    Just trash - pass it please. It is a scar on the Fallout universe body.
    I hope this game wont bury the universe. I hope Bethesda will give this franchise to people, that know what to do. I hope to see New Vegas again...

    Expect your typical Bethesda open-world issues.     I played Fallout 76 for about 3 hours then returned to Fallout New Vegas.
    Bethesda simply did everything i dislike in a video-game. Next.

    Fallout 76 might have been an okay release for 2008... for 2018 it's pathetic. Even if I was excited for the direction Bethesda chose to take with this - which I wasn't - the implementation is just so god awful that I honestly feel really REALLY bad for the people who worked on this game, because this is just an abomination and it'll rightly go down in gaming history as an astronomicalFallout 76 might have been an okay release for 2008... for 2018 it's pathetic. Maybe as a free to play game I wouldn't be so critical but this is a bad rehash of Fallout 4 that has been released in the alpha phase of development. The fact that there have been 2 updates exceeding 40gb each since launch is just disgusting abuse of patching showing how unfinished this game is.     This is just a shame. It is shocking how one could make such a mess of a different incompatible genres and game mechanics and implement them in the worst way possible without any second thought.     My god.. where do i even start? The game is a complete mess. Gameplay is still not satisfying because of the same old engine, tons of reused models and animations (even from Skyrim), the story doesn't even deserve to be called story (there are MMO's with better story during simple faction missions) and there is absolutely no soul to be found. Todd Howard said that they love the GamebryoMy god.. where do i even start? The game is a complete mess. Todd Howard said that they love the Gamebryo engine because it's super easy and fast to create things (at the cost of texture quality). Fallout 76 seems to be take this ideology to a whole new level. Quantity over quality in every single aspects. The fact that most players don't seem to want to play with strangers and absurd ways to grief players (primarily involving the C.A.M.P. system) makes the experience even worse. I wanted to give the beta a try because i was really skeptical about this game and boy did it strengthen that believe. Achievements/Trophies related to the story also don't carry over from the beta according to Pete Hines which is a **** joke. The entire advertising point of the beta was that you could gain an advantage over others by playing early and carrying your progress over. Now you need to make a new character anyway if you want to get the story trophies. As i've already said, this game is a mess in every single aspect. It's one of the worst games in the "so mediocre that it's just functional and nothing more" category.… Expand

    Bethesda had it coming. Their games have been rubbish since Skyrim, they have been dining out on that for 7 years now. Fallout 4 was rubbish, and this is just a retread of that.

    Here's why:

    I am a huge fan of the franchise. I got the game pre-order and cancelled during the Beta, because it was poor in both what I saw and not worth £60 when compared to Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption 2 which released within the month of 76, there's an epic void of quality between the two.

    Within 9 days 76 was on sale at half price. A reflection of its actual value. Make no mistake, this is not an original game, I've put in a good 40+ hrs and it's just a poor mans FO4. The AI is actually worst than FO4, honestly, it's really, really bad, and alone this beautiful yet empty world feels boring.
    With NPCs missing, the story is a fetch quest style Go To that only morons could possibly appreciate, logging in to a terminal to read and read then go to next place, pick up tape and listen and listen - it's all so hollow. Where are the characters... oh ...that's right "we are the NPCs" ...no, we're really not.
    In 40+ hrs my encounters have mostly been people running away from me, people waving and trying to give me free stuff, or me shooting people and them logging off / jumping to a new server. There's such poor PVP mechanics, that I wonder why they added it at all - and it's your fault, the solo players that whined when 76 was announced that they didn't want to be bothered by other players - well - they made a game so poor, such bad mechanics that if after a month of logging in your still going, you are alone as everyone else is bored mindless.
    Bethesda's desire to use such an old engine really shows when compared to other PS4 titles in 2018. The animations are 100% from FO4, the boss is from Skyrim, and they released this as a full price game.

    Bugs - seriously - from enemies appearing in walls, items causing crashes, workstations causing crashes and crashes just crashing - this is a total mess. I'm on PS Pro and it's dogsh1t.

    What Bethesda could have done:

    Released the game at £20 as 'early access'. Fixed bugs gradually. Added actual content. Not focused on a bizarre Atom store whereby you spend £20 for an emoji and santa hat. Released it with PVP or PVE servers for players. Let more people on a server. Given it a real story. Kept with lore from previous titles. Given it to another developer to make.

    Overall it really as bad as people say. I thought at half price I'd try it after completing RDR2, but I still want my £30 back. I got 9-10 months out of Ark online, and expected to get at least 2-3 out of 76, but it is so boring, so so boring. I've 68 PSN friends and 1 other played 76 - we hooked up once and had a fun evening - but that's because we have fun in any game, not because of 76. There's players out there trying to collect all the blueprints, trying to get higher level legendries - WHY ? Will a better gun make others want to pvp? Will having a new table type make the base building any more fun? No... your grinding your time out on a crap experience. I'd recommend ARK or any online PVP or even ESO over this ...     I played Fallout 1 at launch in '97 in college. Same with Fallout 2. When 3, came out I was mesmerized for over 100 hours. Then in Fallout 4, they ruined it with a needless base building mechanic. In 76, they remove everything that was ever good about the Fallout series, the story, the NPCs, the tactical combat, everything... replacing it with tedious exploration, junk gathering, lameI played Fallout 1 at launch in '97 in college. Same with Fallout 2. When 3, came out I was mesmerized for over 100 hours. Then in Fallout 4, they ruined it with a needless base building mechanic. Thank god I rented this turd first so now I can return my unopened Power Armor edition. I'd rather play Assassin's Creed Odyssey which a far better and more playable RPG. Hell, I'd rather play the Spyro re-make than this rubbish rubbish collecting sim. I've played a better version of this game, it's called Minecraft.… Expand

    Bethesda banned people for using graphic improvement mods and ask them to write essays about why it's so bad. A company. From which you PURCHASED a product. Ban you from using a product you paid for. A product you DID NOT misused. And ask you to write a **** schoolyard essay about why you are a bad person in their eyes.

    This is not a game, just a cash grab product of marketing. There is no Todd Howars in it, just his name. It is broken, ugly and pointless. Hope Bethesda will change their approach, after this absolute disaster. If you truly care for the future of Fallout, I beg of you, don't buy this product! P.S. Even a mere thought, that we could get something like New Vegas brings tears to my eyes(((

    When Digital Chumps posted their review this late you know it was only to catch some views for being the only unique green. With a game like Oblivion I get taking a week or two, but not with this scumbag game. Just read it (or at least try to) and you will see they also did it to bring up the game out of the red status. They are definitely living up to their name of 'chumps.'

    Whether you're playing this with friends or alone it defiently is a hit. The world is rich and huge, challenging enemies, smart AI, and a sense of realistic survivability. The perk card system is a great twist on the previous perk system. The gun modification system has been greatly improved and is more rewarding. The CAMP feature is fun, creative, and relaxing. The story and quests areWhether you're playing this with friends or alone it defiently is a hit. The world is rich and huge, challenging enemies, smart AI, and a sense of realistic survivability. The perk card system is a great twist on the previous perk system. The gun modification system has been greatly improved and is more rewarding. The CAMP feature is fun, creative, and relaxing. The story and quests are actually clever thought out and more indepth than what one would think at first look. And the community is friendly, helpfull, and overall what a good community should be like. Theres room for imporvements of course, but all games have that.     The game is void of any life, there is nothing to do, no NPC's, there's nothing, its just one big grind, its not even an MMO, to call this an MMO it would require story and towns and NPC's to give quests, but its nothing of the sort, its a blatant insult to the fans, Get it together Bethesda.

Not quite sure exactly where the enjoyment is meant to come from. It's not on steam because the developers/publishers didn't want the convenience of refunding to be available to consumers.     One of the worst games I ever played in 3 decades. Its pretty much a scam. Only good thing I got out of it was the helmet from the collectors edition (lets forget about the nylon bag).

    I'm rating this a zero for the simple fact that Bethesda is so out of touch with what gamers want. They should take lessons from Rockstar and CD Projekt Red. Fallout 76 is not what gamers want.

    Fallout 76 feels like a sandbox without any sand. There is no direction, nothing to do, nothing to achieve or discover. A big empty boring world, as your copy of the world is instanced and only contains a handful of people. Nothing you do is persistent or has any impact. Interaction with other players is very limited.

    It's hard to say that this even can be classified as a game. It is more of a 3D map that you can wander from place to place, interrupted by server connection issues, or worse dropped from server only to find your progress for the past ten minutes erased and you are starting from a point far from where you were. I've spent about 30 hours so far TRYING to find something interesting. Spending $60 for a game and having it be mundane and boring with little to interest me, while being inundated by bugs, intentional limits by the developers, and a sheer sense of discouragement as to what I should do in the map (can't call it a game). Loved Fallout 3, 4 and New Vegas, can't find anything to love about this...well wasteland is the best term for it. You should at least be able to set the dumpsters on fire in this game to give it a true symbolic gesture as to what this game is and where you just threw your money at.… Expand

    This is incredible in the worst way. Bought the game on Disc just to realise that this leads to a 55Gb Download which took ages to complete. Played it the last two days, the graphics are horrible and did´t change a bit since ..?? Fallout 3??, the gameplay mechanics still suck. The world is big but terribly empty. Base Building is so limited that it doesn´t feel fun anymore. Enemy AI seemsThis is incredible in the worst way. Bought the game on Disc just to realise that this leads to a 55Gb Download which took ages to complete. Played it the last two days, the graphics are horrible and did´t change a bit since ..?? Fallout 3??, the gameplay mechanics still suck. The world is big but terribly empty. Base Building is so limited that it doesn´t feel fun anymore. No cutting trees, or bashing rocks to get basics. The perk system is an even more simplified terrible version of what we got in fallout 4, which was already a terrible system to begin with. VATS has been completely destroyed to a short lived auto aim.

    Honestly, this game is a pure insult to the Fallout franchise, and in genuinely feels like Bethesda started making the game, got bored half way through and went, meh, release it like that no one will care. there is nothing redeeming about this game, even being able to do some things with your friends doesn't save this at all.    … Expand

    Wow, people have unloaded with both barrels on bethesda and rightfully so.

    I must say I haven't played this garbage and probably never will, just watched it on twitch for a few hours. Since Fallout 4, I vowed to never give any money to bethesda until I see a few hours of the game on either twitch or youtube. I played Fallout 3 and NV and was a big fan of the series, but not anymore.

    It was perfectly understood this was going to be terrible within a week of its announcement the moment the "game" was identified as being online required. Bethesdas history has shown that every location they have used related to Fallout they have done a terrible job of representing. It is no surprise that Bethesda's (who happens to be located in Maryland) depiction of West Virginia would be just as bad as any other media depiction of the state. It was made clear when the first glimpses of the map started to surface that showed locations from the state in complete disarray. West Virginia University in the middle of the map, The Greenbriar hotel just south of Charleston, and the most egregious of which is that Vault 76 is effectively located in Ohio relative to other WV landmarks on the map.

    That same level of attention to detail is present in every aspect of the game.

    While this is supposed to be a radioactive wasteland, the reality is the biggest nuclear threat is the size of technical bugs you will have to squash to keep it running consistently.

    The mechanical gameplay is functionally just a modified copy of Fallout 4, carbon copied complete with the same sort of technical bugs that Bethesda has made a corporation out of selling. The only difference is the nature of content in the game is structured around online multiplayer akin to Left 4 Dead with its 4 player Squad format. It also bears a strong resemblance to Overkills The Walking Dead in that format where what little narrative exposition is told in these "quests".

    The amazing thing is the decision to distill the primary gameplay of Bethesda that amounts to a janitor simulator where by your existence is little more than picking up a gigantic wasteland sandbox of useless garbage and sorting it into more manageable piles.

    In the end Fallout 76s fate is already sealed. Its online requirement means that it is being developed no differently than the ridiculous amount of online required console games out there, all of which are now available for 10$ or less because they have no long term value. Another Titanfall, Destiny, Dead by daylight, For Honor, Evolve, Ark, etc that has been the plague of this console generation.

    It is exclusively for a very specific type of person. Essentially it is filler material for the average ethlete who needs a break from COD type of top of the heap FPS shooter between the time they have already burnt through the current installments content and when the next late fall release comes out. It might keep its head above water for a while but people may play for a couple of weeks and move on to what ever the next new thing is once they burn through the majority of the content. Basically locust gamers.

    Honestly when it comes to gameplay it is nothing different than you have not already seen from Bethesda at least a half dozen times before between TES, Fallout, Dishonored and the rest of their primary titles. The only real difference being in those games there is actually a decent amount of narrative and content. This is another "Games as a service" model that asks players to buy an incomplete product on the promise that there is a schedule of content coming despite the reality that it may or may not ever materialize in enough time before the early adopters burn through the content and get bored and move on.

    So given that there is so much wrong with the model, given that there is so much wrong with the product, and given that you wont be missing out on things you have almost certainly already done dozens of times before, Save your money and help the industry by rejecting this anti consumer model.    … Expand

Fans have finally had enough of Bethesda using a 12 year old engine with the same bugs present in Fallout 76 as were present in The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, If Bethessda continue to use this engine for TES 6 and Starfield then they are finished, especially if they continue to implement paid mods and micro-transactions which Petey boy insists are mini DLCs when in fact they are paid mods.

    My final point is I am also marking this game down due to the people who sold us this rubbish being quiet, I have not heard a peep from Mr Sweet Little Lies Todd Howard or Petey boy regarding Fallout 76 and this is upsetting as it is a huge middle finger to the fanbase that supported them for years and looked past that typical Bethesda charm ( and by charm I mean every single one of their titles using the creation engine or some form of it releasing as one big mess of bugs which the modding community fixes for them and if your on console dont expect a fix for those bugs as Bethesda will be too lazy to do it themselves.

    What a piece of **** game. I am getting constant kicked out and the servers is down and i lose all progress. And when i get logged in i am spawn in the middle of 10 enemies that instant kill me.     Just the name. A reason for Bethesda to get more money. Same bad engine, even worst because of it being online. Unfinished and unpolished. Don't touch this even with a stick.

    It is still a pay-2-win game that is NOT free-2-play and ALSO requires monthly subscription to enjoy without constant frustration and feeling you are playing some cheap free-2-play mobile MMO

    An utter disgrace that Fallout 76 was released in the state its in. Full of bugs that are tied to the archaic Creation engine.
    No npc's mediocre combat, unstable and full price on top of all that, despite it being nothing more than a Fallout 4 reskin.

    The game is incredibly bland and soulless. In addition it is full of bugs and glitches. Clearly this game isn't worth the $60 for a half finished boring game. Total mess, not worth hard earned cash.

    So utterly disappointing and flawed in every possible way… The first few hours, most of it can be ignored, and occasionally the flaws can be forgotten, but only briefly before they come storming back to the forefront. An awful, boring, empty, pointless experience. There is, however, a glimmer of hope. It's worth mentioning that there has already been a Bethesda title that was equally as unimpressive: The Elder Scrolls Online - but looking at it now, it has transformed into one of the best MMOs out there. There's always the hope the Fallout 76 develops the same way and becomes something special, but for now, that seems impossible. It's a world away from that.

    Fallout 76 isn't your typical fallout experience. You don't have NPCs or dialogue, but instead get real players that should fill this void - that ultimately fails to do so. It does some things right, but as of now I cannot recommend getting this game as long as it stays a broken and boring mess that it is right now.

    Fallout 76 is the series’ Freshman introduction into the world of online, multiplayer games. As a result, we are experiencing all of the awkwardness and clumsiness associated with that season of life. It is imperfect and a bit uncomfortable, but I see opportunity for Fallout 76 to be more than it presently it - to be a truly great, rich Fallout experience.
