The game is simply brilliant. There are only slight drawbacks in game mechanics, but overall it has a good story, great graphics and a huge amount of content. Definetely worth a buy. The review - bombers rating it 0 should be ashamed of themselves. Denouncing great games simply creates more trash.

Techland delivered. Better parkour, better melee combat, the evolution of the grappling hook is extremely appreciated, the paraglider addition is game-changing in the best way. The verticality of the map, the size of the map, the dense foliage and vibrant colors of the rooftops compared to the desolate, dark sidewalks and roads on-ground.

Did the marketing team oversell? I think so. I think people were expecting a Bethesda RPG in terms of consequences and actions...I can tell you it's not. BUT, it's not far off. You will make decisions that DRASTICALLY impact your playthrough. What's even better is that every side quest is substantial and carries weight. Some even impact your main story!

This is the sequel to DL1 I wanted in every way.

Amazing game it’s so much fun to play the only reason it’s not a 10 is because Co-Op is a bit buggy

Good: gameplay, side quests, multiplayer, multiplot story, cool sandbox, cool mechanics, and cool parkour (the best part of the game, every time you go to any mark, you're thinking how to get there, which way you can go faster and more handsome).
Bad: bugs (a lot of, especially at story quests), no Italian (but it's pardonably), not that good story.

This game is visually amazing and it has some of the best parkour I've seen in a game. Even though others have been having troubles with bugs, I haven't encountered a single bug. Additionally the combat is fun and enjoyable.

First of all: No game deserves a 0-1/10 or 10/10 in my opinion. I love zombie games to death since I played the first RE game on the PSX, and still would not give this game a 10.

First of all: No game deserves a 0-1/10 or 10/10 in my opinion. I love zombie games to death since I played the first RE game on the PSX, and still would not give this game a 10.

With that out of the way, the review in 5 parts:
    - Graphics 6/10: Sure, it's no the last of Us levels of detail, but seeing as this is a open-world sandbox game I can understand why they went that route. Could be more, but the gameplay might forced the design here.
    - Story 7/10: It's cliched, but not bad. It is not completely obvious what's happening, you get a few moments of "show, don't tell" and the story makes at least to effort to portray both factions as grey, instead of good or bad. Also, the two faction route they put in place at least adds replay-value, as do the choices to a limited regard.
    - Characters 7/10: While I can admit that they sometimes are written a bit "dumb", and making your character the center of attention by acting helpless to get you involved is a tad to much, overall the characters are likeable and understandable enough in their actions that you can get behind them without suspending disbelief. Most of the bunch are capable to be mean arses in one cutscene, and later on bring out a dump one-liner that makes you crack a smile. Your character, Aiden, kinda reflects that as well: You can play him as a focused loner or a genuine social and caring guy, and both get presented believable enough to stick with me. Also, another plus: There are not many "pure bad guys" in the story - most of them act for a reason, and you can understand and feel bad for them in the story - even choosing how to react to them doing what they do. Techland at least didn't go down the "we tell you what to think about X"- route, and I am grateful for that.
World design 9/10: This a good open world in my opinion. There are tidbits of survivor stories to be found everywhere, there is something interesting to at nearly every corner, and most of what you see would make sense in a zombie infested world. Villedor looks beautiful and makes climbing the rooftops enjoyable to play and see.
Gameplay 10/10: This is hit or miss for most people, but damn I need to play favourites here; It's broken physics, but traversing the rooftops makes fun, and screwing with enemies with broken tools and weapons makes fun. This is clearly the main focus I got the game for this time around and it does not disappoint. It makes fun to play with a friend and have a laugh about ragdolling enemies from roofs, into spikes or water, grapple them around, watch em explode, etc. Even most of the bugs will likely "only" kill you in a ridiculous manner that makes you have a laughing fit rather than making you angry. Overall, the game is a blast by not taking itself too seriously.

Overall, the game would come out as a 7.8.

I gonna add one more score-point for replay-ability and to since there are way to much 0/10 ratings going around (mostly because of localisation issues), so feel free to read this a 8/10, if you choose.

However, the choices in this game are Witcher 3 level good. Almost every choice in the game had me stop and think, because I genuinely cared about the characters and this world. For example, I made a choice to save one character from dying, almost 5 hours in game time later I run into him at the local bar and he gives me a great weapon. Was not forced and made the world actually feel lived in. I highly recommend this game to rpg/open world fans. Expand

My honest tought is that nowadays people just like to complain about any **** game no matter how good it is, we have to understand that making games like this is not easy even if you have a full team of devs working on it. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Dying Light 2 had a lot to learn from it’s precessor Dying Light espically with that handsome man Kyle Crane (mmm…), but Techland has smashed it out of the park again. After playing the game for over 350 hours, I can say that Dying Light 2 deserved GOTY and was robbed by Elden Ring. My identical twin Jonah Scott smashed his role as my second boyfriend and new gigachad spirit animal Aiden Chadwell who run, jumps and fights throughout Villedor saving lives and smashing Volatiles with the dropkick, which instantly obliterates opponents with the pure foot of steel and vapourises people so bad, thier partners couldn’t recognise them.
The story is a masterpiece, written by the greatest minds the dancing Polish cow could offer with themes like love, betrayal and my deepest darkest fanfiction inspirements. The ending where I face off with Waltz, Aiden’s kind of but not really father is when I started crying and begging for not Dying Light 3 but Dying Light 7. I need it now, and the ending where Hakon runs off with his 5th Husband who is Aiden Chadwell made me extremely jealous that I was not there with them running into the sunset or running to Villedor Castle (god, i want that castle so bad).

To conclude, Dying Light 3: Hunt down the Hakon is a must buy. Everyone should play it, not matter which species you are. It’s fun for the whole family and family pet. This is probably better than IGN’s review anyway. Are we out of budget yet?

The game does a great job of making players question who to trust and whether their choices will have a real impact on the game's story.

The game's graphics are also top-notch, with detailed characters and environments that are a pleasure to explore. The game's combat system is also well-designed, offering players a variety of different ways to approach battles.

However, the game also has some significant drawbacks compared to the first Dying Light. Several mechanics that were present in the first game have been cut, which can be frustrating and make players feel like they're missing out on something. Additionally, the game's AI can be inconsistent, and sometimes NPCs will behave in unexpected ways.

In conclusion, Dying Light 2 is a great game with a lot to offer. The plot is excellent, the graphics are beautiful and the gameplay is engaging. However, it does have some shortcomings and it would be great if the developers can fix them in the next installment. Overall, it is a must-play for fans of the open-world action-adventure genre. "

Have to say I am enjoying it a lot more this time around. The game is different to when it launched. They have added things like gear transmog, weapon blueprints, weapon crafting and lots more gore and brutality. They have also added some community events and stuff. On a slow playthrough - trying to cover everything. Kind of switching between one part of the storyline and clearing one area at a time doing all the side quests.

Some games do come good in the end, not many. But this is a different game to the game I played originally. And for whatever reason, probably the gore updates, finding it a blast to play at the moment. The story is still a bit lacking and side quests are very the same. But nice to see Techland never gave up on the game and I salute them for that.

Graphics wise I'm sure a PC could run 4k 60fps fine, you have to remember the ps5 is already last gen PC hardware it's basically as powerful as a rtx 2070. On PS5 the 60fps mode is pretty ugly and only 1080p as well. But it looks as if it it just using the last games engine with everything turned up a little. Textures are pretty low res as well, when you get close to posters and etc you can't even read them.

It would be 10 if the game didnt have some bugs that stopped some trophies popping and MP connection was better.

This game is fun and long. Worth the money if your looking for a game that has hours of stuff to do.

PLUS its zombies!!!!!! If you enjoyed the first game you will love this one. Like the saying goes if it aint broke dont fix it but improve on it!

Daying Light 2 is a very good sequel. Climbing and jumping is really fun. The story is ok, much better than the first, but not the masterpiece like FF7 or God of War. If only crossplay would come. Absolutely recommendable for a cozy evening with friends whizzing through Villedore

Well yes, sometimes while parcouring yoz will glitch through the wall, but this also happens in DL1 so calm down.

The story so far is quite nice, nothing outstanding, but genuinely believable.

The graphics look a bit outdated, but looking back to the development problems that game‘s issued, it‘s nothing I wasn‘t prepared for.

The side quest can be funny, really. But feel a bit off when you‘re on a literally search mission for your sister.

The combat feels nice and smooth and never had any trouble with it.

You will face some minor framedrops (approximately 5-10 FPS when moving REALLY fast), but nothing unplayable.

Overall people need to set their expectations lower and shouldn‘t hope that every game becomes a masterpiece.

    Good game overall, really.

I've just about got the Platinum , game is a lot of fun, sure the story could be a little better but gameplay is a rich experience, the only real issues right now are technical issues, hopefully Techland will resolve these soon, glitched trophies, broken netcode etc but at it's core there's a lot of fun to be had in DL2.

I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed my time with this game. Other than some annoying bugs which I'm sure will get ironed out in the next few weeks, the experience was flawless and performance was solid on PS5. I haven't enjoyed a game this much in a long time, I literally stayed up all night on the first day of playing because I was so invested and just... enthralled by the world and stuff to do. The parkour is also a huge step up from the previous game and the combat too. I played some coop too and other than one small issue with audio while playing coop, it was extremely fun. Also, Jonah Scott does a phenomenal job as Aiden(the main character) in the game, along with many other memorable characters with above average voice actin, apart from some sidequests which had downright hilarious voice acting, but hey, I see this as a good thing as dying light 1, for me at least, was all about making fun of and laughing at these wierd quirky characters with my friends in coop. With Techland's promise of 5+ years of content coming to this game, I can definitely see my rating go to a 9, maybe even a 10 just because of how fun the game is, especially coop. I also quite liked the main story and, while it's not exactly groundbreaking storytelling, it certainly would keep one well entertained and invested in some of the characters, especially Aiden. The decisions also have a massive impact on the story and ending so if you dont like one ending, you may like another. I belive there is 5 completely different endings, so that also means lots of replayability. All in all, if you liked the first game in any way, definitely give this a try, I promise you won't be disappointed, as long as you don't have extremely high expectations for the story. Expand

I'm not really playing for the story, so I'm not expecting anything to blow me away on that front. The story is just there to give some substance and meaning to the zombie bashing. If I wanted story id play a story driven title. But so far the story during the part's I've played has got my attention, I like the characters I've come across so far as well. Don't believe in perfect scores but the game definitely is a 8/10 at the very minimum. Needs a wee bit more polish but Techland definitely has another great title on its hands here that's ready to carry on the torch for the next few years.

As for the game, sadly, it feel like a better looking but less interesting version of DL1. I miss the guns, i miss the airdrops, i miss the real zombies treat... the first part is very boring, feel like a 10h+ tutorial following NPC and never ending dialogues...
Mission are quite boring, it feel like a fusion Dying last Far Cry of us Light 2...
Zombie feel almost like decoration, never really a treat, you just ignore them most of the time... if they were not there it would not change much...
The second half of the game is a lot better even if i atill feel there is a lack of interest in exploring but it start to feel Dying Light.
I hope DLCs will be able to adjust it and bring more attractive goals even if it wont fix the very slow boring start. This game have huge potential, amazing open world and parkour, dont waste it please. And bring back gun + more agressive/ dangerous infected :)

The parkour in this game along with the immunity clock as well the stamina meter makes the game unique compared to other zombie survival game. However there are some flaws, the dialogue expression is kinda bland and simple which doesn't express the story in a good way. Optimization in this game, very even nothing. I don’t have very good hardware, it’s a little higher than the minimum, but it plays at stable 60 frames, but in the city there were drawdowns up to 40, but this can be pushed to my PC. There are enough bugs in the game, but it can be forgiven, because the game itself was released a couple of days ago (in the same cyberpunk it was much worse), I think there will be much less of them in the near future.

I think the game is a blast with good gameplay and a fun story that is not perfect but improves on the first game In every way I’ve had a good time with the game and have not had many issues with performance and I’m on a ps4 overall the game is fun and I have not been able to put it down since I got it

Don't listen to the negative reviews, this game is awesome. Okay, the story is nothing compared to a game like Red dead redemption but it's way better than it was in the first one.. If you are hesitating the only thing i can say is that if you loved the first one, you gonna love this too and you won't regret buying it.

Good story, very nice combat and parkour.
Grapics could be better, quality mode should been with 60fps then the game could been 9/10 but it is a bit repetive with all the climbing. Overall very happy to finishing it.

Averaged score: 7.6 (rounded to nearest selection that MC allows)
Dying Light 2: Stay Human is a great game that I definitely recommend. The gameplay is engaging, the story is interesting, and future patches and DLC could easily fix graphics and replayability, taking this game’s rating up to at least 8. Absolutely worth picking up and putting in 100 hours or more.

    DETAILED SCORES:

    Graphics: 6/10
Dying Light 2 has some decent overall graphics. Scenery is detailed and pretty, NPCs are realistic enough for a cross-gen game, and combat effects are decent. Unfortunately, there are also a lot of graphics bugs like shaking items, pop-ins, and clip-throughs on release 1.005
    Gameplay: 9/10
Great, smooth parkour style combat and world traversal. Getting around the city is addictive to the point of distracting and I found myself spending a lot of time just running, jumping, and flying around. Combat can be a tad repetitive if you are not using your different abilities, but just mix it up a bit. Story was interesting and engaging with good voice acting.
    Play factor: 8/10
Easy to just spend hours exploring or side-questing. The main story is long and interesting, but the side stuff can keep you busy for hundreds of hours. Traversing the city is really fun, and I spent hours just running around.
    Sound: 9/10
The soundtrack was really well done. The music fit and enhanced the mood perfectly. The voice acting was pretty good, with Rosario Dawson stealing the show. Sound effects were well implemented, and I encountered very few or no sound bugs that I realized.
    Replayability: 6/10
Dying Light 2 would seriously benefit from a “New Game +” mode. It has really addictive gameplay, but Techland needs to give players a reason to come back for more if they want it to be more than a “one-and-done” game. Beyond mopping up trophies and side-quests in post-game, not much to bring players back.

Note: You DO NOT need to play the first game.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Fun parkour movement that can be a little wonky and frustrating due to the first person perspective. Combat is definitely not very layered as it is just 90% melee weapon swinging, just dont get surrounded and overwhelmed and most fights have been a breeze. The combat improves when new abilities are unlocked such as the curb stomp and the awesome big damage drop kick. Seriously, you can wack away with a blade or a hammer but a jump and kick does triple the damage. Decent open world map with endless activities to do. Activities like supply caravans, stores, etc. are repeatable to farm valuables for money or parts for crafting. Crafting system is ok, materials are all over and easy to find. Upgrading the crafting recipes is a real pain in the ass as they require an unreasonable amount of monster tokens, most of which have to be farmed at night and don't have a definite drop rate. Most standard recipes seem to require upwards of 50+ uncommon tokens to upgrade fully, and there are at least 50 recipes to upgrade. A standard play session usually netted me somewhere around 20-25 uncommon tokens, so progress on upgrading has been very slow. Copy and pasted skyrim/Fallout lockpicking system could use an overhaul as it is stale at this point. Lockpicking does not pause the game though which keeps the intensity up if there are enemies nearby or if you are in the dark or in the toxic material. I really enjoyed the nighttime travesal and ticking clock game that you would have to play to stay alive. With only around 5 minutes of survival time when outside of daylight or UV light the early parts of the game were much more of a sturggle to stay alive and reach the goal. By mid to late game I had piled up enough immunity boosters and UV shrooms to basically ignore the mechanic all together, with no shortage of resources in sight. The story has been engaging and eventful, there are almost too many named characters to keep track of and follow, the "choices" within story missions lead to some tough decisions. I ultimately sided and gave the nuetral territory resources to the "survivors" because I wanted to make travesal as easy as possible because I like clearing the map in these open world games. The final boss was a **** that had 4 extremely similar and annoying phases, which included unblockable attacks with no rythm and some instant death areas if you fell off. *SPOILERS* The game really fell off in the late game for me, I'll admit I maybe made some wrong key story choices like letting Hakon die and choosing to save Lawan at the end, I definitely got the "bad" ending which always seems to happen to me during these games, I'll still never get over my witcher 3 ending. In the end everybody but me and lawan died and the entire city exploded due to a rocket strike i chose to let happen. Sheesh. Expand

Jonah Scott did an amazing job in this game, and so did other main characters such as Hakkon and Lawans actors.

Gameplay: Dying Lights gameplay is amazing, but if you don’t constantly keep using different skills it gets repetitive. The skills are really satisfying to do also, and running across rooftops and jumping over and sliding under never gets old.

Graphics: I didn’t have high hopes for the graphics on this game because cyberpunk but it surprised me with its environmental suspense and graphical fidelity. Animations in this game are good, facial animations could use some work.

The game was freaky enjoyable. The parkour, visuals, and just getting around the city were the highlights. The story wasn't the best but I appreciated how choices would affect the city and I ended up liking some characters. All around good game if you're into the zombie post apolyptic setting.

I gave it 8 not 10 because of some glitches and some repetitive side quest (which game isnt? I know there are some game like Elder Scroll has excellent side quests but its not really apple to apple comparison). Overall, it is a very enjoyable game, especially exploring the city and tunnels, it almost bring up the insomnia of the fallout 3 memories.

Rarely has my opinion of a video game changed as much as I did with Dying Light 2. By the first act, I honestly thought I had a contender for a 90's rating. World building, characters, decisions, massive fights and the parkour system really convinced me at first.

But the longer the season dragged on, the more the framework collapsed. Very little is made of characters and world.

But the longer the season dragged on, the more the framework collapsed. Very little is made of characters and world. Fighting just lacks the variety to keep you entertained over the long gameplay, and parkour became rather exhausting for me (since I assigned all areas to the Peacekeepers).

But the worst part is the story. Rarely has there been such a soulless protagonist who literally stumbles helplessly from one boring event to the next. For me personally, Dying Light 2 is unfortunately a missed opportunity. Because if Techland had built on the good foundation of Act 1, we would have had the first hit of the year

Honestly, Dying Light is better than Dying Light 2, the physics in 2 was a bit twisted. Main plot in my opinion was better in first part, Kyle Crane had a more interesting adventure than Aiden. After all, the game is really good, many mechanics such as parkour enjoy very much whether fighting is really satisfying

The zombies the parkour and that you can play with you're friends and actually don't need to die alone, The story overall is pretty average and the parkour is just so fun I have over 100 hours put into this game and that I can say is that the day and night cycle is still a thing just like the first game, except that if one of the howlers aka screamers they will alert other big fast and furious beings and there like a chase sequence and has levels that goes up to 1/4 and everytime another level begins it'll become harder and faster. The combat, now the combat has a major improvement since the first game but it kinda cloonky and sometimes I wish it wasn't so slow you know, like look at the last of us 1 and 2 the combat was realistic and it felt brutal and satisfying. But dl2 its pretty satisfying when it comes to combat but the combat of the game wasn't brutall like realistic time of wise, I wish that they could've made the combat better not gonna lie but everything else is actually good and pretty. The launch, the launch of the game got us all thirsty but the game released in a buggy state not like cyberpunk 2077 type but the optimization was bad and the loading of the game on the last gen was slow like you would fall of the map, and see some of the models of characters not loaded in all the way. And the audio ughh the audio was so bad like you couldn't even hear what they were saying and no music be playing sometimes like no sound effect can be heard like dam they should've delayed the game (to be honest) But later on small and big and biggest and some couple updates and events later, the state of the game right now is actually functioning kinda like a normal game and to be honest this game is actually good now like better I would say. I hope you found this helpful and pls, I love you Expand

Dying Light 2: Stay Human looks more like a DLC to the first game than a whole new one. This does not mean it is a bad game, but it is not one that you should rush to buy. It looks and feels like you are playing the same Dying Light from years ago, and despite the storytelling being solid and entertaining, it is not enough to justify buying it right now.

Delivering a huge improvement on the first title, but lacking with new features, Dying Light 2 Stay Human is quite fun, brutal, rewarding and a game of exceptional quality when it comes to the open world. Minor issues still exist here, but Techland successfully manages to live up to the hype surrounding the game.

Dying Light 2 ups the ante from the original in almost every way, offering more satisfying parkour, combat and enough jump scares to make you never want to walk in the darkness ever again. A worthy and essential sequel.
