    I'm not a big Harry Potter fan. The films are ok, albeit skewed towards children and full of plot holes, but mindless fluff none the less, and I've never played a HP game before.
    Meanwhile, my wife is a huge fan and so I have bouflght her a copy to play on her PS4. Now she's not a big a tiin gamer, and so I got the Deluxe version so I could play on my PS5 and learn the combat and system to    I'm not a big Harry Potter fan.     Excellent game! The exploration is super fun, the environments are really pretty, and the combat works well. You really feel like a student running through the Hogwarts countryside. The small negatives would be the camera is too close, and the combat targeting can be off at times

    Incredibly fun combat, amazing visuals, compelling story.
    Be in Hogwarts.
    Has some technical issues with sound and perfomance.

    This game is a masterpiece. I've played other Harry Potter games and none of them come close to as good as this one is. It looks especially good on the PS5. If you're on the fence between getting a series X or PS5, I would highly recommend going with the PS5 especially for this game. Not to mention PS made next gen controller while Microsofts lazy selves kept the same controller thatThis game is a masterpiece.     Lovely game, It truly gives you the feeling you're a student in Hogwarts. They nailed the class feelings and combat is really good.

    As many have sed, this is the HP game we all have been waiting for.

    Another video game that introduced me to a brand new world I never once jumped into. Hogwarts Legacy does everything it needed to right, if it was going to succeed, and then some. My only real gripe with this game was I wished there was more time with each professor, or class time, and that there were more reasons to enter a cave, instead of just finding a single chest    8.8 / 10

    Even though Hogwarts Legacy has a lot of room for improvements, I still enjoyed the game and recommend it.

    I played the game on hard difficulty and the combat/gameplay was extremely fun and satisfying. You will get so many different spells and you can create some really cool combos. I think one part that they could improve a lot was the classes that you attend during the game. In most of them you don't have many interactions and you just watch a cutscene which made the classes uninteresting.

    Overall the main story of the game was ok. There wasn't any crazy moments or plot twists and you could predict most events. I really liked the main characters of the game and I didn't expect to like any of them when I started the game, but as I played more and more, I started to actually care about them. However, I really wished that you could interact more with them and do some extra activities with them outside of the quests.

    The map design and environments were amazing, specially the Hogwarts castle. In most quests you will visit a different and unique location and there were many locations that I would just pause and look around. In addition, the way that they used the room of requirement was very smart. You could customize everything, create potions, grow plants, and keep your pets there and use their feather for your upgrades.

    I think if they keep the core parts and improve the weak aspects, the next game is going to be goty level. My score for this game is 8 and I recommend it specially if you are a fan of the series.    … Expand

I prefer Playstation due to their focus on narrative games. For scoring, I’ll be using the Gameinformer review scale and of course influenced by my personal opinions.

    (9) Superb. Just shy of gaming nirvana, this score is a high recommendation because the game reviewed is head-and-shoulders above its competition.

    Feels like the wizarding world. If you liked the world from the books and the movies, this is for you too. This game does everything very well and you can explore the world you read about. Hogwarts and Hogsmead are here for you to explore in detail. The game is pretty polished, I haven't run into any glitches so far, breathe of fresh air.

    Surprisingly good! Didn't expect that. Really makes you feel as if you are transported to the Harry Potter universe. Anyone fan of the series should at least check it out.

    Hands down one of the best games I've ever played, and it comes from someone with decades of gaming experience. I have 90h+ under my belt and just started a third house character to get me closer to seeing everything that this marvel has to offer.

    Just 100 percented the game and every moment of the game made me feel magical and happy, similar to when I first read the books as a child. The story, graphics and combat are all of the highest quality.

    I've loved the world of Harry Potter since I was a kid, so having the opportunity to play as a character in Hogwarts has been nostalgia-filled, endless fun. I suspect the negative reviews on this page are from people who have not actually played the game but who wish to spread their soulless negativity onto a wonderful game, but rest assured that they have not deterred me (nor anyone II've loved the world of Harry Potter since I was a kid, so having the opportunity to play as a character in Hogwarts has been nostalgia-filled, endless fun.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is great. I'll admit, it has its flaws - which I'll get into in just a bit - it was a fun 30 hour experience. I haven't technically finished the whole game as of writing this as I'm at the final part of the game in the House Cup and need to reach the level required.

    I love the combat in this game. They really did their best to make the game a challenge with what spells to have equipped and how to equip them. The combat flows well from enemy to enemy and even on the easiest difficulty, things still felt like there was a general challenge.

    Puzzles are another thing that I want to talk about. I didn't like a lot of them. Many were just common sense and you just had to use your head. But many puzzles I found annoying and confusing. One in the Natsai side quest storyline, I had to flip a box on its side to climb up the side. At the time, I had never had to do this, so it felt weird to have to do. Another was during Rookwood's Trial. There was a part where I had to move a block to climb onto a bridge but I couldn't get the block to move. Eventually I figured it out but it took a lot of time and I still don't think that was how it was intended to be done.

    Now for story. While writing reviews for my YouTube channel, I've always been looking for whether a game made me care more about the characters than the story, and this game did just that. I was so invested in finding out what happened with Sebastian and his storyline. You could tell the devs put a lot of time into making sure people cared about Sebastian. Now saying that, I think Natsai got thrown under the bus in this game. Like, an interesting character but there just wasn't enough motive and want to find out more about the character. The story follows your character as they discover their ability to wield an ancient form of magic. You find out others before you used to be able to do this and take their trials to learn to harness this magic and defeat an evil Goblin named Ranrok who has started a revolution against wizardkind for their mistreatment of Goblins. The story is very compelling and quite fun to play through. I really wanted to find out what happened next each time I completed a story quest and I loved it all.

    There's a good 30 hours of gameplay but I have well over that. There's a lot of stuff to do after you've completed the game. You can get all the spells, complete all the side quests, find every field guide page, and so much more. I'm still discovering new stuff and I don't plan to set this game aside forever.

    I hope this review helped. All in all, if you're looking for a great Harry Potter game experience, BUY THIS GAME! If you're looking for an amazing open world adventure for multiple days of play, BUY THIS GAME! It's amazing and I at least think you should watch someone play it before you buy it, or ask a friend who has it if you can play a save file on their device before you buy it.    … Expand

Go and play this game and get to experience the world yourself I am telling you it is amazing! Ignore the hates! Just enjoy the game!

    This is an amazing game for all HP fans! Hogwarts has been recreated with love, overall the open world feels very detailed and magical. Different game mechanics and activities are just what you always wanted to do reading books/watching films. Music is amazing and helps immerse in Hogwarts, voice acting is very good, too. PS5 graphics (fidelity + ray tracing) are really nice, especiallyThis is an amazing game for all HP fans!     Work with DualSense is really impressive (immersive), casting spells and riding a broom are my favourites, but I have been only 25 hours of pure fun and slow exploring.
    I rated this 9, because obviously there are some problems in release version, but which can be easily fixed by developers: -impossibility to sleep and very weird skip time mechanics (not immersive because of many reasons)
    - the biggest issue for me which does not allow to completely immersive in this Wizarding World - empty dormitories during nighttime, like all the students are suddenly gone (this is really cringe). All rooms which should be habitant are empty including professors. I understand this is pure technical complexity to add this sleep course, but that is a downside for me to fully immerse into this story and gameplay - Outdated dialogue mechanics, lack of dialogue choices. It’s really strange to see characters entering dialogues in same way as in Mass Effect or Skyrim (this can’t be fixed I’m afraid and we’ll have to live with this). Let's be fair - many dialogues are super-simple, side quests are quite boring, BUT it doesn't really matter in this particular game.
    - different glitches with animals / npc, but that’s ok with me really, it happens everywhere, fixable with patches
    - most of the side quests are really weak, it’s a shame :( BUT, it’s fixable with additional content at some point and of course in amazing sequel we await. Lore is amazing itself and I really believe you will come up with brilliant new content, whether it be DLC or sequel.
    - another thing - why can’t you sit on a chair/bench in Hogwarts, just listen to music for example and look around, just watching students and professors do their stuff. You can even create chairs and benches, but you can’t sit on these. - different items you can interact with are cool - but globes are way too many. It's like they are obsessed with geography there. All these things I've mentioned are just purely minor issues which won't allow me to put a 10, which is amazing by itself!
    UPD after 50 hours. I’m giving it a 10 instead of 9 as the emotions I got after randomly revealing some secrets and trying some new mechanics made me absolutely happy like a Hogwarts fifth-grader. It’s unique    … Expand

    Absolutely incredible the combat feels amazing and you really get to live in the world jk Rowling wrote to the fullest extent. I've been waiting for a game like this ever since I read the books and so far it has delivered all I want.

    With that said, people will nitpick the game's "lack of combat diversity" because it's mostly ranged attacks because you are a witch/wizard.
    Additionally, the character customization is fantastic but the voice options really only consist of male/female and the pitch shifting is not necessary because then you sound    Perfection and incredible care taken to realize J.K. Rowling's vision.

    This game has almost everything I have ever wanted from a. Modern “Harry Potter” game. Great RPG, great sense of discovery and the world feels alive like they do in the books and movies. Wish there was quidditch and other wizard/mini games to play.

I love how the game parcels out its content and how it teaches you your way around Hogwarts by making you come back once you have unlocked new spells.

    Occasionally the students robes get stuck to the front of NPCs pants and sometimes    I'm 16 hours in right now. The atmosphere is fantastic. The combat is fun. The unnamed NPCs are little more than setdressing but the named ones are great. I love how the game parcels out its content and how it teaches you your way around Hogwarts by making you come back once you have unlocked new spells.

    I was very skeptical before the release of this game. They were very upfront about what the game looked like and what it would contain, but still with being burned recently by so many games, I was still weary. I can now say with full confidence that it’s absolutely fantastic! They have crafted a world that feels so alive and so true to the source material. This is a master class in Hogwarts games other wise. While I personally would have loved a sim aspect of going to class I Don't mind a "Trails Of Cold Steel" approach to schoolwork. This is not The BestBest Hogwarts Game of the decade since Quidditch Worldcup by EA/Warner Bros. interactive on PS2. Which makes the lack of chess and Quidditch Is missing in this otherwise Stellar outting. This is a master class in Hogwarts games other wise.     Optmalization on ps5 is perfect, the Quality is not bad somethimes it's reminding strong crossgen game form ps4 but the gameplay is amazing. Good job avalanche!

    The amount of detail, the lightning and the textures. Hogwarts legacy is all I asked for since I was 6. The game feels smooth on my end. Maybe some lighting glitches here and then but other that that? It’s a an amazing game. I never imagine the castle being that big. Good job devs

    This is not only the best Harry Pottee game ever, it’s literally Game of the Year material. Outstanding graphics, amazing characters and voice performances, great story, a magnificent open-world and more surprisingly, the combat system is a highlight! Everything about this game is perfect! The replay value is INSANE! Watch out for record breaking sales. It is THAT good!

    Everything you could want in a game set in the Harry Potter world. There are a few nitpicky things that keep me from giving it a 10/10, but those are really just a me thing. Other than those things the game is excellent. Experienced very little to no bugs on the PS5 in Fidelity mode, which is rare for games now a days.

    Amazing game! The feeling of immersion and the amazing detail is revolutionary. I haven’t had any gameplay issue and frame rate is fine. My only complaint is people think it’s funny to spoil the game online but this game is all about the gameplay and immersion so I’m enjoying it still.

The amount of details in Hogwarts is absolutely mindblowing and the world is fairly big I wish it was bigger but the amount stuff that you can do makes up for that. The combat is unique and feels awesome it's like Arkham knight but with wands. The flying in just something else and you can just lose yourself while doing it.     Great game. Has fun secrets when exploring the map and memorable NPCs. The story is good and doesn't rely on callbacks or references to other hp properties. Voice acting is well done, especially for the main villain

    This is what I wanted and so much more from a HP world game. The visuals are quite good, the game runs quite well (considering I am playing the deluxe edition 3 days before the official release - its amazing there are very few bugs overall). The world is so immersive and there is always much to do. I am 15hrs in and looking forward for more

    The hype is real! The game is absolutely fun and I seriously can’t put the game down. I might get fired from my job because I’ve called off multiple days in a row just to finish playing the game.     Lots of complaints about the transphobia thing but you know it’s their loss honestly, they want to complain about a real good game let them, the ones who play the game will understand how great and fun it is. To my honest impression, was a bit scared that Hogwart’s Legacy hype would ruin the experience for me and it’s very rare that a game meets those expectations. Don’t think, if you’re hesitant on getting the game, BUY IT! It is worth every single penny.    … Expand

    Pure perfection! Gorgeous to look at and with an endless stream of things to do and places to explore. My only tiny complaint is the lighting issues that can be noticeable when walking into a new room / area. But while that can be a bit bothersome, the sheer perfection of the world design and combat make this game a truly exceptional one and very much deserving of a 10.

    The world is wonderful, every inch there's a secret or something interesting to look. Lots of magic everywhere, feels like you're in Harry Potter movie.

    There are a couple of visual glitches but im sure they will patch them out, overall good release

    I am absolutely loving this game! Can't wait to see if there are add on in the future for stuff like quidditch and such, would recommend to long time lovers of the idea of a Hogwarts and wishes to recieve their own letter.

    It's been a decade since we've had a full Potterverse game, but the wait has been well worth it. Hogwarts Legacy gets just about everything right, with its involving storyline and myriad of main and side quests. Perhaps its finest feature though is Hogwarts itself, providing as much joy in just exploring the halls as performing set tasks. We doubt a single Harry Potter fan will be disappointed. We certainly weren't.
