In my opinion one of the best AC games so far. I did not like the protagonist in AC origins. With Eivor I can identify myself. Above all the stories of every kingdom & the characters are all individual & stay in my memory (compared to many of the previous games a big step forward if you play games mainly for the story like me). With the viking impact this AC feels different than previous ACs. I really like that.
I only have to negative feelings about this game. 1) Fighting is still not challenging enough & feels for most of the game the same (I would wish something like the combat of Ghost of Tsushima) 2) The game is too long. I needed around 90 hours to play through the main campaign. Nobody needs such a long game, perfect length for main story is max. 40 hours if a game is good otherwise it gets a bit boring.

Suprisingly amazing game, if we exclude all microtransactions, dlc and bugs, i ve got platinum trophy for this game. I spent nearly 10 hours on it. And I say - it worth it. The lore of the AC series is developing in a satisfactory way. It's very unexpected.

Valhalla is an unpolished, messy of an AC.
The sound, still after months after release's still awful. The combat and stealth are the worse we've had on an AC game. The story is god awful, along with the crappy voice acting. It's unfortunately really bad. I love AC series, loved Odyssey, but this one is just trash.
Don't buy this game, it's not worth. Ubisoft standards are lowering more and more.

For example: They took Kassandra character from odyssey and put her on valhalla under the name of Sigurd's Wife. At least origins goes way to odyssey to explain the origin of assassins creed blade and bloodline of characters, plus have some historical references (im not positive there either but its something). Valhalla doesnt explain anything or cover something from previous ac stories. Just the "Hidden Ones" pass by to take some talismans and give you the blade and the quest to kill and gather these talismans (not continue with spoilers). Another thing is that idiotic big maps. Same mistake on Odyssey same on Valhalla. The only good thing here are the graphics. The title is big hit only because of the first 3 ac games and because of that the people love the series even if it fails. After that the series starting to take the downfall. From 1 to 10, i give VO and Graphics a 10, Music/Sound an 8 (encounter a glitch) and Open World/Story a BIG ZER0. Why zero? Because they must stop those big maps and if people read some history vikings they will read that vikings never have/had that rage thing today people always mention. Go read Battle of Stamford Bridge to see how they lose from Anglo-Saxons twice that day. Because one strong man hold them in a tiny bridge they think every viking have that rage. In every country and history in the world there is a man with proud and strong will and body. Maybe they must include a DLC in the future, how vikings raid europe and try to conquer Balkans and LOSE to Balkan countries epicly. They take the england story and turn it into viking immigrant story. There is a Scandinavian strong history and culture, and they could create something beautiful and nice from there. Not a god damn immigration story. Big fault. Expand

Better graphics than Elden Ring, that's for sure. Overall this game surprised me, it's not best AC game, but it has more to offer than Odyssey or Origins. Story is not most interesting thing in this game, but open world and exploration makes this game solid. I still wish they would go back to Black Flag/Unity era tho.

Beautiful game graphically but honestly that's it. Incredibly long story, around 60 hours of game play and it gets boring after 30. Story is just alright, you get repetitive things to do and the world feels soulless. Would be interesting for Ubisoft to try out some new ideas with its games and finally come out with some new IPs. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. SPOILER!!! First of all I must say that the game doesn't have the feeling of evolution and upgrade of equipment, secondly the sound is terrible because it generates an absurd echo every time you arrive in an inhabited place or a village, on the other hand the woods in the most of the time they have a sepulchral sound there is no birdsong or even vegetation noises thirdly the saturation of items to explore, Ubisoft has not yet learned to take stock in its games, everything is in excess, the mysteries, the collectibles , there comes a time when you fell into boredom, but in my case I like to leave the map clean due to a kind of OCD, however the saturation discouraged me, fourthly the outcome of the narrative is a total fiasco, the bugs hindered me to acquire the trophies, there is no immersive story, there are undetermined conquests of territories and in many cases the cinematics is the same to start a final attack on the enemy fortress, there aren't even 'killers' in the game, because the q that appear are actually the incarnation of the god Loki (Basim) and an apprentice break foot (Haytham) who at the beginning of the game already takes a knockout and it's up to you viking warrior to save the same. It took me a while to understand that the protagonist is a kind of Odin incarnation and the alleged killer is also Loki's incarnation. As an AC fan I must say that this game is the worst in the saga in my opinion. After 136 hrs of game I couldn't platinum it due to bugs, (the giant fair that has to force me to baptize myself in the mystery near Winchester just didn't fight me, did it find out I'm agnostic?) there is no conclusion of the story, very shallow in my view. In the end I felt Berserker's anger at Ubisoft. I'm also a big fan of Norse mythology and history, but this game didn't live up to my expectations. Expand

Took 128 hours to do everything in the base game. Combat and atmosphere seems to be inspired by God of War(2018). Medieval England is my favorite setting since Rome in AC: Brotherhood. Beautiful game with a grimy realism. You can almost smell the smoke-filled homes and unwashed bodies. Darkest and most lurid game in the history of Assassin's Creed. For the first time I can recall there are some real moral choices you have to make that aren't easy, and the game can sometimes become philosophical.

On the downside the game is very buggy, and even 9 months after release serious bugs exist that can prevent you from fully completing the game. Often my character would turn around completely when aiming with the bow, or get warped to the edge of the game map. Sometimes got stuck in walls. For the entire 2nd expansion my horse refused to run(very annoying). AC: Valhalla was also too wordy. There were far too many cutscenes and too much dialogue with people endlessly yapping about nothing. It's turning into a JRPG with all the bloviating.

The absolute worst part of the game though is all the terrible puzzles. it seems like every other treasure chest requires you to solve a little puzzle. Some of these require keys, hidden underground entrances, magic entryways, or my favorite, a game of find the hidden explosive urn. A lot of treasure is hidden behind walls that can only be destroyed using explosives, and there will be 1 explosive urn hidden somewhere relatively closeby, but can still take 20 minutes to find. It's very obnoxious and I recommend just using Youtube videos, because there was no gameplay value in wandering around until you stumbled upon the hidden answer. There are also these stacking cairn puzzles where you have to play Jenga with rocks. It too is frustrating and a terrible waste of time in terms of gameplay.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. SPOILER!!!

Knowing that next one will be huge fail (because it's live service bs), Valhalla will be basically last AC for a very long time, so instead of hating on it, people should be actually happy that it exists. Valhalla might not become a classic like Black Flag, Unity or Syndicate, but at least Ubisoft tried this time. Expand

The order of the ancients was not that intriguing to me as the cult of cosmos was in Asassin's creed odyssey or even the order of the ancients in Assassin's creed origins i didn't feel that connected to them i didn't see them as threatening as in the previous games maybe because they where not the main focus the main focus of the story is the ancient gods THE ISO AC valhalla connects Asassin's creed origins and Odyssey story it was an amazing viking experience i wish Bjorn ironside was alive i wish Ragnar Lothbrok was alive so i could raid with them I wish they hired voice actors from the viking TV series and made the characters look like in the history TV series vikings i wish i could raid with Lagertha and sale on the boats of Floki that was a missed opportunity i don't think ubisoft handled the sons of ragnar partically well they made Ivar the boneless blinded by revenge and Ivar is never that blind he is very cunning and smart like his father Ragnar i was forced to kill Ivar there was no other options and Ubba's character felt like a filler in the story he is one of the great sons of ragnar yet they barely included him in the story they made him gullible and gave him a pointless death i liked King Alfred reminded me of the King Alfred from The Last kingdom i loved the progression of Basim it was a big surprise who Eivor Sigurd and Basim turned out to be i feel like Sigurd should have had more involvement in the story it felt kinda lonely traveling most of the time without him raiding and plundering without him i really loved sigurd's character i felt like he needed more involvement into the story of the game and gameplay of the game and i could say the same of King Harald the king of all norway we saw him in the begining of the game and than nothing that left a sour taste in my mouth since i love kind Harald in the viking Tv series i would love to see more from King Harald if the game is gonna have more DLC expansions after the Siege of Paris. this game has an overall improvement from Origins and Odyssey in the combat mechanics the dual weilding system is the best thing that happened to this game there is so many build choices you can go and the movesets are awesome i love the legendary weapons and the blacksmith crafting systems i love that you don't have to grind an entire decade for materials to upgrade your gear like in Odyssey i love that most of your ship crew fights with you when you raid i actually want the entire crew of the ship to plunder with me some of them stay on the ship the abilities are great Odyssey had better abilities the armor sets weapons and runes could use better perks i platinumed this game over 400hours i'm off to play Paris DLC but even with all it's flaws this is the best viking adventure and it will be remembered as the last best Assassin's creed of all time Expand

It's very obvious that more people actually like Valhalla way more than Odyssey. It's their best selling PC game of all time! i just feel Ubisoft fans are hiding in the shadows. They are too mature to argue on internet. They don't care about pointless drama. They just want to enjoy games. But i feel like sometimes Ubisoft fans should fight back stronger. Yeah it's cool you praise these things on reddit, but there's way more important sites and metacritic is one of them.

No youtuber never mentions some random reddit "praise post" but they always show metacriti'c user score and these videos get 100 000's on views. This is manipulation 101. I know it's pathetic, because metacritic user score is most meaningless thing on this planet, but fact is, that these people are using it. It's just bunch of losers, usually some tasteless crackwatch-reddit users who hate on Ubisoft in general. They don't even play their games, they don't even care about their games. They are just pathetic, whiny losers and nothing else.

When Far Cry 6 comes out in few month, i guarantee, bunch of Ubisoft haters (who will never buy Far Cry 6 btw) start giving it 0/10 scores and i feel like this time Ubisoft fans really, really need to fight back. It has gone too far. Cdproject red released most talentless game in 20 years and these people still try to praise it, while hating on Ubisoft's perfectly decent games that actually work. Like i said, these scores don't matter at all, they never did, never will, but i feel like Ubisoft fans (and there are millions) should for once actually try to fight back, even if it's just to annoy these haters. Even that would be worth it.

It has nothing to do with company. Ubisoft has made lots of games i don't care about at all (Breakpoint, Division 2, For Honor, Crew 2) and if Valhalla would be one of these bad games i would ignore it as well, but that's not the case. Valhalla simply isn't bad game. It's just not and nothing, absolutely nothing will change that fact.

But at the same time the roaming around for them emerges you in the beautifully crafted world.

Throughout my playthrough i encountered a few bugs and had to reload a few times, but nothing major, and this can happen in an open world game of this size.
As far as open world games go, it's not of the level of an RDR2 or H:ZD yet, but it's getting close. If they work on making the side content more engaging in the next title, it could be the perfect open world game.

It is a huge improvement from the past AC game.

I have to update my review, the game overstayed its welcome, beware that it is a never ending game. I actually quit out of boredom (after 80 hours of gameplay and realizing that I wasn´t even close to getting to the end of the story), games need to have a conclusion and this one seems to not understand that. It is like a 1000 page book, that you enjoy for the first 500, slug through the next 300 because you actually want to read the conclusion, but you finally quit because it becomes tedious and repetitive, and you want to eventually read other books in your collection...

The side content is non-existent, literally all you do in this pathetic excuse of a video game is ride your horse for miles upon miles to press a triangle to pick up a wealth or do some stupid and uninspiring world event like talking to someone for 10 seconds and then leaving, most of these activities are also broken or glitched. The worst thing is that you need to grind these events to level up before you can go to a higher level area unless you want to get one-shot by the enemies. Talking about glitches, this game has a plethora of bugs and issues that really affected my experience, from minor visual issues to more severe and game breaking bugs. I admit some of them were very funny to experience like flying enemies or me randomly leaving the earth’s orbit but mostly they were annoying as hell. I played as a male Eivor but for some unknown to me reason everyone referred to me as a she and wanted to bang me, not sure if that’s a glitch or the developers couldn’t be bothered to record a few more lines depending on your gender. The world is pretty empty though gorgeous at times. Enemy AI is pretty much broken and I might even say non-existent, too many times I was fighting with a group of enemies and most of them just stand around doing nothing especially archers that seem to glitch all the time. Raiding is boring as hell as all you do is just find a bunch of chests and press the damn triangle to open them, that’s it, that’s the raid done. I liked the Vikings and all the stuff about Norse mythology and the modern day story-line but everything in this game is either bad or mediocre at best. I honestly don’t know why people are praising this empty buggy game. I’m not looking forward to future Ubisoft games if they will release them in this state. I’d give it a 4/10 but seeing how many fanboys are giving this game a 10/10, I’m giving it a fat 0. I understand that you might enjoy this game but it’s objectively boring and repetitive, and definitely not deserving a 10/10 but I guess the vikings made everyone wet their pants. Pathetic Expand

Из минусов можно отметить сюжет, ну не держит он в тонусе, хотя кто играет в ассасин ради сюжета? Тем не менее мне куда интереснее строить свой город, чем искать свою мать/отца.

even on the harder difficulty i never had a need to use stealth at all for any part of the game, so the game becomes extremely shallow very quickly.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I've never played an Assassins Creed game before, but I opted for this game, since I am a huge fan of Norse mythology and for the most, Vikings. So when I bought this game, I had my expectations. 20-30 minutes into the game, most of them had been crushed.

First of all, playing for more than 5 minutes made me realize that the sound engine in this game is utter trash. For all games I've played, this has to be the worst sound quality and mixing I've ever heard. And no, I didn't have 3D audio on, and my headset is also pretty expensive. The sound quality often just sounded low-res and kind of "away" in a bucket or something. Very frustrating, but didn't stop me from getting the platinum trophy.

Second. I know about the animus and how the series are build up, ish. But for some reason, I bought this hoping and also thinking that no Animus would appear. But of course, it was, and to be honest, it was just not interesting for me. Not from the beginning, during the story and the end of the story. Nothing seemed like it made sense and it just wasn't interesting.

Third, the story in a whole is way too long and most of it seemed unnecessary. You have to make alliances with all these regions, which is cool, but they decided to put in 12 or something. Plus 4 "extra worlds/maps". Long story short, this game is simply needlessly too long and makes it along the way boring. Nevertheless.

Now that it's off my chest, I can focus on what makes it better. Yes, this is a very good Viking game. You have a hometown, where you can kind of build your own town, and from these go be the best Viking. There's raids you can ravage, and exploring you can do. There are so many elements of this game that's actually fun and interesting, but is held back a lot by the whole "Assassins Creed". For me at least.

Again, long story short. This a pretty damn good Viking game, if Viking actually was in focus. But it simply wasn't for me. And that saddens me. It gets a 7/10, since the Viking part of this game is solid. Otherwise, it would lay around 5/10.

The combat lacks any impact, even when playing on a higher difficulty. Eivor is somewhat compelling as a protagonist but in the end they feel very bland and lacking in personality. This point is particularly notable as you spend an incredibly bloated 100 hours with them. Within 100 hours, eivor has less personality than Bayek did in the first section of his game. The bird is pretty cool though I guess. I’m a pretty big AC fan usually, as I really love the historical setting (despite its inaccuracies), but this was well and truly a let down. I hope Ubisoft learn from their mistakes and improve upon the new AC formula. Also the micro-transactions are outrageous, selling reskins of gear that was in odyssey and origins, the price of these reskins? Around $15. If you have fun with this game, that’s great, but as a huge rpg fan I cannot recommend this bloated mess of a game. 4/10, I regret purchasing the game and wish I didn’t complete it. Expand

Once it explodes it takes half of your HP, and then puts a fire effect on you, the fire effect is just straight up terrible, it kills you in about 2 seconds and there is nothing you can do about it, you have to use your rations to survive it. The problem is, that the whole enemy village is burning, so once you use up your rations, you'll probably die by the next stupid explosive vase, or by burning to death trying to climb a building, you know, like Assassin's should. But of course, these aren't Assassin's Creed games anymore, Ubi just uses the name to get more more sales, the games itself have absolutely no connection to the story of Assassin's, besides Eivor having a 'hidden' blade of course, which i have no idea why would Assassin's give the blade to some random viking.
That's about it, i'm incredibly disappointed, considering Assassin's Creed was once one of my favorite game series.

The raids and animus puzzles I liked the most besides the graphics. Yes it's better than Odyssee. I think the developers need to take a pause again and rework the franchise now....it's getting stale again. Was my 8th AC game I think. Expand

after 6 months from release the game is still buggy and faces a lot of frame hiccups on performance mode.
the way the story was told is so bad and boring.
levelling up is grindy for little content.
after 60 hours i finished the game without even realizing it's done because there was no end game credit or compelling ending.

Notable mentions, the Cairn, the Animus Anomaly, and even though it has a lot of map activities, most of them are very repetitive, you will get bored halfway the main campaign, it's like the quests just there for the sake to make the game longer.

The story also pretty weak with a weak MC (who's supposed to be a God), it's like the MC just become important halfway towards the main campaign.

This game also trying a bit hard to copy The Witcher 3, but without a real supernatural aspect.

Male Eivor is a joke of a character, a clown that act not like a Viking but...female Eivor was really insane; you will say "it's the same character only female", nope guys.
The dub and the acting change it all, if you want a strong character trust me, choose female Eivor.
The other characters are...nothing of memorable honestly.
The dream parts are so bad done...it was a way to compete with Santa Monica's GOW but so much worse.
Overall a good game but not worth so much money, if you want to purchase it maybe with discounts

    İyiGame Good Things

    Story (No spoilers)
The story of the game lasts for a minimum of 60 maximum 90 hours according to the gameplay. This is good news for those who pre-order the game like me or buy it shortly after the release, but it contains a handicap that can be liked in general, but it progresses very disconnected from each other, unfortunately. The 20-minute episode in the final of the game did not satisfy me, but this does not show that it is bad, I can say that it is an Assasin's Creed game with a good final.

    Play
Even though it feels very strange after experiencing 100+ hours of power fantasy and origins in Assasin's Creed Odyssey, the gameplay of the game depends on the person's ability to parry and attack at the right time is a concept that I always like and generally the finisher animations repeat themselves after 70 hours of playing. I can also say that it is satisfactory, the feeling of the hit is still weak, but it is stronger than origins and odyssey in general, I can say that I did not experience a certain error problem or animation glitch while playing, so it has a nice gameplay but unfortunately it cannot handle a 70-hour game.
    Graphics
I finished the game on PlayStation 4 and I can say that the water appearance and effects were better compared to the first 2 games of the series, but of course since it is a brand that releases a game every year or 2 years, I did not see a difference, of course, this is my ps4. It may also be due to my playing so I do not go too long here.
    Game's Map
England and Norway are beautifully reflected, but I think it is too colorful for a country that has constant rainfall and sees the sun once a month, or I look at it in detail.

Once again another low point for the series, I hate the departure from the assassins story and gameplay looked like the witcher rather than assassins creed. I just wish for ubisoft to actually put the effort for once and make a good authentic assassins creed game.

After completing the previous AC entry - Odyssey, I was hoping Ubisoft would trim off a lot of the filler content and focus in on what makes an AC game worth playing. Valhalla's map may be slightly smaller than Odyssey's, but Ubisoft still seem intent on stretching their content as thin as it will go. Valhalla doesn't veer from Ubi's open world formula, which involves littering the map with busywork. At least Odyssey's loot was interesting - in Valhalla it's mostly reduced to a ingots, 'supplies' and 'raw materials' - hardly an exciting reward for completing a raid.

Valhalla structures its story into chapters set in various English counties. For me this brings with it an issue with the characters - not only is the main character pretty dull, but the supporting characters are never around long enough to be fleshed out to the point of being interesting or likeable. The story is stretched out over so many hours that it lacks any kind of momentum, but it boils down to this - the good guy Vikings want to take over England because we're told the Saxons are bad. This includes any settlement you can raid, which involves slaughtering hapless guards minding their own business. But it's worth it to collect yet another iron ingot...

The game beings to take an interesting turn by transporting you to the realm of Asgard, although this quickly becomes just another area crammed with icons and pointless collectibles.

The gameplay follows Odyssey with light and heavy attacks, God of War-style abilities with cool-downs mapped to face buttons, and the use of Witcher senses to investigate crime scenes and follow trails etc. Some set pieces and large scale battles can be enjoyable, but really there's no point in taking on the endlessly spawning enemies, and instead you're better off just running to the next objective.

I never thought this would be the case, but I think I enjoyed Odyssey more, as at least it had stunning locations, Greek myths and interesting loot. Valhalla is the last AC I'll buy.

And the amazing gameplay and less gears, unlike the previous 2 Assassin's Creed games. The good thing that made Assassin's Creed Valhalla special than the previous 2 Assassin's Creed games is that Assassin's Creed Valhalla has social stealth. On of the best features that makes you an Assassin. Now I talked about the positive points in the game and now it's time to talk about the negative points. Assassin's Creed Valhalla had glitches in the post launch. I personally had a glitch that I can't get the last mission of the Order of The Ancients, but thankfully they fixed it fast. 98% of the glitches has been fixed and Ubisoft are working on the rest of the glitches and the DLCs. Because this game is broken and boring.

Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla effortlessly plants its banner as the best open world RPG available for the new consoles. This Viking epic flexes its gore-soaked, tattooed muscles when it comes to world-building, and medieval England wows with its enchanting untamed vistas. It’s also portioned out at a steady pace and, if not for the repetitive, limited combat, Valhalla could have ranked even higher among our favourite games in the series.

Is Assassin’s Creed Valhalla the best entry in the series yet? Some would be tempted to say so. While the map size might overwhelm some players, it remains an easy game to mainline with the right navigation mode turned on. In fact, the quick load times help to make this an even easier task than in previous generations. This is an iteration of Assassin’s Creed that has a bit of everything from the previous games, as refined as we have seen to date.
