Instead of the best Diablo game, I pre-ordered the most boring one. No great items, no fun gameplay, no interesting progression, no reason to experiment with builds, just pretty graphics

Blizzard don`t listen to the community. The new patch is definitely a downgrade. Most of the changes are pretty bad and the game is not enjoyable anymore.

One of the biggest disappointments in gaming history. Simply it’s just a 40-50 hours of fun, nothing else. This might be a good rpg but this is not Diablo. Blizzard must consider feedback from players, not simply try to boost playing time with nerfing everything, even increasing loading screen time.

1.1 was a historically bad patch that deleted the fun from the game in one fell swoop. Absurd, anti-player move take a fun game and make all the classes less impactful, the gameplay loop grindier, and kill nay motivation anyone had to play.

I can live with bad patches, hey it's your game. But the service itself is quite bad, lags, rubberbanding in town and endless queues are things that do not work out for a game that is basically a single player one. Was looking forward to play season 1 today, 1 hour queue....

Patch 1.1 is a great example of game design and how it should be done! it's incredible, I'm loving everything about Season 1 so far. Hit Level 100 Across 4 Characters on the Eternal Realm, I'm still not bored.

Promising game at the start but devs quickly proven to be incompetent and inept. The management use scummy and predatory moves such as nerfing exp and making gameplay much slower to squeeze out game time from playet base. I HIGHLY recommend people to give it no more than zero

Game is not fun most builds are not viable. Many features have been disabled including no set items or runes and items are not tradeable. Storyline quests are bugged can’t complete several quest lines. Game feels like a chore to play

I have no more faith in Blizzard.

This game is a waste of money and time. Cash grab on a big IP. If you did not bought this game, you're blessed, don't do it.

Not since the Star Wars Galaxies combat update or NGE release has a patch been so unanimously hated. 1.11 Season 1 should be renamed to Season of the Moribund. Long loading times, insane lag of season launch day, it is like they have learnt a thing since launch!

Game was incredibly promising at launch with a gripping story. Wanting € 20,- for a skin, but could not handle their own servers. Paying € 70 for a game, I am not able to play. Blizzard, get you stuff together, this is unbearable.
It's shame, what the video game industry has become. "unusual long waiting queue" ? Yes? People want to play your product!

Developers hyped a huge 6600 word patch with the community, but only delivered nerfs across the board.

The rational part of my brain acknowledges that intentionally ruining the game wouldn't make sense. It's bad for their reputation and finances, and it's causing players to lose faith in what could have been an amazing experience. It seems like an incredibly risky move.

As someone who isn't involved in game development, I don't fully grasp the inner workings of the Blizzard offices. I assume there are teams, separate from the developers, that pay attention to player feedback and balance the game accordingly. There should also be a team responsible for ensuring that the changes in each patch align with what the community needs, addressing necessary nerfs without going overboard.

They must have been aware of the potential issues that would arise, right? They should have anticipated this situation. So, the only conclusion I can draw is that they intentionally wanted to start fresh. Perhaps they want us to spend more time grinding during the upcoming season, aiming to maximize player retention, whether by choice or by the force of Blizzard's actions.

Blizzard must have gathered a significant amount of data on the time it took players to reach level 100. However, it appears they focused on streamers rather than the average players who worked hard to reach level 56 and were content with their progress. They used this knowledge to ensure such progress doesn't happen in Season 1, resulting in across-the-board nerfs.

It also seems likely that they assume we will forget about these issues when creating our seasonal characters. While this may be true for many players, there will be legitimate quits due to this debacle. Blizzard seems to welcome both outcomes, wanting players to forget about their previous strength.

Numerous posts have referred to this as Public Beta 1.1, and that analogy couldn't be more accurate. Blizzard likely couldn't risk giving full game access to actual beta testers, as they would have torn it apart and damaged its ratings. So instead, we got a glimpse—a necessary risk because the game was rushed. Even if it wasn't rushed, they would never have known how the game would truly fare once released to the masses. Now, having learned from this experience, we're facing the mega-nerf.

This mega-nerf establishes a new baseline, and I highly doubt they will repeat such a drastic move. At this moment, I share the frustration and disappointment felt by everyone else. I'm not here to make excuses. I simply want to express my frustrations, seek understanding, learn from past experiences with this studio, and hope for improvement in the game. I also wish for every individual involved in this decision to have recurring nightmares until the game becomes stable and players are satisfied. This situation is truly disappointing, and my faith in Blizzard has been shaken.

Season 1, its a bugged world, loading forever, invisible walls, bugged dungeon in loading screen, It just a great experience for a Huge company spent all its money on marketing and not actually making a playable game. Nerfing every single character because player are too powerful?? what about you made a unbalanced game and charging AAA price. crazy world it is

They had to nerf everything to make their game take longer, because there is nothing in the game. You do the same things over and over again and there is no challenge. Becomes renewal boring after awhile.

As Ron has shown with the Gears games he cannot maintain a positive run on a game and this shows again with Diablo 4... with the 7/18/23 update coming out its safe to say that fans weren't apart of the discussion for how to improve the game and the only thoughts of fans were how can we take away the fun, the xp and the coop experience, aspect nerfing. The entire update around 7/18 was simply to destroy all the different areas that allows a player to have fun and enjoy their time. Rod F cannot hand feedback from fans so he also blocks them as to why I am here leaving an official review. Expand

To make matters even worse, you have the gall to demand money for a premium season track without adding some decent content? You think adding a hanful of new, yet awful, items and some cosmetics will loosen our pursestrings? Have fun suckling the last bit of milk out of the average idiot's teat as you continue your malpractices.
Even after all these years I'm appalled at how you people make the dumbest decisions. First you thought implementing automated matchmaking in d2r instead of familiarised lobbies was a great idea and now this? I'll tell you, your studio truly has a knack for ruining things that started out well. Choke on it, you dimwitted c***s. Last time I will be buying one of your cursed products.

By the way your ladder launch is a f***ing joke. Login queues are laughable at best and when you manage to invoke the patience to somehow get in, the game crashes during every loading screen. I'd rather be trapped in a blizzard than play your steaming pile of s*** games any longer.

10 years of development time and Blizzard manages to release a game that is completely undercooked. Extremely buggy, unadressed VRAM leaks, a very poor UI, no endgame, limited character customization, and a season 1 patch that is honestly horrible as it nerfs everything with no compensation in terms of player power or rewards. A baffling failure overall. I have had no issue putting this game down.

There's a fair bit to like about Diablo IV — best-in-class sound design, intriguing character classes, fantastic graphics and occasionally addictive gameplay all feel like the series in its prime. However, even the best parts are let down by an undercurrent of frustrating design choices: the cynical inclusion of a Battle Pass, a bloated open world, repetitive mission structure and progression that too often feels meaningless cast a long shadow that let the latest Diablo title down. Future Seasons may refine what's here, but many of its issues sadly feel baked into the core experience. All but the most die-hard fans may wish to wait for a substantial sale on this one.

Diablo is back, and taking no prisoners. The top-quality, lengthy campaign will be enough for some, while the endgame should prove a welcome obsession for others. [Issue#30, p.84]
