    An amazing story that makes you really consider each character's feelings and what made them choose what they did. The character development is also something that is profound in this game and keeps me wanting more.     When I started playing it, I had my doubts. After finishing the game, I cried because it was over. All time best game on this planet. I never saw such a great chemistry between characters and environment in a game!! 10/10 graphics 10/10 gameplay 10/10 level design 10/10 story!!!

    The one thing great about GOW 2018 was the combat. Somehow they messed that up. Emies who constantly spawn behind you or who spam attacks. So the enemy behind you spams an attack you have to block while the one in front forces you to dodge. And they like to juggle you. Bad game design all around. Story is ok.

    Thor disse eu vejo você de novo para Kratos no começo, mas nunca alcance Kratos até as últimas horas do jogo, Odin disfarçado de Tyr, mas por que razão? Ele usou as informações que reuniu? Não, ele sabia que Kratos estava procurando a lança para matar Himdal, mas não avisou Himdal ou pelo menos não tirou chifre dele.
    Fenrir era um fantasma e não fez nada no enredo. Thor, o deus do trovão, foi morto por uma lança de um golpe e desapareceu: /
    Também o algoritmo de combate de Odin, Thor e até mesmo Himdal era pobre e ruim e não era criativo em nada.

    The new story of Great 'nd Awful Spirit of Sparta and his son Atreus or Loki?(whatever).
    Although I can honorably call this masterpiece a fabuluous project. And I`m proud to had such a great experience like that! Impatiently waitin' for start of new project develop.

    My new all time favourite. It was such a blast the whole way through. Story gripped me from the beginning. Visuals are breathtaking and the combat is extremely fun. If I have to name a negative, it's the backseating NPC's when you're solving a puzzle. But the rest is so good that it won't effect my score for this game. Truly an one of a kind experience you don't wanna miss.

    To me some of the side/endgame content is what elevates this game a little bit.
    Could give the game an 8 because of it but i still don't quite feel like the game deserves it because there is some parts of the game that feels drawn out a bit. To a point where i would continue to ask, WOULD YOU PLEASE GET TO THE **** POINT? Btw, Thor is daddy.

    I think this game is overrated as hell but nothing beats Witcherino 3 in this regard. Of course still a great game. Kudos to developers! Again much better than Witcherino 3 and Wokebug 1977 combined!

    1. I don't why, but the developers insist on enemies surrounding you all the time. Even if you run to a spot to face them at a perfect angle, the enemies will find their way to go to your other sides, and this is not the case for Gow2018. Making things worse, they butchered quick turn, you can press D-Down to quick turn ONLY when you are blocking, which MAKES ABSOLUTELY **** NO SENSE.
    2. Parry was satisfying in 2018, but not here, it's weak as hell. Enemies seem harder to stagger.
    3. If you want the witch time? Well they **** bind it to one set of armor and the time is reduced. They nerfed the combat in every **** possible way.
    4. Almost forgot to mention that they hard-nerfed the rune attacks, they are laughably bad now, not worth abusing anymore. Just pick the ones with the shortest cooldown, at least you can stagger mobs. For damage? Don't even bother.
    5. Do you remember the developers boasting about their "evolution" by which they mean you can cancel any attacks in GOW2018, even the rune attacks? Well well, guess who walked that back? You can't anymore.    … Expand

    A true next gen game makes you proud to own a PlayStation. Very satisfying to go around decapitating all the enemies and the graphics are the best I’ve ever seen in a game along with the music it is extremely immersive.

On the other hand the story/plot is a let-down. The Marvel movies story wise formula was cleary used on this game. Come on, we are talking about GOD OF WAR, not some Disney movie.     Lng story short to « play » only if you prefer to watch a movie rather than play.

    - Until now I'm collecting eight Chaos Flames but I could use only four of them. So my Chaos Blades are on Level 4 and I can't upgrade the Chaos Blades to the actually maximum.
    - Two of the berserkers I can't beat because I can't hit them with any weapon. There is no damage and they kill me insteadly. So I can't get to King Hrolf and get this trophy.
    - I have collected all the 48 ravens but the message when I want to open the last chest is: You have to collect 45 ravens to open this chest. So I can't open the last chest and I don't know what happens then

    I could discribe many errors more in this game, but the named ones are the baddest.

    I was so excited to play this game on PS5 because part 4 was incredible good. But this part has disappointed me so hard. It is unplayable for me and I have unstall it now.    … Expand

    That's how I would describe it in as few words as possible. If you liked it and disagree, well good for you, but you may want to read further what a good and entertaining game with a greek god in norse mythology could have been like.

    So, God of War 2018 was good, why rate this as a failure? It's the same game with the other half of the story, isn't it? Correct! Why do I have to go through all the grinding again? What does it add to the story? Why should I play it?

    Here is my point of view: God of War 2018 and God of War Ragnarok as a Playstation 4 game in 2018 till 2022 with 20 hours of action packed core playtime? _Fantastic game!_ Not the most inventive of revolutionary one, and I would accept mid 2010's graphics in 2022. Graphics have gotten so detailed and rendering so technically flexible that it is fine to play older games while not feeling to be thrown back to the stone ages. But that never really mattered for games with good story telling either did it? Correct again! While I was excited about the 2018 game and its open world, times have changed, personally, but also looking back at similar games, they are just chores. If you don't want to make a career on gaming and you are just looking for good entertainment, well the industry does not care about you it seems. And that is disappointing. Do I want to play 50 or more open world games with all their chores and little sprinkles of story or do I want to have a successful life and career and and peace of mind about my pension and that I was an active part of society?

    Hey, I play Fortnite without audio, which is grinding, which can be somewhat competitive and fun while being very much repetitive, but I can also listen to news while playing it (ha!). God of War 2018 was lengthy, much babbling, much grinding, shallow open world mechanics like you have seen in other games where you have to run circles because you can't access them now, and also aspects you forgot about the 2018 game so you are even more running around in circles. repetitive ad nausea! 20 hours of main story well executed, beautifully explained in consumable sized chunks with 80 to 200 hours of game play in ONE game where you could switch between the state of the world in 2018 and 2022? GREAT! Other games can pull it off (to some degree). And also, please, a bit of breath in the action packed scenes. some characters where apparently there during Ragnarok but the "camera" and everything else was shaking so much that I didn't see anything and I felt that I missed something important. But that's a problem of a game, of game designers and story telling or explaining that there is not enough focus on what is important.

    Please get rid of skill trees in action games. Filling out an excel sheet in between missions is not immersion!

    I love games and story telling, I loved some parts of this game, but it was so stretched thin that I think it wasn't worth the time I invested. And that is bad. But too many people and journalists seem to be fine with how things are and that's that.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'm left with an overall deflated feeling of disappointment after so much anticipation and love for the franchise. Compared with the 2018 masterpiece, Ragnarok certainly underdelivers in many ways, with my biggest frustration in the confused plot lines, unanswered questions, rushed climax and poor storytelling.

    I thought the introduction of Angboder would have more of a significant impact to the story. I thought the giants entrapped in marbles would be pivotal to Ragnarok glory. Where was Fenrir in the war? What was the point of focussing so much of the game around the mask only for it to be a throw away? I thought changing the prophesies was weak and that Kratos should have been killed by Heimdoll (maybe returning as a Valkyrie sent from Odin). I really felt annoyed with that fact that peace was not made with Sindri, and losing this comedy from the game was very damaging to the overall feeling for the player. Atreus morphing into bears and wolves were so underutilized and even weren't used at all in the final battles. Why did Faye betray her people? Is it Loki or Atreus?

    Great Game. Good story good playthrough I love the puzzles it's a challenging thinker game. Graphics are eh but no bugs that I've came across everything's been amazing. Love it.

    The story is lack luster and kratos (who is a very ugly character with an even uglier personality) son is the most annoying part of this game. The combat system is as dull as in every other hack and slay game and the puzzle sections are just pathetically easy and made for kids of age 6!     Graphics are not good at all and would also have run on my toasters hardware. The 30 FPS cap and drops even below that make this game unplayable.

    I don't know how biased or addicted to fentanyl people can be to rate this game higher than a 0 tbh.

    The management and the devs should be ashamed of themselves and all the studios involved should disband to make sure that less people are being harmed by their products in the future.    … Expand

    Fantastic experience from start to finish. Top of the line graphics with great art direction. And most importantly, across 50 hours of gameplay, I encountered ZERO bugs or glitches. With the state in which most AAA games release nowadays, it’s so refreshing to get a fully polished and immersive experience.

    I like how they kept everything from the previous 2018 game and just improved upon it, there was time when i didn’t want to put the controller down because the story telling was so good.

Decepcionante, repetitivo, o Kratos perde os upgrades do inicio sem nenhuma explicação, o Thor morre com uma cutucada de vareta, simplesmente não é divertido e a história não ajuda. A formula da SONY se vê forte nesse jogo mais uma vez. O jogo numa hora parece mais uma DLC que foi transformada em um novo jogo no meio do caminho, outra hora parece que queriam fazer uma trilogia mas não tiveram coragem pra isso.     Я фанат игры, еще со времен PS2. Очень нравилась игра 2018 года. Абсолютно разочарован Ragnarek. Дико раздражают наличие нелепых головоломок на каждом шагу, туда не пройти, это не перепрыгнуть, здесь не подышать и т.д. Отмечу отличный сценарий и красивую графику, взаимодействие персонажей.     an incredible cinematic experience, ruined by terrible UX design. All too often a wonderful cool event will happen and just as it is winding down with the music still playing a damn tutorial will appear, completely taking me out of it. This is even with tutorials on minimum. The UX design is ABSOLUTELY the number 1 reason this didn't win game of the year.

    Guys, when you release this for PC can you please sort out the UX design. Also, the menu system and the excessive stats and upgrades could do with being reworked. This game is so damn confusing in that department.    … Expand

    As always, your mileage may vary. Some may like it. If you're a retrogamer with bad glasses and memory for instance.

    god of war is not that it is the worst game but we have to admit that it is quite weak the story is regular and the gameplay is totally the same as that of god of war 2018 quite repetitive

The only thing as annoying as the woke trash is the endless puzzles. This was not much fun to play but I did see it through. It took a lot, though.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. El juego merece una ponderación, mi voto es la media del juego antes de la nueva partida + con mi valoración tras la nueva partida plus. Antes de la nueva partida plus merece un 9, lo jugué como 10 veces seguidas, y disfrutsbs con los jefes finales. Sin embargo en la nueva partida + mi valoración es un -9, ya q de nada te sirve llevar las armaduras y armas al nivel 10, me fui a por la reina gna, a la que vencia fácilmente y mis armas solo le hacían caricias y mis armaduras no me daban protección, intente probar con un jefe berseker en que Luchas contra 3 a la vez, y lo mismo. No me dieron problemas en la versión primera, pero en la nueva partida + son invencibles y kratos muy muy débil. He desinstalado el juego, y es el último título de la saga que comprare ( he jugado todos en playststion, y hasta la versión 2028 - la mejor en pc tambien). No me gusta el enfoque de la nueva partida plus en ragnsrok, pues en la versión 2018 notabas más facilidad para derrotar a las valkirias con las armaduras +, ahora el personaje kratos vuelve muy miy débil en el nivel 10 y los jefes como la reina gna y el rey berseker suyos solo para jugadores profesionales. God ofcwar deja de ser un título apto para todo jugador y solo apto para jugadores muy muy buenos. No comprare ningún título más de god of war.… Expand

    FF16 battle exceed GoWR, the Ekions boss fights put the final arc Ragnarok into a shame. It's just a better choice in 2023 if you enjoy action cinematic game.

    Absolutelly masterpiece. Improves everything that the GOW 2018 does. The escenarios are bigger, newer and notable. Had a lot of reference of norse mythology and the bosses are pretty well, For me is the GOTY of 2022. Try it. You wont regret

    This game broke me, it had everything to be the best God of war ever, but the developers couldn’t use the great potential this game had… It feels like Cory couldn’t finish what he started, so he gave the job to someone that had different ideas for the story and he made it the worst way as possible in almost everything in story and gameplay. What makes the story a disaster is that the writers and Cory had the stupid idea to make it a 2x1 game, so the narrative feels rushed after the first two hours of the game, also the fact that many characters don’t feel well written at all (Atreus tries to look clever, but every decision he makes is none sense, Freyr is literally a MCU character with unfunny jokes, Odin had a pointless item and Thor is “justified” for being a serial killer and a terrible father as it was said in the last game) and that there’s no clear objective since the beginning, it’s a very complex and anticlimactic story. The gameplay (which should be the most important part of the GAME) has two things that make it good, which are the combat system that’s very enjoyable and most of the enemies and bosses you fight, but the rest of the things have zero innovation, which makes the DLC argument still valid. I think that the biggest flaw about the gameplay is that Santa Monica focused a lot on the story, so you’ll have too many long cutscenes and walking simulators… I won’t talk that much about the soundtrack and artistic direction because they aren’t the main focus, but if I had to say something about it, both are gorgeous (mostly the soundtrack)!    … Expand

    It is just boring. Puzzles are boring, fighting is boring, dialogs are boring and you can't hear all story because every time when you make some action you hear "let's continue in next time".

    Huge dissappointment. I got bored of the game and couldn't get back into it. Its simply God Of War 4 but over again. Same graphics, gameplay, combat the same. Kind of feels like just a DLC. Don't get me wrong, God of War 4 is a great game. But this is simply 60 dollar DLC. Maybe if I try to get back in the game and finish it, I would rate it higher.

    Porem não tem como pensar no Ragnarok sem sua bagagem do 2018, o outro jogo realmente trouxe mais impacto, o Fator de Baldur perseguindo ( Parecido com Nemesis do RE3 ) deixou o jogo menos impactante, para ser sincero, esse jogo serviu mais como um complemento do seu anterior, em alguns momento se tornou repetitivo, e um pouco    Um jogo incrivel, historia surreal, kratos sendo foda demais.

    I can't help but tip my hat to the entire Santa Monica team. The deeper you delve into the game, the more you'll be drawn into the stunning story of a father and son against the backdrop of perhaps history's most horrific war. Throw in some casually endearing humour, great and fluid gameplay, and wrap it all up with an amazing audiovisual experience. [Issue#323]

    Thanks to an amazing cast that’s doing an outstanding job, a compelling story told through the eyes of multiple characters, and top-notch combat, this epic and heartfelt journey strikes all the right chord. It’s impossible not to recommend God of War Ragnarok, but just in case you had any doubts, I strongly advise anyone mildly interested in gaming to play Santa Monica Studio’s latest masterpiece.
