    I cannot speak on all the different modes because I havent finished the Face of the franchise mode yet and usually do that first thing. Unfortunately that mode has one disappointment after another! The mode starts you off in high school and you make your way up from there and they start off strong with a rival that you bicker and babble with but then everything crumbles, your rival decides to join you at the same school to fight you for redemption and regardless of how well you do, the coach eventually gives the job to the rival either way and you can choose to change positions and stay (which isnt a realistic choice) or go to the nfl which is where I got excited. But instead of letting you play whichever games you want at that point it forces you to play your division rival over and over,. I literally played 8 out of 12 nfl games against the green bay packers. Here you would think the rival from college would get drafted and join your rival team....nope they never mention him again. They just give you some nonsense reason you should be excited to play the same team again. O this guy is hurt can you beat them while they are down a man? Obviously. Now the injured player is back and is talking trash so we replay the team again. I kid you not, one season I was only given the two games against green bay thinking they were huge games but, nope, we were 3rd in our division and they were 4th. It is like someone said "let's see how plain and generic we can make this game and still get people to buy it." I think the team that makes madden is literally 3 guys tasked with copying and pasting 95% of the code from the previous year and adding one new mode which does nothing but draws fans to buy to try and then leave disappointed yet again!… Expand

    Same game. Same problems. Nothing new. Microtransaction hell. EA has put a gun to the head of the Madden franchise and executed this series. Sad. This series used to be a lot of fun and had fond memories playing it for hours with my brother and Dad as a kid.

    Dammit EA, I've had every Madden since Sega Genesis days, blowing out the cartridge to work, I know how to juke, because juke and stiff arm are the only ball carrier moves I've been using for over 20 years and got excellent with...     They have just changed a few tiny details from the last 4 maddens, added more and more micro transactions and haven't improved the game or franchise mode one bit. It is just rinse and repeat for this game. Won't be buying the next version.

    Madden 21. It's just Madden 20. For the past five years or so Madden has been forcing this **** down our throats. No matter how bad Ultimate Team is, it's the same game. I honestly feel sorry for whoever actually enjoys it because they are brain dead and pathetic zombies to EA Sports.

    Can we have NFL 2k back?! The developer says "2 out of 5 stars is good enough and better than 1." You have to be kidding me... This is why I no longer "Invest" in sports games. Competition is needed in order to prevent laziness. Bring 2K back!... Bring 2K back!

    Two may be better than one, but anything is better than this game. Less mechanics than before, same cut scenes as as the last five, and as many glitches as fallout 76. This game isn`t a good football game in the slightest.

    Madden continues to remove things I love from the game to support micro-transactions and to sell card packs. I use to buy Madden every year and I've finally see the light. I'm done, bring back building stadiums and deep create a player and put some effort on franchise mode.

    I have owned every Madden game since the first one they released on Sega Genesis. The only one I didn't play is the very first one they released for Mac before Genesis. I am sad to say I am officially done with Madden. Year after year they keep recycling trash and 21 is the one that broke the camels back. Fixed your Franchise EA. So sick of your cash grabs

    Getting your 60 bucks changed into coins at the bank then counting it all out for every purchase you make for the next few days at the register while people get angry at you for holding the line would be a much more desirable experience than this game.

    TL;DR: you are better off buying an actual football and calling up some friends.

    As someone who loved playing Madden as a kid, it is really disappointing to see the lack of progress over the last few years, particularly on franchise mode which has been terrible for too long. I certainly wont be buying another Madden Game until things start actually progressing.

    Great characters and story. I felt really connected with the main character troughout the story. The combat is great too. It does need more microtransactions, i want to lose even more money. Right now i have lost my house, my car, my family and my dog because i had to sell/ they left because i spend all my money on madden. Great fun!

    EA screws up by not properly optimizing the game for PS4 and XBox 1 so it lags like crazy. We're talking about a triple A game that makes millions of dollars for EA yet it's full of bugs that make the game unplayable. It had potential but not being able to kick the ball because of lag killed any potential.

    I don’t think the game can get any worse like first of all the time that I’m writing this I can’t play the yard online and I haven’t been able to play ultimate team online for the entire week the games been out. It’s sad that the only modes that you can play online is superstar and exhibition which are just copy and pastes from madden 20.

    This game really is just a roster update with some changes to run game animations. THAT IS ALL. Then EA tried to mask the lack of changes by including some juvenile mode called "The Yard." That was such a joke.

    Why is it that Madden 06 had a deeper franchise mode with more fun features than the Xbox One generation of franchise mode? It's appalling. EA sports needs to fire everyone responsible for Madden 21's vision. I feel embarrassed to tell people I was stupid enough to buy this.

    I would trade it back in but I don't want this disk to be sold a second time. That would be 2 more times that it deserves to be sold.    … Expand

From the glitches that cause the clock to speed up without you telling it to, online gameplay that results in finding the most overpowered glitch to make your opponents players dumb out instead of actual football concepts. I cant understand how this game can be put into the market in this state...

    **** crashes all the time and is glitchy as hell. I find myself having to reboot the game all the time. The Yard is fun but glitches out all the time.

    Horrible. Same game every year. Why pay 60 bucks for a roster update? Bring back real create a team which allowed for full customization of teams and stadiums.

    This has to be one of my worst investment. I thought FIFA was bad, but this is just atrocious. Bugs everywhere, and slow as a tortoise. Its no different to madden 20, and the executives think they rolled out the best game ever.

    I keep seeing people saying how hating Madden is cool now. It's not, it's just become the general consensus. Just like how Reese's have become amazing, due to a general consensus. Riddled with microtransactions. While I guess there's some positives, the fact of the matter is, they neglected Franchise mode, WHICH IS WHAT THEY HAVE THE EXCLUSIVE LICENSE TO MAKE, to work on an arcade game. EA has the exclusive license to make NFL games. Yet they neglect the actual simulation aspect and create an arcade mode instead. Face of the franchise? Perhaps one of the worst things I've ever seen. The story makes no sense, not to mention the fact that almost every single game before the NFL doesn't matter, because you're going to the NFL no matter what, no matter how you play. And even if you're patrick mahomes, you'll get benched for a dude with a heart condition. What. How can a man with a heart condition, WHO ALMOST PASSES OUT TWICE, play football. EA has Lied to me way to many times for me to even think about giving them my hard earned money anymore. The poor quality of the gameplay gets worse each yr with Bugs and Glitchs and Gawd Awful cutscenes. Franchise Mode has been Trashed on, the biggest reason many why madden fans bought the game. Same superbowl ending, Never added coachs HC/ Oc/ Dc/ Sc and just all around stale and same experience. The other half of madden fans wanted a career mode.. What do we get Story Mode in a SPORTS GAME. Each yr we will tell EA sports what we want in the game and all they do is add **** we never wanted.     Gameplay: 1/10
    The gameplay is smooth but the AI is brain dead and also scripting and awful gameplay without reading the NFL playbooks or NFL rulebook.

    Graphics: 6/10
    EA Sports cares about the graphics but the 4 or 5 faces is the same and the larger nose is uglier than 4 or 5 faces.

    Superstar KO Mode: 5/10
    A little bit adding new abilities and the rest is the same. But the only problem that it removes because there is not KO abilities for kickers and punters.

    Presentation: 2/10

    I've played madden since madden 2004. This game is just terrible. Cinematics are recycled, franchise mode is still a corpse. They literally just want you to spend money on ultimate team or grind for hours to just be "decent" its honestly garbage. Do not buy

    Madden NFL 21 is another blatant recycling of last year’s edition of the „simulation“ of the American football. Sadly, most of the modes remained the same. Gameplay received a few minor tweaks, and in the end it still persists as a cash grab not worth anybody’s time.
