It's wrong to give this a score lower than 7.5, as it is an excellent game. It's like Titanfall. Everything is excellent and different, but there's a slight lack of content.

absolutely stunning game, dont understand where the hate comes from, only reason that it isn't a 10 is the lack of single player modes such as the missing of galactic conquest, a personal favourite of mine from the original battlefronts.

In supremacy, it is absolute madness outdoing the ground war mode of call of duty. Almost everything in this beats call of duty as a first person shooter, maps are huge, vehicles are more useable. Very easy to see that this game is developed by the same guys as battlefield but just fantastic

No weapons are blatantly more over powered and remarks that it is dominated by those who play a lot more is rubbish, you may get killed a few times and they will pop up top of the leaderboard but there's plenty of chances to get your own back.

The complaint of the DLC is also ridiculous, I'm not buying it because I don't have too! The game is good enough as it is, the complaint is just people being petty and not playing the game as it should be played, a first person shooter with actual gameplay in mind.

Perfect for those who love their Star Wars and FPS's, best shooter of 2015 and best shooter of mine for years to come, mind this is very much my opinion and my wantings in a game, very multiplayer based but it's so good and diverse it washes away the lack of single player modes. I cannot see myself going back to Black Ops 3 for a long long time

Also people complain about it not having more advanced features that modern shooters often have, but I personally think that it reduces the ridiculous amount of overpowering force an advanced player can bring to bear against someone new to the game. Someone at level 50 can be brought down by a new player if the new player knows what they are doing.

Some games are imbalanced which is why I gave it a 9, but on the other had I admire the tenacity which the system keeps you with the players you have been playing with through multiple games to bring about a sense of team...

The gameplay is very smooth, I love the fact that you can switch between third and first person, personally I chose third person but I can play either, third person just allows me to view the entire area much easier. There aren't many guns but there are more than enough, most people hate this game because of the lack of maps, lack of guns, but come on..it's star wars! What more did u expect? This is not a competitive game by any means once again, it is a FUN game though. I seriously could not stop playing it when I got it, played for a good 4 hours straight until I forced myself to stop playing Drop Zone.. anyways, this game is great for casual gamers, it looks beautiful and there are no bugs, at least from what I had played so far. This is the last time I trust reviews for games, these reviews did no justice, people tend to be really picky nowadays, sometimes I feel like they got paid to write a bad review LOL! Star Wars Battlefront is great. The graphics are immense, sound is top notch and the gameplay is incredibly smooth. Half of them are as bad as me and that makes it fun. EA have been adding more content over the months sinceStar Wars Battlefront is great. EA have been adding more content over the months since launch and the initial price tag has now been fully justified.

The lack of weapon customisation and small gains obtained from upgrading star cards I see as overall very positive because it ensures the most hardcore gamers don't get big advantages over those who don't have so much to play. It maintains some level of balance, keeps matches close and engaging. The hero power ups enable even the worst players to get a load of kills and top the table at the end of the match. The training and single player missions are a very good way to practice before jumping into the online matches and I am very glad they are there.

Overall Star Wars Battlefront is one of the best games I have ever played and receives a well deserved 9/10 from me. This is a game I can see myself playing for a long time to come. I can't wait for the DLC!

    Negatives:

That said, the graphics are amazing. I find myself wanting to just watch the background sometimes, or investigate the far corners of the map just to see what is there. Beautiful, almost like moving artwork.

The gameplay can be extremely satisfying, and I’m no FPS pro. I’m a veteran of games like Doom and Halo, but never was good at ‘twitchy’ games like Battlefront or Call of Duty. Perseverance does pay off, with better side arms and accessories, and with gameplay experience that translates to a better understanding of why and how to attack a mission. That perspective gives a better gameplay experience than just running to the front, shooting, and dying, over and over. I’m a stats guy, and though mine are not good – I still take pride in improvement, and the fun moment of a plan being executed.
Some missions will be more fun depending on the gameplay experience you want to have. Too much run and gun? Try Extraction or Cargo Run, where stealth can pay dividends. Playing as the heroes is always fun, though difficult at times. And the Starfighter battles are good. Not great – like the old X-Wing and TIE Fighter games on PC. They tend to be a big fur ball, like an old cartoon, but it’s still fun to drop in on every once in a while.
If you like Star Wars, and like FPS at all, you will love playing Battlefront. Until you get hosed 1kill-9deaths in a mission. Then you will decide how much you like it – and do you want to improve. There is no wrong answer there, and I do look forward to a full single player in the next SW Battlefront.

The vast majority of negative reviews, by journalist and gamers, talk about what the game lacks. Now yes, DICE and EA put the Battlefront franchise tag on this game, which is just asking for trouble. But they have also asserted that this game was made predominantly for Star Wars fans. So in trying to please as much as possible both camps, Star Wars fans who may have never played FPS games like COD, Battlefield/Front, Destiny, CS:GO, etc. and those hard core FPS folks who can shoot a pebble off a stormtrooper's helmet @ 100 yds.

But the game is what it is, so let's address these negatives that have been voiced and I'll dismiss them one by one:

Lack of variety in terms of characters and weapons and vehicles. This is a silly remark, because it's Star Wars. So, no...there aren't any orcs or bows and arrows or motorcycles or combat knives. In fact, DICE has done a wonderful job pushing the envelope to actually create variety that really isn't in the Star Wars movie library. Yes, the expanded universe has a lot more going on, but about half of the weapons in the game were created from whole cloth by DICE to give just as much variety as possible. So no, you can't say a Halo game is shallow because don't ride a horse in it.

Next is the lack of a solo campaign. This is a game featuring multiplayer combat, but it's not just that...there is plenty of solo content as well. But again, that's not the focus of the game, that you're playing a one-person Star Wars adventure game. You're complaining about something. So next time you play Tetris, please don't complain about the lack of RPG elements.

Variety of missions...not counting the training missions there's 21 of them. So be quiet.

There isn't any content missing here. It is what it is. It's a Star Wars combat game, that is the most faithful, true Star Wars game EVER made. If you're looking for something else, then go play that and give that game a review based on what that type of game is supposed to deliver, but don't give this game RED scores because it's not the game you would have made.

So why don't I give this more than an 8? Well, there are times the game isn't fun. Being sniped by someone you never saw gets old fast. There are too many power ups that are overpowered, given that you can after a few ranks have your own arsenal with you. Getting plastered by proximity mines and other things over and over makes the combat low on the actual skill side and more on winning the power up lottery. I'd replace a lot of the weapon power ups with recharge pick ups.

The fighter combat is underdeveloped, giving artificial restraints on when you can do evasive maneuvers or when you can shoot a missile and the range of speed the fighters have is very limited, and doing it in cockpit mode is just suicide, in my opinion. In Walker Assault, air supremacy, especially when you're the Rebels is a big key to winning, and air combat is very hit and miss.

So there are some parts of what the game actually is that has me frustrated given how it could have been done better, but again, I think when you try to please everyone, well, you know the rest.

But no...this isn't a poor game that deserves a bad score, it is a labor of love, that yeah...maybe could have used a few more months of work and maybe some more content on release, but it was clearly scheduled to be released prior to holiday gift buying season and before a certain movie comes out on Dec 18.

So next time, DICE/EA....call the game Star Wars Wars and the Battlefront/COD fanboys won't drive down your metacritic score.

And for you FPS snobs out there...the dark side leads to suffering, yo.

There are only two cons that I really have with the game. The first is of course the DLC policy of EA. The second is the real lack of customization within the game. There are a decent amount of weapons and star cards but there could always be more. It would be really nice to have some modable weapons like a different scope or slightly better damage for less accuracy type of thing.

The real problem with the customization is with the player appearance. It would have been nice to be able to unlock say, a scout troopers helmet and stick it on a snow trooper's armor. Really, I would have been really happy with the ability to put markings and paint on the stormtrooper's armor and to switch up what your rebel is wearing a little. All you can do is change the face of the person which is a real shame.

In the end this really is a good game. It is balanced and bug free which is rare to say of many AAA games coming out these days. The graphics are amazing, even on a console, and the gameplay is solid. Its getting low scores mostly because of the DLC (which is somewhat justified) and butthurt ppl who just wanted a clone of battlefront 2.

The maps are straightforward with enough complexity.

The gameplay is great, it's fun, addicting, not too hard to learn, the heroes and villains are great and so are the ships (if you have trouble flying them, invert Y axis, it helps a lot) the music and sound effects are simply PERFECT and the graphics are fantastic, DICE really nailed the star wars aesthetic here. The multiplayer in Battlefront is great, the best modes are Supremacy, Walker Assault, Hero's vs Villains and Fighter squadron.

Now this game isn't perfect, it DESPERATELY NEEDS the capability to do split-screen while in online multiplayer, that would be fantastic. There isn't enough offline content, the ability to play the online modes while offline against bots would fix that. There needs to be MORE planets/maps and heroes, it's disappointing that we are getting them in an overpriced season pass.

Now, is this game worth it's price?? If you love star wars and want a fun shooter that feels like star wars the YESSSS this is worth it. If you don't / kind of like star wars then i would not recommend this, the star wars feel just wont be for you. YES the game needs more content, NO this is not a bad game. Good multiplayer fun, the modes will hopefully be expanded and some of them are not tremendously fun but some are great i.e supremacy, walker assault, dropzone etc.

Really got the Star Wars feel spot on, amazing graphics and sound.

Fun gameplay, it's not COD/battlefield level of sophistication but it's a reasonably level playing field and easy to pick up and play whilst also being open to players developing skill sets.

The lack of a campaign and solo play is not a factor for me, that is why I play the likes of MGS, Witcher etc so I purchased this game for multiplayer action which is what I have got.

Overall I can understand the complaints and I would have preferred a complete game up front rather than a ton of add ons through DLC. The guys complaining that air combat is too easy should figure out how to take it to the next level and the same with the rest of the game play imo. My conclusion is that it is a good game which might become great with updates, I've enjoyed it so far and am not bored after a couple of weeks.

The game looses a big deal on the Price - content sector. They stripped the game to basics just to sell DLCs and Expansions. Just like it happened with Destiny. This is pure BAD MARKETING if you ask me and its a SHAME for a company with a big name like EA DICE to behave like this to the customers. I hope they will listen to the community and give at least some free content.

If they would have packaged the DLC, new maps and modes I think this would have been revived better critically. It's a lot of fun but not a lot of content. I'm having a hard time paying $100 for barely a $60.00 game. In the end I'll cave because who wants to miss out on getting the "whole game".

It seems to become this battle between fanboys and haters but I think underlying it there is this general feeling that gamers expectations are not being meet and we are not finding satisfaction in what we are delivered, or a significant portion of us anyway. So to make the point those who are feedup frustrated and disappointed vent with a zero review. Understandable but it becomes a bit of a mess of zeros and 10s basically offsetting for an overall of 5. In my view this game and others affected by this are not a 5.

For me this game is about an 8.5 but I do agree it could have been alot better in terms of value for money in the content we received. There should have been a campaign for one. The little training missions were really cool. Surely they could have expanded this into a fully fledged epic starwars campaign. It is also clear the game was chopped up to sell the season pass. Is this a trend that we will accept. Its clear we are unhappy about it but its probably neccessary for it to be financially viable. Im not sure its simply motivated by greed but maybe it is. Destiny showed us how successful that can be but when it comes at the cost of sacrificing the overall quality of the game developers need to be careful as theres only so much gamers will accept. Perceived value to gamers is important. We do not want to feel like we are paying fullprice for half the game.

The game itself I love to play. I like that its been simplified to appeal to starwars fans. Walker assault has been my favourite mp mode. The rush of a team win as the rebels is fantastic. Personally I like the direction they took with this game. If your a casual gamer or a star wars fan or both I unreservedly recommend this game. Do not be put off by the negativity. It is a fantastic star wars casual gaming experience. I think thats what they were going for and they certainly delivered it but its upset those that wanted it like the original battlefronts.

The thing i do agree on is it needs a campaign to give it more content. The season pass im divided on cause I think its just the reality the gaming industry faces to meet rising costs. Am I happy about it? no but I do understand why they are doing it as trying to sell the full game at game plus season price cost would be less acceptable to gamers. Personally I would prefer to be getting the full game at a higher price. I hate dlc as much as the next gamer and usually do not buy it as i know i can not resell it.

It's fun, it's fast paced action and I honestly don't see how all these players are complaining about EA/DICE cashing while games like Destiny have a similar approach but where the game is far less enjoyable and graphically satisfying than Battlefront.

It's also worth mentioning that the game works flawlessly. I've played for 12 hours now and only encountered one small display related bug. This is not trivial in this day and age where most of the games hit the shelves half broken or worse...

There is however one big miss, and that's the lack of content in the base game. With merely 4 maps per multiplayer mode (5 when the free Battle of Jakku DLC drops), playing the same mode for a long time will quickly get old. As as the multiplayer matches don't last very long, one rotation doesn't take that long.

DLC will make up for that over time, but most of that will be paid DLC. And it's yet to be seen how many players will actually buy this, as the season pass is reported to come with a pricetag of a complete game.
So the question remains whether with all the DLC content, you'd have full servers to play on...
This also beg the question how EA/Dice will handle the servers post-DLC. As there are no custom servers, the players will entirely depend on EA or Dice to give them populated servers with a proper map rotation.

    Summary:
+ Authentic Star Wars look and feel
    + Fun and addicting
+ Graphics that make any other PS4 title look bad

    - Lack of content in the base game
    - Overpriced DLC scheme
    - No custom servers
    - No single player campaign (there are single player/coop missions where you fight waves of enemies, but not even worth the mention in my opinion)

This game does not go beyond the title, in terms of game depth, because it is really a battlefront and heavily focuses on the various battles that are happening during the rebellion. I wish it had more of a story line but I can settle with this. I imagine the next installment will have a story based on the new trilogy.

That being said the fact that it is an EA game, we all know there is a bigger business plan in the works. They have for sure stripped down the original release of this game and it is no mystery they are going to be releasing it in expansion packs. I can say right now this game is still fun to play, it's great to pick up and play a few rounds with your friends but it is lacking in the amount and quality of content at this point.

After about 2 or 3 expansion pass releases this game should be at a great point, but the fact that we need to wait that long does put a damper on the overall experience. Either way if you love the Star Wars universe this is a great game and even though the Empire (EA) is trying to hold it back and make some more money I think the content that will be released will make it that much better.

If you are on the fence about this game this review is for you. First of all the graphics and sound design are phenomenal(playing on PS4). EA has absolutely nailed the Star Wars universe here. The dense forests of Endor, the snow covered hills and valleys of Hoth have been painstakingly recreated to perfection. You are transported to a galaxy far far away like never before. In terms of game play, its very solid. It is not quite as hardcore as Call of Duty or Halo and leans more toward an arcade experience but the same gun handling skills that rack up kills in CoD and other major shooters will work here as well. Those claiming that this is Battlefield with a Star Wars skin are way off base. Naturally there are similarities since both games share the same developer but as a long time Battlefield vet I can tell you that this is a different animal. There is a wealth of modes here and while some are better than others the sheer amount of options is very welcome. I suspect most people will gravitate toward Walker Assault and Supremacy. These are both big team battle modes which focus on controlling specific areas of the map. If you are interested in a slightly more intimate experience there are plenty of modes which offer smaller player counts and cozier maps. However, the force is not entirely strong with this one as it could be and I do have a few gripes with the title. Respawns can be a bit problematic. I have spawned in the middle of an enemy battalion countless times. Some of the gun play can be erratic at times. In some instances a few laser bolts will put an enemy down for good while other times two dozen will have no effect. This does not happen very often and these could be connection issues or something that could be addressed with a patch but it is worth pointing out. My other issue with the game is that lack of maps at launch. The game ships with 4 planets and while they are all rendered beautifully and a blast to play a larger variety would have been most welcome. With all of that said this game is an absolute blast. Controls feel great and there is enough mode variety here to keep you busy for a long time. I do wish there was a dedicated campaign included but the multiplayer is so well designed that I can overlook the omission. I do want to point out that Star Wars fans will get a little more out of the title than non fans due to the fantastic sense of place which Dice has created here. There are plenty of Easter eggs throughout the maps that will tickle your nostalgia and put a big smile on your face. This game was made to allow players to relive their Star Wars fantasies and while there is still plenty here for shooter fans with no interest in the Star Wars universe, fans will get the most bang for their buck. I’m having an absolute blast. I hope that folks interested in the title give it a try and not be turned away from a great gaming experience by all the hate and misspelled reviews from people who have not even played this title. Most major review sites are giving it an 8 and I would say that is spot on. A well made and insanely fun shooter with a few minor shortcomings which are overshadowed by the fun factor. Expand

The ability to switch from first to third person is a breakthrough, if not the small fact that you can actually switch from one shoulder to the other, amazing.

Generally, multiplayer modes are great fun, I personally enjoy the 12 or 20 players ones, 40 players modes are a bit chaotic, that the impression I got. It is a game that is much more enjoyable played with friends or your PSN clan, because if you go solo and you face a coordinated team, I asure you that you'll suffer a lot! And seeing that your team does not focus on the objectives doesn't help at all, and Battlefront is purely focused on conquering the objectives. I have come to see matches where the max killer ended the game with 81 kills and his team still lost.

I would try to change and make easier most vehicles controls, since in some maps it's very complicated to handle.

As for the gameplay vs IA, it's just boring, that's for sure, but when you play with ppl is much more fun, especially when you try to complete the Master mode and 5 stars difficulty, is a worthy challenge that require coordination with your team and skill.

I've spent tons of hours playing Destiny and I'm immensely grateful for the rise up to 60fps (Destiny has 30fps), the gameis much more fluid. And what about the graphics? It is the strong point of this game, simply stunning.

One point that I would have strengthened to please the series fans (personally I'm not a Star Wars fan myself), would had been to put more background, both online and multiplayer versus AI.

As I said, for me it was one of the best multiplayer of the year and I'm enjoying it very much.

Vehicle use is disappointing, as previous battlefront and even battlefield games you had to first learn how to fly under control before learning how to dogfight, this game it's far too easy to control vehicles and getting kills in vehicles is far too easy and less skillful. Not every game mode is great but it's still fun (though having no galactic conquest is downright confusing). Multiplayer: Playing with friends is easy to set up and endlessly fun.

    Cons -

Overall Game Interface: The title screen and menus for this game feel like a damn Health Insurance website. Having to register for some worthless EA account isn't exactly a pleasure either.

Imbalanced Game Mechanics: During flying mode (Flight Squadron) it is pretty obvious that the Imperials have a disadvantage. While Rebel ships are equipped with shields, Tie fighters only have a boost which doesn't do much good in a battle. Maybe it would if this were a race...(or a Pod race)

Heroes: I do not care for Hero mode. Nostalgia is not as important as gameplay and these guys are nearly impossible to kill unless you gang up on them.

Simplicity: It's a simple game. You start on a menu, you select a game, and then you shoot lasers at each other and that's pretty much it. If you want more out of your video games, or just a more in depth open world choice-based experience, you won't find that in Battlefront.

Content Releases: 50 dollars is a little steep for just the first quarter of an expansion (which so far is only 1 new level). And the 'new heroes' are just characters we already had (Nien Numb and a Rodian), with different color clothing. It just reeks of 'Scammery'.

Once again, this game will grow on you. At first it is very simple, almost too simple. You start with very little inventory, and basically no customization options. But the more you play, the more you are able to unlock and you start to see how in depth this game really is. There are far more items, weapons and fighting mechanics than what seems at first glance. And I can't stress enough how much more fun it is to play if you have a friend or two. That seems to be how this game was meant to be played. Being a major Star Wars nerd doesn't hurt either.

As I said before I can understand why people don't like it but I don't see why people despise it. In the films you don't see all these different varieties of stormtroopers with different weapons and I think they have done well putting the stuff in they did. I am having a lot of fun playing this with my friend despite its lack of content. The game may not be as good as the other battlefront games but Having put a lot of hours into it already, I'm still really in to it and I've barely touched the missions. Expand

First thing first, this game is Multiplayer-focused. You can play some missions by yourself or with a friend, but that's not the focus of this game.
The game is beautiful: the graphics are awesome even on consoles and the sound department is faithful to the movies; you actually feel like you're part of the action.
This is what you'll call a "dumb fun" game: there's no complex mechanics

However, what is turning off a lot of people is the price. The game has a 50$ season pass, with that money you can buy another AAA game. Luckily for me, the ultimate edition (that is, the base game plus the season pass) costs around 60$ in my country.
You might want to rent the game somewhere if you are doubting this game though.

The lack content really hits the game the hardest here only offering a fun survival mode that will have you fending off waves of enemies. Survival entertain you for the first handful of times you play it. The other notable offline mode is battles similar to survival being that it does not have much replay value. Battles is a mode similar to kill confirmed in the Call of Duty games. Star Wars Battlefront is one of the better multiplayer with one of the best looking games that is out there but once you run out of things to do there isn't much reason to keep playing it. Finally Star Wars Battlefront is a good game that i enjoy 7.5/10

This game feels sort of casual, though that isn't really a bad thing. The unlock system is easy to understand, the servers feel solid. Visually the game is amazing. It may lack some long-term playability, but if you are looking for a game you can just pick up and play for a bit, then this will do you well.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Battlefront is everything I've ever asked for from star wars and it really does make me feel as if Im in the Star Wars Universe. Beautiful game, well made, quick to learn and just all out fun to play. However, EA said they wanted to replicate the star wars battles yet there is a lack of space battles which sort of defeats the point of star wars. It would of been great if we had both battles of the death star in the game. There are also other maps they could of made that were in the original trilogy. Im also very disapointed with the amount of playable maps that are available. Playing these maps over and over again will eventually become boring. So hopefully they will add maps in future dlc. The fact that there isn't a single player doesn't bother me at all, star wars isn't the only game to not have a single player. Overall the game is great fun, love playing it, community is friendly and I highly recommend it to people who just want to feel like they are a kid again and fly the millennium Falcon. Good Job EA. Battlefront is a near perfect game, except for 2 major flaws.

    1. There are not enough maps or offline modes. I mean, why the hell can't we do a droid capture or a cargo run with AI and a friend on the couch? They're small maps with no more than 12 players. For a $70 game, you do expect to get a little more environmental diversity... especially when there is no campaign. 2. Players die

    2. Players die too easily. There is much to be said for a quick-paced shooter, but Battlefront honestly pushes the limit to a point where it can be a real bummer to play sometimes. As my girlfriend says "I shoot them 4 times, then they shoot me once and I die!". Sure, foot shots aren't the most powerful, but something needs to be done to allow casual games to get more out of multiplayer.

Other than those two things, the game is beautiful, well thought-out and fun. Fun is really what it's all about and I think too many jaded reviewers didn't actually play much more than 10 hours before they said "It loses it's charm after 10 hours." I'm nearing hour 20 and I can't wait to play when I get home. The trick to making the most out of Battlefront is to accept that you will die sometimes (or most of the time).

The game is not comparable to the earlier battlefronts as many are doing. This is a reboot in a new decade with new players and new engines. The only large thing the game suffers from is a lack of content. NOT A HUGE LACK but a lack. There should be more maps for the larger, more enjoyable game modes like walker assault, and more original and fitting customization for the imperials. Overall i think this will end up as DLC making this game a 8 instead of a 9. But we do have the free Jakku DLC to look forward to very soon. This is not a 5.2 game. reactionary fanboys post these reviews without even playing or taking into consideration for what DICE was aiming for. I like Star Wars and this game offers everything a Star Wars fan wants. You have some tutorial missions you can run, some coop missions you can run, survival mode you can run, and the multiplayer. The game is a fun game to pick and play a couple of matches online. It doesn't take you that much time to run thru the online multiplayer matches so your not going to be sitting in front of the TV all the time. In a hour you can run two walker assault matches and one droid run match. Quick and easy. If your looking for a game that has all the fixings like Battlefield 4 or Call of Duty stay away. If you looking for a quick and fun Star Wars experience get it.

There are 10 game-modes now because of the free DLC, and they are all very fun. There are a few single player missions that are fun with friends, and still kind of enjoyable alone. This game was made with Star Wars fans in mind, and only buy this is you are one.
The game may be lacking in content a little bit, and may become a bit repetitive thanks to the game-modes being to similar to each other, but overall as long as you allow yourself to be absorbed into the atmosphere, then this game will never get old.

    Lets get down to business:

Graphics- beautiful, and most importantly, looks like star wars. 9/10

ambiance- this maybe the best part of the game. The sounds and feels of the game are spectacular, and every time you hear the screech of a tie fighter or the zing of a blaster, you feel at home 9/10

game-play- wickedly fun, for the first few hours. The game-modes are repetitive and annoying at some times, but as long as you take small enough doses of this game you will always finding yourself coming back for more of the beauty and fun and fun of this game. The gun-play is fast and smooth, animations are flawless, and heroes and power-ups add a little more fun into each game-mode, but it still isn't enough at sometimes. 7/10

maps- Big and beautiful and full of nostalgia and star wars beauty. There may not be to many of them, but they all seem to give me the feels. 8/10

game-modes- ah, the game-modes. There are now 10 of them, but most of them feel the same. My favorites are probably walker assault and drop-zone, and basically all the rest are variations of those. It is disappointing because EA DICE could have made some really cool game-modes, but of course there is the DLC. Oh wait. its 50 dollars. 6/10

Customization- The star card system is interesting, but the idea of cards refreshing to be used again is hard to get right. there is a good amount of customizing with star cards, and allows for endless variations of cards. The emotes are cool, and there are many different facial customization to choose from too. Unfortunately, there aren't to many guns to choose from. 8/10

now for the final verdict. Star Wars battlefront is a good game, but not a great game. it exceeds in big pretty maps, nostalgia, and fun , fast game-play. Sadly, it falls due to repetitive, to similar game-modes and lack of content. Hey, this is the age that developers hold back content and sell it as DLC later, right? (I'm looking at you, Destiny.)

    overall: 7.5/10

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I had never played a Battlefront game before this but I think that's the reason I like it so much. Ok I will admit it is kind of dull later on because the base game only has like 11 guns and only a few maps that are good but if you like Star Wars and Battlefield then I'm pretty sure you will like this. The controls are good and the multiplayer is well balanced, but the number of maps in the game is unsatisfactory. They keep making DLC add ons for the game, which you can access if you have a "season pass", that being said I'm not surprised, that a lot of players feel cheated right now, myself included. Despite this, the game is still a lot of fun. Expand

Feels like that people that complain about the game actually never played the battlefront series before, I mean its a great game, a really battlefront tittle, with a few changes, the only thing that I think is a con for the game is the season pass that add maps that should be on the original game.

However, I personally had a lot of fun with this game because of the beautiful graphics and battles.

I really really like this game. Probably one of my favorite FPS. The graphics are good and the maps are awesome.

I enjoyed it so much that even though I own it on Xbox One, I rebought it for my PS4 due to switching sides.

Also, do NOT buy this game for a single player game/story. This was created and built as an online shooter.

Battlefront (2015) > Battlefront 2 Tiene: mejores batallas
    Mejor contenido
    Mejor diseño de mapas
    Mejores Dlc

This game was one of the first games that I logged 500+ hours in. IMO, this game is the definitive Star Wars game, even though I can see all the arguments against it. After all of the updates and making the DLC free, this game works. If feels like Star Wars in ways that no game has felt before. I haven't even gotten into the graphics. This is, by far, one of the best looking games ever. It's now 5 years later and there is no game now that matches this games colours and models and just overall completeness in the looks. The heroes and villains and the starships are the most unique parts of these games, and they do not disappoint (except the fact that you have to run around the map looking for a pickup). If you get the chance to experience this game and it's DLC, the Bespin and Death Star maps are my favourite level designs, maybe ever. I might be biased cause I love Star Wars, but this game is just that good after 5 years. Expand

If you were expecting Battlefield 4 but in the SW universe you'll be disappointed, big time. If you judge this game as a standalone game and not compare it to any other DICE game, you'll enjoy the game. With that being said they're still issues with the amount of content in the game, which should be addressed

Those wanting a game reminiscent of the older Battlefront titles are going to be disappointed. Same for those looking for a content rich experience. However people just looking for some Star Wars fun can find an enjoyable experience here. They just have to be willing to put up with some less than satisfactory aspects.

There's no single-player campaign. There is single-player, offline content, but it all just boils down to bot matches and tutorials. There are some bonus objectives to tackle in these modes, but the only one really worth spending any time with is the survival mode. Unfortunately it too has some issues. For one there are only four maps. It also limits the mode to only two players. It's decent, but the AI isn't the greatest and honestly it lacks the punch survival modes have in other games.

But by far the most disappointing part of the meager single-player offerings are that they show potential for what could have been an at least decent campaign. DICE nailed the universe. This game really does feel like Star Wars. Thee graphics and sound are both stellar. Combine those elements with some sharper AI, a solid plot, and decent structure and there could have been a campaign worth talking about. Sadly there isn't.

With the offline content being so lackluster this is definitely a multiplayer focused game. Thankfully it mostly succeeds there. However the more picky out there will still find plenty of gripes. It isn't exactly bursting at the seams with content. More maps at launch would have been appreciated as would have some more modes. I personally view what's here as at the very least a decent amount of content. The real sting about this though comes from the $50 season pass. It's like EA wants us to pay almost double for a more complete experience. Kind of a low move.

Another potential issue comes from the gameplay itself. Star Wars is a huge property. One that has attracted fans from every walk of life. In order to make a game that is accessible to as many of these fans as possible, it has been dumbed down in some ways from your average shooter. Skill still trumps all, but no matter what your gaming experience you can still feel at least a little proud of yourself when matches end. It's not too bad. The only real issue I have with it is the lack of voice chat. Without it there really isn't any strategizing going on outside of party chat with your friends. Some modes could benefit from it.

Yet for all of Battlefront's issues I still find myself having fun with it. That's because it feels like Star Wars. Blasting my way through familiar locations, getting hero power ups, and playing fun modes like Walker Assault make it an enjoyable enough an experience to recommend for most Star Wars fans. Even with most of the modes just being standard to the average FPS, the Star Wars skin keeps me entertained. Perhaps it's better off as a rental at first, but I think Star Wars fans just looking for some multiplayer fun are going to find something to enjoy here regardless of faults.

    I give the game a 7.5/10

There are elements that need to be acknowledged: the game looks and sounds INCREDIBLE and is a dream come true in a sense that it makes you feel like you are inside the universe of one of the most beloved franchises in history. It really feels like you are part of it. So there is a fan service here that will definitely appeal to SW fans.

It really feels like you are part of it. So there is a fan service here that will definitely appeal to SW fans.

That being said, the game itself. It's an okay shooter (although simplistic in its mechanics), that can be fun. But unfortunately, there are so many flaws to SW-Battlefront that, no matter how much of a hardcore fan you are, can't be forgiven:

    1) No single-player content at all (the single player stuff barely qualifies in my opinion, as it is just a boredom fest).

    2) Very limited options in terms of game modes and maps. It gets old and thin really fast.

    3) EXTREMELY slow progress to a point where you might ask yourself: "why bother?".

    4) Almost non existent character customization (the current one is bullsh*t).

    5) Just one airship battle (why not include a space battle?).

    6) Reeks of and leaks EA's greed. It's so obvious EA (yet again) has released an incomplete game, to keep charging the gamers later on with DLC, that is almost obscene. It's disgusting. There is a 50 dollar Season Pass to stuff nobody knows the details and that will give content that could have been inside the original release (more maps, planets, heroes, modes).

I love and hate this game. Love it just because it's Star Wars and it's gorgeous. Hate it because it represents the WORST behaviour in this industry. EA will hang itself with its own rope. And I will be laughing on the day this happens.

Battlefront goes above and beyond in these places, but fails at putting enough content to make the game feel worthwhile. I've personally been using the same gun since I've started so I can have something to look forward later on in the game when I surely know it will become repetitive. Maps are great, but there aren't enough of them and there are only a few game modes worth spending time on. I hope Battlefront get's non-season pass support to keep regular players engaged in the game, because it's most importantly a very fun experience that is a dud in the content department. Expand

With the new film of the space opera saga finally on the big screen and the release of Battlefront's new sequel, both after a decade overdue, it is definitely the best time to be a Star Wars fan. The game itself is a dream-come-true for fans, and the Star Wars spectacle is strong in this one. However, if it is depth and longevity you seek... this is not the game you are looking for.

Spectacular production values help to make this game enjoyable in the early going, but it soon enough shows that it is painfully lacking in terms of maps and depth in its current form. [Issue#265, p.72]
