    One of the most refreshing games I’ve ever played, started playing the moment it released at midnight last night & have played all day. It completely evokes the current cultural zeitgeist and has made me think about things in a different way.

    People have the nerve to complain about EA and Ubisoft pumping the same **** out every year and then when a truly original game comes along and challenges its audience you all cry about it. Sad!

    One of the best games that I have played. I prefer games that are more story focused. Some people may complain about the gameplay, but I personally don't mind it. The game handles very well in my opinion and the slow pace of it is very immersive to me. If you're looking for a story focused game with amazing graphics, characters, world, and soundtrack, I couldn't recommend this game more.One of the best games that I have played.     Death Stranding is a game that is, and always will be polarising. The 0 reviews are justified, unhelpful, but justified. There is very little combat, long cutscenes, and almost the entire game revolves around making arduous somewhat monotonous journeys to deliver parcels. If that does not sound like your cup of tea, you will not like this game. If you are easily bored, you will not likeDeath Stranding is a game that is, and always will be polarising.     There's no other game like it, both good and bad. Whether you'll like it has a lot to do with if you just enjoy doing things and challenging yourself to do it. Honestly I give it a 10 but can see why it's divisive. For me, though, it's the game I've wanted for a while.

    The story is interesting and engaging, the gameplay is fun and relaxing, I really enjoyed the experience and was really excited to see each turn the story provided. It was great, especially the hades segments.

    Fantastic and brave. What could have been simply a Fedex simulator is lush due to the "strand" factor that makes the world feel like it's expanding a bit more with every advancement and every delivery. What I found most surprising was not the level of details that Kojima infuses into his games (what you can pick up, animations and interactions) but more the cooperative factor from otherFantastic and brave. Placing helpful signs, cheering people on, leaving gifts...Seeing a new bridge pop up or pitching in materials to finish up a structure is fun and keeps giving you reasons to grab just one...more...delivery. The genius of the game is the zen like moments it creates (should you choose to embrace the atmosphere) and then the hard shifts when you're spotted by MULES or stumble upon BT territory and the ante goes up.

    Again, kudos to Kojima. It's not a "perfect" game. It's a brave game in a world that is ever tempted to give into producing the same old rehashed shooters and open world games that try to throw so much at you but never really make it feel like it mattered. Akin to popcorn Summer blockbusters. They're fun and necessary. But so are art house films that make you feel something deeper or remind you of why you love cinema (gaming in this case).

    You'll probably know if this game is for you by now. If you're just starting, get to Chapter 3. Echoing what other outlets are saying, things probably hit their stride there for most people though I found the early two chapters nowhere near as monotonous as people were saying early on. I hope to see more risks taken like this from developers in the future. This is the first game in the nearly 35 years I've been playing them since the early Nintendo days that reminded me that brave ideas make for the most memorable experiences.

    This game is an absolute masterpiece! I´ve not seen such a creative storytelling in a long time. Yes the gameplay may be slow but that´s exactly the point. You are supposed to feel lonely and helpless sometimes so you actually can appreciate any sign of an other player. I can´t understand all the negative reviews at all.     It's a very different kind of videogame : But IT IS GOOD. Level design is incredible, graphics are one of the best i've seen on a regular ps4. Gameplay is weird but very fresh, stealth parts are great and happen more often than I thought so. Cutscenes and storywise, it's going to keep you hooked.

    Its not your typical game where you feel instant gratification for just pushing the buttons in the right order. It can be boring, it can be tedious. But a mew type of videogame experience, and in my opinion, similar to watching an indi movie, or reading a good book. Hard to argue with the split reviews, you will either like it or you wont. And watching it is a good way to tell.

    The studio was formed 3 years ago. And in less time that many other fully formed studios, this company has put out a AAA title that has a way of playing not seen anywhere else. Ignore the Kojima cult, but also ignore the haters. Make up your own mind. I loved it. Hope you try it.    … Expand

    Odio cuando la gente se enfada y dice que es una película y que no es un videojuego, siempre he creído que un videojuego debe ser una película que no haga sentir, todas las emociones. La industria está llena de video juegos vacios.

    This game provides excellent gameplay, provided a slow burn, in the beginning, to set you in the mood. You have to start with this to understand what kind of setting to understand the game. After 2 hours(a short time) the game provides a myriad of mechanics and items to stretch yourself across the map. Death Stranding is one of the best games I have played ALL year of I hope you buy this game.

There are two things I don’t like about the game so far. The product placement is dumb and holding the triggers to steady yourself under a heavy load is a bit excessive. That’s it! The game is great minus a couple flaws that are easily ignored. Bottom line... I would suggest ignoring the negative reviews that have an obvious axe to grind.     So i love this game! It's not a traditional "game" that's for sure. The story is incredibly engaging, and mysterious in a way you'll want more and more. It definitely pushes the boundaries of what games and gaming actually is. 100% it's not a run and gun action game. It's definitely more adventure platformer, but even those genres are hard to describe this game.

    I give death stranding a 9 but i had to offset all fake hating reviews every one complains about wanting something new well here it it and its amazing!!!!!dont listen to these fake xbox dudes trying to kill this its really a great game and something different like no other game created!!!!

    Most of the bad reviews make it obvious that they played for a short time then came here seething. Once you hit chapters 3 and 4, and graduate from the most basic mechanic of delivery in the game, and pick up combat... it completes the experience. Then it gets even better with each part following. Shy away from the "OMG SO BORING" spam reviews. They didn't play the whole game.

    My girlfriend is really enjoying it, and I'm enjoying watching her play. Beautiful world, interesting soundtrack, chill gameplay. The story can be a bit hard to follow, but worth getting invested in. The pace reminds me of some of the quantic dream games. Not for everyone, but very neat to others.

How many times do we have to play a rerelease of far cry, call of duty, and Skyrim before we open ourselves to something truly new and different?     Just outstanding. Just perfect. I had my doubts, especially after the huge rating drop shortly after release. But death stranding is just extraordinary experience. Fantastic analysis of the most fundamental themes of human kind.

    The story and characters are super weird and intriguing. The world is incredible. The messages and themes to pick ap art are amazing and the cool game systems all work together to form one of the most unique, interesting, and fun experiences I’ve ever seen

This game isn't meant for everyone, like how Minecraft or racing games arn't made for everyone, but that doesn't mean it's a bad game. It's not about killing everything either. The game has you delivering cargo and gives you the tools to do so. But gives you the freedom to do it however you want. It's a true RPG in the sense that you role play as the character. You really feel the weight of each package you carry. Going from point a to point b may sound boring at first. But it's very engaging when you allow the game to put you in the shoes of the main character. I find it really cool how the meta game and multiplayer has everyone helping each other.     This is a thinking man's game , gameplay is amazing , music and graphics are very immersive, story is very intriguing and above all the strand system is a very unique and new concept , it is not a pew pew vroom vroom game so definitely may not be for everyone.

    I'm about 6 hours in and thoroughly enjoying the game so far it's pretty amazing. I'm going into this blind as I've never played a Kojima game before. The visuals are amazing and that's one major part of the soothing sensation it feels like a game you can play and enjoy when you don't want a constant blitz of action the type of gaming that you can just enjoy and let everything else melt away without feeling too stressed out about the next thing that's going to kill you. So far this is the type of game I've been looking for, for a long time something I can just pop into whenever I want and just enjoy a relaxing game with action in it. It's a game that will will be devisive some will love it some wont but this is honestly the first time I've played a game and thought hey this is game of the year worthy.     Exactly the game I was expecting, and i couldn't be more excited to play something different for a change. For years now I've wanted something to rival the experiences that MGS left with me. I can gladly and wholeheartedly say this is what I wanted and more. Super refreshing to have a change of pace.

    Changing my original review. I gave it a 4 to begin with. But the more I play the better it gets. Theres nothing like this, I absolutely love it! The game starts off very very slow and has a lot of mechanics at play that take some time to get use to. Everything is building up and up and up. This is definitely a must play and GOTY for 2019.

It was all I’ve ever wanted but never could have imagined such a concept and gameplay. Well, with death stranding I’m feeling very much like when I discovered the soulsborne games. It’s just one step ahead in every matter. Of course the graphics are pretty awesome, but what really flashed me was the gameplay. In all those years I’ve never got anything even close to that experience. It’s only my opinion, but this game has next level mechanics, incredibly precise, you just feel every step and move. That’s why it’s so entertaining to just get with your cargo through an area and you piss yourself when the BTs or Mules are coming. Because it’s not just running away like in every other game. It’s like running away irl, where you have to consider every obstacle. It’s **** goosebumps when the enemy is literally flying above you and you have to press R1 to hold your breath, move slowly forwards but consider the balance of your cargo, take care of your BB and think where is a good point to inhale again. And please quick, because the TimeFall is ruining your equipment. There is no other game like this, that’s why so many people don’t get it because they’re just watching it on YouTube and don’t get what it means to bring Sam through all this. A rare 10/10 for me, in a row with Resident Evil 2 and 4, Bloodborne, Dark Souls and Horizon Zero Dawn.… Expand

    Kojima has done it again. not only is this his first game post leaving konami and moving on from silent hills and metal gear solid but this game is balls to the walls increible and is a must play to any fan of kojimas work on the critically famed Metal Gear Solid frachise must play.

    Solo llevo como 4 o quizás más horas jugando al juego, estoy en el episodio 2, y la verdad es que estoy sorprendido con las historia que te empiezan a contar al principio, los gráficos, los bellos paisajes, y como no... el gameplay el cual hasta donde voy actualmente en el juego, es relajante gracias a los buenos soundtracks que empiezan a sonar durante un viaje, satisfactorio gracias a las mecánicas y animaciones complejas que tiene el juego, y mientras más te sumerges en la historia, más entretenido se te hace el gameplay y el juego, porque los npc que encuentras las paradas te cuentan su historia y te dicen que más gente te necesita, además de lo que te cuentan en la historia principal y etc. Pero si no tienes paciencia o simplemente eres de los que te gusta ir directamente a la acción como los juegos shooters online, rpgs, etc. Este juego quizá no te interese mucho... es más para la gente que tenga una mente abierta a la hora de jugar videos juegos, y que no solo se enfoquen en los mismo de siempre como lo acabo de mencionar.

    Todavía no puedo contar mucho, pero con el tiempo que llevo jugando, el juego me esta encantado, no puedo parar de jugarlo, es una obra única y inmensa que quizá nunca habíamos visto antes, (y eso que el juego apenas me llegó hoy), pero al parecer hay gente que no ve eso y simplemente le dan de 4 a 0 por que si (la mayoría haters), este juego es mínimo de un 8 a 9.     I have yet to completed the game, but I've put in over 125 hours, and I gotta say, "I love this game." You would think, a game where you deliver packages shouldn't be so engaging, but it is... oddly it is. The game play once you get it, is addicting. I find myself delivering packages, and looking to get a 5 star rating so I can unlock certain perks, which is cool. You start off walking, then riding bikes, then trucks, and so on... there's even segments that totally feel like something out of Metal Gear, which is something you'd expect from the creator Hideo Kojima.
    Would I recommend this game to everyone? Well, yeah... Death Stranding is a breath of fresh air in a stale game industry, if you ask me. That being said, I know its not for everyone... not everyone understand poetry...    … Expand

    Played it all last night and i'm really, really enjoying it. Everything about it screams quality. The musical score is superb, the voice acting is superb, and don't even get me started on the graphics, without doubt the best iv'e seen on a console, with top tier hdr implementation. It reminds me a lot of Shadow of The Colossus, which i also loved. Passing through a BT infested area is bothPlayed it all last night and i'm really, really enjoying it. Everything about it screams quality. The musical score is superb, the voice acting is superb, and don't even get me started on the graphics, without doubt the best iv'e seen on a console, with top tier hdr implementation. It reminds me a lot of Shadow of The Colossus, which i also loved. Passing through a BT infested area is both panic inducing and exciting and rewards with a feeling of accomplishment when they're successfully avoided.     I already played 8 hours and that game is one of the best games i ever played ! I put it on the Olympus with Red Dead Redemption 2 and The Last Of Us (for this generation). Thank you Master Kojima, can't wait to eat all the game! The story is deep and addictive !!! 10/10

If you're gonna play Death Stranding, then you'll need ample freetime and lots of patience. It's akin to Everybody's Gone to the Rapture or The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. They'll resonate with you even after 50 hours of gameplay.
    Dont know about everyone else, but me, the game was solid. Sure it gets tedious. But if you're a completionist and want to do every delivery there is, then of course it'll be tedious. Finish the main story first. You have time to do whatever after the game is over.
    Walking through scenic landscapes while planning routes , dodging BTs, soothing BB, navigating through the terrain with a low Roar track playing in the background is something else.
    The game becomes far less tedious as time progresses, literally. You'll see more and more ladders about the place, from other people. Helpful PCCs, charging stations for your bike and roads.
    I'd say in a weeks time, the while world will be populated enough.

    Why is it a 10? The gameplay is a refreshing change from the norm. At certain points it'll be extremely repetitive, at others you'll find a well done system of asynchronous online function that actually works, an unforgettable story, memorable characters, and a gameplay loop that has more depth than you'd think.

    Overall, definitely a game you'd wanna go back to, after finishing it.    … Expand

    A profoundly experiental game, that I would say one has to be in the right frame of mind for. I would even go as far as to say the right place in life for. For me personally, this game has had the kind of impact on me that only a few games have over the past 20+ years of gaming. This is a very special game.

    Me parece un juego brillante, la forma en que se conectan miles de jugadores, los terrenos, el desafio de que el peso y las mochilas no te estropeen el camino , me resulta un desafio, sabiamos a lo que veniamos, no es un metal gear, ni un call of duty , (llevan meses diciendo de que va) yo sin duda lo recomiendo, es un A TO B pues si un poco , pero la historia esta genial, enemigos ,Me parece un juego brillante, la forma en que se conectan miles de jugadores, los terrenos, el desafio de que el peso y las mochilas no te estropeen el camino , me resulta un desafio, sabiamos a lo que veniamos, no es un metal gear, ni un call of duty , (llevan meses diciendo de que va) yo sin duda lo recomiendo, es un A TO B pues si un poco , pero la historia esta genial, enemigos , flipantes yo sin duda y sin jugar a algunos MGS ya que no soy un Fan boy, estoy encantado.

    Death Stranding is creating a new game genre and therefore paves its own path towards more interactive experiences. It is a brave work thanks to its novelty, which fortunately is not a bragging right for its creators, as it may have seemed, but an exceptional title that will reward the brave who play it.     This game does manage to be fun, even if it is one of the heaviest experiences of 2019. Everything from story to gameplay is begging to be dissected, filled with imagery and symbolism -- just like so many Kojima games before this one. Entering Death Stranding, it’s likely that we all thought Kojima’s calling card was lengthy cutscenes and stealth and action gameplay.

    Death Stranding stands as a powerful author’s game which drives a strong message of how our over-connected society is evolving, and how we can help other players. Unlike many AAA games, it shines on a truly spiritual level. Well written, engaging and visually magnificent, it offers, despite some pacing flaws, an astonishing solo game with elegant multiplayer elements. A unique representation of Hideo Kojima’s talent.
