    As each game comes out, the game gets a bit more crap. 21 shows both 2020 and 2019 signage for Christs sake. Screw paying full price for a player line up update.

    Trash! So many bugs and glitches. There is no new features and too much focus on the gimmicky “yard” mini game. No attention to actual football at all. For Simulation players and competitive players, this game is a HUGE disappointment. It has been copy and paste for the past 4 years. Incredibly disappointing. Madden is definitely one of my favorite franchises to play, but lately it hasTrash! So many bugs and glitches. There is no new features and too much focus on the gimmicky “yard” mini game.     I believe the last Madden I purchased was in 2017; I came from NCAA Football, but we all know what happened to that Franchise. I never liked Madden as I felt much of it was a rip off of NCAA Football (you know the copy and paste developing that's synonymous with Madden) and even continued playing NCAA 14 well after. I bought Madden 21 for FoF and haven't been able to play FoF or FranchiseI believe the last Madden I purchased was in 2017; I came from NCAA Football, but we all know what happened to that Franchise.     The same year after year after year. This game should be free, it's just a roster patch. They don't do fine even the technical things, it has a lot of bugs that doesn't even are gameplay related.

    i dont understand how they can make the SAME GAME, WORSE. i mean just dont touch the codes, just update the teams, player models and that's all. you don't need any programmers... just use the tools and update the game this is unbeliavable.

    Whatever you do, don't waste your money on this game. If you want to play simulation football, you're playing the wrong title. If you want to play this, just go get Madden 20. Its the same thing with different rosters. Or Madden 19, 18, 17, 16 or 15.

I just simply do not know how to rate it when taking into consideration that this game franchise is far behind other sports games. What is worse is that they don’t seem to care. On top of that the games released with many typos or errors when it came to Logos and player pictures, which just looked unprofessional. Now we get to the hard stuff, we’re still sold a game with terrible animations, and game mechanics. The tackling pursuit angles are just not there, the ball in the air pursuit is barely decent, the blocking assignments are not well executed, and the tackling is a bit iffy but not a huge concern because it at least looks pretty accurate. But honestly the hard things to incorporate are not even what disappoints me the most. It’s all the easy stuff they can incorporate that upsets me and leads this community to believe that they’re not being heard.… Expand

    To anyone that hasn’t played this game I would genuinely recommend picking up a copy of madden 15, playing it for a couple hours, and just imagining what this exact same experience would look like with slightly more polished graphics.

    The lack of innovation is genuinely criminal. It beggars belief that despite a whole year of massive criticism for years of no innovation, EA Sports still has the guile to just laugh in the consumers face and do exactly what they’ve done for the last 6 iterations of this game.

    So much so that even the gameplay, which was already frustratingly lacking and subpar, is suffering to the point where this game is now genuinely not enjoyable.

    I don’t think I’ll be buying this series again until there’s genuine meaningful change. What a shame, these games used to be fantastic.    … Expand

    It's plagued by bugs, the Ai is some of the worst I've ever seen in a sports game, the monetization is like always pure and utter scamming, and even the developers don't give a **** anymore! My advice avoid this game like the plague it so clearly is!!

    I knew it was literally the same game when I threw a fake punt in the first game I played to a wide open guy and he bobbled it for 5 seconds before dropping it. Like dude, please fix these annoying things and actually put effort into the game.

While technology progress somehow EA manages to go backwards. For example look at the career mode! Now compare it to something from 10 years ago, less content, not exciting, and bland.     I think most of the people reviewing this game haven’t played it. There are gameplay improvements which are noticeable and welcome additions. Personally I haven’t experienced many bugs. I have had a few crashes though. The Yard is very fun and a good addition. Franchise and MUT are both unchanged. Overall, the game is pretty good and fun, outside a few minor bugs.

Errors happen constantly when you attempt to load into online games that force you to close the application .Glitches are rampant, in multiple game modes if you can even get into the game without the application crashing you cant run pass plays from gun or pistol or it subs out the offensive coordinator. Man coverage isalso still nearly useless. Any outbreaking route gets anyone beat by 5 steps every time. Zone is worse, defenders still dont cover far enough to the sideline on outside zones and any defender no matter their zone rating will just abondon their zone at random. CPU defenders overrun the ball constantly and cant take angles they just run straight at where the ball is on run plays. Fade routes still dont work correctly. Pass interference is still hardly ever called, they even added new animations where the defender blatantly holds the reciever to keep them from going for a jump ball and its not a penalty. QBs in squads will miss passes dispite the game saying the passes are accurate. QBs get rid of the ball way too quickly. Theyll throw dimes 40 yards downfield with a dude draped on their back. Sometimes their arm wont even move and theyll drop it on the hit and its ruled an incomplete pass. Players still fairly often just dont react to a ball thrown right at them. Those are just a few things off the top of my head. The game is a broken unrealistic mess and people only still buy it because of the nfl lisence.… Expand

They provide new and old bugs alike and rarely address any of them with any amount of apparent concern.     It's apparent the studio's attention was spent on figuring out how to monetize modes and systems more than ever. The game lacked any focus on providing the best gameplay and simulation of football, it's almost like an afterthought. The game lacked any focus on providing the best gameplay and simulation of football, it's almost like an afterthought. The mechanics appear to be more in line with casino games; blatant and concealed attempts to force people to mindlessly "grind" for items that are very much in the same code of the game you paid $60 for. However, to EA's credit they do provide a fastpass of sorts to skip the grind and get your customizable "moss" uniform you've been waiting years for...but at a fair price of $9.99. For the sake of clarity, when I referenced the "moss" uniform, I wasn't referring to a uniform inspired by arguably one of the best wide receivers to play the game, Randy Moss, but instead it was inspired by the non-vascular plants that typically form dense green clumps or mats, often in damp or shady locations. In short, this is a terrible attempt at making a simulation football game especially when you consider that the "Franchise" mode has seen very little changes, let alone improvements since the start of frostbite engine iterations. This trend of the studio forcing gambling and mobile game mechanics in order gain additional revenue streams seems lucrative for them but as a long time fan, the attempts to manipulate its user base to spend more has become acutely grating and blatantly disrespectful. Unfortunately, the majority of the user base is susceptible to these tactics and this paradigm will not change until they no longer hold the exclusivity license from the NFL, thus allowing competition, or government regulation is enacted that protects consumers from unfair, deceptive, or abusive acts and practices, an example is the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010 to reform financial practices. I hate that it would have to take a monumental change just for the slight chance that the gameplay from NCAA 2012 may come back in some form, whether it be Madden or not, and the chances of that happening is causing me existential dread. I'd happily part ways with my hard-earned money for that game but in the case of Madden 21, I'd recommend to hold on to yours and wait for Cyberpunk 2077.… Expand

    This game is absolutely terrible!! No redeeming qualities at all. Worst Madden game to date. Face of the franchise QB1 stats are all 96 and above, scrambler archetype and I get rundown From behind for a loss by defensive lineman 9 out of 10. Just pure garbage.

    I regret pre-ordering this game the worst game I have played. They have taken features out and the game is full of glitches. The animation s are terrible the game hardly represents the game of football. Absolute disgrace I'm never buying a EA GAME EVER AGAIN

    Wasn’t surprised at how trash this games was. Borrowed it from a friend. Played 10 min was done. How can they put something like this out anymore. Done with Madden. Remember when it used to be good?

    This game has never been as buggy as it is now. They can't even get basic stuff to work properly. EA are the only devs allowed to make a simulation game, but madden 21 is more arcade-like now more than it's ever been. You can't even call it a simulation game anymore.

    Madden NFL 21 is another blatant recycling of last year’s edition of the „simulation“ of the American football. Sadly, most of the modes remained the same. Gameplay received a few minor tweaks, and in the end it still persists as a cash grab not worth anybody’s time.

    For NFL diehards, there remains hundreds of gaming hours at your disposal in Madden 21. These same diehards – much like players of EA’s NHL and Sony’s The Show – will be left with the impression they’ve played this game before, however.
