What the dev's did to this game was pretty much nerf all the fun out of it. I keep replaying the scene in Star Wars were Obi-Wan says to Anakin, you were suppose to bring balance, not leave it in darkness. This is what happens when the Dev's do not listen to the community.

The game had potentially. Then the Blizzard Development Team decided to remove what little fun the players had in an attempt to balance their terrible choices. Now I feel as if I have to wait for the "Reaper of Souls" expansion.

First of all I don’t spend my time leaving game reviews but this became a massive exception. DON’T BUY D4!!! First major patch before season starts gutted everyone’s gear of anything meaningful. I have no reason to play ever again thanks to Blizzard’s idea of making this a live service online only. It got boring really quickly when 99% loot is vendor trash. So much lack of content once you’ve beaten the campaign. I once had faith in this game when they listened and increased EXP gains much higher in nightmare dungeons. YET they release this patch and did a 180, making grinding/leveling that much more difficult!! If they wanted to gut all the fun from the game, why release it with all the stuff they took away from their players, which was subpar to begin with….? Where’s all the cool uniques, aspects, build variety … or anything for that matter? The 1.1 patch clearly demonstrates Blizz does not respect your time or any actual player feedback. Expand

Developers don't understand the Diablo sensibility at all.

Their patch direction is not very user friendly.

The thing is, diablo 4 was fun at first, until the dev team decided to slowly wreck everything up with either their ego or just pure stupidity. Diablo is fun due to its versatility on builds and items crafting/ hunting and also its level grind was bearable. Some how they manage to burry the game slowly with each patch, what a joke. What's need to be fix were constantly ignored while implementing nerfs on unneeded segments is pure JOKE, not sure the dev team trying to clown us or themselves at this point. Builds were suppose to be working from every classes are not working correctly ( they dont fix **** on every goddamn patch they impose, all they do is nerfing something else ) , zero quality of life ( even after tons of recommendation from users/ actual players have suggested ) they seems to be blind on this one, and finally it came to its glorious 1.1 patch, downright the most **** if not one of the patch in arpg history in recent years. You strip the fun out of the game you bunch of stubborn mules, why make a patch focusing to slow the entire game down? Nerf on exp gain, damage, affixes, armor, damage reduction and etc, like seriously? We were asking for endgame content, slowing the game down wasnt a content ffs, not at all. You guys dont like seeing people having fun is that it? or is it just a scheme to make the progress of season one direly slow so it would force people to do ingame purchase to level up the seasonal pass level? The list goes on but if you think nerfing the game on every patch is the way to keep the game going, well good luck on that, effing mules. Expand

Game was phenomenal with the original intent and design, but after a recent patch, the intent by the developers is to drive people away from the game to lower server populations with blanket reductions to capabilities, introducing class breaking flaws instead of providing corrections. Just another corporate money grab at this point. What a shame.

This game has a tons of issues need to be addressed. But Blizzard chose to ignore them, ignore the pains of players. They don't priority the problem solving, and even made some most critical ones worse. That is ridiculous. I never saw any company like Blizzard lacking of customer care.

Rated a 1 for the campaign, which is pretty decent. But that goes quick, and the midgame/endgame is abysmal, with seemingly no improvements on the horizon.

The way Blizzard treats players reminds me of an abusive spouse. They’ll shower you with small “gifts”, then knock you around a little bit to put you in your place, then they’ll say sorry and act like they’ve changed, only to hit you

The campaign was fun, but the game stagnates terribly after level 50. The developers have made numerous changes to make the game even slower and more of a time sink. There are dozens of better games being released this year which respect your time. This game does not.

The devs and community managers promise attention to and fixes for numerous issues, but then the patches exacerbate the issues instead of solving them. The focus seems to be on forcing players to spend as much time in the game as possible, not on making the game fun.

This game is worse than diablo 3 in every way. The lessons learned and wonderful progress made over years in that game is found nowhere in diablo 4.

Dungeons are tedious and don't provide much enjoyment, most boss encounters are fairly boring and don't require any special strategy. The game forces users to be online with the perception that it's closer to an MMO than an ARPG, yet provides no incentives and a non-existent social elements, I have played every day until launch and not once talked to another player, we just usually pass each other by, the only time we might be doing the same thing is for a world boss or hell tide event in the open world then disappear never to be seen again, the game might as well have an offline mode as that is 99% of the experience. Add on top of that the frequent bugs, lag from being forced to play online and developers that clearly do not play the game and nerfing and taking away the little fun that was to be had I would not recommend wasting $70 on this. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Edit: The dev's were quick to respond to the feedback the whole community had for the game. I thought it wouldn't be fair to leave my score as a 0 since they seem to be actively trying. There is still a far way to go with this game and I hope Blizzard gets community feedback before presenting future patches which will avoid issues going forward.

This game started out really good and I had high expectations. I cannot believe the developers are trying to ruin everything at the start of season one. It’s best to move onto other titles as I don’t feel confident that the current team they have for Diablo 4 understand player wants. They don’t respect our time and actually listen to our feedback.

Diablo 4's latest patch notes are disappointing. The attempt at balancing gameplay falls short, leaving some classes overpowered and others weak. The loot system changes lack depth, and endgame content remains repetitive. Multiplayer is plagued by connectivity issues, and the storytelling feels shallow. The game's potential is wasted, leaving players frustrated and dissatisfied.

To make matters worse, Diablo 4 managed to strip away the essence of an action role-playing game, delivering a hollow experience without real action or satisfying looting mechanics. The lack of engaging combat and rewarding loot progression leaves players questioning what happened to the beloved franchise they once knew. It's a disheartening departure from the very core that made Diablo games legendary, leaving fans yearning for the days of true action and meaningful loot drops.

Had high hopes for D4, bought season pass, prepared my build... then they gutted the game 2 days before season, and killed all the hype I had. Unless they mitigate the changes somewhat It's gonna be "Goodbye Blizzard corpos! Hope you choke on my money because it's the last you'll ever see of it." And I know that 90% of community feels the same, just check Reddit, official forums or YT.

I'll give 1 point for the ost and artistic direction.
Fun is inexistant cause of nerfs everywhere, always online is bad cause game is not fluid and crash (still thinks of the first hardcore character who got erased cause of that). It looks like the team is more prompt to fix what's good for players (exp farm, builds) but it takes 4 to 6 months to get QoL like gems moved or more chests

There's a fair bit to like about Diablo IV — best-in-class sound design, intriguing character classes, fantastic graphics and occasionally addictive gameplay all feel like the series in its prime. However, even the best parts are let down by an undercurrent of frustrating design choices: the cynical inclusion of a Battle Pass, a bloated open world, repetitive mission structure and progression that too often feels meaningless cast a long shadow that let the latest Diablo title down. Future Seasons may refine what's here, but many of its issues sadly feel baked into the core experience. All but the most die-hard fans may wish to wait for a substantial sale on this one.
