Boring. Intedious, super really horrible the worst game ever I've ever played. The graphic is bad full of bugs. Errors. I was always nervous playing cause are a lot of big fails techniques. Main character is ugly ridiculous. the face is strange he's stupid face. East of time this game I'm not recommend

Really enjoyed playing this game, it has a very nice narrative and a tone to it. I Cal should have a stronger personality however, and I did not find fighting mechanics very strong, at many time you feel underpowered when facing large groups of enemies. Despite, the game is for a great time.

Very good game. Loved the combat and story. Voice acting was great. Enemy variety was okay but redundant at times. Took me about 18-20hrs to complete. Only complaint would be the performance on Ps4 Pro was pretty rough, but otherwise I was very pleased with this game!

The story is solid and the only thing keeping me engaged, although not enough to make this an enjoyable experience. It starts off strong, then loses itself in the monotonous and frustrating game until pretty much racing at break neck speeds at the end. But since this is a game and not a movie, this doesn't come close to making up for the rest of this train wreck.

It starts off strong, then loses itself in the monotonous and frustrating game until pretty much racing at break neck speeds at the end. But since this is a game and not a movie, this doesn't come close to making up for the rest of this train wreck.
The game is generally boring with ridiculously easy obstacle courses, puzzles and upgrades that you're usually given without much ceremony or reason other than now it's time. Then you travel between the same 4 or 5 planets (i was so checked out for most of it, i just finished and don't even remember) retracing your steps to access small new areas with those new abilities. Most of the game just feels like they were to lazy to come up with anything to do, so this was their way of stretching out the time. If you're a completionist like me it works, because it made the game a lot longer than it actually is.
The worst part in all of this is the combat, it's awful. Just frustrating, clunky, kind of boring, and bad. So, so, so bad. The only thing that will stick with me is the annoying asf target lock, and the garbage game camera. There's no feeling of being a jedi, no cool abilities, it feels like they just did the most basic things. When you fight groups you can only focus on one, or not lock on and fight more against the camera than the enemies. But if you lock on you can only attack that enemy, and switching between enemies frequently doesn't work. The blocking of enemies and lack of attack options means that there is no flow of combat, you end up just randomly dodging and jumping around waiting for your openings. Fights against one opponent can be fun, but it's not enough. Especially the issues with the game camera ruin it. It is challenging, but more the challenge for the "git good" gamer culture. With the challenge stemming from awful game mechanics.
The load times are unacceptable, the traversal is slow and has no real flow to it. Tons of graphics glitches or models not loading properly. This is a complete failure of a game.
I love star wars, and this kind of scratched an itch. Like a drug addict that's nearing rock bottom and wondering what I'm doing with my life, and why i keep wasting my time with something i don't enjoy.

A great hommage to star wars with flaws. The atomosphere and the overall gamplay is worthy of carrying the name of the Franchise. Unfortunately, the game has some hideous technical difficulties such as long loading even in the level and the game difficulty is far from being balanced balanced

I liked the diversity of big bosses and also of the mini-bosses on every planet. and the skill tree in this game is great and clear. but the story is not that good, it's ok. this game is one of the best games I have played this year 2020, with great gameplay.

Incredibly game! Beautiful visuals! Fantastic story!!!!
We NEED more Star Wars games just like this.

Could only give 8/10 though, the story wasn't as long as I expected, only around 20ish hours of playtime. Also, a couple of the trophies are bugged, so I would have to restart the whole campaign to just get the trophies.

Good and interesting game and the only reason that it gets a 7/10 is because there is only storymode and I think 60 bucks are a lot for just a story game. I am still waiting for a multiplayer star wars game.

On the one hand it's that kind of Star Wars game I always dreamed about. Only Singleplayer with a from Software-gameplay, a very nice story with great characters. It also has a neat Soundtrack and a great level design.
On the other hand the gameplay isn't that smooth as you expect. Parrying is slightly different than it is in Sekiro (compared with Sekiro because it has many similaritys) . It works great when it comes to block/parry blastershots but parrying monsters didn't worked very well for me. In a 1v1 duel or a boss fight combat is simply awesome! When it comes to a fight with multiple enemys it's just confusing and difficult. Crowd control isn't that good in my opinion. There were also way too much dungeons and climbing passages in the game. They were executed mostly fine but when it comes to Star Wars I prefer fighting!

Things they are absolutely not acceptable:

-loading time. Seriously after dying you have to wait OVER 40 sec to respawn.. After the loading time the game is still loading: textures or enemys for example. On several points i was able to walk through a platform without fighting because the enemys spawned to late. When i realized that i had to wait after a damn long loading time. This kind of stuff totally killed the fun for me. Especially when you play on the hardest step and fight against a boss that "oneshots" you.

    -second point: glitches.
During my playthrough i glitched a bunch of times through the wall and falled "out" of the game that i had to quit and reload the game. I lost a lot of time. I would guess around 1-2 hours of progress. Nearly 5 month after release I can expect a bit more of a game than that.
On some points in the game enemys stuck inside the wall or had no animation. Fortunately it happened not that often.

Still, because these points my rating is going down from 8.5 or 9 to 7 points out of 10.
With this rating the game gets away pretty well. It's kinda sad because the potential is on point the game just got released unfinished in my opinion.

Even some of the year’s most beloved games like “Control” and “The Outer Worlds,” I ended up dropping because they just didn’t hold my interest. Little did I think this would be one of the games that blew me away the most. To put it into perspective, I personally am not a “Star Wars” fan. Nothing against the franchise, I understand its historical impact, but it’s not a series I get all that excited for (and, as goofy as this might sound, the constant toxicity of the “Star Wars” fanbase further discourages me and turns me away from it, no offense, just saying). However, even as a non-fan of the franchise, my love for gaming has put me in a position where I am willing to take chances on games that come from franchises I don’t care too much for if the games looks appealing (prime example, “Dragon Ball FighterZ.” Not a fan of “Dragon Ball,” but that’s one of my favorite fighting games this generation). So when I heard that Respawn Entertainment, who handled the fantastic “Titanfall 2,” was on board for a “Star Wars” game, my curiosity got the best of me. Little did I anticipate enjoying their Jedi adventure as much as I did.
“Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order” has something in it for everyone, regardless of whether or not you’re a fan of the franchise: the prospect of a single player-focused adventure from EA in 2019 already had me excited, and this game lives up to it! The combat in the game feels smooth and controls wonderfully, the innumerable amount of tools at your disposal feel deep, well-balanced and fully-realized, I did initially worry about the balance when I first saw the game, but I think Respawn did a fantastic job with the balance as a whole, and it leads to an adventure that feels pretty great. The maps in the game are also very well-designed, vast and very fleshed out without getting to the point of losing you, and there’s a solid amount of challenge in the game, even if you play on one of the lower difficulties like I did. Luckily, that challenge doesn’t feel like “fake difficulty,” and it puts you to the test very well. Visually, the game is pretty solid, I enjoyed Cameron Monaghan’s performance in the lead role as Cal, and even as someone that doesn’t know much “Star Wars,” I do think the writing in the game is pretty good, too. The story feels epic, the characters are extremely memorable, and as serious as the story can get, I do like some of the moments where it slows down and feels a bit light (special shoutout to Cal’s relationship with his droid buddy BD-1, I thought there were some moments between those two that were honestly adorable and extremely charming).
In all honesty, this game came very close to being 10 out of 10 worthy. The only thing that holds it back from that bar for me is the graphical bugs and all-around issues with performance/frame rates/optimization. While some of the graphical mishaps were kind of minor, somewhat laughable moments that didn’t impact the game too heavily, the game as a whole does suffer from numerous dips in performance and frame rate that often make me wonder if the game got rushed out the door at all. Even months after its release, the game has several moments of chugging that tend to distract from the overall experience, and while they aren’t the worst thing in the world, those minor moments do tend to add up a bit.
Regardless, “Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order” is probably one of the best “Star Wars” games that we’ve gotten in a very long time, and with the recent struggles that EA has had with the license, it’s nice that Respawn Entertainment was able to swoop in, pick up the pieces, and craft something genuinely special with the license. While EA has largely struggled as of late, “Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order” is a huge diamond in the rough for the company, and it lays a good groundwork for potential future installments. I personally can’t wait to see what Respawn has up their sleeves for their next “Star Wars” adventure.
Final rating: 9 out of 10 “Awesome”

Who will win? One trained Jedi with a light saber and a wide variety of Force powers or four stormy bois with electric purple potato peelers?

Playing Fallen Order after Sekiro or Bloodborne is like trying to drive an 18-wheeler after driving a high-performance sports car. Combat in Souls-like games need tight, precise, responsive combat, but in Jedi Fallen Order, it's slow and sluggish. Every action has a delay before you see it on screen and then a cooldown before you can make another action. While most Souls-like games treat blocking and parrying as variations of the same action, they feel like separate prompts in Fallen Order. A block is only 100% successful before an enemy attack; a block during an enemy attack but before the parry window most likely leads to taking damage. You cannot interrupt your own actions to block, parry, or dodge and there are no invulnerability windows (as far as I'm aware). This leaves you vulnerable to multiple enemies. It also leaves you vulnerable if you accidentally interact with environmental objects. You are easily staggered while enemies are only staggered when their stamina is depleted and only for one hit. This means a missed block, parry, or dodge of the first hit of a combo will likely kill you. Remember that every action has both a delay and an internal cooldown! Combined, this means four stormtroopers with the aforementioned purple potato peelers are frequently more dangerous than boss fights. There are crowd control Force powers late in the skill tree, but, again, THERE ARE DELAYS AND COOLDOWNS WITH EVERY ACTION. Trying to Force slow or push a group of stormtroopers leaves you wide open to attack -- again -- meaning crowd control Force powers are easy to interrupt and they frequently don't work even if you complete the action.

Overall game design feels terrible. Souls-like games expect you to die a lot, so dying should be part of the experience, but . . . Loading screens are interminable. There's no fast travel and a lot of backtracking. Meanwhile many areas only funnel one way and don't allow backtracking. This means if you go the wrong way, you will be going the wrong way for a long time. And there are many long, narrow, claustrophobic, non-interactive corridors which take forever to traverse. All of which make dying a chore rather than a part of the experience. And you can't reset your skill tree. Which means if you've taken no crowd control skills and end up in an arena with waves of multiple enemies . . . Well, you're SOL.

Also, platforming with the frequency of Fallen Order doesn't mix with the combat-focus of Souls-likes. It feels like I'm playing two separate games awkwardly smushed together, and neither one feels particularly fun.

The story seemed great from what I'd gotten through (Dathomir) before giving up, and the graphics are mostly great although occasionally muddy. The voice acting seems top notch, save the guy playing Cal Kestis who sounds like he's reading off of cue cards for a good chunk of the game. The actors who play the Second Sister and Cere are particularly good. Level design and enemy design are mostly repetitive and uninspiring. Character design was also fantastic, but Cal's Jedi master looked like a cartoon character out of The Clone Wars, which was a puzzling decision. There were some inventive moments that blew my mind, but they were too infrequent.

You cannot make a Souls-like game with combat this clunky and imprecise. One of the most disappointing games I've played, especially considering the overall favorable reviews.

The combat is probably the best part of the game because depending on the difficulty will have a nice challenge. The boss fights start to become repetitive after a while and start to throw multiple bosses already beaten together to make it more challenging.

All in all the game is okay but after a couple hours you will experience everything the game has to offer and the game will start to feel like a drag rather than a gripping game play experience.

I would wait for this title go on sale or pass all together on this one.

I really, really, REALLY, wanted to like this game. I enjoyed "The Force Unleashed" (and liked "TFU2 even more). The gameplay videos I'd seen prior to release made me think that this was going to be similar to those games, or that this was a Star Wars game that was going to do for the genre what "Arkham Asylum" did for Batman.

    Unfortunately, no.

I started this game shortly after Christmas, putting the setting on "Jedi Master" since it said to choose the setting if you were familiar with melee games. That checked the box for me, being proficient at Assassin's Creed, Batman: Arkham, Uncharted, and even Tomb Raider. Nope.

Roughly 1/3 - 1/2 of the way through the game, many walkthrough videos viewed for boss fights, etc, I ratcheted it down to "Jedi Knight" since I wasn't getting anywhere in the arena fight. Then, I had to yield to the final boss and take it down to Story Mode after not getting close to victory in 20+ attempts. Fortunately, there are no trophies for difficulty completion.

Graphics are nothing earth shattering, MoCap animation is fine. Music is better than average as it does a worthy job of setting the mood no matter what planet you're exploring. Jerome from "Gotham" does well as the lead voice actor, Cal, and the puzzles aren't mind-bendingly difficult, though some take a bit of time/trial and error.

My praise pretty much ends here.

"Failure is part of the journey," says Cere, one of your companions. Ironic understatement. The people who will do well in this game are those who play games by studying the animatronics and the code underlying the characters on the screen to get an edge. I don't/can't/won't do that. If you're like me, and I suspect most gamers are, you're facing enemies like they're flesh-and-blood.

Anyway, survival skill 1: Learn to love the "Lock." I never do this in other games, but this is a must during boss fights, and could be helpful for melees against scrubs. The camera has a terrible knack of turning AWAY from your target(s) while you try to position yourself and then by the time you find the opponents again, you've lost half your health.

Survival Skill 2: Try to figure out the "parry" function. Yeah, this isn't a skill so much as a "hope." If you hold the parry, your opponent almost 100% of the time goes into their "unblockable/red" attack. If you try to time it, the game decides it's wrong and you get hit anyway. If you mash it, it's some of "A," some of "B." With a lack of telegraphing from most opponents, boss or otherwise, calling it difficult is kind.

Survival Skill 3: get used to the healing mechanic being useless in the heat of battle. if you cannot gain separation, you will not be able to heal.

    Other significant flaws include:

    a) Swinging and hitting nothing. Whoever designed the "hit boxes" on the opponents should not be welcomed back to any sequel. You've got a vulnerable enemy one second, so you press your advantage...and swing your saber around and don't hit anything.

    b) (slightly related) - Overly complicated/clunky fight controls. I don't know what else to say except that a lot of times you feel like you're guessing (refer to survival skill 2). With no in-game training module (like Force Awakens), there's really no opportunity to learn how to use the new skills you acquire.

    c) Failing to jump/steer multiple times on the "slalom" runs. At least you don't DIE every time you fall - it just takes a chunk of your life and then you restart, but there are times when you think, "Ok, I jumped too early there, I'll just wait an extra half-second" then you wait a bit the next time, and Cal doesn't jump at all. Then his just flat-out misses the next platform for no reason at all.

    d) Painfully-long respawn time. I reckon this is related to the mechanic that every time you rest, all enemies come back, but that's gotta be fixed for any future endeavors.

In sum, the story is the ONLY thing that kept me playing this game (though I took a month break or so). It's good Star Wars lore, and the Imperial Walker mission on Kashyyyk is probably the high point of this game.

I hope that this game in the annals of video game development becomes what the first Assassin's Creed game was to what followed: They fixed the control and load issues while maintaining the quality of the story.

"Persistence reveals the path," says Cal's master Jaro Tapal says.

"No," I reply. "Not in this game."

I was really looking forward to this game knowing it was effectively a mixture of some of my favourite games and genres, and of course, this was another Platinum trophy pursuit for me.

Performance on base PS4 highlighted some fps slow down on occasion. I'll put this down to the Unreal 4 engine, and lack of optimisation. That being said, it wasn't terrible, just noticeable on occasion.

Performance on base PS4 highlighted some fps slow down on occasion. I'll put this down to the Unreal 4 engine, and lack of optimisation. That being said, it wasn't terrible, just noticeable on occasion. It's clearly a demanding game for the ageing console.

Optimisation aside, if you're a fan of Uncharted and basic combat, and single player story then I can't see who wouldn't like this, unless you're bored of those games. The graphics are mainly excellent, with the strange exception of some of the characters which oddly seem less polished than the environments, enemies, and Kal animations.

As the dev's themselves have said, the game is Metroidvania inspired. Meaning you return to areas a few times to finish story, complete challenges or collectibles which become possible based on new force skills you pick up during the story. The game is all about exploring as much as the story. So if you're a gamer who likes to explore and 100% areas, and so forth, this game is a good time.

The story was enjoyable, and I think the game deserves to be finished which for me means returning to areas to retrieve those collectibles, and finish off side bosses. Length-wise including 100% this was 25 to 30 hours overall. I have dropped a point owing to optimisation concerns on the base PS4, though I've heard the game is sub-optimal on other platforms inc PC as well.

A lot of people haled this as a good souls like game. In my experience, anything compared to dark souls, that is not from software, falls way short. And that is no different with this game. Attacks are poorly choreographed. enemies are too large in number for most encounters. (Played the last level on story mode because I just wasnt having enough fun to accept the challenge) The god forsaken uncharted pathfinding is abysmal. And navigating the map is a nightmare headache. The story ends poorly. But at least Vader is a bad ass.

I did enjoy seeing a mixture of lovable prequel and original trilogy assets. If it was more fun to play, I think it would have been an amazing game. Hopefully the gameplay feels better next time. But theyll probably have to sell that one to me with a console also.

Whenever you have to swing from a vine it feels weird and hard to line up. Oh are we making vine swinging "more realistic" now? If I want realism I will go outside. The combat always feels clunky. Even with a database of how to beat everything after you've beaten it once you will still find yourself not able to smoothly crush your foes even when achievement hunting at the end. All in all this could have been a stellar game injecting life into the declining IP that is Star Wars. And it has some shining great moments. However the combat is just perfect, the skill tree is also simple and satisfying. There is also customization for your characters and ship which is neat, apparently there is a lot of bugs in this game, but in my 15+ hours of playtrough there was just 5-6 bugs, so it might be reasonable to at least mention it. However none of the gear you find do anything for you as its only cosmetics. Some of the problems this game does have preventing me from giving it a higher score is that it is rather buggy at times and sometimes has frame rate drops. There is also no fast travel which can make running back to your ship rather tedious when you are on some of the bigger planets. One of my personal favorite features is the use of a 3d mapping system that makes finding secret areas and your way around much easier, even though most people have a problem with the map I found it refreshing. The game also has no mini map so you will be opening your map frequently until you learn each planet and some can be very confusing. The characters are very well done and the voice acting couldn't have been more perfect. If you enjoy Star Wars then do your self a favor and try this game. You wont regret it. Expand

    Cons:
    * It's glitchy af. Once the game even crashed my PlayStation (it was the first crash of the console in its life :). I fell through polygons. The levels loaded w/o some objects rendered. When using an elevator the game got frozen when I was getting out. Oh my, it sucks.
    * The loading times are obnoxious. Each respawn takes eternity. And this game tried to be more Dark Souls like. But after each death you need to wait at least 30 seconds for the level to reload. Even it's the same small arena where you've been fighting a boss a second ago. In the final chapter you need to wait a respawn time even if you fall from a cliff. I would never recommend to buy this game for this reason alone.
    * The platforming sections are a torture. Every minor mistake leads to fall and death.

There are so many edges and cliffs and rock and cracks that doesn't work.

The combat doesn't have the "honesty" of Dark souls, in the sense that you can't really dodge and block. Studying your enemy pattern isn't very gratifying as their moves are random, stupid and much faster than your own attacks. It's pretty much just a silly button with low hp smasher until you get stronger.

The story doesn't make much sense neither.

The enemy design is very weird. Fighting giant birds hasn't much to do with Star Wars.

The game has a few nice flashes, but don't touch this unless you're a heavy gamer and already played the better games it draws from without taking any risks: Horizon, Dark Souls trilogy, Seikiro, God of war, Uncharted and so on.

Every time you die (which happens quite often on a more difficult level), you are placed back to the last point. However, this is often a point that you have already reached 20 minutes ago. Result: You have to walk the entire route again including defeating your enemies for a second time (or more). This is badly worked out by Respawn and it takes the fun away pretty quickly.

My sense of "triumph" when overcoming hard challenges in games is completely dwarfed by my sense of "what the hell am I doing with my life right now" when dying in aforementioned games 50 times in a row.

Beyond that it's a pretty good game, although having a 3D platformer with free camera controls definitely can lead to frustration. The free camera also makes it more difficult to establish points of reference, which can be a problem in long maps that look exactly the same everywhere and force you to traverse the entire thing over and over. Still a great game made by talented people imo.

An enjoyable, well executed if a little short entry into the Star Wars video game library. Brings nothing terribly new to the table but borrows heavily from tried and tested action / adventure games in a nice galactic ensemble.

Lack of tight controls on the platforming and tacked on back tracking to the ship to add game length really drag down what otherwise is a good single player Star Wars game. Some changes would have made it much more enjoyable

Man have I been waiting for a good single player Star Wars game for awhile. It seemed like a decade... well... because it was. The last one was The Force Unleashed in the 00's and it took EA, like, 7 years to deliver since getting the Star Wars IP. The problem I have is, why would they pick such a niche of a genre like Dark Souls to make a SW clone? I have no problem with the TYPE ofMan have I been waiting for a good single player Star Wars game for awhile. It seemed like a decade... well... because it was. The last one was The Force Unleashed in the 00's and it took EA, like, 7 years to deliver since getting the Star Wars IP. The problem I have is, why would they pick such a niche of a genre like Dark Souls to make a SW clone? I have no problem with the TYPE of 3rd person combat gameplay. I loved the new God of War, Spider-man and slews of others which is similar combat style. But what makes Dark Souls and SWJ:FA so different are there are no notifications of incoming attacks and it you have to be very good at reading the animations of enemies to predict attacks. I tested this with just stomtroopers firing at me from a distance. Seems like you would have plenty of time to hit that block to reflect the blast bolt back at the enemy.. but if you hit the block AFTER the blaster is fired there's a chance you will get hit. So you have to hit block even before the troop fires because your Jedi even has a wind up animation just to flick his wrist and deflect a blaster bolt. Yeah, stormtroopers have a rhythm and pattern to their fire, but it seems to me that combat is needlessly tedious and difficult. And that seems weird for an IP that so universally loved like Star Wars (esp in the gaming market) that they chose this type of difficult combat.
Was this because the levels are smaller than most games and they are trying to stretch out the game play? Maybe yes, mayhaps no. Though some levels aren't necessarily big they are stretched out, from what would be pretty linear, to be enter-twined pretzel-like levels that get very disorienting. That because they opted for no fast-travel, so they had to tie these long pretzel levels together somehow with shortcuts like "Express" elevators or sealed doors. And then they need to respawn baddies after death to make that progress even more cumbersome. All of that would be forgiven if the combat itself wasn't so drawn out and difficult.
The combat skill tree is fun, however. And the increase in skills make you feel like you are gaining in power and abilities without bordering on the ridiculous like The Force Unleashed did. I could see this Jedi kid fighting and learning on his own during the Dark Times, but even possibly not surviving in the long run. And that's good game design and even good writing because the Savior of the Jedi, Luke Skywalker, is supposed to be the one (but not the Chosen One) coming along in a few years to be the New Hope the galaxy needs. So I like that they kept this characters power in check. And the amazing ending boss battle proves solidifies that point.
I also love, love, love the amount of lore added to the Star Wars universe, because that's what every book, comic, video game, movie and show should do: build on the universe, honoring and complementing what came before... without destroying it. (I'm looking at you Sequel Trilogy)
The holocron codices in the game are just a joy to read and delve further into that galaxy far far away.
Other extras are pretty useless however. There are hidden secret littering the map but none of them did anything more me. They came in the form of reskins for your ship, droid, lightsaber and outfit with zero bonuses. In fact I couldn't even really call them re-skins, because don't reskins actually remesh the 3D model of the character? These were all new paint jobs with no changes to the 3D wire meshes except for the lightsaber which is hardly noticed when being swung around anyways. So I found that kind of lazy near the end. Especially when I was desperately looking for different lightsaber blade colors or styles and we just handed to me at one point in the story.
Though I'm glad EA is finally making something other than mobile games and multiplayer shooters, I'd appreciate if the next single player experience is toned down in difficulty for the masses... and me... because apparently I just ain't no good at this Dark Souls combat and that's why I never bought a Dark Souls game.

The first and most annoying of all of them is that enemies reappear when you die or recover health, forcing you to fight the same enemies again and again. Another annoying problem is that progress cannot be saved at any time, but only on specific places (which are not that common). I mean... really? I thought that was something of the games of nineties, but in 2020 that decision seems stupid at most. Finally, the game is too hard, and despite you can lower the difficulty level, I believe it is not well balanced and any difficulty level other than the easiest is too hard, making it less enjoyable. Ah, I almost forget also that you can only recover health on the save points, which makes the lack of save points even more annoying. On top of that, there are some silly game mechanics that do not make any sense, like all the gliding through slopes like if main character, Cal, were surfing on his bare feet or forcing the character to revisit those huge maps by placing objectives in opposite corners of each map. Leaving all this problems behind, the story is nice and it is the Star Wars world, so you could kind of pardon some of the issues but they are too big. Expand

Game is cool, but where should I go ?
The game misses the Indicator Bar, so you don't know where to go, every games has it, but this game misses it, you need to go into the menu, and then check the point where you have to go, but in different levels, with the indicator map would be an enjoyable game, otherwise I didn't finish it.

    - combat can be hard at first but this makes it more rewarding overall
    - some more time with the supporting characters would have benefitted the story massively

All in all, a great solid game, I think due to EA (the publisher) being so money hungry and only wanting to support "games as a service" and online games, I do not think EA have supported this game properly. If EA had invested more time and money into this game it would have been a console generation great. For me, still the best Star Wars game ever made.

Speaking about the flaws, the biggest one on my list is navigation. The game has a metroidvania structure, so you often come back to levels you've previously visited, and it's a drag because of lack of any sort of fast travel. Respawn could've at least added the ability to fast travel back to the ship, let alone between meditation points. As some levels are quite intricate and large (notably planet Zeffo), it's often frustratingly difficult to figure out where to go next, especially if you're off-mission and just trying to collect some loot chest you missed before. The game really lacks some sort of a guiding line akin to Dead Space games.
My other, more minor, gripes would be some bland cliche moments in the story (repetition of morals like "failure is part of the way, you have to keep trying" is a bore), some technical issues on the base PS4 and the relative clunkiness of the main character, which results in some annoying moments when you are pitted against a large number of opponents. Also, once the main story is beaten, you have little left to do other than going for collectibles, while the main combat mechanics beg for an arena mode.

Still, the overall story is satisfying, the characters are likeable, and Respawn did a good job of intertwining this game with pretty much all the Star Wars canon - Fallen order has an abundance of welcome references to both Lucas' trilogies, spin-offs like the cartoons and Rogue One and even the sequels with one icy planet in particular that stands out. The lightsaber combat has some depth to it, linear Uncharted-style setpieces are fun and accelerate the pacing when it starts to drop, and the Soulslike mechanics are mostly serviceable, although it's kind of weird to see enemies respawn anytime you replenish health, and it's presented just as a game mechanic, without any story explanation. Music deserves an honorable mention - I caught goosebumps almost every time I heard the main menu theme.

Maybe it's because Jedi Fallen order is the first proper single player Star Wars game in like a decade, but it managed to bring back hope in me for the franchise. Looking forward to the inevitable sequel.

It could have been a really nice game but terrible controls during agility parts (jumps etc) were just killing it. I have not played a game of this type that would be so terrible with executing acrobatics. It is well overrated, some levels are nice but half of them is totally repetitive. Main character is not interesting, I think I hate that guy. I really don't care about any loot. there is no use for anything you find (yeah you can find table with upgrade, but not enough). Maybe there is one connection to uncharted. Uncharted 1 - You do multiplatforming, then some enemies, then some puzzle -> repeat. But they forgot the atmosphere, better character and better story.

I play this on PS4 pro and even if i have performance mode, I get lags, freezes, loadings.

My recommendation is to not to buy this game, and if someone gives you the opportunity to borrow this game, say no thanks.

As someone with limited time to play games, the shame of Fallen Order stems from multiple frustrations. It’s hard to fight and, worse, it’s hard to move. The game’s timing issues distracted me from both the story and the beautifully constructed worlds; I was too focused on simply staying alive. My many (many, many, many) deaths discouraged me from exploring worlds — all of them beautiful — as did the simple fact that traveling by foot (even a Jedi’s Force-enhanced feet) takes forever.
