One of the biggest disappointments to video gaming ever, I was so excited about this one until they ruined it with loot boxes and greedy p2w garbage.
The single player doesn't hold the game up enough to justify the high cost of the game.

Represents the death of the gaming indiustry - pay $90 for the game, then gamble real money in the hopes of being able to win. No intention to create a good game, only an environment to lure players into spending real money.

This deal is getting worse all the time! Micro-transactions, loot boxes, and the cherry on top is a pathetic attempt to quiet down this drama by "temporarily" disabling these features. EA has broke the camel's back, and it's paying for it.

Absolutely horrible. Its a shame what EA (and Dice) have done with a wonderful franchise. Whilst the gameplay may be decent the game is spoiled by a microtransaction system that will make you want to return the game after a few hours in. We must take a stand!

So that is what gameing is about in 2017. EA let pay 60€ for a game and put the half of it behind another paywall. The campagin should be "something that was never seen before in Star wars"...really?! EA is kidding us all. As a Star wars and Gaming fan I hope that will be the last Star wars game that Comes from EA. Now they shut down the micro Transaction... sorry too late EA. Campaign is mediocre at best.

Voice acting is sub-par and gameplay isn't really all that engaging. There are also a good few sections of filler where you just kill stuff in waves, or follow someone. Both of these go towards trying to extend a stupidly short campaign. It's seriously way too short. Arcade mode is meh, and the game forces you away from it if you wish to progress at all

Arcade mode is meh, and the game forces you away from it if you wish to progress at all (5 scenarios for 500cr, then a 22 hour cool down.)

Multiplayer is beyond imbalanced when you're first starting, people dominate you with higher levelled cards. You can be using the same weapon and shoot first, and still lose a gun fight.

Pair all of the above with a terrible progression system and DICE have a lot to fix.

edit: as an addition to the above, DICE have removed the ability to purchase "Crystals" (the in game currency) temporarily. They have issued no clear statement as to how they will be fixing the game, but they have mentioned the crystals will be reintroduced at a later date (I'd give it around a month.)

I'd also take care to check whether reviews you watch on YouTube come from "EA Game Changers" who are paid by EA. You cannot take their reviews seriously as I do not believe they are impartial.

The loot box and "progression system" borders on predatory with how it pushes you towards micro transactions and pay to win elements. Essentially they want you to continue paying ridiculous amounts of money long after you bought the game + potential dlc later along the way.
Even seeing past this extremely customer unfriendly practice there is still the fact that in 2 years they could just turn off the server. So even if you spend 1000 Dollar + they might just be voided in a very short time. Why not allow people to run their own servers? Probably so you can sell them the next game and start the circle anew.

I repeat. DO NOT BUY this game. If you do, you are part of the problem. If you can live with all these negative elements then that is of course your choice, but complaining and then still buying it, will do nothing and effectively damage the game industry overall. You have power as a consumer and as a gamer. The power to say no and stand by it. The power to hopefully change the direction gaming companies like EA are taking and avoid ruining potentially great franchises in the future.

Me on the other hand didn't waste my money, I've spent $80 dollars on the game to pre-order it and actually like playing it, so get mad at me all you want you cant force someone to hate the game, i mean seriously its star wars made by DICE the creator of battlefield the best franchise made for a war game. So let me get back to Battlefront 2, the game hasn't even been out for a week and people are hating it, mainly cause of the micro-transactions. Guys how are they going to make money, the game has FREE DLC!!! I know a lot of you just hate me for saying these but its the truth in my point of view. I will never buy EA's games ever again they have traded away any scrap of credibility, the second they turned this into a pay to win, grind of an experience. Lootboxes are never appropriate in a premium game, not to mention the game is almost unplayable even without the microtransactions.

The insult to injury is that EA took out the pay to win parts and as they said temporarily just proving that despite constant backlash they still want to bleed the consumer for every penny they have. I feel bad for the developers at Dice that spent so much time creating a decently well made game and only now are having it ruined by the greedy practices by EA. I want to say that this game is amazing but just letting those terrible business practices slide is something I can't do.

I hope that EA learns from this or crashes and burns to teach the rest of the Gaming Market that the pay to win practices are not ok.

Overall: A great game if you also happen to enjoy casinos.

    Gameplay: Fun, fast-paced, exciting
Visuals: Great! The world is immersive and really takes you to the places in the SW universe.
    Sound Design: Perfect.

The team at Dice really outdid themselves. If it wasn't for EA trying to suck each and every last dollar out of their customers, this game might have actually done well.

To those who reviewed 10 to bring up the user score, you're one review is getting hammered by massive groups of people who want change in the gaming industry while you guys are completely fine with paying 100+ or 500+ on loot boxes for random loot you might already have to get a feel of satisfaction or a sense of accomplishment by being better than a person who bought just the base game but the truth is, you're not.

Those who support EA and other developers that are doing blatant P2W or charging more for content that should have already been added in the base game is apart of the problem. It's your money and you can use it however you wish but stop acting like paying for more stuff is some sort of accomplishment and its something to be proud of. Let me remind you of what you're getting, virtual items. They don't translate into the real world and that isn't something you can put on your resume.

EA is the worst offender of the bunch they make Activision look like Respawn, you want to keep acting like you're a superior person because you forked over hundreds of dollars into a game for a virtual item you might never get? knock yourself out but keep quiet when real gamers are trying to push for meaningful and actual change.

When its multiplayer I want to play against, other players in a somewhat level playing field. What I do not want, and I never will, is to be forced tolearn some in game economics to understand loads of different currencies. Just to get some basic stuff.

Jesus what a mess this game is. Like the third rate mobile games my kids sometimes stumbles upon on their mobiles, and I instantly stear them away from. Crystals, credits, star cards, loot boxes.
I dont want to have to understand that crap. I really dont. One currency is fine, but three? And next game its new crystals or gems or whatever just in different colors. Its childish and breaks immersion. Every single time. My god! Is it a casino or a shooter?

Keep it simple, and keep it fair. It cannot be that hard. And it isnt. This is just from greed. I honestly think greed is killing the AAA gaming industry one franchise at the time. In the long run that probably is bad for the share-holders of the companies as well. Not just gamers.

Stay away from this game people. Things need to change or we will be stuck with slot machines and cards in every single game, genre, time period and from all developers for all times to come.

Star Wars Battlefront II provides a greater ambition than the previous installment. It has powerful war scenes, a brand new single player mode, and shows a much more magnificent Star Wars Universe. But just like the Jedi should be ware of the dark side of the Force, this game also meets some similar situations, such as beleaguered microtransaction elements and character growth problems. The first 10 hours of this game is full of surprises; however, the further you play this game, the more disappointed you will get.
