It's never been clearer that the devs themselves don't play the game.
I bought a game almost two months ago for 90$, now they make me regret ever buying the game.

    I WANT A REFUND!!!

Not realy fun, boring. Devs used free bugged assets. Gameplay is repetive and not exiting. New content is just poor.

1.1.0 Patch destroyed the game!!!! Plain and simple no ambitious to play this game. Hours and hours of grinding the perfect loot for my build for these people to nerf EVERYTHING!!! Give me a reason to play this pure trash that they turned this game into after i loved playing this game so much. WILL NOT be playing season 1 and its a shame as i was looking forward to it.

The constant nerfing is really demoralising. I am a casual gamer, and this slid from fun to frustration far too quickly. I've followed Diablo from 1 to 4. Time to move on.

As a fan of the Diablo series and having played since I was a kid, I am deeply disappointed with D4.
I was so disappointed I signed up to Metacritic to leave this post.
I don't mind the grinding out levels to get to max level, but the experience gain is crap it takes too long and seems to take so long as there is no real end game experience. Level scaling sucks, you never really feel

Level scaling sucks, you never really feel like being overpowered. When your meant to be a lone hero fighting the monster of hell.
MMO experience is nonexistence it leaves you asking why is this in the game?
Dungeons are all the same, kill all enemies or find and place an item on a pedestal.
The eternal realms have been nerfed to balance the season, so if you don't play the season prepare to be underwhelming.
Loot drops are like seeing a box of crispy cream droughts only to find some funny bastard has switched the doughnuts for vegetables and opening chests that you would think should be dropping amazing loot disappoints.
When legendries drop most of the time you end up salvaging it as you have so little stash space, so pick a build a stick to it and hope Blizzard don't take the nerf bat to it.

I had fun playing diablo 4 for a week. Max 30 hours I think.

The game feels unfinished with very little to do now and a recent patch has made.it way to slow and boring and fairly pointless.

Have uninstalled and might check back in 4/5 months when new content is released

The game never left beta. Patch 1.1 makes me question if the developers even enjoy playing games or if this is some conspiracy to get everyone to go outside more for the Summer. I would love to try out the seasonal mechanics but it is clear that Blizzard is just staring at a spreadsheet to see what people are using only to take that away without understanding the logic behind their moves. I had fun with this title at release but the paper thin endgame is awful and the XP grind is brutal (made even more brutal with the newest patch for some baffling reason). I may come back with a proper expansion but if anybody has not picked up this title yet, I would seriously urge patience. The D4 team is learning as they go and it seems like it is going to take quite some time to understand why people actually want to play their game. Expand

No care for the players, only the money they already received. It's sad that they did this, but at least it lets the players know to not trust Blizzard in the future. Weird they would shoot their own foot like this, but I guess this is what they wanted.

Blizzard doesn't care or want to make this game better, the game is already infected with issues, upon issues but instead of listening to the player base and trying to fix the actual issues, they nerfed the whole game so that no one would have fun. to make it worse they didn't even give us an alternative nothing to compensate for destroying everything to the ground.

Through the time playing i starting noticing my Dark wizard of death necromancer was a little lack lusting and kinda weak but i though that i will have to wait for endgame and see evolution, Oh my great mistake the more end game i reach the more weak i become and this loved class was so behind others.
I Mostly spend all my game time playing the story mode, when i reach endgame T3 i sadly noticed and realized that this was a treadmill and endless farming.
I stopped playing and I've been waiting with hope that the famous season will bring improvements and less tedious gameplay but was all the contraries, The last patch just finished to F&% the game even more.

This will be my last blizzard product, before diablo IV my last product was Diablo III so you better believe me when i say I WONT Spend a single dollar in this crap company anymore.
I will uninstall so hard this game that even will format my SDD to delete all vestige.

Player base reached out about balancing issues, so what does the dev team do? Further nerf builds needing help, and barely touching overpowered builds. On top of all this, they want TWENTY-FIVE DOLLARS for the battle pass. Battle pass clearly has pay to win elements like Diablo Immortal. They dragged us in with a potentially good game then gave it the Diablo Immortal treatment.

In nearly 30 years since Diablo was introduced it seems Blizzard hasn't learned what's good from previous Diablo games and what's bad. I don't believe I could have hand selected worse or more unfun features. (1) None of the quality of life things from D3 exist. (2) There's 0 end game. I don't believe I could have hand selected worse or more unfun features. (1) None of the quality of life things from D3 exist. (2) There's 0 end game. (3) You won't be able to just try out new fun builds, because switching takes hours of gold saving monotonous clicking paragon points. (4) There's too many useless secondary stats so 99.9999% of gear that drops is useless. It's very common to hear people not updating a single piece of gear from levels 75-90 because upgrades are so rare. (5) Dev teams provided so little content for the game they are nerfing XP to try and slow the game down to make it artificially last longer. (6) Constant nerfs, not just to damage but things like cool down reduction make the game feel more turn-based than "action" rpg, you'll spend time standing around waiting for cooldowns in-between packs. (7) Nightmare dungeons are so poorly designed you often spend time backtracking in them because of poor layout. (8) Uniques required for certain builds (not Uber uniques) have been know to just not drop at all for the entire level experience from 1-100. You may see a specific druid build you want to try but never in month of leveling from 1-100 ever see that item needed for that build. (9) Rerolling stats on gear is prohibitively costly so even a piece of near perfect gear with 1 bad stat often has to be thrown away. (10) Tomorrow's fireside chat that Blizzard has announced after the immediate backlash to S1 patch will 100% be them just telling players that players are and devs are right and devs know what's best, when it's clear none of them have played the game past level 25.

For these 10 reasons do not play Diablo 4, and do not pre-order any Blizzard game ever again.

After investing 200 hours into this game, I have mixed feelings about it. While I don't want to give it a negative review, I can only rate it a max of 7 out of 10, considering it slightly above average. It falls short in several areas and lacks the qualities necessary to be considered a "Game of the Year" contender. Furthermore, I don't foresee myself playing it much longer.

The game's main downfall lies in its post-campaign content. The lack of engaging endgame activities is apparent, and it feels like the developers prioritize minor bug fixes over addressing the fundamental issues that make the game less enjoyable for those who have progressed beyond the initial campaign.

As an action RPG, it fails to deliver action.

As an online game it fails to deliver social experience.

As a looting game it fails to provide a rewarding loot experience.

Dungeons quickly become repetitive, bosses lack inspiration, and combat mechanics are only average at best. Regrettably, playing the game beyond the campaign feels more like a tedious chore than an exhilarating experience.

While there is potential for improvement in the future, it is imperative that the developers take a proactive and dedicated approach to address the game's inherent flaws. Overall, I would cautiously recommend this game to RPG enthusiasts, but it's essential to manage expectations and not anticipate a truly fulfilling and enduring gaming experience.

It's worth noting that neglecting player concerns and failing to address issues promptly can have disastrous consequences for a game's community, as demonstrated by the unfortunate fate of a game called Anthem (Rest in Peace).

Developers should take these concerns seriously and make swift efforts to prevent a similar fate for this game.

There's a fair bit to like about Diablo IV — best-in-class sound design, intriguing character classes, fantastic graphics and occasionally addictive gameplay all feel like the series in its prime. However, even the best parts are let down by an undercurrent of frustrating design choices: the cynical inclusion of a Battle Pass, a bloated open world, repetitive mission structure and progression that too often feels meaningless cast a long shadow that let the latest Diablo title down. Future Seasons may refine what's here, but many of its issues sadly feel baked into the core experience. All but the most die-hard fans may wish to wait for a substantial sale on this one.

Diablo is back, and taking no prisoners. The top-quality, lengthy campaign will be enough for some, while the endgame should prove a welcome obsession for others. [Issue#30, p.84]
