    I dont rate games on here but I've never seen this in a sports game. I played for 10 hours and there is literally NO discernible update from last year. I played MUT last year and thought it was okay. I was even excited for this year but I'm glad I have EA access and didnt buy it because this is a worse game then last year. Exact same gameplay...worse menu's...worse card design...more bugs

    It's the same game as last year. Only insignificant changes where made. Added a non-NFL player to the game. Should worry more about making the game better instead of making it political.

    This is without a doubt the worst madden game of all time. Way too many glitches. Franchise is the same as last year. FOTF has some of the worst writing you will ever find in any game. Stay very from far from this hot garbage. EA should be ashamed and embarrassed.

    My opinion the game is a little bit better than 20 but madden 21 is not that great. The game feels more like a arcade then simulation. Like for example, when you get a first down the fans in the stadium scream “first down” just like they do on superstar KO which nobody on earth will say that at a NFL game. And the pass rush system can be very overpowering as well.

    I thought that Madden NFL 20 was a step in the right direction for EA's exclusive football game. The gameplay was drastically improved from '19 and franchise mode received some notable additions, but Madden NFL 21 did not move in the same direction as it's predecessor. There are too many bugs, franchise mode is exactly the same, and ultimate team is completely pay-to-win, as per usual. EAI thought that Madden NFL 20 was a step in the right direction for EA's exclusive football game. The gameplay was drastically improved from '19 and franchise mode received some notable additions, but Madden NFL 21 did not move in the same direction as it's predecessor. There are too many bugs, franchise mode is exactly the same, and ultimate team is completely pay-to-win, as per usual.     The game has no improvements from Madden 20. Political messages everywhere, Franchise mode literally untouched, and now multiple microtransaction modes in the game The Yard and Ultimate Team. EA has shown they do not care again.

    It has so many bugs and issues, The game play actually got worse. It is extremely disappointing. Considering they stopped working on Madden 20 w/ 3-4 months to go in the cycle to work on Madden 21 and they were able to create a worse product. Do not recommend. Do not buy.

    Trash!!! COD is cool but then they ruin it by brining back the super user picks. Franchise has been trash and is still trash. How can a billion dollar company not get the simplest football concepts right??? Save your money! Receivers don't animate. Game is super buggy. I'm just blown away at how they could put out such a bad product year in and year out.

    The game has so many bugs it’s ridiculous. The skill gap is nowhere to be found. The gameplay is atrocious. No improvements from last year. And franchise mode is untouched. Yard has glitches and it’s clear EA only put some effort into ultimate team which is a terrible thing.

It has virtually non-existent change year to year and only minor graphic enhancements.     I’ve been buying Madden every year since 1996. Never have given it a bad review. Now I’m never going to buy this game EVER again. Instead I will spend my “Madden” time trashing the piece of crap game that it is before taking a knee on EA Sports/Madden forever. Thanks for the wake up call.

Everything needs to be reinvented especially the physics of the run game and way people are tackled. Repent! You are a monopoly in this space. You’ve become cheap and lazy. I am a 3D animator who understands the work it takes to develop something great. But,EA must do better. I’ve been a fan for over a decade but this isn’t the one. You need to change the entire game. AI is atrocious and game takes away the user control and physics that they promote for animations that literally defy physics a large amount of the time. They hold a monopoly on the NFL simulation, yet refuse to make a simulation game mode. The offline game play is lagging. This is the worse I have ever seen madden. While it does feel smoother than 20, all the bugs is unforgiving to the gameplay.… Expand

    Absolute dumpster fire. Fixed QB throwing animation and nerfed OP linebackering bugs only to provide another series of in game issues. They must not have a mathematician on staff because even Atari programmers understood simple concepts like vectoring. This game is nothing more than meta exploits and micro transactions. I would be embarrassed to be a part of the design team for this game

Game's buggy, glitchy, and scripted. If you want a true football experience, play NFL 2K5 or even Madden 05. Madden devs put no effort into the game while working from home other than adding a new scoreboard, rookies, and a mode called ‘The Yard’ which they claim 17 mil ppl are playing to get rid of all the criticism they are facing. NFL better drop EA and give 2K a chance to make a game. EA has their **** head up their ass in MUT and how much they can make off of it that they forget about all the modes until we bring it up. I hope Clint Oldenburg loses his job and everyone who claims they worked on Madden 21 as this game makes Madden 19 look like Madden 08 on PS2.… Expand

Franchise mode is abysmally horrible and ignored - formation subs are impossible to use, you can only sign free agents to 1 year deals during the season, the draft is boring and they majorly decreased the ratings of all rookies coming out - there are 4 or 5 “okay” players in each draft (essentially making rounds 2-7EA continues to regress each year. The game was more fun to play in 2007. Franchise mode is abysmally horrible and ignored - formation subs are impossible to use, you can only sign free agents to 1 year deals during the season, the draft is boring and they majorly decreased the ratings of all rookies coming out - there are 4 or 5 “okay” players in each draft (essentially making rounds 2-7 superfluous), no training camp or offseason progression (not to mention that you can only progress players by certain archetypes which feels entirely unrewarding), and there’s even more that just makes this mode drab and boring. EA continues to ignore quality, instead only investing in the modes that have micro transactions. Madden 21 is a continuation of the way EA takes advantage of their monopoly on football games - leaving people to buy product that hasn’t changed much in well over 5 years just because they love football. In response to well-deserved criticism, EA has tried to maneuver out of admitting their fault, and just recently added in Colin Kaepernick to virtue signal and pander - inflating his stats egregiously (the last time he was in Madden he was a 76, and now he is mysteriously an 81, seemingly becoming a better quarterback over the four years he hasn’t played any competitive football) and insulting the upset masses who just want a decent product that at least works half-right. Face of the Franchise is a ridiculous mode, that is outright painful to play through. There are some who may be content to play the arcade style modes like Superstar KO or The Yard, but anyone looking for a simulation football experience will be vastly disappointed. Seriously, Madden 2007 was 1000 times more playable. I hope the NFL will reconsider their exclusive license with EA at some point, after seeing the disastrous handling of the game. Or maybe some executive at EA will finally listen to the thousands of people who hate this game experience and get rid of the entire department to hire some people who actually care. They probably won’t, because people will always buy football games no matter how bad it gets. This particular addition of the Madden series is especially insulting.… Expand

    Somehow worse than last year. Audible bugs on kickoffs, again. Motion doesn’t work in some formations. New, more confusing pre-snap defensive options. Random button misfires. Very buggy. Again. Refunded. Oh and they added a controversial Quarterback who hasn’t played in four years and he’s better than half the league's starters. BUT THEY ADDED HIM AFTER EVERYONE BOUGHT THE GAME. Cowards.

Free games like America’s Army Proving Grounds and Realm Royale have faster response times in the menus. It’s **** ridiculous the amount of time it takes to load when simply going from the lineup screen to the auction house. And same with the pause menu in game. That combined with many bugs, unrealistic player movements, a lack of content in ultimate team, constant server outages, and the ridiculously bogus balance between the highest overall players in the game against low gold cards in solo challenges. Cards with 70 speed are somehow catching up to receivers and running backs with speeds in the high 80’s to 90’s. As for mut points and packs, I don’t have a problem with micro transactions. I have a problem with micro changes being made to the game every year that don’t affect the realism of the gameplay. When professional football players analyze the game and conclude the movements are completely unrealistic (especially linebackers and offensive lineman) to how an actual NFL game would go is all the proof you need to know the last many maddens are not at all an accurate football simulation.     two reasons:

    1.) EA makes dishonest disingenuous games, equivalent to purposely holding back content every year to milk that money

    2.) kapernick in the game with a 81 rating is truly embarrassing. The dude was rated 76 his last year in the game 4-5 years ago! He got better after getting woke for 5 years? he got benched for playing like hot garbage with the niners

    Madden has failed to keep up with the times. Each year, the franchise puts out the same product and every year, EA expects you to pay another $70 for updated rosters and the same terrible game play.

    Online play has been reduced to a bunch of kids that watch YouTube and try to exploit one offensive play and one defensive play. If you can shut down that one offensive play (generally Pats    Madden has failed to keep up with the times. Each year, the franchise puts out the same product and every year, EA expects you to pay another $70 for updated rosters and the same terrible game play.

    Online play has been reduced to a bunch of kids that watch YouTube and try to exploit one offensive play and one defensive play. If you can shut down that one offensive play (generally Pats Verts or a sweep), the kids will quit in the first quarter. There is literally no skill of any kind involved in this game. It literally becomes "can you stop the other guy's one offensive play?" While this makes it very easy to win games (via forfeit), it simply is no fun. Who cares if you are 50-25 for example when half of those wins were over in the first quarter?

    Madden Ultimate team also continues to gain complexity as EA tries to suck every dollar out of its customers through microtransactions. This only empowers the lower skilled players to use their one play and then invest in Tyreek Hill and some power ups to further exploit the game's inherent "gimmicks."

    Madden NFL 21 is another blatant recycling of last year’s edition of the „simulation“ of the American football. Sadly, most of the modes remained the same. Gameplay received a few minor tweaks, and in the end it still persists as a cash grab not worth anybody’s time.
