    Phenomenal, it is both new and old at the same time. For example, there is a moment where you get a sense of a possible connection to the Department of Mysteries while searching the forbidden section of the library with Sebastian Sallow and being separated from him. Dueling is awesome and the land is plentiful with plenty of monsters and creatures as well as hidden gems. Every detail wasPhenomenal, it is both new and old at the same time. For example, there is a moment where you get a sense of a possible connection to the Department of Mysteries while searching the forbidden section of the library with Sebastian Sallow and being separated from him. Dueling is awesome and the land is plentiful with plenty of monsters and creatures as well as hidden gems. Every detail was taken into account for and the castle is truly special. Potions class with Professor Sharp is my favorite thus far and I can not wait to do more, herbology is really neat as well. There is so much to do and the land is fully exploitable. The story, plot, and characters feel special and alive. I could not be happier and I bought a PS5 in preparation for this exquisite time at Hogwarts. “Wit beyond measure, is man’s greatest treasure”.… Expand

    The game nears perfection. There are minor issues here and there such as light or phasing glitches that I’m sure will be tended to in the next patches. Otherwise I must say, this game is a Harry Potter fan wet dream. It was clearly created by people who understand and love the wizarding lore.
    The gender neutrality is very silly and completely unnecessary. I would specifically rate this    The game nears perfection.     This game is Magical! (pun intended) Every aspect of the game has exceeded my expectations. From the production, the combat and the story. Every detail is top notch, and is the Harry Potter game every fan has been dreaming of.

    I'd give 9.5 just because of lack of optimization in some areas, but rounding up to 10.

    I lost interest in games to the point that I didn't play almost anything for quite a while now. But this game managed to spark my interest. I can't stop playing it, I feel the joy of playing games again. I believe it's a must-play not only for fans but for gamers all around.     Phenomenal game. Had some performance chinks, and could use some updates to polish it, but overall good game. Gotta give it a 10 to compensate for the bombers. ❤️

    Ignore all the low ratings from around the Internet by people on there high horse .This game is absolutely fantastic. It's rich in Harry Potter lore, the graphics and atmosphere are spectacular. Around every corner there is something new and exciting to discover. The gameplay is fluid its easily the best game in a long time.

    A childhood dream comes true. Since i was a child a dreamed of such an game. The love of detail is so great is this game, Hogwarts is exactly like i imagined it, big, misterious but also cosy. I am really overwhelmed by this great game

    Let's not get it twisted, this is a buggy game, but it's also a magical experience. The camera is too close to the character, but also the environments are a delight to behold. Bugs can be patched, but the wizarding world cannot be substituted for. Hogwarts itself is beautifully recreated and the surrounding environments are a veritable treasure trove of exploration.     After about 10 hours, fun games. A few issues on the PC side (even though I'm running a 3070, I9, 4TB NVME and 32Gb RAM!!). Hope they fix performance issues soon!

    Amazing Game!
    Great visuals, story, music and gameplay. The combat feels smooth and fluid whilst maintaining a high skill bar.

    The game plays great for me. It's a typical open-world game like Skyrim etc. The voice acting is great for the main characters. It takes some getting used to but its a solid-built game and you can tell the makers really cared about making Hogwarts great.

    From the combat feeling great, to the exploration of the castle and outer world, this game has so many things that old and new fans can love. It’s a charming world and the development team has done an excellent job bringing this world to life. A couple of non game-breaking glitches are why I can’t give it a perfect score.

    It is wonderful to see a game this polished, a very entertainment one. It brings excitement as well as nostalgia, this kind of games are rare today. Animations are great, the combat is refreshing as you can change it to your liking, the forced introduction of genders and agenda pops now and then but does not break the immersion.     It's the game fans have always wanted. Great story, likeble characters and decent gameplay. It feels like a Harry Potter game even if it isn't, and aesthetically sticks the it's roots.

    The game is also probably one of the most multi-curtural and LGBTQ+ friendly games I've ever has the pleasure of playing. It's done in the right way.

    If you put aside some small optimization issues and audio glitches - probably will be fixed with the Day 1 Patch - it is a well fan serviced video game beautiful sceneries, amazing soundtrack and smooth gameplay in every aspect. A dream come true for every hard Potter fan.

    Game is honestly incredible, open world is massive and it really puts you where you wanted to be as a kid in HOGWARTS, trans “activists” boycotted and tried to destroy this game for no reason when there’s in fact is a trans character in the game. I mean we’ve strayed so far from what’s right and wrong.

    The world in Hogwarts Legacy is so fun to explore. The casle specifically is really special to explore. There is so much eye for detail. There are many puzzles and hidden things to find. This game is the best exploration game I have played. The story is excithing it gives you a true Harry Potter vibe. The music is so good.     In the lines of Kotor or The Witcher 3, we have an immersive RPG experience in the form of Hogwarts Legacy. You create your own original character and join a house of your choosing. Very fun experience for both Harry Potter fans or those new to the Wizarding World

    Awesome graphics, story draws you in from the first five minutes. Felt like Harry Potter met Indiana Jones and then drops you right into the heart of the game, Hogwarts itself. Still only scratching the surface, but I'm enjoying the adventure.

The creators of this game did a amazing job to let you feel lost in a different world. And to be honest that's the only thing that matters.     At beginning the game’s enchantment starts. Sound scape is great,3d audio very well done. Even changes as you move you’re head phone adorned head. The graphics are very nice. Some pop in I noticed on the ps5 but it never hurt the game. The graphic details help that, they stand out giving it a lived in feel. The game play is great. Many door’s already open others await after you learn more spells and the rewards are many for exploring. Puzzles are everywhere too. Lots of true to the books lore. Spell casting is satisfying, even a duel club to join. My problems is really in item management. You have a limited slots like resident evil , yes that small. But there’s ways to sell or destroy old underpowered items. At the point in game I’m at I can walk in and out and around almost anywhere I see. I’ve found ways up mountains and into a lake swimming and diving . The diving is only spots of bubbling water. Which I feel is a ok thing, the meat of the game is hogwarts. If your a fan or casual gamer you should find this fun and interesting. Dare I say enchantingly great. As for the review bombing other who hate jk Rowling . Thoes reviews are pretty easy to spot. Ignore them. They say many thing not about the game or so overinflated I’d gues by reading them they didn’t play it. It’s a boy who cried wolf scenario with them.… Expand

    This game is amazing!!!! A few bugs that will most likely be ironed out soon. Truly the game of my dreams. I can't believe how beautiful the castle is. I have played a fair few open world games and this is the first time I have seen art direction at this level.

    Remeber when "those people" used to just want to be "left alone" and "treated equal", but now they try to dictate everything we do and say and now what we play? Best game ever! 10/10. If you really want to be "left alone" then lock your door, close the blinds and let me play my game. The whole world isn't gonna walk on eggshells for you few hyper sensitive individuals. Get over it.

    A wonderful game, engrossing and engaging in every way. If you aren’t a fan of the setting, it may not do much for you — but obviously, you probably wouldn’t choose this anyway. But if you are at all interested in the world, this is a slam dunk. The quest and character systems are deep, the world is massive, and most of all, the combat is really well done, and that was a nice surprise. AA wonderful game, engrossing and engaging in every way. If you aren’t a fan of the setting, it may not do much for you — but obviously, you probably wouldn’t choose this anyway. But if you are at all interested in the world, this is a slam dunk.     I am 35 and have been a big gamer all my life. I've played 100's of games in almost all the genre's. This game is a masterpiece and deserves recognition for all the hard work that went into it. Snowflakes can go cry while I'm slaying trolls and riding hippogriffs like a wizarding boss.    … Expand

    Just incredible. The fact that the game came entirely playable without the need for a first-day patch on PS5 is amazing. Great job. It is not every day we get a game as polished as this one.

    The critical reviews of this game based on the political ideology of J.K Rowling are wholly unjustified. This game is phenomenal, and the developers should be encouraged to continue this standard in future games. It is truly one of the most charming gaming experiences I have ever had. 10/10

    A satisfying game that deserves only good ratings. I hope all the "insulted and humiliated" will finally understand that people may have an opinion that may not be the same as theirs. Stop whining and enjoy the game. J.K. Rowling, your Harry Potter world is beautiful

    This is definitely a game of the year contender. I have never watched the movies until 2 weeks ago so I don't know much about the Harry Potter ecosystem but this game is amazing. Lots of stuff to do.

    Purchased after hearing how this game was making everyone angry. I wasn't going to buy before lol. So far got about 6 hours in and man it's so much fun. I'm hoping they'll add quidage at some point though maybe as a DLC? I'd like more interactions in the world though, make it so I can levitate anything, talk to more people etc. Only reason I'm giving 9 stars instead of 10.

I’m 45 hours in only just finished the story and it was amazing i wish I could experience it for the first time all over again.     Hogwarts Legacy is the Harry Potter game I’ve been dreaming of since I was a teenager. I grew up alongside the Harry Potter novels and devoured them all, and I spent the time between book releases reading and writing fanfiction set in the Wizarding World.

    The story’s actually quite interesting and it develops during the whole game. You also progress getting all the spells, monster sack, broom, etc slowly so    Hogwards legacy is such an amazing game. It’s the dream all Harry Potter fans have been dreaming about. The game performs fine, the music is incredible, it feels like I'm playing inside the movies, but a different time period and story, combat is very good but I do wish there was more variety, the world feels huge, memorable characters, graphics are excellent, controls and menus are fine except for spell switching...a bit cumbersome. All in all I think it's one ofI'm very impressed so far.     On a side note, I think it's disgusting a couple of the comments rating a game lower because it has black or trans references or because you don't agree with someone's political views. It's just a game, everyone is different, just enjoy it, worry about yourself, and your life would be happier. I don't agree with the author, but it's irrelevant while I play inside a world I loved watching and reading about throughout a long period of my life.    … Expand

    Amazing game! Simply put without a question the best harry potter game, and easily one of the best open world games made in recent years. If you're a hp fan then this is a must!

    This game is everything I have always wanted in a Harry Potter game. I grew up playing the movie games and the better ones gave you quick flashes of what a good Harry Potter game could actually be.     The game J.K. Rowling deserves.

    What a masterpiece by Portkey Games. To say they have never made a game like this, they did the wizarding world of Hogwarts justice. Looks incredible, plays incredible, sounds incredible (Both PC & PS5, though console is way more optimized as it stands - likely an official launch day patch/drivers for PC.)

    Amazingly full open world with many things to do, awesome NPCs and optional classes.. I’m not really the biggest Harry Potter fan but I still loved this game like any other! 10/10 (I’m 25 hours in right now)

There is a heavy focus on exploration which just feels well done and rewarding with a good mix of puzzles. The combat is very good as well. The beginning obviously is quite basic since you only have a few spells but the further you get in the game with more spells unlocked and with more talents available, the combat just feels very smooth and satisfying. Difficulty is just right for me on normal, at times a bit challenging and at times not so much. The customization of your character is also pretty extensive with a good amount of options to choose from in the beginning and quite a big wardrobe of cosmetics to collect throughout the game. Quests are varied enough for me, they don't feel repetitive and I enjoy doing all the little side things the game has to offer. About the story I can't say much because I'm not super far into it but so far it's fine although nothing groundbreaking here.

    Overall a very enjoyable Adventure/RPG game to play, especially if you love the Harry Potter universe!    … Expand

    Now my review. I have 25 hours now not finish yet as i try to get everything 100% the game plays well, magic works great also the rpg light is fine.     Lived up to the hype, that’s all you need to know. The combat is fun, there are 69 different enemies (don’t believe the review bombers) and the castle is unbelievable to explore. Buy it.

    The Game Looks and feels Amazing. The physics, graphics, gameplay and especially very very Smooth Movement. I am 18 hours into the game and I am totally loving it. When I use to watch YouTube videos. I wasn't satisfied with the magic wand shots at the enemy. But it really is satisfying.

It looks amazing and does such an amazing job of bringing the world to life and letting you experience it in a new and exciting way. I'm 25 hours in and just unlocked beast taming. I get to design my own magical beast rescue and room of requirement for growingOne of the best games I've played in a long time. The game is part puzzle, part combat, part collector, part house builder, part animal breeder. The broom flight feels great and the world itself feels so well crafted. You can go inside every door and unlike most open world games the interiors do not feel cookie cutter. Everything is highly detailed. The combat is also a lot of fun. I had my doubts about a magic only combat system but it works so well and the magic combos end up being a lot of fun especially in some of the harder encounters. Puts Forspoken's magic based combat to shame.

    Don't listen to any reviews giving this game a 1/10 or super low rating because they're hit pieces reviewing JK Rowling as a person because they refuse to actually play the game or accept that it's good because Rowling offended them.    … Expand

The devs have done many things to make the LGBTQ community feel safe and welcomed into the world of hogwarts.     Phenomenal game and experience, enjoyed every moment of it. Fun gameplay, magnificent voice acting and astonishing graphics. Definitely recommended. I think l speak for everyone when i say that everyone wil be playing the game despite what y'all freaks think of JK Rowling hahaha. Stay mad boycotters

And I'm sure glad I did because it's a fantastic game on all fronts. The music, gameplay and graphics are all top notch.     I rarely review on Metacritic but had to come and support this amazing game. I was excited for the game as I love the books and movies, but my word I had no idea! I expected that it would be good, but I had no idea it would be this good. It looks beautiful and captures the world so incredibly well.     I also have this on PC (playing on normal with Xbox one controller) and the PS5 (playing on hard with dual sense obviously) version runs better stick to performance mode. You need those frames thick and fast to survive combat especially on hard difficulty. Both controllers work well, I haven't even tried keyboard and mouse    Great game I've spent my first 6 hours just exploring the castle.

    Having a blast with it right now. Not even a HP fan myself but overall it's a extremely charming game with great music, voice acting, and graphics are pretty great. The combat is really fun as well. A must have for anybody wanting a fun open world game.

    Only problem I see with this game is there are way too many cut scenes, other than that it’s great and could have been a little longer, I have a problem with anyone who gives a game a 10, no game is a perfect 10.

    First day playing hogwarts legacy and I have to say I am very, very impressed. Any Harry Potter fan would love a game where you get to explore hogwarts and this delivers in a massive way.     Hogwarts Legacy has a great character design and could have had a great story too but the story is not so strong. the gameplay feels great and exploration is so entertaining. visually its great and Hogwarts castle is so detailed.

    Hogwarts Legacy is definitely a beautiful-looking game that doesn't have a groundbreaking story, but does have a beautiful world, a fun combat system, broomstick flying, and of course an incredible amount of side quests and missions. [Issue#325]

    It's been a decade since we've had a full Potterverse game, but the wait has been well worth it. Hogwarts Legacy gets just about everything right, with its involving storyline and myriad of main and side quests. Perhaps its finest feature though is Hogwarts itself, providing as much joy in just exploring the halls as performing set tasks. We doubt a single Harry Potter fan will be disappointed. We certainly weren't.
