    The games cut scenes are like movie levels.
    Game play has a learning curve, but after unlocking more items and getting a hang of the mechanics, it opens up tons of ways to play it.
    And you would really appreciate a ladder or rope put by others when you are on a steep slope and carting a heavy cargo.
    This is the type of game i was looking for!

    I can understand that people are bored with this game, but it is a new genre. People are used to going fast from point A to B, finding 4 enemies and that's it. This game is attractive to enjoy the landscape, try alternative routes, help each other (connecting is beyond history).     Played this game for 12 hours so far. It pains to see that this game is getting do many 0s from most who didn't even play this game. Sure the game feels repetitive at times, but this is similar to euro truck simulator. It was received so well on steam, but this game is getting this hate because of the hype this has. Even without a good "gameplay" the visuals and story alone can give this 5Played this game for 12 hours so far.     Starting with the obvious, the game is beautiful. Characters and environment are designed wonderfully. Gameplay is smooth and understandable, the game guides you through the story, so you can't get lost.
    Movement of the characters is really organic, they move like a real person with weight and physical limitations.

As in every other game, the first part is for naiveté like you, to get you familiar with the mechanics of the game. Boring? It's in fact weirdly addictive and satisfactory. I give it a 10/10, not because I want to balance out the 0s in here, but because it breaks out of conventions that are what's really making most games boring these days. You are no longer challenging this guy or that––each trip is a challenge. Killing is no longer the way you approach another being––even the concept of killing is itself being overturned in the grand backdrop of Death Stranding. You are no longer alone, although so often you feel lonely in the game. As in the prophetic prologue quote from Kubō Abe, you are no longer holding sticks but ropes.

    I recommend this game, not just to niche players but to all who still love gaming. There are different ways to tell a story, and we do not need to limit ourselves to one.    … Expand

    If i have to rate any game from the first hour of it i would give death stranding a 10/10 , this game is just beyond all games in every possible way , if you just forget everything you've ever played before and try this one , trust me you would fall in love immediately , THANK YOU KOJIMA .

    Kojima has done it again. He brings everything from previous games and a compelling deep story and you have a GOTY contender. After the 8hr mark you start unlocking cool weapons!

    wow what a great experience. manage to convey a lot of emotions. The music and graphics are excellent. and as for the controls they transmit the effort that the character makes to move through this incredible world.

    To be honest is not for me either cause of not haven't so much action.
    BUT I love that we finally get a game that is different in the core itself.
    I love the story. I love the atmosphere of the whole game and the concept itself.
    It is a controversial game but I love to see something different than run and shoot.

    The game gives a completely new and incredible experience. Also pleases attention to detail. Designed landscapes, character animation, detail of the world, gameplay. Love the atmosphere and cinematic insertions. Hideo Kojima once again proved to the world that he is a genius!

    ons of mechanics, which are very intuitive to control and working like clock. I was optimistic, but that exceeded all my best expectations. Gameplay loop is so engaging that you literally forget its core is walking. You just need to play it and feel it with your own two hands, because YouTube videos don’t convey even the 10% of its fun.

    This game is breathtaking with its scenery and the setting from the very start is one of the most interesting worlds I’ve played in, if you want an easy ride then you’ll probably rate this a low score because people don’t like to actually try with games but if you like a challenge and a brain using game then you will love the gameplay thoroughly and get the most out of what it has to offer

    I honestly thought, because of all the mixed and horrible reviews, I was going to have mixed opinions of it. Oh my god it has surpassed even my expectations, that were already high! The first 10 hours critics were complaining about, I found very fun. Yeah they are fetch quests, but I never had so much fun doing a fetch quest! This is not a simple "walking simulator", it is an engaging, terrifying, beautiful and emotional experience. It is a refined Kojima game, at its best. I got the same feeling I did when I first played MGS back on the PlayStation, Where as that was a stealth game, this is a delivery game. However, where MGS stealth was straight forward, DS is so much deeper in gameplay. It i amazing how reactive the terrain is to Sam. I could really feel all of the obstacles you have to traverse through. The sound is amazing, and very creepy. The music is very serene and touching, matching the story very well. You can really tell that a lot of effort was put into the sound and music of this game. While people say it is a boring slow paced game, they are probably used to hyper fast games like Fortnite or Overwatch. I say this because I felt the pacing was perfect. You were given time to get used to the mechanics, and explore the world that is simply breath taking. There was lots of story and rest in between, and going to Sam's room always felt meaningful and welcome, after a long journey. This has been a needed breath of fresh air, as games have become the boring same old crap, that I feel like I have played the same game over and over. This gives me hope, that if successful, will inspire more triple A titles to take a chance on something new. The only downside I could say that exists, is that we are going to have to wait at least 3 or 4 more years for a sequel..... I really hope they release some DLC story content that fills in that gap. I am a Kojima fan boy, through and through, but I was still worried in the end that it would not live up to the hype. For me, it did that at the very least.… Expand

    I am only 6 hours into the experiance but I'm having a blast playing death stranding. I can understand why some people do not enjoy the core gameplay loop but I've been having nothing but fun with it. Just the simple task of finding someone's lost cargo and taking it to its desired location gives an awesome sense of accomplishment. This game isn't for everyone but it certainly is for me!

I can see how people may be turned off as I was at first, but just give it a go, I think you will seriously enjoy it.     Played 6 hours so far and I am absolutely loving it , the gameplay loop can be very addicting, the story is great and engaging and the game has very nice polish to it. It feels like something new and fresh altogether and the aspects involved about the MSG series are still here and improved upon.

    Dont believe who says its repetitive,its like every game. you do the same things,but upgrade each time and level up ,besides the story is amazing ,the characters are great,Sam is perfect,the world is amazing.the movement is fluid,The gameplay is something new(if you like shooting then its not for you),also you have to be patient .

    Original y diferente. Si no te gustan los típicos juegos de disparos y buscas algo que te aporte nuevas sensaciones y formas de explorar, te encantará. No es un juego comercial. Hay una cantidad de curro detrás de Death STRANDING, empezando por el diseño artístico, orografía del escenario y acabando con la banda sonora.

    Really good game , i saw many feedbacks from other people that “Game is boring - FedEx simulator” it is real , but you have to play at least 15-20 hours to understand that mechanics wound’t change , but variations and additional opportunities to play are huge , in my opinion graphic is very good, movie scenes and music are brilliant.     I think this is a great and unic game. It has great ideas and good working game mechanics. I love playing it. It's sad for me seeing all these bad reviews. I guess people expected something different. I get that this game is not for everyone but there were a lot of reviews from jurnalists about what to expect before the game came out. So I don't understand these people.

    I've been excited for this game since it's reveal and I'm genuinely having a fantastic time! It isn't for everyone unfortunately but it's extremely polished with 0 bugs so far. The 0 score reviews are trolls please ignore them.

    A lot of trolls in here, huh. These people probably own an Xbox One. Sad that Metacritic does not have some sort of verification system. Anyway, this game is one of those games that prove video game is an artform. So happy of what they made, the gameplay and especially the story.

    Great game dont understand the hate, the social systems really interesting the cutscenes and graphics are incredible and the satisfaction of achievement you feel after a long journey is something few other games offer, plus every piece of equipment you unlock makes you think of a different way to play

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Death Stranding is pure art. I got totally addicted to the gameplay. Kojima created a new original IP with gameplay that you never had before. This is game is not like any other one. It’s a realistic journey for the player. A journey that tells a deep intriguing story. A journey for your own mind aswell. Society today is so busy that most people won’t appreciate this game. It’s meditative, but also action filled gameplay when you meet the BT’s or other human enemies.     My overall rating is probably a 8 but I put a 10 to counter the undeserved 0's from the mentally ill fanboys. I'm assuming they are xbox fanboys. Warped individuals. All you can do is pity them really.
    The game looks amazing. Probably the best natural scenery ive ever seen in a game. The gameplay isn't for everyone but I'm enjoying it so far. It's a game that makes you think. Scrapping with mules, falling down mountains, clutching my breath as I try and evade BT's. O jogo te coloca em um estado de alerta total onde cada fragmento pode ser uma parte importante da história, somente a mente brilhante de Hideo Kojima poderia tramar algo de tamanha complexidade, não é apenas um jogo, é uma experiência complexa e profunda, apenas estou feliz de presenciar o nascimento de um novo estilo de jogo, obrigado!

Io sono contento che un volta che è finito nn mi diventa un lavoro per anni (tipo un wow o un rdo o molti altri che nn finiscono mai) .     A very different game that not a lot of gamers will like,so far I'm on third chapter and the game as it may be different it is enjoyable.Great graphics and if you really pay attention you can understand the storyline better.One of the best games I have played all year.

    Death Stranding is creating a new game genre and therefore paves its own path towards more interactive experiences. It is a brave work thanks to its novelty, which fortunately is not a bragging right for its creators, as it may have seemed, but an exceptional title that will reward the brave who play it.     This game does manage to be fun, even if it is one of the heaviest experiences of 2019. Everything from story to gameplay is begging to be dissected, filled with imagery and symbolism -- just like so many Kojima games before this one. Entering Death Stranding, it’s likely that we all thought Kojima’s calling card was lengthy cutscenes and stealth and action gameplay.

    Death Stranding stands as a powerful author’s game which drives a strong message of how our over-connected society is evolving, and how we can help other players. Unlike many AAA games, it shines on a truly spiritual level. Well written, engaging and visually magnificent, it offers, despite some pacing flaws, an astonishing solo game with elegant multiplayer elements. A unique representation of Hideo Kojima’s talent.
