    Look, I’m a big harry potter fan. With that in mind, I can say that this is the best game I have ever played. Even if you are not a HP fan, this game deserves your attention. Beautiful open world, great story and an amazing combat. For me this is a blend of an almost perfect franchise and an almost perfect game. Give it a try.

    The feeling of exploring Hogwarts Castle for the first time is a feeling comparable to leaving Helgen in Skyrim or trying to find your way to Shujin in Persona 5. It is an overwhelming feeling of excitement and opportunity. The characters, especially the protagonist, Poppy Sweeting and Sebastian Sallow are extremely likeable and this is helped by some world class voice acting. The combatThe feeling of exploring Hogwarts Castle for the first time is a feeling comparable to leaving Helgen in Skyrim or trying to find your way to Shujin in Persona 5. It is an overwhelming feeling of excitement and opportunity. Emersive, atmospheric, diverse, filled with small details.The storytelling & acting, every aspect is exemplary. One can tell that the game was made with love for games, as well as for Harry Potter.

    Meanwhile, my wife is a huge fan and so I have bouflght her a copy to play on her PS4. Now she's not a big a tiin gamer, and so I got the Deluxe version so I could play on my PS5 and learn the combat and system to    I'm not a big Harry Potter fan.     Learning curve is hard in the beginning. Decided to play it on “easy”. Ray tracing ambiant occlusion isn’t quite what it should be and there’s still a lot of mesh pop up. It’s more a magic school simulator than a full RPG. It’s still worth your time!

    Am absolutely loving the Wizarding World. Tons of stuff to do, combat is fun if not a bit challenging (which was a pleasant surprise.). The only down sides I see are a lack of mob variety and some repetitive game mechanics. Definitely a recommend.

    The game is great, best Harry Potter game made so far. And I played most of them. The only reason I give it 9 out of 10 is because of the lack of main characters from the story and lack of a proper main antagonist that's memorable. If Voldemort is a 10 and Grindelwald is a 9 then the one in this game is kind of a 3.     Lived up to the hype, that’s all you need to know. The combat is fun, there are 69 different enemies (don’t believe the review bombers) and the castle is unbelievable to explore. Buy it.

    This game thoroughly impressed me more than I expected - particularly in its first half, before the open world fatigue started to take its toll. Despite the overabundant open-world elements such as the Merlin Trials and the treasure vaults, the rest of the world is breathtaking. It's so nice to see an open-world game with a UK countryside setting.

    Fun game love the feeling at being in Hogwarts but it does have a few bugs but i would recommend since exploring the castle to the surrounding area is fun and only downside is some battles feel abit repetitive but love solving some new ones

    Amazing Game. Immersive world, with great graphics, and exciting mechanics. It would be sure 10 if they would spend some more time on the development to add Quidditch games + PC optimization because now you need some .ini edition to play comfortably in 1440p on RTX 3070. Generally, lousy optimization is the only weak spot of the PC version. For PS5 I would for sure give max points.

    First off, I don't even like harry potter stuff. Never was interested in the books nor movies. That makes this game all that more exciting. That's how you know it did a good job when it can convince someone otherwise and enjoy it. That's what Red Dead Redemption did for me as I never liked westerns. I really only saw a few trailers and thought looks interesting game, however, it is aFirst off, I don't even like harry potter stuff. Never was interested in the books nor movies. That makes this game all that more exciting. That's how you know it did a good job when it can convince someone otherwise and enjoy it.     The world itself is the best part in my mind. This truly feels like next gen game to me one of the few. The load times are about 4 sec to travel anywhere and the SSD instant loading is great. Yes, there are few moments of loading when opening sections of Hogwarts but not enough to take you out of the moment. When you first get to Hogwarts and see how large this place is with the great lighting, it looks amazing. However, once you leave and see the world outside, first trip to Hogsmead, it's great just looking around and taking it in. There's truly a sense of wonder and magic everywhere.

    Combat is pretty solid. I was pleasantly surprised as I was not expecting much. It's not perfect by any means but gets the job done. The parrying, ancient magic and different spells make for interesting mix. I find myself hitting the wrong spells a lot as you can only assign 4 groups of 4 and have to switch through and also targeting can be wonky. I'm also playing on hard and it's relatively easy but enough challenge too. Overall satisfying.

    Story and characters are generally pretty likable. I'm only half way through but so far it's interesting and all players I have met are likable. There's not much to say in this department as no spoilers are necessary here.

    Soundtrack Is also great. This gets overlooked a lot in some off the reviews I've read. It really helps add to the immersion. Places have their own themes and it fits really well. Sometimes it feels like Tim Burton movie with Danny Elfman behind the musical wheel. Definitely helps add to the immersion.

    So this has been an unexpected hit for myself overall. What really make the game overall is the world and immersion. There's a sense of wonder and magic around every corner. It's great just exploring and getting a feel for this land. Sure combat can be pretty good and story is decent but that's what makes this game is this incredible world that's taking advantage of the new consoles. On a technical level I think it runs great on balanced mode. There's a few hiccups occasional but nothing that takes you out of the immersion. and to address the other complaint i hear other than technicalities, the bare open world with nothing in it? I've read this complaint and i can assure you there is lots to do and discover. Many of the same tasks and puzzles but it's still fun exploring around. All the negativity and bad reviews is in regards this BS transphobia. I swear people are getting dumb and dumber by the day but if buying a video game labels me a transphobic, then I sure as F*** am transphobic by that logic. So imagine my surprise when I was 8 hours into Hogwarts Legacy and realized the game was exactly what I hoped for, and more. This game truly does live up to the hype!

    I would have given it a 10/10 but sadly I had to deduct a point for the fact that even after the day 1 patch, the performance of the game isn't exactly great. I'm playing the game on an RTX 4080 with a Ryzen 7 5800X and 32GB of RAM, on a 4k monitor, and even with DLSS set to Balanced and DLSS frame generation turned on I would get unacceptably low framerates when traveling through the castle, which seemed to get worse over time. Restarting the game helped minimize this, which makes me believe the game must be suffering a memory leak. I hope this will get patched soon so I can give this game a 10/10!    … Expand

You can go all eye candy with Fidelity & Ray tracing all the way to HFR performance in which I get 117fps. All in all this game is very well designed, very well crafted and polished like an expensive, shiny brand new sports car.… Expand

    No Spoilers here, really fun game. Graphics are great, spell play is fun and just started flying. I have about 12 hours played so far and you totally lose track of time while in game. I like the fact that you can mod your outfits to what you like (as you collect more). I don't get the fuss about this, i have met two gay couples and one trans so far...why are people bent out of shape over this?

    As for performance, I only played on performance mode (60fps) because I just don't think the game would've flowed as well at 30fps, but at 60fps especially during fights OR on a broomstick it felt good. Mechanics were mostly good overall, however, it did feel like at times dodging was a bit clunky but that was my own negative.

    The story was fine, not going to go into details about it but the story for me felt like a secondary thing compared to exploring. I found it hard to invest in some of the characters and some of the characters were definitely afterthoughts, but it was a good enough story in the end.

They have no impact on the game and this includes your house. They have no impact on the story in any way really.     Great characters, excellent story, and enjoyable combat. I wish you could engage more with the NPCs but that’s a minor issue. The game really makes you feel like you are at Hogwarts. I highly recommend it.

Decent dialog, story and fan service. Good music and SFX, a lot of collectibles which aren't completely dull and add something (like your customizable room of requirement) plus animal riding and beast taming reminiscentFantastic game, not perfect, but quite close.     Seen individually the mechanics aren't anything special. But the sum of its parts is quite good and addictive enough to keep playing. this is coming from a non woke, non harry potter fan.

    The game is fantastic. My only gripe is that it doesn't hold much replayability after you beat it. I wasn't too keen on 100% it either. But I definitely did enjoy my time with it.

I have only been in for a few days but they really nailed it here. The story is good. The fighting mechanics are very well done. The map is dense and feels very alive.     With the plethora of open-world video games flooding the market, they're becoming increasing cookie cutter, with most adopting Ubisoft's formula of icon-filled maps and side stories to complete. My biggest gripe with these games, though, is how often they feel empty. Even Breath of the Wild, though unanimously praised for its innovation, didn't have a great "open world." The bulk of interesting map points are tied to aesthetically copy/pasted temples and simple puzzles for minimally rewarding Korok seeds; but this is just to highlight how special it is when an open world game makes the world feel truly realized, and that's probably Hogwarts Legacy's biggest strength.

    Exploring the castle grounds and its surrounding areas always feels rewarding and interesting, and it's helped by the uniquely rich world of the Harry Potter universe. As someone who's seen the movies but never really got "into" the whole franchise, I was entranced by all the flora and fauna, all the characters' and their stories, all the background details, and of course all the cool spells you can learn.

    Hogwarts Legacy's combat plays like a spellcasting class in Dark Souls, without the tremendous challenge. You lock on to opponents, hit them with combos utilizing your various spells like Incendio to light them on fire or Accio to yank them towards you, and dodge roll or parry their attacks. At its core, HL's combat is simple but once you start unlocking Talents, you can really tailor it to your playstyle. Luckily, despite the late game becoming a bit repetitive, utilizing talents keeps the combat feeling fresh and consistently fun, even if it becomes diminishing returns after a certain point.

    The story is intriguing, but it's clear that the game is meant to be played by a younger audience as well. It doesn't go anywhere super controversial or interesting beyond its initial story, but the cast that comprises both the main story and its side quests are all fun and engaging, adding to the beautifully realized world of Hogwarts, Hogsmeade, etc.

    Graphically, the game really shines and while it likely won't contend with Horizon or The Last of Us for truly mind-blowing, it's incredible how real the world and its inhabitants feel considering how fanciful and magical they all are. You'll get the usual uncanny valley in some facial animations and often hear the same voice lines over and over as you traverse the world, but these are minor gripes for what otherwise feels like a lived-in universe with gorgeous foliage, skyboxes, and of course all the bombastic special effects when the magic starts flying.

    Hogwarts Legacy is a win-win: it's the ultimate Harry Potter experience for those who got into the franchise while also being a great introduction to the universe for total newbies. Even without the HP knowledge, it's a fantastic, dense open-world experience that feels as fun as it is to watch and listen. Once you feel the groove in combat, it's hard not to smirk when you take down a troll or an evil wizard with a thunderous bolt of lightning or disarming them and beating them with their own weapons. THIS should be the blueprint for open world games going forward, as well as video game adaptations.    … Expand

    Everything you could want in a game set in the Harry Potter world. There are a few nitpicky things that keep me from giving it a 10/10, but those are really just a me thing. Other than those things the game is excellent. Experienced very little to no bugs on the PS5 in Fidelity mode, which is rare for games now a days.

    Having a blast with it right now. Not even a HP fan myself but overall it's a extremely charming game with great music, voice acting, and graphics are pretty great. The combat is really fun as well. A must have for anybody wanting a fun open world game.

    Really really enjoyed the game. I’ve completed main story, I still have some side quests to do but very happy with it. Only thing I’d like is a morality system, there isn’t really any repercussion for using dark arts

    Amazing game! The feeling of immersion and the amazing detail is revolutionary. I haven’t had any gameplay issue and frame rate is fine. My only complaint is people think it’s funny to spoil the game online but this game is all about the gameplay and immersion so I’m enjoying it still.

    It's a really cool game, I'm just a few hours in and I can't wait to get back to it. Very cool world, game looks great, I'm not a huge harry potter fan but my wife is and favorite thing about this game is that she likes playing this game! (she doesn't play games).

    Its a really fun RPG with a nice soundtrack, good graphics and beautiful design. I watched the movies long time ago so I just remember a few things but either way it didn’t affect my understanding of the game so far. Game runs pretty great, haven’t noticed any major bugs to my surprise. Very solid early-release launch.

    In short, I've never been a fan of this Universe. I didn't grow up with Harry Potter and I'm surprised that I can't tear myself away from this game ... everything just played ... I'm already after 20 hours and the end is not in sight ... I'm very pleasantly surprised and recommend it even to non-fans.

    Its really good. Graphics, gameplay, the open world, everything feels really good. The only reason its not a 10/10 is cause in direct comparison god of war for example felt EVEN greater. Not to take anything away from this game its still absolutely fantastic.

    A Magical game, accumulated more than 15 hours in the game, the best asset of this game is the combat itself very complicated combat yet an exciting way to play using range magic, I like the combos where you can create ways to pummel and get huge damage to your opponent. Exploration is also good but kinda repetitive but most are okayish I just wished that the puzzled were a bit more complicated but things like capturing beasts are rather fun, other game mechs such as the room requirement were also addictive you will find yourself locked in, and spending more hours collecting items just to unlock certain items and setting up the room the way you want it.

    The one thing that I dislike is the limited types of enemies hopefully at the later part I'll be encountering the different unique types of mobs aside from dubogs, trolls, undead, wolf and spiders.

    Story since I'm not half way yet, I would say it looks promising regarding the Ancient Magic.

    Overall the game is a solid 9/10, with amazing combat and a beautiful aesthetic of a magical world.    … Expand

    Great game, great story, great graphics, and you get to explore Hogwarts as a Witch or Wizard, what’s not to like. Only thing I found disappointing was how it didn’t matter what kind of wand I used, they would all perform the same, so wands are just purely for aesthetic purposes in terms of picking of your own wood, core, etc.

    Not a Harry Potter fan. I have just seen the first movies few days ago, but boy oh boy this game is fun. I love the magic combos you can do and exploring the open worlds is so fascinating and rewarding. Pretty much a complete game. A bit too much chat sometimes and going from point A to point B and some dungeons can get boring but still a great game overall I would give a solid 9.

    It really gets most things right. Amazing combat system, great gear customizability, beautiful graphics and a large world to seamlessly explore. My one complaint is that many of the characters, and by extension many secondary missions are a bit of a bore and a filler. The main story makes up for it however.

    Hogwarts Legacy is definitely a beautiful-looking game that doesn't have a groundbreaking story, but does have a beautiful world, a fun combat system, broomstick flying, and of course an incredible amount of side quests and missions. [Issue#325]

    It's been a decade since we've had a full Potterverse game, but the wait has been well worth it. Hogwarts Legacy gets just about everything right, with its involving storyline and myriad of main and side quests. Perhaps its finest feature though is Hogwarts itself, providing as much joy in just exploring the halls as performing set tasks. We doubt a single Harry Potter fan will be disappointed. We certainly weren't.
