    Predatory F2P style microtransactions in a 70 dollar game. They just released a patch to nerf race rewards and lengthen the grind because not enough people were buying their BS microtransactions, and this patch has caused the game's servers to be down for over 24 hours, rendering the game unplayable as 90% of its content requires an internet connection (including single player modes).     This event gives a gamers a preview of the GT7's future. In a few years, when Sony and Polyphony Digital decide that it is no longer profitable to keep the servers running, any gamer who wants to experience a truly incredible racing sim will be entirely out of luck.

    GT player since PS1 times here, I'm hugely disappointed in GT7. Already asked for a refund due to false advertising (they advertise you can sell cars...). Such focus on micro-transactions in game that expensive is a scam. Total lack of communication from PD during the extreme server outage - why does it prevent single player? This is just a predatory design focused solely on micro-transactions.

    This game is literally a scam now. Paid 79.99 euros for a game with mobile mechanics and you have to buy currency packs with real money if you do not want this game to literally be your second job.

    And the credits earned every race was reduced to literally half in the new patch. Are you freaking kidding me?!! **** this game.

    Bought the game over 24 hours ago. Haven't even been able to play because servers have been down the whole time, and they don't even let you play SINGLE PLAYER without a CONNECTION. I feel completely robbed, I wish I had bought a physical copy so I could get my money back. All excitement I had is gone after this joke of a technical issue.

    Outrageous. I bought this game at launch and Sony thanks me by pushing out an update to ruin the in-game economy and force players towards microtransactions. That and this mostly singleplayer experience requiring an internet connection. I am never buying another Sony game at launch again. I refuse to support anti-consumer practices like this.

    Can’t play without a server connection. Predatory micro-transactions.

    Single player Races= no qualifiers, always last place, rolling starts where you pass as many cars for five or more laps. Rinse and repeat. Doesn’t matter what skill or how many gold medal you have, you are last! This is not a racing game.

    A horrible game. 70$ for them to force you to buy their in game currency for real money PD got greedy. for a mainline gran turismo game this is missing a lot of content and it’s got less in it then GT sport so gt7 isvery dull and plain, new update completely broke the game and ruined the in game economy.. highly wouldn’t recommend this game a complete waste of money and a pure disappointment

    I wanted this game to jump in and race online, total nightmare in my opinion. Lobbies all dead! Sport mode requires constant credit spending, the game doesn't respect your time, then the update drops and it's even worse! I don't understand how they think this would all work, I'm afraid this is the new cyberpunk. I deeply regret buying this game... disgraceful.

The physics are truly awful, with rear wheel drive cars being undrivable and randomly throwing you into the wall (usually on last lap) with no warning.     Adding always on-line as mandatory, and increasing the grind to obtain the in game currency. And worst, doing that after the media reviews appraising the game, configures FRAUD and abuse of their customers and fans good will. SONY just nerfed the Gran Turismo IP.

    The game is average, the graphics are barely worthy of being called next gen. Also don’t get me started on the MicroTransactions, buying some cars could cost upwards of £99 in actual money. This game is broken, and I mean literally, for the last 24hours since the latest patch it’s been unplayable as the servers are down, this is poor for a game that costs £69.99

So...as you can see from the other reviews microtransactions and always online are ever so present in this game and it obviously brings about some very unfavorable feelings. The actual game though like playing it is pretty spectacular. Great tuning options and courses and layouts are sweet. Weather is so nuce too. But PD and Sony really are going to regret what theyve done with this game...a lot of longtime fans are giving up on it. Deservingly so. Servers are currently down for who knows what...but hey KoFXV just shadow dropped DLC...so more time for that now. :) Also gtplanet forums have some dope memes about the mess this is. And...a ton of ppl arguing on the internet too...so...yea...… Expand

    I have been a long term fan of Gran Turismo, growing up with GT1 and playing every game through the years. The day I received GT7, I completed the licenses with all gold and started the challenges. Completed a few races and what not and within the first few days of playing, found myself earning around 3 million. The icing on the cake is the large "buy more credits here" after each race completion. Polyphony aren't even shy about how they're practically forcing you to spend real money... Keeping in mind it's £15 for 2mil in game credits which is nothing. Don't get me started on the roulette spins... After 70 or so pins, I am yet to get anything bar the last place prize out of 5 possible prizes. Disgustingly rigged. The driving itself is superb, fun, addictive and down right beautiful at times. However the fun is locked behind a gigantic rigged paywall. Also... I spent 1 mil on a car that I was later given and you CANNOT sell cars … Expand

    Gran Turismo 7 looks gorgeous, and drives brilliantly. It is fun. But it is also abhorrent because despite costing £70 at release, the developers don't think this is enough and the balance between received credits and car/upgrade costs has shifted massively since previous games. Not content with this, when people started sharing optimal races online that helped offset these actions, the developer released a patch to nerf the rewards in those races. Instead, what they want you to do is buy credits using more real-world currency because otherwise the grind in this game is very real and painful.

    Add to this that even if you want to just enjoy the single-player experience, you cannot do that without being online. "So what?" you might say, "Getting online is easy these days!". Well mostly it is, yes, but it's all rendered irrelevant if the PD servers you need to connect to are unavailable for 2 days. Like now. So the £70 game you bought cannot be played at all, not even in single player mode, because the developer has taken the server down for "maintenance".

    This game could have been amazing. As I say, it looks and drives amazing when you can actually play it and when you can afford a car you like. But sadly, doing either of these things is far from easy. I'll be doing something I've never done with a console game before because even bad purchases I suck up to support game development normally, but this is such scummy behaviour from the developer that this will be going back to Amazon for a refund.     Requires always online, even for single player. when server is down, the game is unplayable. the whole game is made for MICROTRANSACTION. One Jaguar costs 12Mio. Cr. so you need to grind 22 to 26hrs. in races, or spend 120€/$ for ONE car. its ridiculous. worst policy I've ever seen. even worse than EA.

GT7 was the first game I was really excited for on Ps5, and I am one of the few that seems to have really enjoyed the menu book, but I sort of thought it would be an introduction, I was expecting all the traditional big high level races to appear afterwards, you know, the endurance races and the F1 style stuff and the really high paying races. But no. There's nothing. I'm kind of in shock. I mean maybe it'll be added later but - doesn't that just scream half baked/unfinished?? Why are the licences for these races in the game but there are no races to compete in??? Then as I'm looking through all the cars to potentially buy (bearing in mind that I'm on a fairly limited budget despite completing the career) it's clear that there are almost no new cars after 2017 - isn't this crazy? I thought we'd have all manner of new cars and special editions etc, but the roster is incredibly plain/unexciting compared to even older forza games. What's the difference between this and GT sport for cars that you actually want to drive?

    Then lastly, decreasing the already low race payouts via an update??? This is absolute madness, there are no big high paying races like there used to be on older games, and now you're reducing the amount of credits from already low amounts. Obviously trying to push people towards microtransactions. It's actually disgusting.

    I've ended up just ranting here but there are too many people let down by this game so I hope some attention is paid to someone even if not to me. It's a massive shame and lifelong fans feel completely let down, mistreated and betrayed.    … Expand

Before the update I would have recommended the game but now I just feel cheated and as you can read, so do a lot of people. MTX does not belong in a game we paid full price for. You cannot sell cars for credits like you could in every other GT game.

    THe complete game is a grind and they make it impossible to sell cars, patched the game after reviews to make it (even) harder to make money.     Bought this Thursday, came home poped it in, installing (for a looong time), finally booting up, servers offline, no worries I'll just do single player. BUT YOU CANT. Server maintenance has been going on for more than 24 h now! Once I will be able to play I will surely also find out about horrible microtransaction.

Enabling micro-transactions after critic reviews are up and then making in-game economy terrible - forcing users to spend money to avoid pointless grinds with an outdated AI. Even online races bring almost nothing to the table, great way to get people into Sport mode there (/s).

    What else can I say besides online only is stupid, it’s impossible to buy any good cars without grinding for hours or paying with real money, and I can’t even play because the servers are down. They owe everyone a refund, this is atrocious. It’s a shame because the actual gameplay is really fun.

    An incredible game that has been utterly wrecked by the online-only requirement and reward reductions that were implemented after reviewers gave out their scores. The game has now been unplayable for two days straight as a result. A new low for Polyphony and Sony. :(

    Ok i love driving in this game and all the customization that it has. BUT the always online, the constant micro transactions make it not so much fun. On the latest patch, they lowered all the credits you can earn on every race so you would be FORCED to buy the micro transactions. One example is that theres a car that cost 16 $ million.     Always online? With this last “maintenance on the servers” it have been prove that is a very bad idea for a single player game. I hope they rethink about the pay for the races and stop being greedy with the micro transactions. The game is average good, but this issues make it far worse than other games.

    Nunca pensé que le daría un 4 a un Gran Turismo. El principal motivo son los micropagos y la dificultad de conseguir moneda IN GAME. Es absurdo pagar 80 euros por un juego y que te hagan pasar de nuevo por caja (Indefinidamente) Para mi esto le resta 5 puntos y otro punto por que los gráficos cumplen sin más.     For more than 10% of the game's lifespan, it has been impossible to play.
    For the entire week I have owned the game, certain aspects have been completely broken by patches.
    On first play, 2 hours of installs, updates and waiting were required.
    Don't buy it until it's on sale. Maybe by then the issues will be fixed.

Die wenigsten Menschen haben Probleme damit wenn's länger dauert, aber ein regelmäßiges Feedback darf da nicht fehlen.

    The game has been down for 30 hours. You also lower the credit rewards, add in microtransactions, and make the expensive cars unreachable Shame on you guys. I honestly want a refund. I would guess others feel the same.

    I want to say the core of the game is amazing, the physics, driving experience, tracks, etc. It has a ton of potential, but there are some MAJOR problems, mainly in PD's business model.

In a "free to play" game, okay, but not a game    I want to say the core of the game is amazing, the physics, driving experience, tracks, etc. It has a ton of potential, but there are some MAJOR problems, mainly in PD's business model.

    The game is based on predatory microtransactions, to the point where the game is intentionally creating roadblocks to funnel you towards microtransactions. In a "free to play" game, okay, but not a game you pay 60+ dollars for. The level of funneling as absolutely insulting.

    Races do not have a real payout, for doing a long endurance race you get barely anything. The credit payout across the board is extremely and intentionally gimped. This mixed with limits on what cars you can actually purchase, and time limits on those create a situation where they are trying to get people to crack out the credit card and just funnel more cash.

    All of this, mixed with the fact this is ONLINE ONLY. YOU CANNOT PLAY THE GAME WITHOUT INTERNET OR SERVER CONNECTION. This review comes in during the 24+ hour server outage caused by a bad update on PD's side. The game has been out for 2 weeks and people cannot play it. This is going to cause major issues in the future, and effect the lifetime of this game.

I loved the Gran Turismo games as a kid, sitting with my brother and choosing and tuning cars and seeing who could set the fastest lap. This game feels like the antithesis of those games. I am actively discouraged from purchasing and tuning cars by theI've experienced many terrible games but this is the first one that has made me sign up to various review sites to voice my frustrations. I loved the Gran Turismo games as a kid, sitting with my brother and choosing and tuning cars and seeing who could set the fastest lap. This game feels like the antithesis of those games. I am actively discouraged from purchasing and tuning cars by the huge grind involved to get them. I worked out that to acquire the cash for my favourite car and enough cash to tune it would take over 24 hours of solid gameplay. I can manage 2 hours a night of play at most so I'm looking at being able to play around with one car every 2 weeks. Some of my other favourite cars are locked for purchase full stop unless an invite is randomly acquired, absolutely disgusting. How dare they charge any money for this game when the economy is quite obviously entirely based around Pay To Play. Such excitement for a new iteration of this series and for the first time in my life a game has managed to make me feel completely heartbroken.

    All of this on top of the fact that Online is required to play single player. The first week this launched I was unable to play for any extended period as due to issues with our internet caused by Openreach it was dropping in and out.

    Booting up GT7 is akin to attending the funeral of an old friend.    … Expand

    Gran Turismo 7 has a lot of good and plenty of great. The use of DualSense and the particularly well-tuned loading is exemplary, and there's a huge amount of work behind the game, with a lot of detail that's almost hard to believe at times. [Issue#318]

    Gran Turismo 7 brings to the tracks every single thing fans always wanted: the GT Mode everyone loves, plenty of customization options, car loads, classic scenarios and one of the best DualSense and 3D Audio experiences the PS5 has to offer. This is the best Gran Turismo experience we have ever seen in a long time.

    Gran Turismo 7 is a love letter to motorsport history and an impeccable technical showcase. The franchise's traditional formula gets good improvements, but it's still extremely true to its roots. One of the best racing series ever shines spectacularly on the PS5.
