Terrible game. The gameplay is lackluster. Dark Souls may be the game of the decade but this is a terrible clone. I bought it on sale but regretted already. It will probably sell a lot because of the name Star Wars but it should have been delayed.

A mix of Tarzan and icecapades. I get swinging from an occasional vine in a game but they over use this to death. Also the sliding forces mechanics are irrelevant and overly clunky controls makes it crappy.

This is a much better game than EA have done since having the star wars license does have some rough edges but the story is great and late game will make your hairs stand on end. I wish it didn't finish when it did as would have been amazing ah well just have to wait till the next chapter in this series as it's set up well overall well worth a play

To be short this game is a must-have for all Star Wars fans, but for the other, I would advise watching some reviews since it has its problems.

Fighting 3/4- Good fighting system with a lot of potentials. Nevertheless, it takes a long time before you would feel that you are actually playing for a Jedi and not some dude with a lightsaber( but I think it is only a problem when you play on high difficulty levels)

Story- 2/3 If we talk about the story I will say that there is nothing special( I think if the same level of storytelling will be in the sequel I will give 1/3, but for the first try it plays it role)

Graphics 2/2- same nothing special, but some times we see great backgrounds.

Music 0/1 - For me as a Star Wars fan music plays an imported role in the games especially in a Star Wars game. At the end of the game, o couldn't remember any good soundtrack, and in addition, you barely hear any during the game. The only one I can remember is the one that they usually play in the movies/ games when the main hero is in danger.

This game is exactly what i want in an adventure style game. It perfectly depicts the feeling of being only human, or normal, with the difficulty in enemies. While at the same time produces those triumphant moments we crave when we finally defeat our foes.the world design is fun, interactive, and worth revisiting to chart out all territory. I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

The game doesn't register input from your controller half of the time so combat is basically always with a handicap. One wrong step while in combat (which happens 99% of the time), stagger animation triggers and before it plays out, enemies usually shoot/club you to death. Difficulty in this game is represented by throwing as many enemies at you as possible with a random rocket launcher wielding stormtrooper shooting at you from a distance to top it off. Every enemy is faster, their attacks reach further and they always block everything. Bosses are overpowered and boring AF.
You play as the clunkiest jedi in the universe and it doesn't get any better even after 10 hours of gameplay. And the people who claim it's super easy even on the hardest difficulty either lie or they played it on story mode difficulty.

    Graphics are ok.

I give the game a golden medal for some of the best lightsaber duels ever put in games, Souls-like combat fits here perfectly, and creates a wonderful sense of progression from a weak, pushover padawan into a full-blown Jedi knight who is a force to be reckoned with. The atmosphere of Star Wars with it's sounds and visuals is unmatched. I love this universe. Great game!

The game is fun. It’s hard to not have a blast while you’re slashing through enemies, fighting giant spiders, or performing uncharted-like platforming & puzzle solving. While it’s all generally fun, the game has some issues. The mini-map is horrible, fights feel repetitive, and overall the game feels like a mixture of games I’ve played before, only with the Star Wars universe behind it.

SW:JFO has given me faith again in the franchise. The look and feel places one right there in the universe. The voice acting is not perfect, but is quite good. Also, I say with no shame, I am Team BD-1 (the droid that accompanies our main character)

SW:JFO has given me faith again in the franchise. The look and feel places one right there in the universe. The voice acting is not perfect, but is quite good. Also, I say with no shame, I am Team BD-1 (the droid that accompanies our main character)

I couldn't give the game a 10/10 because there are some puzzles where it is completely impossible to figure out if you're on the right track and often it becomes a matter of luck and not logic that the puzzle is solved.

The controls are fairly comprehensive, but the parrying system is weak and lackluster. There is no sense of weight to the attacks. The best game in recent memory that has a sense of weight and satisfaction to an attack is Batman: Arkham Asylum. For those who've played B:AA, you know exactly what I'm talking about. The attacks in SW:JFO are just too light and feathery and do not match the excellent animation.

Fallen Order is all about the narrative. Discovery and character interaction is king in this game. So if you're looking for non-stop, breakneck action at every turn, this is not the game for you. But if you're looking for a standalone story in the Star Wars universe that tells a tale of a lone Jedi trying to keep the faith, this game and story is for you.

The developer of this game, Respawn, has officially put to rest any doubt from the likes of EA that single player games are dead. Respawn has loudly and proudly affirmed that single player is alive and well by thumping their chests and saying 'Let us show you how it's done!'

Star Wars is back on the menu, boys!

Fluent game play, strong story/characters, amazing visuals (admit it: we've gotten spoiled too much), and especially a very intelligent combination of exploration, puzzle solving, character building and fighting. In short: well-balanced 21th century game ingredients. Further: elegant Star Wars look and feel. I also liked the extras (making off, art design ...) and the music. Well worth the money!

Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order is the best Star Wars video game ever made. Yes, I'm completely serious. Yes, I'm completely serious. Even taking into consideration the 40-years of Star Wars video games we've received, this one stands out as being the absolute best from a gameplay and story telling perspective. Perhaps most impressive is how in the age of Disney-owned Star Wars, Jedi Fallen Order manages to capture that unique magic spark that made most pre-Disney Star Wars fell like, well, Star Wars.

Jedi Fallen Order's gameplay can be best described as being what you'd get if Star Wars, Dark Souls, and Uncharted had a baby; it combines the technical and methodical melee combat of the Souls games with the deep exploration aspect of the uncharted games and wraps them in Star Wars wrapping paper. In this game you will acquire a large amount of jedi skills and techniques to take down an impressive array of foes ranging from your run of the mill stormtroopers to giant boss enemies that practically fill the entire screen. You must carefully time your attacks, parries, and blocks in order to take down all enemies in this game, and failure to do so will likely result in a quick death. When you die in Jedi Fallen Order you are respawned back to a Jedi Meditation circle you last saved at, much like the bonfires in the Souls games. You must then find the enemy that defeated you to regain your experience you were carrying since the last time you used it to level up your the main character, Cal's abilities, again much like using your souls to level up in the Souls games. While making comparison to souls, it should be said that Jedi Fallen Order is a much more forgiving game than any of the From Software Souls games, which might be a good or bad thing depending on your experience with that franchise. As for the Uncharted gameplay elements, you will climb cliff sides, slide down sheets of ice, and wall jump to get to where you need to go throughout the game's various planets and settings. As you gradually learn more abilities via experience and in-game events that tie into the story, you will be able to return to previously unreachable sections of the game in order to collect new items, lightsaber upgrades, force echos, and several other cool collectibles that should satisfy any completionist. The final result of marrying these two gameplay elements together makes for an incredibly fun and addictive experience where you'll constantly want to find out what's on the other end of a massive canyon, or make you think twice about facing off against a particular deadly looking alien in order to explore a certain area.

While the gameplay is very enjoyable, the story and characters is where this game absolutely shines the brightest. Jedi Fallen Order takes place 5-years after the events of Revenge of the Sith where we play as Cal, a former Jedi apprentice who is now hiding out on a scrap planet where remnants of the Clone Wars are literally being broken down in order to fuel the expanding galactic empire. When Cal is exposed as being a former Jedi, he is thrust into a situation where he must find and protect information essential to future of the Jedi Order as him and his companions are chased across the galaxy by the empire and some Inquisitors that seek to get to this information before Cal. Each character in Jedi Fallen Order is very well written and voice acted, making many parts throughout the game very emotional and impactful in their own way. There are so many references to other pieces of Star Wars lore including the films and TV Shows that you will be constantly bombarded by fan service throughout your time with the game.

Visually the game looks gorgeous. The game perfectly captures the look and feel of Star Wars down to a T, with various levels looking downright stunning. Character and enemies look excellent and authentic as well to the Star Wars universe. Main character facial expressions are motion captured to really capture the essence of each respective voice actor that each character is visually based off of as well.

The audio in this game is great as well, borrowing a lot of the soundtrack from the movies, as well as adding some of its own tracks as well. While some of these original or remixed tracks aren't the greatest, all the music does a very good job at complementing everything that is occurring in the game around you. Voice acting is wonderfully delivered and sound effects will sound right at home in a Star Wars property.

Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order is an experience that all Star Wars fans need to play. It's story, characters, and levels make this feel like some long forgotten Star Wars film on the same level as the better films in the franchise. This game is perhaps the best, most genuine Star Wars experience since Revenge of the Sith was released in 2005, which is saying a lot for an original story within the Star Wars universe. Whether you're a diehard Star Wars fan or a casual gamer, this game will satisfy you.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Expand

    Summary: Rogue One with Jedi.

    The Good:

    - interesting characters and a very good story
    - great puzzles
    - good cameos

    The bad:

    - loading times, loading times, still loading times (even after "updates")
    - terrible clunky controls
    - graphics weren't as amazing as all the hype

I am shocked by the many good reviews of this game, especially from publications.

I started playing the game on the second to hardest difficulty and had to lower it after I made it to the end of the second planet. The game puts you in unwinnable situations and I would be ok with this to some point of the resspawn times were not horrendous (on PS4) and take upwards of a minute.

Controls can be clunky and are sometimes unresponsive.

    The negatives of the game:
    - Do you like snowboarding games with poor controls? Then you will like much of the beginning of this game as it has you sliding down areas repeatedly.
    - Characters are few and boring. I think the Nightsister was the only one that had a personality.
    - Story is weak and the parts that are supposed to enact some sort of emotion fall flat. Maybe this is Disney's influence. The ending is interesting but far too little to make up for the rest.
    - "Metroidvania" is not an excuse for a confusing layout.
    - As I said before the controls are clunky and sometimes unresponsive. They released a new patch for this but it has not improved.
    - Lack of attention to detail. For instance when underwater it completely skips an animation when you open a chest. This just shows you how little they cared to polish this game. Graphical bleed through happens constantly.

    Positives:
    - The few boss fights exist are enjoyable.
    - Art design is good.

    CONS
    ---------

    - Gets buggy at moments and frame rates can drop
    - Long load times (but not the worse I've seen)
    - Some parts in the game don't explain where/what exactly you should be doing, so sometimes you can spend a good 5 minutes on something that should only take 5 seconds.
    - Annoying backtracking (worse on harder modes). This also ties into no manual saves at any point, you need a meditation ring to save.
    - Bad, bad, control feel when 'sliding' down obstacles.
    - Bad 'Holomap' layout, the 'Holomap' gets confusing to look at as all of the levels of the map mesh into each other creating a blurry look, although it is authentic looking to the Star Wars aesthetic, it is sometimes confusing to reach your objective.
    - Takes elements from 'Dark souls/Bloodborne/Nioh/Uncharted (I know, I hate to say it, but it's true!). Not to say this is bad! It's just not overly original and doesn't add anything new or innovative to a blockbuster release.

Overall, I thought it was a really good game. Definitely frustrating at moments, yet also rewarding when playing on harder modes. This game has a learning curve for players unfamiliar with the fight mechanics, but delivers a satisfying punch in the end with a little practice/experience with the game. It's also cool that the story is original within the Stars Wars universe, and not a rehash of an older movie/story. There are a lot of worse games out there for 60 bucks, if you're looking for a good Triple A release, I'd check this one out.

I absolutely love this game to bits, it has an amazing story and an amazing group of characters, I’d have to say the best part of the game was at the end and how you have to book it away from Darth Vader as he starts destroying your path. My only real nitpick is how I think there should be more to the maps or more planets period, other than that I think this game is phenomenal, I love how you can also turn your lightsaber from a single bladed to a double bladed later in the game, one other thing I wish they had was the ability to dual wield your blade whenever you want but that’s masking for too much, this game is fine without dual wielding as another combat system. To me this game sits somewhere near God of war and Uncharted 4. The souls-like combat proved to be a challenge quite often (Jedi Master difficulty) and really fun, slicing stormtroopers or killing then with their own blaster bolts. Overall a really pleasant surprise from the worlds worst publisher. this seemed like some lazy ass story telling to me oh and that god damned ending i cant believe people haven't gone ME:3 on this game holy hell.

I've never seen a company so blatantly kill a game series on there own so fast. It was a good starting point to have cal build a new jedi order go through his story and force feed starwars to us. after game 1 jump to game 2 and now you get to create your own character who is now a young padawan in the new Jedi order.

i would have been happy as all hell to be able to vaguely create a journey (thinking something like kotor 1 / 2 space travel / planet adventure.) as this new padawan who finds him/her self as a Jedi.

Controls at times really thru me as well. you get to fight some other jedis and they have jedi attacks and moves and force powers. then heres you as cal who can just basically swing a lightsaber around..

controls are unresponsive at times especially when trying to dodge and jumping. jumping doesn't really matter later after wall running and double jump become a thing.

i noticed attacks missing the enemeys at times as well. lightsaber throw missed alot of the time to the point where i stopped using it. it would go through the enemy and back and do nothing.

I thought it would be your run of the mill action game with uninteresting characters. Well, I was wrong and I am glad I was. First off, actor who plays Cal did amazing and I had my doubts coming into this game after watching his role on Shameless. I like him as an actor but didn't think he could pull of the emotional badass Jedi hero. He pulled this off and more, I did care for the character in the end and would love to see more of him. The combat is awesome and even though there maybe could be a few more combos and what not, I was happy with it. It felt smooth and along side with the force powers you gain, you can pull off some smooth Jedi moves. The traversal and light platforming elements made me feel right at home in this game and I loved traversing throughout an unknown area figuring out where to go. It reminded me of older games where you would get lost in the world and you couldn't just fast travel to the last or next location, you have to coordinate your way throughout the map. The bosses were a ton of fun and I am happy they even included some mini-bosses that were optional to fight. The story was great and felt like it was paced in a great way. The only thing I wish we would have gotten was an arena with a unlimited amount of stormtroopers trying to destroy you. I beat the game and ultimately wanted more from the game and to destroy even more of those stormtroopers. Overall I would give this game a 9/10 for making a well made game with great Star Wars lore. Expand

It’s a pretty good game. It can get boring or repetitive at times, but I still love it. The story is great, and the main menu theme is just so good. I could listen to it for hours. Overall 8/10 game.

Worst fighting ever. Cal is slow, clumsy and just plain unworthy of being called a Jedi. The fighting style is all about defense and finding the key moment when to counter strike. Which is great until you have more than one enemy. He slows and constantly stunned. This game doesn’t leaving me feeling excited or inspired, instead it leaves me exhausted and frustrated.

Maybe you’ll see it differently and enjoy the game rather than getting frustrated over getting killed by lesser foes. This was my experience, and it was not enjoyable.

Challenging fights and awesome suprises, embraced in Jedi lore. Fans of Clone Wars and Rebels will totally love it. Characters are well done all around enjoyable. Well done Respawn! Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is the best Star Wars game I have played in a while. Battlefront II would have been great as well if it hadn't been for the microtransactions.

The Force adds a lot of creative things you can do as you unlock things like Pull, Push, and the double jump. The progression is actually meaningful, and helps you go through the main story, and not only that, it also lets you go back to areas you might not have been able to get to or access, and find new things or maybe a boss you haven't fought yet.
Saber combat itself is also really good. It has more of an emphasis on blocking than dodging, and while that caught me off guard from usual soulslike games, i got used to it.

The story is basic, but it works. You get to know the characters, their motivations, and their place in the universe, and you get to see a really cool thing at the end, as well as witness your own character's growth and survival. The planets you visit are really interesting, especially Dathomir(The hardest planet), though I recommend you only go there when you're ready considering everything there is designed to end you quicker than you can scream.

Some of the puzzles in the world require some quick thinking and big thinking, while not all of them, its still a nice touch, and the puzzles generally hold worthwhile rewards.

The game does suffer from some issues though. The movement is clanky sometimes, and sometimes the enemies or you have pretty janky hitboxes, but overall I didn't struggle, even when I encountered a weird or funny glitch.

I think it's worth a 9. Even if some of its aspects are basic, and it suffers from glitches here and there, it's still one of the smaller amount of triple A games that focus on a singleplayer story without adding all these microtransactions or forced payment for power.

I never thought i'd type this but....good job EA.

Start with musics. Best music for a star wars game! Sound and dialogs are very high level and cinematic. Art graphic is very cool on different planets but suffers from many technical issues and fps drops on base consoles. The game is full of bugs specialy in combat and platforming parts. Story have nothing new and deep but it is star wars not dark souls or witcher. At last gameplay is a combination of sekiro in combat and uncharted + gow3 in platforming parts. Jedi tries to be a good clone of its masters but its. Combat gives you no challenge even in jedi grand master difficulty. Combat and upgrading system is not deep and detailed but acceptable. Boss fights quality is not comparable with sekiro or soulsbornes. All and All star wars jedi is a fun game before you start some serious games. You will enjoy it surely if you don’t enter its world with sekiro or uncharted in your mind!

Way overrated because of Star Wars fans. This was clearly a copy-cat of various other games but of course in an extremely bad quality. This was clearly a fast money grab by capitalizing on an established fandom, do not waste your money on trash like this.

What stops this game from being truly great, is the bugs. It's glitch after glitch here, but the game is fun, and it's playable.

This is the first EA Star Wars game to come out that is truly solid. A big concept it has in it's favor is that there is no wacky monitization scheme implimented in the game. You can tell that this extra planning time got put into developing a game worth playing, or enough so you're willing to overlook the constant glitches. Did I mention the glitches?

If you're a Star Wars fan that enjoys living the power fantasy of being a power sword weilding, space wizard, you're actually in for a treat.

If this was a game that didn't have star wars in the title you wouldn't touch it. It's a glitchy buggy mess and beware some trophies are bugged and won't pop, very disappointing.

If you get over a slower start without powers, we can assure you, that it will only get better and better. An entertaining mix of Uncharted, Tomb Raider and Dark Souls set in the Star Wars universe. You don’t have to worry; the game is worth its full price. [Issue#300]

As someone with limited time to play games, the shame of Fallen Order stems from multiple frustrations. It’s hard to fight and, worse, it’s hard to move. The game’s timing issues distracted me from both the story and the beautifully constructed worlds; I was too focused on simply staying alive. My many (many, many, many) deaths discouraged me from exploring worlds — all of them beautiful — as did the simple fact that traveling by foot (even a Jedi’s Force-enhanced feet) takes forever.

Respawn has shown us, and EA, that single player games are well enough alive and kicking and has set a bright future for the Star Wars franchise of videogames if they keep this up.
