Haven't finished it yet, but i can say i have had so much more fun with this, than i did with Odyssey and Origins combined. Valhalla finally feels like actual AC game. Specially after they added Assassin outfits. There used to be some bugs, but most of them are fixed by now. Good game.

The best Assassins's Creed game since Black Flag, the best fighting mechanics in the series and finally Darby McDevitt made aweeeeesome plot twists, but still the game is not perfect.Eivor most of the time is stupid,60 hours is too much for the story line and most of England story lines are fillers.Despite the weak parts of the game I liked it very much. Ubisoft haters are most unlikable people on this planet. Reading these "so called" user reviews makes me sick. I have never seen so much pathetic bitterness, anger and whining towards video game. Specially, because none of this negativity is justified. Assassin's Creed Valhalla is a good game and Far Cry 6 will be good game and This is just fact that these haters need to accept and move on!

Better graphics than Elden Ring, that's for sure. Overall this game surprised me, it's not best AC game, but it has more to offer than Odyssey or Origins. Story is not most interesting thing in this game, but open world and exploration makes this game solid. I still wish they would go back to Black Flag/Unity era tho.

Above all the stories of every kingdom & the characters are all individual & stay in my memory (compared to many of the previous games a big step forward if you play games mainly for the story like me). With the viking impact this AC feels different than previous ACs. I really like that.
I only have to negative feelings about this game. 1) Fighting is still not challenging enough & feels for most of the game the same (I would wish something like the combat of Ghost of Tsushima) 2) The game is too long. I needed around 90 hours to play through the main campaign. Nobody needs such a long game, perfect length for main story is max. 40 hours if a game is good otherwise it gets a bit boring.

The DLCs were each fantastic additions, and I thoroughly enjoyed my nearly 400 hours so far a playing as male Eivor. This game is just super fun, gorgeous graphics and landscapes and thrilling at times, with comical and relaxing bits mixed it to switch it up. I got the game Day 1 and did not experience the glitches that other players have noted (I played it using Xbox Series X|S). All around I’d give this a solid 10/10 A+ and highly recommend, especially if you love the Viking Age, Assassin’s Creed, or looking for an RPG done right, that plays like a third person shooter almost (using arrows and medieval melee weapons though). Can’t speak highly enough of this game, UbiSoft crushed it and I am looking forward to the totally new purchasable add-on coming early spring 2022. Expand

like it's... fine? i forgot about the story about 3 hours into it and just used it to fight enemies and loot cool gear. much in the vein of Fallout 4, the story is so lacking and the open world so vast (and i should say empty of any real driving force) that it's easy to lose yourself in fetch quests.

The game is so stretched out with pointless traveling back and forth for miles just to have a useless dialogue with someone that starts the next quest. This is not what the fans of the series meant when they said that they wanted some change. We wanted improvements on the mechanics that the previous AC games had. You know the mechanics that made people fall in love with the AC series in the first place? not a hack and slash "RPG wannabe" game where enemies barely react to your attacks. We don’t want a bad Witcher 3 clone every year set in another part of the world...there are literally 2 Assassin’s in this “Assassin’s Creed” game, that’s 2 more than there were in Odyssey but even that aspect of the game is just pointless because all they do is act like a deposit box for a collectible. Don't waste your money! The gear that you unlock throughout the game looks okay but wait until you see what they have for sale in their store page, store gear looks miles better when compared to what you unlock by just playing the game. They clearly put more effort into the store gear than they do on unlockables. The level of greediness, to sell a game for $60-$70 and still manipulate people into buying stuff from your store by putting the best looking gear in there. They built up the AC series just to milk the player-base but hey we saw what happened to the recent COD and BF 2042 games. At this rate, Assassins Creeds fall is inevitable and I can't wait to be there when the sales drop and players decide that they had enough of your bs schemes.

This is possibly LAST real AC game, so i'm not sure why anyone would even complain about it. Either play it and enjoy the last part in this series or then don't play it. It is what it is. But what it is- big beautiful open world, good graphics, very good voice acting (from male main character, female was meh), historical locations and so on. So yea i don't get the whining, because Ubisoft wont make anything better anyway anymore. This is the last one. Spent 2 hours climbing mountains in Norway and it was maybe best fun i have had in 2020 video game. This game can be extremely relaxing, climbing some huge mountain and just looking at the distance while wind slowly blows. It can also be very brutal, if you want, you can fight so many different enemies and bosses. There's so much to do, so much to explore and it's actually fun. Amazing game.

They most likely don't even know / care about history that much. They just wanna whine about every game Ubisoft makes, because they think it makes them look cool, but in reality it makes them look stupid, because Assassin's Creed has millions of fans all over the world and they clearly understand the appeal of these games. These are likely more level headed people, so no wonder they don't come to sites like metacritic, they don't even care about places like that. But this site attracts losers who just wanna hate and whine. I Found this news-site from 2017 that was about "fake reviews on AC Origins". Then why has nobody removed all these fake zeros?? Or maybe they don't care anymore, because last of us 2 gets 100s of fake positive and negative reviews every single day. If haters would get their way and all these other companies would go away then gaming would be dead because we would get 1 game in 5 years. Because that's all they want. "GTA 5 is not GTA anymore because you can do way more stuff than in GTA 1 and GTA 2". That makes no sense, but that's exactly how these people sound like who say "Valhalla is not AC anymore". Yes it is! Deal with it!

Now it's solid open-world AC game, but sadly it's not better than Black Flag. I just wish story/mission design was more interesting or unique. Black Flag had all kinds of unique mission designs and also story was better. In Valhalla missions aren't that interesting, but there's still many fun ones. But true star of Valhalla is it's open world and freedom to do whatever you feel like. That's what was missing from AC 1 for me, because these games can simply be so much more than just generic assassination games. AC is not and should not be Hitman. AC should be ALWAYS compared to games like GTA or Red Dead Redemption. You can do so much more in these games than just the basic story stuff and that same logic should apply to AC and most people seem to understand that. It seems to be minority who complains that AC is not so linear anymore. Most people seem to like that freedom and more activities. This open world is there for a reason! Might as well fill that open world with content and that's what Ubisoft did in both Black Flag and Valhalla, even Unity and Syndicate. That is the right direction.

Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla effortlessly plants its banner as the best open world RPG available for the new consoles. This Viking epic flexes its gore-soaked, tattooed muscles when it comes to world-building, and medieval England wows with its enchanting untamed vistas. It’s also portioned out at a steady pace and, if not for the repetitive, limited combat, Valhalla could have ranked even higher among our favourite games in the series.

Is Assassin’s Creed Valhalla the best entry in the series yet? Some would be tempted to say so. While the map size might overwhelm some players, it remains an easy game to mainline with the right navigation mode turned on. In fact, the quick load times help to make this an even easier task than in previous generations. This is an iteration of Assassin’s Creed that has a bit of everything from the previous games, as refined as we have seen to date.
