    -Unexpected +24 hours extra maintenance, with no communication of what is going on

    Base game is okay and this can be still fixed:
    -More free content released
    -Credit system overhaul

    What will become of "name" of gran turismo?

    It's really saddening what they did to the game. They waited reviews to go up and the initial selling weeks where most of the selling occurs to update the game now and destroy it's economy to earn more with micro transactions. This is such an abusive practice and should not go unpriced. Sony and Poliphony must understand this is not the way to go.     Requiring an online connection for single player content is a poor choice at best, but when maintenance causes 24hr+ outages it's simply unacceptable. GT7 needs some serious reforms before it can be considered worth the money paid for it (even more so if you purchased the 25th Anniversary edition)

    Game has been literally unplayable in the single player mode and the developer gives no indication of urgency. Even once servers are back up, you are always at risk of it becoming unplayable with any disconnect between you and Polyphony.

    Servers down for maintenance for numerous hours when I just want to play single player, an abhorrrent display of microtransactions and loot boxes and very lacking single player content in general. The game itself is great, fantastic driving and design, but these issues need to be fixed asap or the game is doomed for me.

    As someone who played GT1 as his first game in his entire life and loving it all the way, rightfully so this is a very sad time to witness the death of the exact franchise. GT7 could have been amazing but Sony and PD had other plans in mind. It is not what people love the franchise for all the way through from singleplayer to multiplayer. Its a shame.     Graphics and gameplay worth the >80 rating BUT too few content. Online access needed. Reward system is rigged. Worst grind for expensive cars and parts to promote MTX. Disgraceful design. Worst game in the 25 year brand history. Dont buy until it is cheaper and updated.

    29 hours downtime for a Triple A game worth $125AUD not long out if release. Now it seems to be the game is pushing towards micro-transactions with the nerfing of credits. Upset have played this franchise since I was a child.

    The fact that you need to be online to play single player races is absolutely ridiculous. Especially when it's now been inaccesible for over 24hours. The greed of trying to get people to pay actual cash for in-game cars is just nonsense. This would truly be an incredible game but now I'm just disappointed I bought it in the first place.

    Finally got a PS5 to play my all-time favourite series, and found that I can't play it because servers have been offline. Now I read about the introduction of micro transactions, which ruins the whole fun of grinding races to buy better and better cars. So disappointing from what looked like to be the pinnacle of sim racing.

    It’s really unacceptable of Polyphony to make changes to the amount of credits being given for races when they also sell in game money. It’s just as scummy that they made the game have to connect online and then the servers are done for most of a day.

    This is a Sony first party exclusive game! It is not Candy Crush!

    Two weeks in and the 'always online' is a real issue. We haven't been able to actually progress in this game due to days long outage. This would not be a huge problem if we could play some of the game offline. Fans have spent money on this product and it is basically unplayable.

    Updates make it harder to win money for cars.

I was warned about it in reviews before purchasing the game but when I saw it with my own eyes I was surprised how far they took it. Second the credit grinding is a drag and you cant sell cars. To charge a ton of money for a game and then offer in app purchases is a scandal.     Time is the one thing you never get back. And the time that I spend playing the game should be spend playing and enjoying the game and not grinding. And I shouldn’t have to pay more than the initial $90 CDN.

    If Polyphony wanted to release a freemium game, then the base game should have been that… free!

    It’s just bad business. Shame.

    Frustrating, best not to start. Once you do, it will take you a day or so to unlock all the content then realise you will never earn enough money to buy the 66 Jaguar....(or if you do, then congrats, but then not buy another 20m car). Also I refuse micro transactions to buy cars.

    They decreased payouts for racing, aiming to push for more micro transactions. I will be requesting a full refund.

    Unacceptable. My first time playing Gran Turismo and all the issues and problems, make me never want to play it or future releases ever again. Look at Assetto Corsa, that is a game for the people. GT is now a Sony money theft. And god sake, fix the rally physics.

    Steaming pile of feces. First they hid the microtransactions until release date so they would get better review scores, then 2 weeks later they drop the payout from races to push players toward buying their microtransactions. Can't sell unwanted cars either, for obvious reasons.

    Created a metacritic account just to post this review. Who the hell thought it was a good idea to not only make the game always online, but then also make it near impossible to grind out for high-end vehicles without forking over ridiculous amounts of real world cash for in-game currency? Screw microtransactions.

    Shame on you Polyphony Digital, Gran Turismo 7 isn't a F2P game.

And with patch 1.07 it becomes even more of a grind to get ingame credits. As a long time fan of the series it makes me really sad that greed took the upper hand, it really is a shame.… Expand

    My first review here... I have bought aniversary edition for approx 120€... SONY, you piece of trash ! are you serious about forcing me to spend extra money to be able to buy some new cars ? I am casual player and I dont have 5 hours per day to grind... I am returning this to store (luckily, I did not have time to unpack my game yet...) 120€ for "pay to play experience" you hit new bottom...

    Take a look at GRID LEGENDS, thats a proper racing game: offline playable, no microtransactions.

When some of the cars could cost you hundreds of real world dollars to buy in a game, I think it’s fair to say that greed is the focus of the game; certainly not cars. This game is a nice diversion, but I will promptly toss this on the shelf once Forza Motorsport is released.

    Generally a good game, but the demanded always on system totally ruines it. We now have server problems for the past 24 hours. You can play the arcade mode, but you can‘t earn credits, nor exp. You can‘t make progress in the story races or use your own cars.

    I've been a fan of GT series since ps1 and the original GT.
    I've played all the games for endless hours, skipped GT sport due to no career mode, and was waiting for GT7 to be released.
    I got the GT7 anniversary addition and a PS5 just for GT7, i'm very sorry for what this iconic game has become..

And even compared to that, the physics seem to be all over the place as cars lose grip arbitrarily at high speed and rally stage jumps send you into the shadow realm on the regular. To make matters even worse, corporate greed has infested this already lackluster game with microtransactions and as of yesterday's patch, for which maintenance hasn't even concluded 24 hours later, leaving everyone stranded and unable to play due to the game being online even for its single player component, earning the credits required to purchase the most expensive cars, which let me tell you, are really bloody expensive, has become a sisyphean grind that could take you almost an entire day of running the same awful race. As it stands, this game is a monument to anti-consumer attitude that can easily rival some of the worst abominations created by the likes of EA. If Sony cares about its reputation they will need to take action to solve the aforementioned issues, because otherwise this game could easily become its very own Star Wars Battlefront 2 and soil their record of integrity and dedication to quality.     Gran Turismo 7 has a lot of good and plenty of great. The use of DualSense and the particularly well-tuned loading is exemplary, and there's a huge amount of work behind the game, with a lot of detail that's almost hard to believe at times. [Issue#318]
