First of all, I have to say that the environment looks really good, that's probably the only thing I like about this game, other than the Viking style.

I haven't skipped so many cutscenes in a game for a while, I would happily never talk to another NPC in this game again.
I played this game during a free weekend and I wanted to like this game, but I had to force myself to play the game for most of the time I played it. I couldn't bring myself to play it long enough to complete the first main settlement takeover, because it was a chore to get through.
On top of the trash fire that this game has become, it has the gaol to charge full price And has over £200 of microtransactions, it's INSANE that this is the state of triple-A games nowadays.
It's fallen SO far from what it used to be, it's laughable and ungodly frustrating.

Very disappointed. Graphics are phenomenal, the story is OK too, but the steering is SO BAD - especially when you have just played Ghost of Tsushima - where it feels a lot more dynamic. In AC Valhalla, it is too stiff and feels like a classic game: When you dodge an attack e.g., the character throws himself 4 metres to the side.

Even Odyssey was miles better to play.

Secondly I cringe seeing the climbing/parkour mechanics. The climbing in previous games was realistic, being able to climb mountains without anchor points annoys the gamer in me. Unity parkour was unrefined but great. They could have made a serious development on it.
In addition the combat gameplay, is not bad but they could’ve taken a serious hint from Sekiro or Ghost of Tsushima in their approach, button mashing is obsolete. Finally the A.I, instead of increasing the counts of npc, they could have seriously focused on their lay out in respective sets and give them core strenghts so the player have an element of fast thinking.

In conclusion it looks like an unrefined gem. I will not be returning to the series soon, but I hope Ubisoft will read what we share and think. And maybe try to make and even more immersive game. Looking at how the industry is evolving game have become an experience, here I felt like I was just playing a game no different that what I feel in excitement while playing tetris.

To long, story does not exist, ending is bad, many plot holes. But still enjoyable, nice world, it makes fun to play and the viking feeling exists. Nevertheless, many aspects must be better for the game to be really good.

Bloated, boring and endless, when will Ubisoft learn that bigger is not better? It’s baffling they made a much better entry with Odyssey on so many levels then made the decision to cut systems that actually worked well like factions and naval combat.

Ubisoft already did Valhalla but better in Odyssey. If you really want to to play these new iterations of AC games that are now action RPGs, don’t waste your time with Valhalla. Even if you make it through the whole game which you probably won’t due to its bloat and monotonous and tedious game design, you’re rewarded with a one and a half hour cutscene that wraps up the plot (which I have to point out has nothing to do with what you spend most of the game doing).

I’m normally a very generous gamer, I try to see the game for its intentions first and execution second, in Valhalla I realized at about the halfway point their intention was: let’s make a game that’s bigger than Odyssey but with Vikings. Then they stripped good mechanics away for no reason I can deduce, then they managed to churn out a mind numbingly boring story with what might be one of the laziest and insulting payoffs for the player I’ve ever experienced. Don’t even get me started on the side quests.

To top all of this off, my biggest critique and ultimately what turned this game from passable to downright failure for me, was the length of the game. The amount of filler and bloat injected into this game is almost insulting. Like yes, we’re in the age of peak capitalism and yes we’re all consumers that want to, well… consume. But Valhalla turns media content consumption into a giant pile of flavorless slop, poured into a trough for us to mind numbingly eat like livestock.

I felt almost disrespected playing this game. Is this really what you see gamers as Ubisoft? Too stupid to figure out where to go so we’re inundated with a record number of map markers, and too lazy for a challenge so even at harder difficulty and with more challenging level scaling, so everything is way to easy and once again, something becoming a common theme in my play through: boring.

I don’t know how Ubisoft managed to make the Viking conquest of England set in the AC universe boring, but once again Ubisoft never fails to move the bar in the wrong direction and surprise us in all the wrong ways.

Garbage. I'm convinced half these reviews are bots. They drop you into this game with little backstory or what you're trying to accomplish. The controls are spotty and the combat system is broken. Trying to emulate Dark Souls combat while simultaneously destroying what built your franchise (stealth) is not a good look. Couldn't get more than 10 hours into this travesty.

I really love Assassins Creed. I mean realllllly love it. I want to state that first so that this isn't construed as somebody just peeved at Ubisoft or the series as a whole. I find AC2 to be one of the best games of all time, and I loved AC3 even though it was very poorly received. I even really liked Origins and Odyssey (though the latter was a bit long in the tooth by my completion).I really love Assassins Creed. I mean realllllly love it. That is why this hurts me to say it. But this game just isn't fun.One of the first offputting things is when the only thing I heard about the game was that it was ludicrously long. Now usually thats a sometimes good/sometimes bad thing. Previous to starting this game I started and completely platinumed Ghost of Tsushima (a fair length game). One of my all time favorite RPGs is FF XIII so I am not averse to longer games. However, this was just absurdly long. And while it seems weird to complain about length, it just wasn't interesting in those hours. The combat seems fairly similar to the past two entries, the story is very dry and bland, and the characters as a whole aren't very interesting.

It doesn't help that I felt like Eivor (Main Character) was a bystander in this game. I felt like everything was happening around him/her but not that he was really doing anything all that interesting.

On top of all this, the amount of random crap you would have to pick up or do to 100% this game is just stupid and tedious. There are things like a section in Jotunheim that I literally looked at a guide and it was still going to take forever to just get things to work/appear.

I ended up, 54 hours in, quitting the game. I had made it to the last few quests and just didnt have the power level to complete the game. I could have turned the difficulty down but it was just a grind by this point and I was not going to go and grind to get more levels.

Overall it is a 5/10 for me. It is a gorgeous game, but the story, length, quests, and overall feel just arent good.

I absolutely LOVED exploring the maps, finding rare items and super cool, smaller quests. The main story is interesting and kept me engaged to the end. The graphics are beautiful and the game runs smoothly on 60fps on the PS5. Eivor is a fantastic character and so is the cast of characters around her/him.

Not once I got bored with Valhalla. Odyssey was bloated and boring and endless but I never had this feeling from this one. Hope Ubisoft stays on this track.

I have only 2 complaints, though: 1) the game can be buggy sometimes and this has an impact on quests and sidequests (fishing is broken TO THIS DAY, January 05th 2021) which means you cannot finish the fishing quests, as 2 fishes cannot be found. And 2) I did miss a "proper closure", a sense of finishing the game, seeing the credits roll. The game simply "ends" and you start the exploration. I know Ubisoft does not want us to feel the game has ended since this is business and they want to keep expanding it. But the game - and the team behind it - deserves an ending and recognition.

All that being said, Assassins Creed Valhalla is amazing and deserves to bem played.

My personal opinion so far is it is my favourite AC since AC 2. I have played as the male character and he is very likeable; i struggled with Origins and Odyssey to feel much for the protagonist but i really like Eivor.

I like the platinum my games and this one is a biggy, 120 hours to plat; but it doesnt feel quite as overwhelming as the previous two titles. Also the various collectables and side stories feel much more varied and enjoyable. So much to do, and most if not all are very enjoyable.

Id rate this a 10 but for now it does have a few bugs that can be annoying, but not game breaking that i have experienced. A big game is practical too, because games arent cheap so this can really give you your monies worth.

Overall id say if you like AC this is a must buy; and if you are new to the series then id say its a really good open world action adventure. The lore and history is interesting. I dont think many will be disappointed with this game.

    9/10 - great game

I think it would be just as good with fewer meaningless side-quests, but then again, no one forced me to do all of them, and there were some gems in those side-stories so it's a small complaint.

There are many reasons why I think this game is mediocre, but I'll start with what I liked about it.

    First, the story.
Eivor's tale was what kept me going through the game. If it wasn't for this story filled with good characters, well-written dialogues, action-packed moments, twists and turns, I would've abandoned this game. The ending is pretty lackluster and the credits doesn't even roll, but the journey told here was incredible.
One other thing that impressed me was the combat. At first, I found it very stiff and basic, but as the game progresses it gets better, more visceral and entertaining. Also, the boss battles make up for some really fun fights.
Other than those two key points that made me stay withstand this game for 80 hours, I also want to give praise to the STUNNING graphics, the very unique and quite original sidequests that made me laugh or got me invested and the soundtrack, which isn't anything special, but did a good job nonetheless.

As for Valhalla's missteps, well... It's everything else!
What bothered me the most in this game was the sheer amount of bugs. Game-breaking bugs, quest-hindering bugs, immersion-shattering bug... you name it. I had to restart the game several times due to some gruesome experiences. It was not good.
The fact that the game is bloated as hell also does not help at all. The maps are beautiful, sure (especially Asgard), but it's unnecessarily big, filled with unrewarding treasure hunting and some annoying mini-games like stacking up rocks on top of each other. Most of the puzzles revolved around getting inside a house locked by a hidden key or blocked from the inside and that got old VERY QUICK! Also, the "Find and Speak" quests made little sense to me. If everything else points me in a direction in this game, why would you waste my time with petty chasing??
There were many other reasons why I had a hard time having fun here, like the aforementioned tasteless ending to a fantastic story, the movement being EXTREMELY unyielding, tiresome level grinding, repetitive environments, useless abilities and etc.

Valhalla isn't bad, it's just overly unexceptional. Few and far between were my moments of fun.
I do not recommend this game at all. Maybe if you're a fan of the series, since the story and its combat are the only two things that matters here.

Assassins Creed is my favrotie series of all time, so im harder on this series than I am with any other game.. and while Valhalla is a great game and my score will reflect that, as an assassins creed game, assassins creed Valhalla isa complete disappointment.
Here you play as avore, becauseubisoft cares more about its precious sales you chose either man version or female version because ubisoft is afraid to commit and want to make everyone happy.. you set off on a Viking adventure to basically take over England during the dark ages.. and sadly this is more of a Viking game with assassins creed mechanics rather than an assassins creed game where you play as a Viking, the lore of the Templars and the assassins is there.. infct the whole uncovering the order side thing odyssey had going on is valhallas main focus, and I love that… however the game built around it is the most hallow money grab of a game in probably the entire assassins creed series… they sold you on Vikings, rob and pillage, this is fun about 0 times, its never fun going into an area for a raid, opening chests and collecting all of the loot, its repetive and bland, and that can be said for the entire game… im one to uncover every inch of an assassins creed game, read very document, platinum it.. but assassins creed Valhalla is so hollow that I found myself skipping through a lot of its dialog as the story is broken up into individual kingdoms you go out and help… this is less of an assassins creed game, you know.. a game where you relive memories of someone that was supposed to have actually existed to learn more about the orer and the places of the pieces of edden, and just a boring Viking game where you go from kingdom to kingdom taking care of that kingdoms individual problems, it’s a 70 hour long game of individual mini stories that by themselves could be okay experiences, but in an assassins creed game they feel like a waste of time not adding anything to the overall world of assassins creed, no one will remember Valhalla as a step forward for the series, infact in a lot fof places Valhalla steps back, for example its loot, there is next to none, yet you still collect it from time to time, its such an awkward system that you forget there are other weapons and armorus you can pick up.. youll mpost likely stick to the first or second piece of gear you find in the game and stick to that all the way through, especially thanks to the grind heavy upgrading system here that require a ridiculous amount of recourses to upgrade weapons… where Valhalla steps forward though is you making choices that actually matter, your choices have consequences, you have different paths with different characters you can go down that don’t feel empty like odyssey did.. but back to the intial point, this is great if assassins creed were an rpg seres set in different time periods… but its not, its meant to be an experience of a story already told, not an unwritten story of your grandpa and you get to chose if he banged other Vikings or not… tell me if avor was gay or not, don’t let me chose, again.. commit to a character, tell me their story… this is not a solution to the story telling critques players have.. this is assassins creed, not dragon age.. tell me the story as it happened… but this is thebiggest assins creed game to date, though bigger isn’t always better, another first, this s the first time I gave up on collecting all the things in an assassins creed game, for one,, again the world felt boring pointless and hallow, even the side quests that were supposed to be the talk of the town, except for the mini game orlog, it had its hooks in me like gwent, and I love hunting down the zealots of the land, bringing my back to the original assassins creed.. but the colelctables here, the game just makes you work too hard to get, one too many are locked behind story progress – why even put it on the map then… and evry other one ios locked behing an environment puzzle.. I don’t mind this eveyr once in a while , but map cleaning in assassins creed is a form of meditation, if I have to figure out how to get to literally every chest in the world, it isn’t meditation anymore, it’s a puzzle game outside of the story, no thanks. Also traversal here is probably the worst in the series too, its wakward, plenty pof annoying deaths at the hands of climbing, The biggest disappointment overall is this games story, the worst ending in history if you can even call it an ending and the outside of the animus world features the least likably protagonist of all time, smoking doesn’t make you look like a badass, it makes you look inconsiderate of the people around you, but again, assassins creed Valhalla is a great game, the combat is fun, you can go down different paths to play the way you prefer, brute, ranged, stealth, or a mix of all 3…

It's kinda hard to write a mixed review on a game that you played for 130+ hours.
Probably it's the biggest time spent by me on single player game. For a single run, for sure.
And yet, if I had to describe AC Valhalla in one word, it would be - "mediocre". Even the best of the missions can be called quite good at most, the rest are rather average or completely boring and repetitive.

And yet, if I had to describe AC Valhalla in one word, it would be - "mediocre".

Even the best of the missions can be called quite good at most, the rest are rather average or completely boring and repetitive.
Unfortunately, there wasn't a single moment in the game that could be called awesome or masterpiece.

Even the final twist wasn't a twist at all, since we were spoiled a lot in Eivor/Odin memories and just waited when it happens in main quest already.

However, here we will have one ending, and then another, and then another and another. It’s hard to even say how many "final quests" the developers have included in this game. Probably it suits to the size of the game itself.

In addition, even for "Ragnarok" we have a fantasy version scene and the same scene in a sci-fi futuristic style, close to the first games in the series.
So we spend all those dozens of hours traveling through 9 worlds, with all their magic, creatures, potions, spells, Scandinavian lore and close to 0 scientific explanations of all what's happening. The game says that this, although not completely accurate, but still the memories of Odin.
But then the game shows Aesir is much closer to Isu in terms of technology, costumes, culture etc.
For me, this is sincerely incomprehensible.

Yeah, yeah. Perhaps this is explained in more detail in comics, books, etc.
But if you not able to properly connect the fantasy and scientific parts of the story in 100+ hours of gameplay, where did you even get the idea that I'd have any interest to know about it from your cross-selling products?

The trend began with the Odyssey I suppose, where Isu stopped looks like people of the future with flying cars, skyscrapers, urban cities, etc. and rather turned into ancient gods with shiny sword, shields, spears and so on. The same thing happened with Valhalla.
By the way, with such a scale of the game, writers could tell at least a little whether all the Isu were a single people or they also had some kind of "nationality" with their differences in culture, technology and mentality.

England is a separate disappointment. Despite the scale of the map, all locations feel very same. Yes, some places are greener, others are greyer, some are more foggy, others are more snowy.
But overall, you feel like you're traveling around several of the same places in circles, but spending a huge amount of time moving from one to another that looks quite like the previous one.

In addition, fast travel implementation in the AC maybe the worst comparing to any other open world game.
If in most games, after icon discovery, you can travel to fires, camps, cities, often even to mini-quests and all sorts of similar icons, there are just towers, the opening of which is itself tedious.
It feels like the game wants you to spend even more time on it, even despite the insanely huge amount that it already requires to complete it.

However, I continued to play the game until I finished it, why?

I think the best comparison I can make is the experience of playing some kind of MMORPG or any other multiplayer game when you just spend some evening nights on something basic and familiar while waiting for the release of a new cool AAA game like God of War or Spider-Man.

Funny, but AC Valhalla it's some kind of single player analogue of multiplayer gaming for people who don't like multiplayer that much. Just a time killer.

The story is weak, the story is all about finding your brother and conquering provinces and rallying people to your cause, fighting your enemy. The game loop is reminiscent of AC1. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I've never played an Assassins Creed game before, but I opted for this game, since I am a huge fan of Norse mythology and for the most, Vikings. So when I bought this game, I had my expectations. 20-30 minutes into the game, most of them had been crushed.

First of all, playing for more than 5 minutes made me realize that the sound engine in this game is utter trash. For all games I've played, this has to be the worst sound quality and mixing I've ever heard. And no, I didn't have 3D audio on, and my headset is also pretty expensive. The sound quality often just sounded low-res and kind of "away" in a bucket or something. Very frustrating, but didn't stop me from getting the platinum trophy.

Second. I know about the animus and how the series are build up, ish. But for some reason, I bought this hoping and also thinking that no Animus would appear. But of course, it was, and to be honest, it was just not interesting for me. Not from the beginning, during the story and the end of the story. Nothing seemed like it made sense and it just wasn't interesting.

Third, the story in a whole is way too long and most of it seemed unnecessary. You have to make alliances with all these regions, which is cool, but they decided to put in 12 or something. Plus 4 "extra worlds/maps". Long story short, this game is simply needlessly too long and makes it along the way boring. Nevertheless.

Now that it's off my chest, I can focus on what makes it better. Yes, this is a very good Viking game. You have a hometown, where you can kind of build your own town, and from these go be the best Viking. There's raids you can ravage, and exploring you can do. There are so many elements of this game that's actually fun and interesting, but is held back a lot by the whole "Assassins Creed". For me at least.

Again, long story short. This a pretty damn good Viking game, if Viking actually was in focus. But it simply wasn't for me. And that saddens me. It gets a 7/10, since the Viking part of this game is solid. Otherwise, it would lay around 5/10.

It's an almost perfect action RPG game - good story, plenty of quite interesting OPTIONAL side activities, the best combat system in the Assassin's Creed series etc.

Drawbacks are quite standard for Ubisoft: the game is too long. I've beaten the main story with plenty of sides in about 60 hours and about 20 hours more are needed for DLC and about 10-20 hours I guess for finishing with Order and other side quests. 100h is too much. People mostly like changes in their lives :) 100h in a single game is toooo damn much. Sony makes ideal-length games: Last of Us 2, GoW 2 and Horizon 2 are about 20-30 hours. It's the best length - not short not long.

But even though I can't assess the game less than 10 of 10 because the amount of work done is terrifying. I played the game in 2023 so missed almost all bugs - good for me, LOL.

Graphics are beautiful in PS5 with rarely hiccups here and there. Gameplay is decent although after a certain level of Power, the challenge decreases significantly, you basically become overpowered at about 350 Power. You can always opt to increase difficulty and it does not impact your achievements, which is nice.

One of the rare games I went full on and collected all trophies and this may give you an idea on how it hooks you up. I spent a total of 120 hrs in game and it easily deserved 9/10 in my scale.

DLC's aside however next step in AC is very critical for the whole franchise. Origins kind of rebooted the gameplay and overall experience and I feel like with Valhalla a "trilogy" was completed. Now it is time to again have significant change in the series, otherwise it may turn into a large, repetitive and at some point, lacking innovation of a series.

I love all the changes made in the game from its previous predecessor. I really love the new exploration mechanics, its new level up system, its loot progression system i love that it changes its appearance and how satisfying each and every loot you get due to the removal of convoluted loot system... i really love how the sidequests works now i love the minigames... the stealth its okay but old ac series are still better. I love the stamina system, i love the idea of dual weapon combo system, i love that the enemies has strength and weakness like in witcher they call it codex. I love the map size, i love that it is more immersive now how quests are triggred and lastly the story is descent so far it is an improvement from odyssey i hope it stay well until its ending. Now the areas i think can still be improve: (1) the graphics, the camera, and animation of battle system it is not an improvement specially it is in next gen ps5, (2) the game can't play both 4k 60fps on ps5 how disappointing, the map its beautiful but its not a drastic improvement from odyssey.

Positive points such as the beautiful graphics on the PS5 or the art design unfortunately do not go up against my negative experiences.

A world that even feels bigger than it’s predecessors bloated with lots of filler content (despite the attempt to replace icons for colored dots), an enviroment (of England) that feels bland except for a number of cities, akward cutscenes because the characters are looking like dolls and pause way too long between sentences, a story that just doesn't seem to get going before the 30 hour mark and a ridiculous skill tree that is so detailed that you don’t feel your progression in game. As much as I wanted to meet with my excitement, this game is too far removed from the Assassin's Creed experience that I enjoy which resulted in a game that felt like one big chore.

    Pros:
    - Graphics
    - Art Design
    - Atmosphere of the cities

    Cons:
    - Bugs
    - Worst audio in a game I have ever experienced
    - Again a map that is too large bloated with filler content
    - Characters in cutscenes
    - Main character(s)
    - Story and length of the game(story)
    - Bland environments of England
    - Compared to the previous parts, the function of the raven has become totally meaningless.
    - Huge and way too detailed skill tree
    - Short gameplay loop

Gameplay-wise Valhalla feels like a stripped-down version of the previous games, Origins & Odyssey: boat battles are gone, the combat and even overall movement around the game's world feels very clunky, and the graphics are surprisingly lackluster (even though the world's design itself looks gorgeous). A certain big boss fight in the Wrath of the Druids expansion, which is still bugged to the point of the player not being able to finish it to this day in the Year of Our Lord 2022, inspired this review, and just when I was starting to enjoy Valhalla a bit more after the initial shock – progress-hindering bugs not being fixed after more than a year is simply unacceptable.

The game also feels "emptier" than the previous titles, sure there are still tons to do around the large world of AC Valhalla, but it all lacks a sense of accomplishment, for instance half of the chests you collect contain the same two or three resources that you have an abundance of before you even hit mid-game, and so you're left wondering why even bother. The story for the most part is a decent one and the characters are not super memorable, but I have to give special credit to the game's side missions or "mysteries", which are almost consistently noticeably more fun and creative than the main story itself. Overall the game seems to repeat the same old viking cliches the Vikings series already covered extensively, which makes Valhalla seem like a bit of an obvious, cheap copycat.

All in all, if the game were technically finished, if it were better written, and if the gameplay mechanics were a step forward rather than back, AC Valhalla could have had the potential to be one of the best titles in the series, as vikings seem to always be in fashion. As it stands, though, we have gameplay that you couldn't call smooth even if you really wanted to, and we have stone stacking to boot. If that doesn't give you completionists out there gray hairs, I don't know what will.

The story also pretty weak with a weak MC (who's supposed to be a God), it's like the MC just become important halfway towards the main campaign.

For now it's still Ubisoft's approach.....making money of a poor folks who pay for the stuff they should have received within the game itself. Reminder, full price AAA game.
7...is fair enough. Plot is full of holes. Game pretends 18+, but still feels censored and simplified.

One of my favorite games so far.
In my opinion much better than AC Odyssey.
It’s addicting to discover and get all the collectibles, become stronger and upgrade your equipment. Best part for me: there is no overflow of quests in your quest log. You play the main story line and discover nearly randomly the side quests. Besides I like the higher grade of violence in AC Valhalla. Fighting

All in all very motivating gameplay!

    Man weiß, was man kriegt.

This game just gets overhyped because of the viking storylkne which is really bad. Ubisoft only had profit in mind when making this. Horrible game

Assassin's Creed Valhalla should be 2020's game of the year. because I said so. It has the most beautiful world in the franchise and one of the most beautiful worlds Ubisoft have ever made. With an amazing story, I didn't want to stop playing the game because I didn't want to leave the beautiful world and the amazing character, I wanted to see how this world and story is gonna end. The story is not the best in the franchise but it's better than the previous 2 Assassin's Creed games. I liked the amazing ending and I'm so excited to play and see the next Assassin's Creed game. And the amazing gameplay and less gears, unlike the previous 2 Assassin's Creed games. The good thing that made Assassin's Creed Valhalla special than the previous 2 Assassin's Creed games is that Assassin's Creed Valhalla has social stealth. On of the best features that makes you an Assassin. Now I talked about the positive points in the game and now it's time to talk about the negative points. Assassin's Creed Valhalla had glitches in the post launch. I personally had a glitch that I can't get the last mission of the Order of The Ancients, but thankfully they fixed it fast. 98% of the glitches has been fixed and Ubisoft are working on the rest of the glitches and the DLCs. Norway and England look both incredible. Contrast between them makes both of them special in their own way. I love architecture in England, old bridges, towers, etc. Graphically stunning. Power level goes up really fast, if you actually loot chests and stuff. No grind or bs like that. Well done Ubisoft.

I mean what can say is that i bought it day 1 and it was little rough, but playable for sure. Now it's in way better state and even tho it needs more patching, early game (and by that i mean at least first 50 hours) is all good. What needs more work is endgame, but overall it's very well made, maps are huge and there's so much to do and explore.

This is best Ubisoft game in 3 years. I can't believe they delivered so well this time. Odyssey was big disappointment to me, so i wasn't expecting much. Yeah it had some bugs, but ones that annoyed me got fixed with patch 1.0.4. Apparently Cyberpunk 2077 is even buggier, so whoever whines about Valhalla bugs is just hypocrite at this point.

There are two competing experiences here: that as as Assassin, and that as a Viking, that either on its own feels like it might have been a triumph and better than this good but not great Assass-king hybrid we have.

Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla effortlessly plants its banner as the best open world RPG available for the new consoles. This Viking epic flexes its gore-soaked, tattooed muscles when it comes to world-building, and medieval England wows with its enchanting untamed vistas. It’s also portioned out at a steady pace and, if not for the repetitive, limited combat, Valhalla could have ranked even higher among our favourite games in the series.

Is Assassin’s Creed Valhalla the best entry in the series yet? Some would be tempted to say so. While the map size might overwhelm some players, it remains an easy game to mainline with the right navigation mode turned on. In fact, the quick load times help to make this an even easier task than in previous generations. This is an iteration of Assassin’s Creed that has a bit of everything from the previous games, as refined as we have seen to date.
