    £49.99 for the base game is already expensive for a PC game in my opinion, but the fact that it is merely a shell for paid DLC is disgusting. £95 for a game? **** off.

    This game is nothing like the Battlefront of old. It is Battlefield with Star Wars, but it doesn't even do a good job of being a Battlefield clone. The offline is a joke (2 player splitscreen over two pretty easy and boring game modes). The online customization is limited compared to other online FPS, customizing your character consists of changing a hairstyle or skin color, and there isThis game is nothing like the Battlefront of old. It is Battlefield with Star Wars, but it doesn't even do a good job of being a Battlefield clone. The offline is a joke (2 player splitscreen over two pretty easy and boring game modes). The online customization is limited compared to other online FPS, customizing your character consists of changing a hairstyle or skin color, and there is no gun customization. There are only a few maps, and they are mostly pretty dull and uninspired. I don't know why they cut the prequels out of this game, as that removes almost all of the fun lightsaber-wielding heroes (not that it matters, they did away with assault) and many of my favorite locations. Speaking of heroes, there are only 6, including Leia (over Chewbacca and Yoda) and their combat is 3 abilities that are not fun to use (I did enjoy lightsaber throw) and have long cooldowns. Battles feel small and characters die too fast. There are only a few fun game modes online, and those get boring.

    They turned this game into an online FPS. However, it is greatly outclassed in fun and amount of content by most competitors. If you really want to try it out, rent it from Redbox or Gamefly first. This game was clearly rushed to be released before the movie to increase sales.    … Expand

    This is not starwars, is star BATTLEFIELD version DLC, as a fan of the Star Wars universe I feel cheated, a game that costs about 70 € and with a contended insulting and most importantly no story mode is for EA to rethink follow industry because players will not buy such rubbish.

    There are only 4, count 'em, FOUR multiplayer maps on the disc. There are about eight or so variations on these maps, but they are just DIFFERENT PARTS of the 4 larger maps. $60    The biggest flaw about this game isn't that it's nothing like Battlefront 1 or 2, nor is it the overpriced DLC.     My rating of 0 is based entirely on the fact that this game is called "Battlefront".
    As a Battlefront game, it can not compete with Star Wars Battlefront 1 ( SWBF1) and Star Wars Battlefront 2 ( SWBF2).
    It has - no Prequel Era Content - no Galactic Conquest - no Campaign - no server Browser - no VOIP - no Private Servers - no support for clan matches - no instant action ( online    My rating of 0 is based entirely on the fact that this game is called "Battlefront".
    As a Battlefront game, it can not compete with Star Wars Battlefront 1 ( SWBF1) and Star Wars Battlefront 2 ( SWBF2).
    It has
    - no Prequel Era Content
    - no Galactic Conquest
    - no Campaign
    - no server Browser
    - no VOIP
    - no Private Servers
    - no support for clan matches
    - no instant action ( online mods cannot be played offline with bots, you just have missions which gets boring extremely fast )
    - just 4 planets at launch compared to 18 ( + 6 space maps ) in SWBF2
    - max. player count of 40 players ( compared to 64 on SWBF2 PC TEN years ago
    - Cargo ( CTF ) is just 6 vs 6 players ( compared to 12 vs 12 on SWBF2 on PS2! )
    - No dodge roll ( every Battlefront veteran knows that was a core game mechanic )
    - 6 heroes compared to about 18 in SWBF2
    - AT-AT on rails
    - Tow-Cable shot doesn't have to be aimed, it's just pressing two buttons
    - Snowspeeder circling the AT-AT is on rails and you play a mini-game instead of flying it yourself
    - Infinite Grenades ( the game is an explosion spamfest )
    - Infinite ammo
    - Vehicle lock-on like there's no tomorrow
    - Infantry lock-on
    - Literally no skill gap

    I could go on but you see where I'm going with this.
    It utterly disappoints as a Battlefront game.
    Especially compared to what Free Radical had envisioned for the franchise.

    The game's graphics and sounds are amazing but they won't keep players interested for long.
    EA will try to keep this game alive through DLCs.

    Battlefront veterans have been waiting 7+ years on a sequel to the franchise.
    Then we get this.

    So for a Battlefront game I can only give this game 0/10 points.

    As a shooter it's slightly better, but still far from being worth the 120 bucks for the full game.
    Especially compared to games like Battlefield or Counter Strike.

    If you have a lot of money to spare, don't care about the degradation of the gaming industry if you support and buy this game, only play 1-2 hours in two weeks, then buying it might be an option.

    For everyone else I recommend avoiding this game either until the price has dropped immensely, or not buying it at all.

    I'm a huge Star Wars fan myself, you can tell that from my name but...
    I will do what I must....

    4 Maps, 11 weapons. Game modes that are all have the same mechanics. No progression path apart from XP rank levelling.

    They have definitely split the game in two so you have to pay double to get the rest of the content which is only days away.

    I have never played a game lacking so much from such a big developer.

This game is getting returned ASAP. This whole idea of holding back content and/or releasing un-finished games is ridiculous. These games already cost $60 and paying more $$$ to get the rest of the game is a rip-off. Oh yeah, the vehicles controls are awful too! I love Star Wars and could play a mediocre game just because of the genre. That should say how bad this game is right there. I have never written a review before this either, but I felt I had to to keep people from wasting their money.… Expand

    The bottom line is the game is fun for 4 hours MAX. You hover over a magical token and then get transported to a whole other location inside the vehicle matching the token. Each vehicle can be destroyed in short of 5 hits (unless your in an aircraft then its two) This game ignores balancing weapons. A pistol can kill you in o shots in which a long range rifle takes several shots to accomplish. There is no story mode just a confusing battle of 40 players. No strategy involved just run up to a enemy and start tossing grenades. The number one thing that makes me uppset is there is no scaling system, no good players fight good players it is just a random slotted game to where new players could be pitted against seemingly maxed level players who just dominate. I have been on boh sides of that were the score can be 15-100 or 100-45. The re spawn system, is utter crap you spawn behind the enemy lines and flank the entire team adding the factor that your allies can spawn on you (which is bs) they erased the Control point spawns and choosing what CP you wish to spawn at. The terrain is difficult to tread over as many points in the game take several tries to jump over a simple log. When throwing any type of grenade if you are killed your grenade ceases to exist. It should at lease drop to the ground but if killed the game doesn't registering even thrown it. You can unlock every weapon in a span of one week and thats for an average gamer. There is no extended content just multiplayer scenarios that were thrown into the mix. I gave this game a 0 on the rating yes this game is fun (for about 4 hours) the graphics are amazing and the infantry controls are pleasing to play but it appalled me of how they created a bull S&it game and tried to cover it up with good graphics a amazing marketing promotion. The man who was in charge of there marketing division should get a promotion because with out him many people would not have even bought this game in the first place. I have so SO much more to talk about but this just gets me angrier and angrier thinking about it. My copy goes back today.… Expand

    The different guns are pointless, aiming down the sights is pointless, no depth, gets boring fast. definitely not worth 60 bucks. A real shame because i really wanted to like this.

    Despite tons of ideas and suggestions from Gamers, despite their past failures with SimCity, Mass Effect 3, and other titles. And despite the fact that they won "worst company of the year" 2 times in a row and are the only company in the history of the world to achieve that; they still proceeded to ignore the consumers and rush Battlefront out the    Well, EA has managed to do it again.

And despite the fact that they won "worst company of the year" 2 times in a row and are the only company in the history of the world to achieve that; they still proceeded to ignore the consumers and rush Battlefront out the door with little to no substance in the hopes of capitalizing on the release of the movie. Astounding. Simply astounding.

    I think the most interesting thing about EA "Wanna-be" Battlefront is just how much MORE content the old Battlefront games had than this new one does, and that was 10 years ago back in 2005....

    Let's compare shall we? What does Star wars Battlefront 2 from 2005 have that EA "Wanna-be" battlefront doesn't?

    *a campaign
    *command posts
    *reinforcement counts
    *balanced gameplay
    *good spawns
    *space combat
    *a nice ranking system (for 2005, but yet STILL better than this one's ranking system. How did that happen?)
    *Good light saber combat
    *Better ground vehicles
    *galactic conquest
    *32vs32
    *good squad combat

    And plenty more. For ANYONE even CONSIDERING handing over their hard earned money for this half-assed game that looks and sounds good and that's about it; might I suggest that you head over to steam, throw down $10 for Battlefront 2, and play that instead.

    I am not lying or exaggerating when I say that EA "Wanna-be" Battlefront will give you less satisfying playtime than Battlefront 2, a game that will only cost you $10 and was made a little over a decade ago.

    P.S Star Wars Battlefront 1&2 was developed by Pandemic studios. In 2009, EA shut them down. So yeah, there's that too.    … Expand

    The graphics are amazing and for me that was were amazing ended. The guns are boring at best, the multiplayer matches are very unbalanced, only a few maps to play and after 1 night of playing this I already started to get bored.

    This game bites! I ordered it with a really nice PS4 with Darth Vader on the case. The game has ruined the whole experience. Star Wars is about adventure and fantasy, not about shooting up the whole damn galaxy. There is nothing scientific about shooting everything that moves. The game designers would be wise to get another job, because they suck at this, and really need to do somethingThis game bites! I ordered it with a really nice PS4 with Darth Vader on the case.     This game was not ready to be released . Amazing graphics, but it just it, nothing more. DICE disappointed and desrespected all the star wars fans. We need more than beauty to have a great game. Few game modes, poor customization, flight controls sucks. We have no story mode and space battle mode. If you don't buy all the DLC's you won't get the entire game.

    This game lost all Star Wars stuff like the old Star Wars games had. They copy paste the engine and whole game and made some Gamemode changed and model and skin and the Skybox that's all in Battlefront 2 we could do more things.

    Searching, waiting, empty servers or servers don't fill up and player bug out. Battlefront on PC desperately needs a server selection like battlefield for two reasons, population and ping selection. If you did not buy this game yet, rethink. Everyone is a generic soldier with limited customization. Gone are the classes, and everyone has a small pool of weapons to choose from.     Unlike battlefield, there is no gun customization and there is only a handful of guns to actually choose from. On top of that, most guns are ecactly the same with a few minor    I made the mistake of buying this game without looking at the reviews.     Unlike battlefield, there is no gun customization and there is only a handful of guns to actually choose from. On top of that, most guns are ecactly the same with a few minor differences. Almost all of them are automatic firing weapons. None of them are semi-auto and there are two that are burst fire. The only variations is the fire rate and damage.

    You cannot put scopes on your weapon or change anything else on your weapon. The incredibly low level of customization ruined this game for me. I want my money back.    … Expand

They used the stuff of Battlefront 1 and 2 that sucked and no real fan did play anyways (huge maps, vehicles and heroes), while providing no small scale ctf/deathmatch with good and diverse balancing.     I love nothing more than waiting in the lobby for 20-40 mins its a great experience... Hacks also don't spoil the game especially as I've played about 30 hours with only about 5 in actual game play. If you enjoy uninstalling games, buy this.

You only get a packet of Ketchup and a leaf of lettuce. Shame on EA for selling this crap. You feel like a plastic bag used for target practice.

    They removed Space Battles because why not, and made it become part of the regular battles. Dumb move. The maps are too big for land troops to get anywhere, and because of ridiculous logic, you get shot with a pistol across the map. But they are also too small for ships. You can't go 8 seconds in one direction before you are out of bounds. And the controls....OH MY LORD THE CONTROLS. You can't control them for piss, and if an enemy comes up behind you, you're done. You can't retaliate. If they get behind you, the controls do not allow you to even attempt to swing around and retaliate.

    The "game" has nothing there. There is nothing but a few modes, "which arent that great", and thats it. No story, no campaign, no singleplayer, and the price for this, plus dlc is insane. I can't believe they thought releasing this piece of garbage was alright.    … Expand

Calling the season pass a "season pass" and saying it will come out soon is misleading and saying that the game is "battlefront" is misleading. The game mechanics are ridiculous too, ex.. when your in 3rd person mode you'll find yourself crouched next to a wall and will hit the wall when shooting instead of it shooting from your Reticle, spending 2 minutes trying to find "the right angled slope" to put a turret down when there's no indicator, trying to walk up a slope and being unable to and then walking up the same angled slope next to it... etc etc 3 pages later. I actually take the time and effort to see if something is an EA product now because it feels so much like a scam. The graphics are great and it has 2 hours of game play but the fact that they mislead so much using the game name "battlefront" and have no elements of it in the game, not even conquest gives this rating an auto 0. :(… Expand

Oh sure, Palpatine can heal other Villains...... but only *30* Health while Leia heals herself and heroes to *100*. Then you have Luke running around dodging blasters while Vader is tanking, but when he gets constantly hit, it drains his health, killing him.
    - Loadouts
    - Blasters, horribly, HORRIBLY, designed, and they get worse with every update, you get two Machinegun like blasters (forgot what that kind of blaster is called) almost when you start out, so you have level 5 people mowing you down in a hallway due to spray and pray, the EE-3 for regs is a POS, but the DL-44.... OP, OP, OP, I catch people SNIPING with it EFFECTIVELY! A Sniper Pistol! Then in CQC, two shots you die, literally, the first shots takes away 50 health, unless it;s upper torso, then 75, and head = dead unlike EVERY other weapon except the shotty.
    - Star Cards, horrible idea to begin with
    - No real Sniping (Star Cards Half-A** it)
    - Blast Radius, you see this tiny little explosion, yet you die from it being 15 yards away like it landed at your feet wtf
    - Dog Fights, unbalanced, Rebs have better tech then the Imps (lore-breaking)
    - Walker Assualt, HAHAHAHAHAHA Good Luck winning as the Empire, it's easy for the Rebs to win on the first two Stations since they just keep getting more and more Y-Wings as they hold them, the Imps have to take BOTH to get rid of the Y-Wings, one isn't good enough, plus the Rebs can attack the AT-ATs on their own when the attack commences, including with Starfighter pickups and Snowspeeders with tow-cables
    - Endor, I get it, it's famous, but the Rebels get camo where they can blend in almost 100% fine, while the Empire sticks out like a yellow pimple on the tip of your nose
    - Matchmaking is Horrible, worse than most Battlefield games (and I LOVE those games)
    - Team mates seem to have missing brain cells half the time, all they do is Rush head on, sometimes not even firing
    - Spawns are Horrid, there are about two or three spots on each map your team can spawn at, so it's easy to get Spawn Trapped
    - DeSync, De-synchronization, basically the worst lag, in some games it will always kill you, just play or watch ARMA, this happens a lot in this game, even if you have perfect Internet Connection
    - Can get stuck trying to run across a Small rock and can't mantle over even simple objects
    - Many, MANY more....

    Pros:
    - Star Wars
    - It's Canon and Says Boba Lives
    - Good Graphics
    - Trolls your friends by telling them it's awesome, and laugh as they just wasted $60 (con if your that friend)

    The game features a bunch of boring, dull, loud, confusing and repetitive gamemodes to play on! Let's list them all!
    - Fighter Squadron: Surprise! DICE were too lazy to program space battles so they put you in a Star Fighter above the 4 planets of the game! No, no not in space. Above the ground. They should call in Wars: Battlefront because THERE ARE NO STARS!
    - Supremecy: Capture and defend control points
    - Walker Assault: Attack or defend AT-ATs
    - Cargo: Capture an object
    - Droid Run: Capture an object
    - Drop Zone: Capture an object
    - Blast: Just the regular TDM that exist in every multiplayer game ever created
    - Heroes vs Villains: Defeat the Heroes or Villains
    - Hero Hunt: Defeat the Hero or Villain to play as one, as long as you deal the most damage of course
    - Turning Point: I already listed this one, it's called "Supremecy"
    - Extraction: Please buy the $50 Season Pass in order to get access to this gamemode that nobody plays.

    The game also features no offline content, space battles, Galactic Conquest or balanced gameplay!

    This game is a joke. It's so pathetic that a small company in 2005 can do everything better than a huge company in 2016 can. Don't buy this game unless you want to pay $50 more just to get some actual content.

    EDIT: That review was before the Bespin DLC launched. Now the game is even worse. Hell you can't even play the game because the HUD is gone. And if you actually get into a game you'll just die in the first 5 second. Everything and I mean EVERYTHING in the game is unbalanced. Wanna play Heroes vs Villains? Nope, you'll just die in 5 shots by either Greedo, Dengar or random f*cking Stormtroopers spamming Explosive Shot. This has to be one of the worst games I have ever played. Don't f*cking buy this garbage. Don't buy the Season Pass.

    But it's okay for the Season Pass to be $50 because EA won't add microtransactions. OH WAIT! That's f*cking right! Standard Edition, Deluxe Edition, Ultimate Edition, $50 Season Pass, 4 DLCs AND microtransactions! This has to be one of the biggest money grabs in history. EA has total control of one of the most beloved francise ever made. And what do they do with it? Create mobile games and pump out yearly unfinished Star Wars games full with microtransactions and paywalls. Because EA doesn't give a damn about Star Wars. They just want money out of it!

    But it's okay that they added microtransactions because they're adding free content! Yay! 3 new maps (1 old) and 2 Hero skins!

You're probably thinking "It's a Star Wars game, it doesn't need logic". Well, you're the only reason EA is still publishing games. Because people like you defends an unfinished product. You're even defending EA putting the whole game behind a $50 paywall.

    I wish I could give this game a negative score; this game isn't worthy of the Battlefront name. It is easily the least fun shooter I've ever played. Graphics are worthless if the game isn't fun.

    The original Battlefront games were (still are) a blast and had almost infinite replay value. BF2 on Xbox360 was one of the most fun games I've ever played.     this suck in some many ways, and of course ea want us to keep buying dlc. There is no campaign and this is because they want the launch day match with the movie. I was waiting a long time for a good battlefront, i could wait more. Dont buy this

One gun has pretty much to stats in everything, so it is the gun you need to be competitive, and if you want to unlock everything you must get paid DLCs. This is unacceptable for a full price game. There is less content than most F2P games aswell.

    There are no space battles, half of the fun of bf2, but there is lame sky battles that consist of escorting a ship to safety. The controls are dumbed down and it is no where near as fun as trying to destroy the enemies mothership in bf2. No strategy, just chaos.

    Vehicles are few in the ground games. They are also not varied and usually consist of perhaps an X wing, which you get from getting power ups on the map. The old games had many vehicles of all shapes and sizes like AT-AT's, Roller droids and a range of ships. Only two main ships appear for each class in the flying gamemode, and many vehicles are no longer controllable, like AT-AT's. Half of the old games was being in vehicles- do you just hate dun, EA?

    Also, maps are bland, basically open spaces and battles are clusterf*cks, not coherent at all. No where near as well made as the old games and I don't like the look of them as much. They have better graphics, yes, but they are just bland and variants of grey and brown.

    There is no meaningful single player campaign, just a God-awful survival mode. The old games had a fun single player where you played as a soldier rather than the hero and progressed through maps telling the whole star wars story from the front lines, from the prequels to the originals. Also, Galactic Conquest is gone, and instant action.

    Galactic conquest was very fun but the loss of instant action is awful. It allowed friends to team up or oppose each other, and play against relatively good AI in objective games, not a rubbish survival with crap AI. The game is barebones with, and even without DLC.

    The lack of prequel inspired content and very few things from the original movies, there is a lack of things to do and it doesn't feel that Star Wars-y.

    I didn't expect much, EA, but this was the worst game of 2015 and craps on the brand.

    ea manages the servers and customer help so bad, they make comcast seem like the golden standard against which all customer service experiences should be like. what's more, i haven't seen a single ea employee respond to an issue on a forum or in cs chat since the game came out. the most that has happened were false promises and blatant disregard for customer satisfaction. 0/10

    10 guns, 5 maps, slowest gameplay ever. Pro gaming is dead. Only graphic. This game suck. Don't buy it save your money and buy a real fps. or choose to play it witch cheats.

    Shambles of a game. If this didn't have the Star Wars in the title the servers would have been shut down already. It feels like playing a beta even with the season pass, which is a con for two reasons - it's overpriced for the paltry amount of content within and secondly the only players that use the DLC are the losers that sit on the game all day every day.

    Lack of content, this game was built just for online mode!!, we have nor enought gun's, and they sell part of the original content of the game on a season pass!, unbelievable i wasted my money on a game I've waited for so many years, never by a game done by EA anymore

    bunch of thieves and serve to all the other companies like to enjoy and think that we are idiots. battlefield1, overwatch, ST battlefrond 2 all these games should not sell any cent.

    I bought this game a couple of weeks ago and today I just put it in my PS4. First problem I experienced was that it has taken over half an hour to install. Then to my chagrin, their is little single player experience. I did the tutorials to see how to play the game, then did almost all of the single player stuff only to find it is the same thing only on different planets.     You are always blocked by other players. The connection is bad. The maps are **** Most players are 12 year olds without a brain and the heroes are way too strong.

    If they want to sell their video games, I'm afraid it's a bad idea. The community will tire one day of the abuses of these companies that only want to become rich and their users do not care, it is no longer for fun but for interest.

    It's not the most complex shooter, but it's the ideal pick-up-and-play experience for Star Wars fans. Stunning environments, solid shooting and immersive sound design mask the shortcomings. [Jan 2016, p.82]

    With the new film of the space opera saga finally on the big screen and the release of Battlefront's new sequel, both after a decade overdue, it is definitely the best time to be a Star Wars fan. The game itself is a dream-come-true for fans, and the Star Wars spectacle is strong in this one. However, if it is depth and longevity you seek... this is not the game you are looking for.
