The audio is atrocious, I mean so bad that it's unplayable. Combat isn't great and feels like you're just punching air. Can't say much for the story as I have only played 3 hours. Overall not great.

    İyiGame Good Things

    Story (No spoilers)
The story of the game lasts for a minimum of 60 maximum 90 hours according to the gameplay. This is good news for those who pre-order the game like me or buy it shortly after the release, but it contains a handicap that can be liked in general, but it progresses very disconnected from each other, unfortunately. The 20-minute episode in the final of the game did not satisfy me, but this does not show that it is bad, I can say that it is an Assasin's Creed game with a good final.

    Play
Even though it feels very strange after experiencing 100+ hours of power fantasy and origins in Assasin's Creed Odyssey, the gameplay of the game depends on the person's ability to parry and attack at the right time is a concept that I always like and generally the finisher animations repeat themselves after 70 hours of playing. I can also say that it is satisfactory, the feeling of the hit is still weak, but it is stronger than origins and odyssey in general, I can say that I did not experience a certain error problem or animation glitch while playing, so it has a nice gameplay but unfortunately it cannot handle a 70-hour game.
    Graphics
I finished the game on PlayStation 4 and I can say that the water appearance and effects were better compared to the first 2 games of the series, but of course since it is a brand that releases a game every year or 2 years, I did not see a difference, of course, this is my ps4. It may also be due to my playing so I do not go too long here.
    Game's Map
England and Norway are beautifully reflected, but I think it is too colorful for a country that has constant rainfall and sees the sun once a month, or I look at it in detail.

The lack of traditional side quests leaves the game filled with boring "world events" that have no plot to them whatsoever. The change to the loot and upgrade system makes it way too easy to max out your weapons early on and removes any reason to loot anything throughout the game. I was a huge fan of AC Origins and AC Odyssey and this game was a huge let down. Expand

Valhalla is a great game in the same level of Ghost of Tsushima. An interesting story in the times of viking invasions of England. The game changes for better the mechanics of Odyssey and Origins. The combat is looking at The level of Odyssey, and The freedom is bigger than in other titles of the saga. The game comes back to sandbox. Welcome again!!!!

I don't appreciate being offered gay sex every other scene when I clearly made choices in game to play as a straight guy. If you want to make a gay game, do that, and make it clear that's your agenda. It's creepy to sneak it into games you know kids and straights play. Maybe give an option, if people don't pick your preferred gender bender ideology, live with it.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. 80 HEURES!!!!

Beautiful game with a grimy realism. You can almost smell the smoke-filled homes and unwashed bodies. Darkest and most lurid game in the history of Assassin's Creed. For the first time I can recall there are some real moral choices you have to make that aren't easy, and the game can sometimes become philosophical.

On the downside the game is very buggy, and even 9 months after release serious bugs exist that can prevent you from fully completing the game. Often my character would turn around completely when aiming with the bow, or get warped to the edge of the game map. Sometimes got stuck in walls. For the entire 2nd expansion my horse refused to run(very annoying). AC: Valhalla was also too wordy. There were far too many cutscenes and too much dialogue with people endlessly yapping about nothing. It's turning into a JRPG with all the bloviating.

The absolute worst part of the game though is all the terrible puzzles. it seems like every other treasure chest requires you to solve a little puzzle. Some of these require keys, hidden underground entrances, magic entryways, or my favorite, a game of find the hidden explosive urn. A lot of treasure is hidden behind walls that can only be destroyed using explosives, and there will be 1 explosive urn hidden somewhere relatively closeby, but can still take 20 minutes to find. It's very obnoxious and I recommend just using Youtube videos, because there was no gameplay value in wandering around until you stumbled upon the hidden answer. There are also these stacking cairn puzzles where you have to play Jenga with rocks. It too is frustrating and a terrible waste of time in terms of gameplay.

The story for example was blandly filled with repetitive quests with a clunky combat system. It took me about 50 hours to finish the story and it just felt unsatisfying at the end. I am biased I guess. I love scripted engaging storytelling and the RPG element like dialogue and decision choices of the previous AC and now AC Valhalla isn't a real AC experience for me. The last straw for me is apparent under the development of this game. The facial animation felt outdated, all AC protagonist movements are the same (i.e., running) and I can't tell what type of emotion the characters of this game are trying to portray. This is not a spoiler since it was shown in the trailer, but the character Randvi looks just like Kassandra from AC Odyssey. For example: They took Kassandra character from odyssey and put her on valhalla under the name of Sigurd's Wife. At least origins goes way to odyssey to explain the origin of assassins creed blade and bloodline of characters, plus have some historical references (im not positive there either but its something). Valhalla doesnt explain anything or cover something from previous ac stories. Just the "Hidden Ones" pass by to take some talismans and give you the blade and the quest to kill and gather these talismans (not continue with spoilers). Another thing is that idiotic big maps. Same mistake on Odyssey same on Valhalla. The only good thing here are the graphics. The title is big hit only because of the first 3 ac games and because of that the people love the series even if it fails. After that the series starting to take the downfall. From 1 to 10, i give VO and Graphics a 10, Music/Sound an 8 (encounter a glitch) and Open World/Story a BIG ZER0. Why zero? Because they must stop those big maps and if people read some history vikings they will read that vikings never have/had that rage thing today people always mention. Go read Battle of Stamford Bridge to see how they lose from Anglo-Saxons twice that day. Because one strong man hold them in a tiny bridge they think every viking have that rage. In every country and history in the world there is a man with proud and strong will and body. Maybe they must include a DLC in the future, how vikings raid europe and try to conquer Balkans and LOSE to Balkan countries epicly. Viking atmosphere works pretty well, from Norse mythology to architecture and customs.
Skill tree can be overwhelming but it makes sense in time. Interesting feature is variety of weapon combinations you can wield (although I played shield and axe all the time).
All in all, AC Valhalla is game that can provide hours of fun but instead of making the best of what's missing in AC world history and storyline, it is wasting its potential focusing too much on graphics pushing all other aspects to background.

    GOOD PARTS:
Loot: I really disliked the loot system in Origins and Odyssey. It was just to much of everything. But now you have just a few items but you can upgrade them a lot which will save a lot of time switching armor everytime you find something new.

Story: I REALLY like the story. Almost every character is interesting and have a lot of personality. The story is kinda simple but still entertaining.

Graphics and sounds: The world looks amazing on my midrange PC (ryzen 3600, RTX 2060) and the sounddesign is just wonderful.

Sidequests: I like that most of them are short.

    BAD PARTS:
Fighting: I mean its cool that you can rip somebodys head of but it becomes boring and just steals time after the 10th time. And it happens a lot in a fight. More annoying then the finisher is the timing for dodging. Don't get me wrong sometimes you know exactly when to dodge or block but othertimes they show you the indicator and only attack you after 5 seconds.

Stealth: It's sadly really bad. The thing that made AC so wunderful and special is almost gone. It's unnecessary and just time consuming. You get nothing out of it. No boosts, no money. And sometimes Avoir ist just doing weird things and jumps out of the bush when you want to get him in the bush. I think the only implement it to call the game a AC game.

Climbing: Awful. If you want to climb up a mountain it's ok but if you want to do some parkour it's terrible. He just drops down or jumps to the other side of the wall and I have to admit it made me very angry a lot of times.

Bugs: Just a lot of different bugs. Can't say so much because it's just really bad programmed.

    CONCLUSION:

I love the idea of the game and I love the writing. But the gameplay lost it track a long time ago. And it's just so badly programmed. I mean you should think of somebody like Ubisoft a bit more. It's not just a random Indie studio it's **** Ubisoft, a bilion company.

You feel yourself start to get better at combat as the game goes along. Is it perfect? No. Is every second an exciting adventure? No. But you can see that there was a lot of effort and love put in to the game as they tried to take the franchise in a more depth-filled direction. With a few years to perfect the engine and really flesh-out what style of game they want to create, Assassin's Creed could soon be a foundational cornerstone of AAA titles. That's the only frustrating part about playing the game -- you feel like your just scratching the surface in terms of story-telling, combat, parkour, and level design. But no one can deny that this title is an absolute work of art. Expand

Decent AC. Too many bugs though, also sometimes looks like a next gen game and then you look at the fire, explosions and some textures and think "my God this looks lime a ps3 game". Also very repetitive, feels a lot like working and not having a good time. Story is meh.

Very good Assassin's Creed as expected, trailers didn't mislead and there's actually way more interesting content than i could have ever expected. So far i have seen three maps, Norway, England and Vinland (North-America). There's this "dream-world" where you meet all the gods, that's also really cool. Hyped for Ireland and Paris DLC's.

While not terrible, Valhalla is a huge letdown after Odyssey. The controls are extremely clunky, and climbing/jumping around is a huge pain now. It’s also very buggy, I’ve found myself getting stuck many times. Characters often don’t look at each other when they’re speaking, audio cuts in and out, and the facial expressions/body language can be flat out embarrassing. This game doesn’t look or feel like it belongs in 2020 or on the PS5, but unfortunately that can be par for the course for Ubisoft sometimes.

The storytelling is also a huge letdown. Most of the main quest arcs are separated into standalone stories, none of which are particularly compelling, but instead are predictable and redundant. This format also fails to allow you to develop any particular attachment to the characters. As such, you don’t really care what they’re saying or what happens to them. It’s also the third consecutive game with almost no connection to the Assassin’s brotherhood, something that was forgivable with the previous titles, but now just completely lacking. Also it’s supposed to be set around the late 800s, so ostensibly the brotherhood should be getting pretty established by this point. That entire part of the lore made these games unique and exciting, instead this now just feels like a fairly week and rushed game about vikings. Finally, it seems as though stealth is on the way out too.

I could say a lot more, but simply put, this is a generic and uninspired game.

Valhalla's map may be slightly smaller than Odyssey's, but Ubisoft still seem intent on stretching their content as thin as it will go. Valhalla doesn't veer from Ubi's open world formula, which involves littering the map with busywork. At least Odyssey's loot was interesting - in Valhalla it's mostly reduced to a ingots, 'supplies' and 'raw materials' - hardly an exciting reward for completing a raid.

Valhalla structures its story into chapters set in various English counties. For me this brings with it an issue with the characters - not only is the main character pretty dull, but the supporting characters are never around long enough to be fleshed out to the point of being interesting or likeable. The story is stretched out over so many hours that it lacks any kind of momentum, but it boils down to this - the good guy Vikings want to take over England because we're told the Saxons are bad. This includes any settlement you can raid, which involves slaughtering hapless guards minding their own business. But it's worth it to collect yet another iron ingot...

The game beings to take an interesting turn by transporting you to the realm of Asgard, although this quickly becomes just another area crammed with icons and pointless collectibles.

The gameplay follows Odyssey with light and heavy attacks, God of War-style abilities with cool-downs mapped to face buttons, and the use of Witcher senses to investigate crime scenes and follow trails etc. Some set pieces and large scale battles can be enjoyable, but really there's no point in taking on the endlessly spawning enemies, and instead you're better off just running to the next objective.

I never thought this would be the case, but I think I enjoyed Odyssey more, as at least it had stunning locations, Greek myths and interesting loot. Valhalla is the last AC I'll buy.

The story is so bad that I routinely would drop the game just to go back to old AC games to see if I was dreaming about the great characters and story (Spoiler Alert: I was not). Parkour is easily the worst it's ever been, in Unity we had the most stylish and cool parkour we've seen in the AC franchise. Syndicate was a downgrade, but it was passable. Origins and Odyssey had bad parkour, some of the worst in the entire franchise, and Valhalla does not improve on their already low starting point in origins in the parkour standard. Even the combat is lackluster, in origins you had great combat since the environment and presentation was so good, along with the bar system. Odyssey had even better combat as it introduced these crazy abilities which spiced things up. Valhalla adds a stamina bar, and that's it. Every single encounter can be cheesed from a range with the exception of 4 off the top of my head. The game goes on for way too long. I cannot recommend this game to anybody. It's a horrible game. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. SPOILER!!!

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. SPOILER!!! First of all I must say that the game doesn't have the feeling of evolution and upgrade of equipment, secondly the sound is terrible because it generates an absurd echo every time you arrive in an inhabited place or a village, on the other hand the woods in the most of the time they have a sepulchral sound there is no birdsong or even vegetation noises thirdly the saturation of items to explore, Ubisoft has not yet learned to take stock in its games, everything is in excess, the mysteries, the collectibles , there comes a time when you fell into boredom, but in my case I like to leave the map clean due to a kind of OCD, however the saturation discouraged me, fourthly the outcome of the narrative is a total fiasco, the bugs hindered me to acquire the trophies, there is no immersive story, there are undetermined conquests of territories and in many cases the cinematics is the same to start a final attack on the enemy fortress, there aren't even 'killers' in the game, because the q that appear are actually the incarnation of the god Loki (Basim) and an apprentice break foot (Haytham) who at the beginning of the game already takes a knockout and it's up to you viking warrior to save the same. It took me a while to understand that the protagonist is a kind of Odin incarnation and the alleged killer is also Loki's incarnation. As an AC fan I must say that this game is the worst in the saga in my opinion. After 136 hrs of game I couldn't platinum it due to bugs, (the giant fair that has to force me to baptize myself in the mystery near Winchester just didn't fight me, did it find out I'm agnostic?) there is no conclusion of the story, very shallow in my view. In the end I felt Berserker's anger at Ubisoft. I'm also a big fan of Norse mythology and history, but this game didn't live up to my expectations. Expand

This is disappointing. There is some parts of this game that are great but it doesn't feel right. Its better than Odyssey, no doubt but it's going further away from the assassins theme. I don't know how you can call yourself an assassin when your a war lord of sorts. Doing raids, going into full on army battles. There is nothing stealthy about it. Doing raids, going into full on army battles. There is nothing stealthy about it. Now you might be thinking that's not totally out of character for an AC game but not at this level. Play the first six or so games and they feel like AC games but this is so far from it.

I don't know what this game is but it isn't an AC game. Finish the series and call this the Battle Through Time series or something cause slapping on the AC badge on this isn't fooling me.

But if I'm to judge this on its own it looks fantastic and the story isn't half bad. The combat isn't great and the leveling up systems are terrible. Certain areas require you to be at a power of 90 when you could only be at a power of maybe 25 if you were only doing story missions. The game requires you to go around doing random repetitive tasks to move through the game. That's crap.

This game requires you to loose your mind doing repetitive crap or for you to be crazy enough to pay for an XP boost on top of your 80 euro game. Seriously!

I think the AC franchise is done. I'm done with it. I'm giving this a four. Some will love it but I'm bothered by it. Damn micro transactions.

Created an account just for this. It's a year later, the game has had massive updates, but still has the exact same game breaking bugs from launch and no workarounds. More armor as microtransactions than actually exist in the game, and the worst support I've ever dealt with. The whole thing should be burned down

Bland and far too drawn out game. Boring gameplay loop, story was okay but got sidelined by the awful errand-boy main plot and the DLCs are the worst ones in the franchise so far. The only game I ever experienced fatigue in. Would not recommend.

Stretched narrative, the developers do not respect your time. Not everyone has the opportunity to spend 100 hours on your empty worlds. Every year it gets worse and worse. I hope you go bankrupt and don't waste people's time and money.

For me AC died after Odyssey. Ubisoft decided make games for lgbt communities. All woman characters became ugly and fat. Man characters became stupid and sick.

There are two competing experiences here: that as as Assassin, and that as a Viking, that either on its own feels like it might have been a triumph and better than this good but not great Assass-king hybrid we have.

Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla effortlessly plants its banner as the best open world RPG available for the new consoles. This Viking epic flexes its gore-soaked, tattooed muscles when it comes to world-building, and medieval England wows with its enchanting untamed vistas. It’s also portioned out at a steady pace and, if not for the repetitive, limited combat, Valhalla could have ranked even higher among our favourite games in the series.

Is Assassin’s Creed Valhalla the best entry in the series yet? Some would be tempted to say so. While the map size might overwhelm some players, it remains an easy game to mainline with the right navigation mode turned on. In fact, the quick load times help to make this an even easier task than in previous generations. This is an iteration of Assassin’s Creed that has a bit of everything from the previous games, as refined as we have seen to date.
