    The game is a beautiful open world that is alive alot to do. Like alot of side questen and alot other side content to find in the castle and outside the castle. The combat is super fun you have around 26 spells that you can use. Like the 3 unforgivable curses. There is also alot of customization to find like customization for you wand handle.     Don't be put off buying this game especially if your a Harry Potter fan because you'll be missing out on an excellent game. The world has clearly been created by fans as there's so many little details scattered around hogwarts and beyond. The combat is simple to learn but can become more complex as you learn more spells and fight against stronger foes.     This game is Magical! (pun intended) Every aspect of the game has exceeded my expectations. From the production, the combat and the story. Every detail is top notch, and is the Harry Potter game every fan has been dreaming of.

    Great game that’s held back only by some of its facial animations being pretty lackluster. Otherwise I would recommend this game to anyone, don’t let the drama discourage you. It’s worth it

    From the combat feeling great, to the exploration of the castle and outer world, this game has so many things that old and new fans can love. It’s a charming world and the development team has done an excellent job bringing this world to life. A couple of non game-breaking glitches are why I can’t give it a perfect score.

    Can't Beat a game that goes down Memory Lane or Alley. Enjoyed a good chunk of this game and the story and voice acting is great. The mechanics are nothing special, but the open world makes up for some of the repetitive quests and enemies. Overall this game is a gem and gives me the feels when the music swells after cracking locks.     The only flaw Id seen so far is the fps stability sometime, but the truth is Im not sure if its my hardware or the game.
    second thing I seen that im not a fan of, you have an inventory limit, its weird but its great game anyway

    By far one of the best games I’ve played in a long time. I have about 25 hours in Hogwarts Legacy so far and I’m only scratching the surface. The open world is pretty large and absolutely beautiful. If you are a fan of the movies you will most likely enjoy the game. A lot of the settings look just like out of the movies. The combat though not the flashiest feels extremely fluid andBy far one of the best games I’ve played in a long time.     Hogwarts Legacy exceeded most of my expectations during the Early Access. The graphics and attention to detail are stunning and the Hogwarts castle, grounds, and surroundings are beautifully crafted with endless interactions, quests, activities, puzzles, etc. However, I must admit that the game is poorly optimized; with a 3080 RTX and 32GB of RAM, I'm barely able to run the game on HighHogwarts Legacy exceeded most of my expectations during the Early Access. The graphics and attention to detail are stunning and the Hogwarts castle, grounds, and surroundings are beautifully crafted with endless interactions, quests, activities, puzzles, etc. However, I must admit that the game is poorly optimized; with a 3080 RTX and 32GB of RAM, I'm barely able to run the game on High without the lingering FPS drops which can get pretty frustrating, but hopefully that is a point of focus for the development team to address in the near future. On the other hand, the character customization is fairly extensive allowing the User to create a character unique to them; the clothing/aesthetic options are pretty vast as well. Being a long time Harry Potter fan, I enjoyed the story for the most part and the spell casting and gameplay mechanics are smooth outside of the FPS drops, if not somewhat repetitive. The open world is massive and well populated with constant discoveries to be made. Crossing my fingers that they're able to integrate quidditch as they continue to improve the broom flying mechanics and make the game more optimized. Overall, it's a great game as it is with loads of potential if the current gameplay issues are effectively tended to.… Expand

    An absolutely superb game! The creators and devs put so much love into this game. The world building and exploration is incredible and the combat is simple but effective. The story and character creation is brilliant. There are minor optimisation issues but I have no doubt these will be ironed out with updates. I’m so impressed by this game and am thoroughly enjoying my time at Hogwarts!

Some pop in I noticed on the ps5 but it never hurt the game. The graphic details help that, they stand out giving it a lived in feel. The game play is great. Spell casting is satisfying, even a duel club to join. My problems is really in item management. You have a limited slots like resident evil , yes that small. But there’s ways to sell or destroy old underpowered items. At the point in game I’m at I can walk in and out and around almost anywhere I see. I’ve found ways up mountains and into a lake swimming and diving . The diving is only spots of bubbling water. Which I feel is a ok thing, the meat of the game is hogwarts. If your a fan or casual gamer you should find this fun and interesting. Dare I say enchantingly great. As for the review bombing other who hate jk Rowling . Thoes reviews are pretty easy to spot. Ignore them. They say many thing not about the game or so overinflated I’d gues by reading them they didn’t play it. It’s a boy who cried wolf scenario with them.… Expand

    I am about 25 hours into Hogwarts Legacy and absolutely loving it. So much love was put into Hogwarts and the NPCs. The cosmetics are beautiful and transmog is available right from the start. The graphics are great for a game coming to other consoles as well and on Unreal Engine 4. I would love to see further expansions and a potential second game in UE5.

    I preordered this game and I’ve never even seen a Harry Potter movie. The game is phenomenal. You don’t have to be a fan to play this game because it is based 100 before Harry Potter. Plus I preordered it to help boost sales.

    Awesome game and has me hooked in one of those "just one more quest" kind of ways. The production values are there. Performance on PC can use a good patch or two to fix some of the framerate drops but it mostly runs smoothly. Don't beleive the controversy, the game is not transphobic or anti-semitic, anyone who tells you this is just pushing an agenda and clearly reaching.

    After certain games, I decided not to set my expectation too high. Avalanche software hasn't developed any big game like this. It was natural to expect an unpolished and even a bad game. Considering all this I was quite sceptical about this game. Nevertheless Hogwarts Legacy managed to surprise me in a good manner and definitely exceeded my expectations.

    The most intriguing part was    After certain games, I decided not to set my expectation too high. Avalanche software hasn't developed any big game like this. It was natural to expect an unpolished and even a bad game. Considering all this I was quite sceptical about this game. Nevertheless Hogwarts Legacy managed to surprise me in a good manner and definitely exceeded my expectations.

    The most intriguing part was combat, it's really hard to come up with a combat system that suits the Wizarding World. And one can easily say that Avalanche Software nailed it. Spellcasting feels natural, but the combat itself is smooth and can be really challenging at times especially if you play at high difficulty.

    The RPG part of the game isn't the best side. The skill tree is there, but it doesn't offer you a great deal of flexibility in character development as some other RPG games do. Though it's definitely not the worst skill tree, while you can't create "builds" you can emphasize the character's skills on certain spells.

    The game looks astonishingly beautiful. Technically it's not the best graphics in the industry, but the art design is amazing. Hogwarts itself is a masterpiece of location design. It definitely manages to bring to the Wizarding World.

    While I like the most aspects of the game some can really frustrate me:
    1) Side quests aren't really that versatile, most of them are just bring that, do that. At first, these activities can be really fun but they grow repetitive rather quickly.
    2) Real-time growth of plants and brewing of potions? Really? Is this some kind of Chinese MMORPG?
    3) It can be buggy and the performance isn't flawless at all times.

    In conclusion, Hogwarts Legacy isn't a masterpiece, but it can easily bring you to your childhood and deliver the magical experience we all desire. An easy 8.5 out of 10.    … Expand

    I'm not a fan of the saga, but this game has made me want to read more about hogwarts, in terms of mechanics, I love being able to execute combos, hopefully in the future I can choose more spells to perform multiple combos, like in a game hahaha fights.

    Its landscapes full of magic are excellent, I need to be able to talk more with the npc's, I like to venture a lot, maybe there will be    I'm not a fan of the saga, but this game has made me want to read more about hogwarts, in terms of mechanics, I love being able to execute combos, hopefully in the future I can choose more spells to perform multiple combos, like in a game hahaha fights.

    It's not a perfect game, but to every fan of Harry Potter it's a dream come true, a vast open-world, an interesting story, gorgeous graphics, good and fun characters, and an incredibly fun combat system, it doesn't do many things new, but it's a great game and i personally loved it.

    That’s a really good game about Garry Potter universe, interesting main history, some of side quests are boring but this fine, can be excused. I’v meet a couple bugs (not critical). Fight system it’s something amazing, i think too much, how developers make the fight system of this universe, i find this question so important and difficult.

    Simply a clean game, made with love. Could've been given a tiny bit more freedom, but also good as it is. Hope Quidditch will come in future with a DLC. Combat is pretty good, was thinking it will be raw and unfinished from videos.

    One of the greatest thing made by devs is, you can transfigure them. You were not forced to wear ugly ones cause of their stats.

I'm not much of a Harry Potter fan but I can just feel the effort and passion that went into making this game in every corner I explore and it really motivates me to discover more :) I'm hoping the devs add multiplayer. One gripe... There is a minor loading hitch when entering large rooms through a door. Couple dropped frames. It's fairly seamless on PS5 if not for this. I imagine the PS4 would absolutely hate running this game but a decent PC... Xbox Series... PS5. Go for it.… Expand

    Purchased after hearing how this game was making everyone angry. I wasn't going to buy before lol. So far got about 6 hours in and man it's so much fun. I'm hoping they'll add quidage at some point though maybe as a DLC? I'd like more interactions in the world though, make it so I can levitate anything, talk to more people etc. Only reason I'm giving 9 stars instead of 10.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is such a great game! I have gotten the platinum, memorized every hall in the massive, sprawling, and graphically superb Hogwarts castle! And just started again, last time I was in Hufflepuff, this time I'm going for Ravenclaw. Oh also, definitely complete Sebastian Sallows quest line, (Avada Kedavra is awesome)! The world is massive and jam-packed with interesting side quests, the recreation of Hogsmeade is also stunning. This is my definitive Harry Potter game! The broom mechanics feel fluid and fun, so do the Hippogriffs, Thestrals, (if you bought the deluxe edition), and the Graphorn. Rankrok is intimidating, the story is not anything special but it holds up and is still quite decent. The room of requirement is awesome, and I love the fantastical beasts that you can groom and basically liberate after you "rescue" them. Hogwarts has so many secrets and recreated places too, at first it may seem overwhelming! But in a good way! The first secret place I found was the kitchens after you tickle the pear and that is when I told myself I loved this game! The field guide pages are not very annoying either, surprisingly neither are the Merlin trials! In total this game is fun, fluid, nostalgic, and quite graphically impressive.     Ever since year 8 and being forced to read Harry Potter 1 and watch the first movie for english class I have been a fan of the series.     This game is incredible, they really nailed the feeling of being a student in Hogwarts. The combat is very fun it's different than I expected and takes some getting use to. Story has been really good so far, the main thing that keeps pulling me back though is this world it's so magical with so many cool puzzles and things to find.

I really liked the main characters of the game and I didn't expect to like any of them when I started the game, but as I played more and more, I started to actually care about them. However, I really wished that you could interact more with them and do some extra activities with them outside of the quests.

    The map design and environments were amazing, specially the Hogwarts castle. In most quests you will visit a different and unique location and there were many locations that I would just pause and look around. In addition, the way that they used the room of requirement was very smart. You could customize everything, create potions, grow plants, and keep your pets there and use their feather for your upgrades.

    I think if they keep the core parts and improve the weak aspects, the next game is going to be goty level. My score for this game is 8 and I recommend it specially if you are a fan of the series.    … Expand

    Not being able to (Sell All or mark selected / sell selected gear) is just annoying.

    Not alot of enemies, which can make it kinda tedious, and waaaaaay to much gear, which then makes it just a numbers fest and the excitment of looting a '' so called legandary'' just does not feel like looting a ''legendary item'' . Would have been nice with less and more specialized gear.

    Running around with 30k gold and nothing to spend it on felt weird.

    But with all that said, if you like fantasy, magic , adventure or RPGs, its definitely worth the money!

    I've never been a fan of Harry Potter, but this game is so well done, so immersive and so satisfying that it took me back to my childhood when I first saw the Philosopher's Stone.
    The biggest problem that I see sometimes is that you lose the experience because of so much diversity in one place where it is set in 1890. For that they had to make a sequel to the original story.

    What does Hogwarts Legacy excel at? It excels at “collecting” stuff. You collect spells, potions, and complete a list of tasks for rewards. The other part Hogwarts Legacy does very well is its combat. I was very skeptical of it going in, but both the simple puzzles and the combat are satisfying; but also very repetitive.

    The game’s a lot of fun. It’s a little cutscene heavy at the start, but a lot went into the music and art to make players feel like they really are at Hogwarts. For example, each dorm room has unique architecture. It’s nothing short of awesome.

    The story and characters were, for the most part, great. I appreciated the thought that went into some puns made by the characters and the lore scattered throughout the world kept me engaged. I found myself rooting for some of the characters. For me, the game really picked up once I could fly.

    Tutorials were barebones, which often meant it took a little extra time to figure out. The Alohomora spell in particular I couldn’t figure out until I looked it up on the internet. Another aspect of the game that fell a little short was the quantity of voice actors. It felt like all the villains had the same one or two voices. I know that the protagonist had a limited number of voices to choose from. I can understand some overlap, but it felt a little like missed potential there.

    Wandering around the school or interacting with characters, you always do so *alone*. While I may have liked certain characters, and some characters may have invited me to do a couple things, I didn’t really feel like I was making friends. This led me to believe that I would prefer a social-focused take on Hogwarts. Fun as the combat is, I’d prefer to get into mischief and interact with other characters.

    The last criticism I have is how the theme was disrupted because the game was trying too hard to be diverse. There were too many accents in the game. I wanted to feel like I was in Great Britain, but you have transfer students and transfer professors who are given the limelight for good chunks of the game, and I would have rather stuck with the British accent OR gone to a magical school in another country and stuck to THAT accent. If it were a Wizarding school in France, then I want a French culture, if it was one in Korea, I’d want a Korean culture—I’d be irritated if English characters weaved their way in as an integral part of the game. I want a celebration of culture. And I want an imperfect cast of characters—that includes artistic license to create good and evil characters without things getting political.

    In conclusion, this is a good game. This game IS very diverse. Improve the secondary characters, or the puzzles, or increase the number of voice actors and added quidditch, or improve the “school” feel of the game and you’d have a masterpiece. I’ve heard rumors of an intended sequel, but to capture my interest, the game must improve its core gameplay by making the game feel less like a repetitive collection grind.    … Expand

    Story was ok but as a huge potter fan I really enjoyed the atmosphere. I’m excited to see what happens in the future for this franchise.

    The Hogwarts castle is indeed well build and fascinating to explore. And the combat Is also satisfying.

    What would have been a so-so game with its familiar open-world mechanics, story & gameplay is elevated by a meticulously crafted and living world full of beauty & lore. Couldn't put it down.

    Hogwarts Legacy has a great character design and could have had a great story too but the story is not so strong. the gameplay feels great and exploration is so entertaining. visually its great and Hogwarts castle is so detailed.

    Hogwarts Legacy is definitely a beautiful-looking game that doesn't have a groundbreaking story, but does have a beautiful world, a fun combat system, broomstick flying, and of course an incredible amount of side quests and missions. [Issue#325]

    It's been a decade since we've had a full Potterverse game, but the wait has been well worth it. Hogwarts Legacy gets just about everything right, with its involving storyline and myriad of main and side quests. Perhaps its finest feature though is Hogwarts itself, providing as much joy in just exploring the halls as performing set tasks. We doubt a single Harry Potter fan will be disappointed. We certainly weren't.
