    I am 35 and have been a big gamer all my life. I've played 100's of games in almost all the genre's. This game is a masterpiece and deserves recognition for all the hard work that went into it.     The visuals are stunning and the gameplay is challenging. I'd recommend this one for anyone even slightly into gaming and fantasy themes. Being a fan of the potterverse is not at all necessary to have a great time.

    Likely many others, I read all the HP books when they came out and wished I lived in the HP universe when I was a kid. This game captures of the magic of the universe while also making it darker. The combat system is different, but once you get the hang of it, it’s smooth. It’s not perfect as picking a specific target can be a mess in a crowd. The gear system isn’t the best either, but luckily when you get to a specific point it’s easy to upgrade everything to be exactly what you want. Flying around on the broom and the easy fast traveling system makes maneuvering the map a good time. Want to explore? Fly around. Want to get right to where you want to go? Fast travel and then fly the remaining distance. I loved the game, beat it and completed over 90% of the challenges this past week. I really hope it gets turned into a tv show that goes as dark as the game goes.

    As for bad reviews go, if any negative review starts off by speaking of JK Rowling, take it with a grain of salt.    … Expand

    Just incredible. The fact that the game came entirely playable without the need for a first-day patch on PS5 is amazing. Great job. It is not every day we get a game as polished as this one.

    I am a man of few words. But this game at every levels from the ground up is so much fun. The graphics, gameplay, combat, story everything is top notch. I have no clue why it’s not a higher score. I think it’s perfect.

    The critical reviews of this game based on the political ideology of J.K Rowling are wholly unjustified. This game is phenomenal, and the developers should be encouraged to continue this standard in future games. It is truly one of the most charming gaming experiences I have ever had. 10/10

    I have have been playing it sense the 7th. Hours in and still tons of wonder in the word of Hogwarts. I look forward to exploring. As far as the controversy. Everyone crying about Hogwarts are over grown children that have fabricated a controversy to try and hurt JK. The problem is JK is a raging leftist herself, and supports the LGBT community. But there has been a lot of problems withI have have been playing it sense the 7th. Hours in and still tons of wonder in the word of Hogwarts. I look forward to exploring. As far as the controversy. Everyone crying about Hogwarts are over grown children that have fabricated a controversy to try and hurt JK. The problem is JK is a raging leftist herself, and supports the LGBT community. But there has been a lot of problems with men and young boy identifying as a girl or woman. Who have attracted women in a venerable state in bathrooms alone. You can try and deny it but it is dangerous. On top of dealing with someone who's mental reality is destroyed, we have to just shut up, and expect it as far as the trans community is concerned. Simply JK doesn't agree with this. She thinks it's would be appropriate for them to have there own bathrooms. She still supports the trans community. Truthfully i don't or at least not anymore. Now that the LGBT community has decided well now your kids are mine to influence. I could care less what happens to any of them. Maybe the trans community and those that supported them should have quit while they barley got ahead.… Expand

    This brings me back to the good old days of RPGs. This fills the void if you have ever wanted to experience a being the Wizard/Witch fantasy. What better source material then the Wizarding World. Strong contender for GOTY. Don't let any of the social complaints detract from what Avalanche has created here.

    This game is amazing. The detail is incredible, and walking about the castle is a delight. Flying on a broom, the Room of Requirement, casting spells, solving puzzles, there is just so much to love about this game!

    This game is pure magic. I cannot explain the emotion I’ve felt when I first played it. From getting sorted into my house to the detailed and amazing world of Hogwarts to the gameplay, everything in this game is beautifully crafted. I cannot fault anything in this game. It’s a shame there are people who hate this game. I pity them and feel sorry for them. They are seriously patheticThis game is pure magic. I love just flying on my brum and exploring the world for dungeons because the combat in this game it's also really good. You have lots of spells and other items based on the fictional universe and it's so magical for me that you can use them. I am definitely going to play it more than once.… Expand

    All I hoped for. Amazing game, great story, huge open world to explore. It would be nice with some lighter face shades, as my character looks like she has just come back from long beach holidays (so not much like me), but that's a small thing.

    The game does an amazing job translating the world to gameplay and exploration. We have to keep in mind the challenges that they had to make wand combat, flying, brewing potions, gardening and caring for magical creatures dynamic and fun! It is not a perfect game, but it IS the game that fans were hoping and waiting for!

    One of the best experiences I've had with gaming in a while. Not even counting in the nostalgia, this game is a masterpiece. Even if you're not a fan of the wizarding world, even if you've never seen the Harry Potter movies or read the books, Hogwarts Legacy is a game you should play.

    Fantastic feeling and visual efects.i played hours and still want some more of that world. I feel like on drugs. And after I tried I need more... Another mystery another puzzle. Not the hard one but still making my brain work some more than usual.

    Great game! Finally a decent Harry Potter universe game. Worth every cent.

    Is has some minor bugs, completely common in realeases of open world games. Once fixed, it's just perfect.

    Story is amazing, and the combat is so smooth and fun. It’s amazing to mess around with all the different spells and potions. I recommend this to gamers of all types, truly one of the games of all time.

    I am not an HP fan myself but I find this game to be more than that. From solving puzzles to battling orcs and dark wizards, or just completing the story and traversing the openworld aspect gives you a sense of accomplishment that is quite remarkable for a wizarding world game. Live your dream and be wizard! Sucks there's no quidditch but quid it!

    Childhood dreams come true. Exploring the castle on its own could be a whole game. The combat is addicting, exploration is rewarding. The story is engaging, the characters are interesting. The graphics are beautiful and the score is magical. It is truly everything I could’ve ever wanted in this game.

I have to say this is the best game to be released since GTA 5, it truly feels next gen and most of the characters are well written. Its hard to put in words my surprise at the overall quality of Hogwarts Legacy game, I never expected anything even close to this. A massive open world with absolutely stunning detail of animation, graphics and sound.     I’ve never enjoyed a game this much since elden ring. My childhood fantasy coming to life and it’s more than I could ever dream of. I’ve always wanted to explore the magical castle, I often find myself wandering around and getting lost. The whole experience is just absolutely magical.

    Hogwarts Legacy is the Harry Potter game I’ve been dreaming of since I was a teenager. I grew up alongside the Harry Potter novels and devoured them all, and I spent the time between book releases reading and writing fanfiction set in the Wizarding World.

    It's an amazing game that brings great storyline and the world of Hogwarts right to your TV. The gameplay is somehow excellent for both beginners and advanced players. It has so much depth and details that you can spend hours just walking around admiring everything. Cannot wait for the sequel with quidditch!

    What an incredible achievement for Avalanche Software’s first AAA RPG. i thoroughly enjoyed my 50+ hours with the game. Can’t wait for the inevitable sequel.

    One of the first games in years that has kept me coming back every single day. 55 hours in and not even done with the main story. I plan to play through it at least once in each house. Game of the year hands down, so far.

    Hogwarts Legacy provides an expansive world of magic and mystery. With a main story that is both whimsical and gritty, and over a hundred side quests, there are countless reasons to ply out an enchanting life in the game. Occasional graphical issues are noticeable but overall negligible to the abundant sense of wonder. Hogwarts Legacy is a spellbinding and enchanting experience not to be missed.

    I just beat the game and wow, what an accomplishment on the part of the dev team! For a developer with no prior experience on open world games, they did a stellar game. Now I just hope they will work on expansions / DLCs that will bring us quidditch!

    Amazing game. Excited about the future of this series as this game has a ton of room for expansion. The current iteration of the game is everything I have dreamed about since a kid and more. I actually watch the cut scenes and I enjoy the combat way more than I expected.

    I have to say that when this game was first announced; I was not really interested, even though I watched the movies growing up, but thankfully that changed pretty quickly when I saw some of the gameplay back in January, and thank God I did because I loved this game from start to finish. It has beautiful graphics, a good story, fun and engaging gameplay, and multiple side activities.     This game was a big surprise for me. I've never been a big fan of Harry Potter but I saw how fast this was selling so I thought I would give it a shot and I have to say this game is so much fun. The combat is super satisfying and the story is epic in scale oooooh its so good BUY THIS GAME!!!

    Hands down one of the best games I've ever played, and it comes from someone with decades of gaming experience. I have 90h+ under my belt and just started a third house character to get me closer to seeing everything that this marvel has to offer.

I suspect the negative reviews on this page are from people who have not actually played the game but who wish to spread their soulless negativity onto a wonderful game, but rest assured that they have not deterred me (nor anyone II've loved the world of Harry Potter since I was a kid, so having the opportunity to play as a character in Hogwarts has been nostalgia-filled, endless fun.     Hogwarts Legacy has a great character design and could have had a great story too but the story is not so strong. the gameplay feels great and exploration is so entertaining. visually its great and Hogwarts castle is so detailed.

    It's been a decade since we've had a full Potterverse game, but the wait has been well worth it. Hogwarts Legacy gets just about everything right, with its involving storyline and myriad of main and side quests. Perhaps its finest feature though is Hogwarts itself, providing as much joy in just exploring the halls as performing set tasks. We doubt a single Harry Potter fan will be disappointed. We certainly weren't.
