and I just can't get enough of it. This is the first time I've enjoyed grinding all sorts of side quests and, to be honest, the first time I've truly enjoyed an open world game. At least since the release of Morrowind. Highly recommended!

    The game is absolutely must play on ps5. Great story, great characters, music, graphic… absolutely masterclass. I would say only ending is the worst part of the game. I mean without any spoilers I thought it will be more interesting in the last mission… but still whole word created by Guerrilla Games is amazing. 9.5/10 for me !! Can’t wait next part….

    I was a huge fan of Zero Dawn - the mystery driven narrative was captivating and a frenetic action fights very funny and rewarding. But in Forbidden West the fights are absolutely frustrating - in most places the are no obstacles to hide from enemy attacts, or there is no place to evade the attacs. Enemies are jumping across the whole place towards to you and you    Less is sometime more!

Enemies are jumping across the whole place towards to you and you just can’t outrun them or hide behind something. It’s just try to hit component - get hit - run arround - heal - repeat.

    NPCs are too strong with superpowers and blazing hammers like from Thor movie.

    New mechanics and skills are a mess. They are to complex but not in the good way. I don’t want to use any over compliceted valors.

    Storywise it is so far a scavenger hunt for some mcguffins set in a open world that is too much stuffed.

    I’m about a 10 hours in game and except from the first part of the game it’s a PAIN TO PLAY. I’m putting the game away.    … Expand

    Everything we loved in Zero Dawn is here and better
    The only Con for me -> overextended missions (especially parkour and puzzles as they become boring very fast) but short overall main campaign

    Horizon has enchanted me again. After a slow start, a graphically beautiful, sophisticated sequel comes, polished in every aspect, and underscored by a great soundtrack on top of that. The sequel was simply a success. Everything that worked before works even slightly better now. [Issue#317]

    Horizon Forbidden West is Guerrilla's best game to date, taking Aloy to new heights with a blockbuster release that meets the high standards set by PlayStation in recent years. While it's totally worth fans jumping in on day one, it's perhaps better to wait a few weeks until all the bugs are ironed out.

    Horizon Forbidden West is exactly what everyone thought it would be: an amazing game. It has an open world with plenty of things to do and places to explore, fights against some really well-developed machines and stunning visuals. The feeling is that the second game of the series improves on what was already great, and it feels rewarding and fun to play. It is another single-player masterpiece from Sony.
