    I love this game. Kojima did a very insteresting game. The gameplay is yes limited but the story, the characters and the environment of the game are beautiful like i never seen before. Great job!

    I understand that the game would not be for most people but it's absolutely for me. I think it's unfair that the game is a 0/10. There are way worse and unpolished games out there. Just because a game isn't for you doesn't make it terrible. An amazing and immersive experience.

    Obviously people are review bombing death stranding. The fact there is reviews for this game the same day it comes out is complete BS. It’s a 30-40 hour game so what is happening is people are too dumb and impatient to give it a chance. This is what is happening to our generation. Now the gameplay if you actually take it in and give it a chance if f’ing brilliant on many fronts, Kojima not only just created a new genre but he also took every risk possible instead of crapping out a money grab of a game. It makes me sick to see this is what gamers have be come, short sighted, brainless involets with no imagination or appreciation for what video games actually are which is interactive art. Yes some will not like the gameplay loop
    If they have this instant gratification mentality and it’s fare to say, you know what beautiful game, I admire the risk and effort but it’s not for me but the insults and put downs of this game amaze me. I read one review that said the graphics are crap, obviously this piece of crap didn’t even look at the game because it’s a freaking fact it’s the best looking game ever made hands down on any console, there may be a PC tech demo out there that can rival it but unless your playing the game with composite cables and a boob tube if you think this game looks anything but completely out of this world stunning you need your GD eyes checked. I read many reviews of death stranding and the obvious Hideo Kojima jealousy and PS4, always making the best games, hate is thick as butter. I honestly think half the user reviews are by pissed of Xbox players who haven’t seen a half decent exclusive since freaking halo 2 Then we have the mainstream “game journalist” reviews which some granted actually played the game and gave it a fair score even if it wasn’t there thing, but then you have complete and obvious bumbling idiots hating on the game because it didn’t stroke there tiny brain, battle royale playing, call of duty shooting, SJW worshiping nonsense.



    Videogames to me is a combination of all the greatest art forms in our world, drawing, music, story, animation, acting. Over the years we have seen great games the combine these talents to create impactful works of art that river art histories greatest pieces. When I played Heavy Rain the first time it was like starring in the eyes of the Mona Lisa. Video games are the renaissance of the modern times. Don’t get me wrong either I totally play Call of Duty and really enjoy just plugging in and blasting my way to victory in a 10 min match, howeve it still took a team of multitalented artist and dedication to create even that simple experience.

    What’s my point? My point is every game in the past the pushed the boundaries of what had come before it, in the graphics, gameplay, music and story telling has carried video games from being laughed at by parents as a stupid toy to being inducted into art museums and treated as really art. This is what Death Stranding is, it’s the next level in video games pushing the boundary of artistic expression and imagination and combining all the forms of art to make an experience that will remembered as the catalyst that changed the way we look at video games. That to me makes this game deserve a 20/10 but at least a 10/10 Anyone who rates this game beneath that doesn’t not understand what this actually means. Look I am loving the gameplay, graphics, story, acting, music it’s all groundbreaking next level stuff but even besides that this is a declaration that video games do not need boundaries or rules, like art. If every game developer was as brave as PlayStation and Hideo Kojima we would have more great games then ever and some bad ones yes but at least they would be putting there true heart and soul into there work, not just trying to get in to our wallets. This is what death stranding is, it’s the Mona Lisa, it’s the Sistine Chapel, the pyramids of our time. I know that sounds really crazy but take a moment and think about it. I am no Kojima fan boy either, I have always respected him has a visionary artist but never really played Metal Gear. I loved what he helped do with Castlevania Lords of Shadow but that really it so this isn’t coming from a fan boy bias. What I will say is give it a real chance it is absolutely worth your money because we should support this in the industry. Ask yourself what you want from gaming? Do you want cash grab bull crap, loot crates, micro transactions and stale re skinned duplicates every year? Or do you want groundbreaking experiences that push the limit of the human imagination which will pave the way for more creation of great art.    … Expand

This game is nothing like I have ever played and I have not gotten remotely bored even once. The deliveries are so rewarding and tense. Gorgeous graphics and yea you are making deliveries constantly but it is fun and satisfying. The asynchronousPlease do not listen to the trolls.     Clearly a labour of love. It won't be everyone's cup of tea, but if you're a fan of video games you'll at the very least appreciate what this game is. Never been a huge Kojima fan but this is a work of art.

    It's finally in our hands! The mystery that surrounded this game for years was enough to warrant a full $60 price tag! Kojima went above and beyond with this game! WE NEED MORE DIRECTORS LIKE HIM! It's a slow burn, but definitely worth sticking through to the end!

    I mentioned in another review on google the tedious walking mechanics, lucky some of that gets fixed later on in the game + you get vehicles wich made the game fun from the unbearable long trips on foot. (WICH WOULD OF BEEN ALLRIGHT if not for this SWAY LEFT AND RIGHT mechanic, sorry i cant really get behind it, its TO OFTEN).

    But the game really shines at this asynchronous multiplayer, building the world for others and them for you. Seeing roads/bridges/ ladders when i revisit areea, that were previously empty. It's exciting.
    THere are a few issues about this mechanic however. (UNLESS I am missing some information on how it all works)
    I feel like the people who will get the most out of it are the folk playing in the first few weeks, the ones creating the world. After most usefull paths are built. new guys won't have what to really build or noone will be left in the game to reap their 'like' rewards.
    Tho i think i remember someone saying they decay with time? I hope that's true, otherwise this would be a problem.

    But it's also a solution for the guys having a hard time with it, the PIONEERS will build the path so that new players can have a way easyer time trecking the world.
    If i would score this game for more categories, it'd be as such.
    Graphics 9/10
    Gameplay mechanics: 7/10
    Content/stuff to do:8/10
    Story: 8/10 average sci-fi story, idk why people moan its bad, every game out there is the same, i think they just wanted more. but he is good at keeping some mystery
    Music: 10/10
    A-multiplayer feature: 9/10

    Now i will also score the game as it develops:
    Intro 9/10 (3-4h in)
    Post-Intro 6/10 (8h in)
    Mid-Game: 9/10 unlocking bikes/new areeas and a lot of multiplayer features. Plus more enemies and stuff to do while treking so its not as lonely and empty.
    Late mid game: 20h+ in, 8/10 to much drawn out questing that could of been cut shorter. Think is u get slightly addicted to doing missions, but also that ends up making the game feel drawn out, so at this point i just went for main missions only. (kinda like with MGS5's side ops that got eh after a while)
    Late game: 9/10

    Overall not bad, but not the masterpiece people claim it to be.
    But it is different and the ideea in it is not bad, maybe not done completely right. If some other company picked this ideea up/engine they could make some really cool stuff. This game is like a 'skeleton'.
    I WISH THEY WOULD OPEN IT TO MODDING COMMUNITY ON PC ! HI *waves* we can make wonders.

People can't give it it a 0 or even a 1, it's a 7 at lowest if you're not into it and a 9.5 if you are, but I'm rounding my score to 10.     Best game I’ve played in a long time, full of original mechanics and great game design elements. The story is unique and amazing. Not for everyone though, but this doesn’t take the credit nor make the game less valuable.

    I know this game isn't for everybody but I personally love it. I would say it is more of an experience than a game and I'm totally fine with that. The story is gripping, the graphics are some of the best I have ever seen on a console and the mechanics are great. I am wholeheartedly onboard!

    Fantastic music, cutscene. New understanding of gameplay, and connecting with other players is such a great idea. After 10 hour of playing I just finished the first two chapter, but I am totally inside the story. It's the game of year for me and I hope it will be. I am glad to have a chance to play such a masterpiece.

The graphic and landscapes are gorgeous, the gameplay loop is really relaxing, the story is fantastic and very different. The fact that this game exists and was published by Sony should already by a reason to hail it, but it truly is a masterpiece from Kojima's master mind.     Es un gran videojuego. No es común, no es un shooter ni un battle royale.
    Se tiene que jugar sin espectativas para disfrutarlo y vaya que la recompensa en enorme.
    El juego te invita a ser un jugador que colabora con los demás y a mantenerte en paz y sin prisas todo el tiempo.

    Los diseños son para quitarse el sombrero (grande Shinkawa) y está presente de nuevo el gusto por el detallismo extremo . Es curioso lo que sucede con los paisajes en este juego, y la sensación de tierra primigenia y mundo limpio que transmiten.     Gran juego, que lamentablemente como intenta hacer algo diferente termina siendo criticado por los mismos que compran cod y que solo ven al gta como juego para atropellar putas. Las mecanicas de balanceo con el peso son increibles, te metes en el papel del personaje y sientes que pisas en el mundo apocaliptico del death stranding

    O melhor game que joguei este ano até o momento. Não terminei o game pois o lançamento dele foi ontem, e só joguei 8 horas do game e estou encantado. Como a galera pode dar nota baixa se foi lançado ontem? Esse site deveria ter uma forma de dedectar pessoas mau intencionadas para prejudicar as vendas de um game, por outros gostar de outra plataforma e nem ter jogado o game.

    Jogo extremamente inovador e original. Nada como isto até hoje. Gameplay interessante e curioso. Traz uma nova linha de pensamento a todos os jogadores por aí fora. Gráficos excedem as expectativas e trilha sonora linda e tratada com cuidado e carinho. Volto a dizer, nada visto assim até hoje. Poderá não interessar toda a gente, mas certamente que me interessou a mim.

    Amazing game! I’ve been playing for 6 hours and the story, the graphics are unbelievable. It’s true that the gameplay it’s not the best, but neither was heavy rain or Detroit become human for example, and those are great classics

I Love the Art to Play online, with and without other players. Helping People and get help in difficult situations. Im very happy, That this fantastic game was createt.     Игру проходил на сложном уровне и не почувствовал некого дискомфорта , если изначально все продумать и не делать поспешных решений и действий , то играется очень приятно (даже на сложном уровне !)
    Музыка :10/10 ( всегда играет там    Игра от Гения получилась достаточно гениальной , с первых минут мир DEATH STRANDING завораживает своей красотой . Геймплей удивляет на протяжении всей компании .
    Игру проходил на сложном уровне и не почувствовал некого дискомфорта , если изначально все продумать и не делать поспешных решений и действий , то играется очень приятно (даже на сложном уровне !)
    Музыка :10/10 ( всегда играет там где это нужно )
    Боёвка : мне зашла , но можно было сделать немножко хардкорней

    After 15 hours of gameplay all i can say is this is an amazing game, kojima did it again, every detail in this game is absolutely fantastic, the soundtrack makes the game feel so alive like you’re inside it, i can’t stop playing it... i absolutely recommend it 100%, you can’t go wrong with this game.

    This game is not for your average gamer who sits around playing fortnight or cod. This is a experience. If you want something truly different then this is your game. Take your time, explore and take in the world of death stranding.

    No voy a hablar de los gráficos, ni de la historia, pues creo que no necesita presentación y creo que estaréis conmigo que te atrapará desde el principio, sino del gameplay.

    En las pocas horas que llevo de juego puedo que Death Stranding es un juego acerca del camino. Acerca de cada paso que das. Puedes pensar que quizá "no pasa nada" porque en juegos de mundo abierto lo normal es que hagas muchas cosas, muchas tareas y pegues muchos disparos, pero seamos realistas: lo normal es no dejar de darle a la x o al R2 dependiendo del vehículo, llegar a un destino, disparar, y volver a darle a la X o R2 de vuelta. Si, pueden pasar muchas cosas pero la acción del jugador, el uso del cerebro se suele reducir a esto. En Death Stranding algo que antes resultaba tan simple como cruzar un río, subir una colina o andar por piedras exige pensar. Exige ser cuidadoso. Exige estar al tanto y no poner el cerebro en piloto automático.

    Los enfrentamientos con el enemigo no los vas a resolver tampoco simplemente disparando a lo loco. Bajar de una montaña con carga hasta arriba tampoco. Elegir los encargos tampoco. Ayudar a otros jugadores se convierte en una motivación. Empezar un nuevo encargo es tener la incertidumbre de no saber qué te vas a encontrar, e ir bien equipado para hacer frente a los enemigos es menos importante que saber por donde ir.

    Pero Death Stranding también sabe sacarte de ese momento de tensión regalándote momentos mágicos, donde de repente el camino se vuelve llano, sale el sol, y empieza una música maravillosa. Una vez más, Death Stranding es acerca del camino, tanto para los momentos tensos como los momentos de paz.

    Sinceramente, le he otorgado un 10 sin terminarlo porque me veo en la obligación de equilibrar la balanza ante tanta persona que ha venido a destruir un acercamiento diferente a los videojuegos. Un visión más propia de un artista que de un hombre de negocios. Death Stranding no es para todo el mundo, pero eso no quiere decir que no sea un juego increíble: independientemente de que te guste o no tanto, Death Stranding es el recordatorio de que los videojuegos son arte, son visiones de creadores inquietos, el trabajo de personas que aman lo que hacen, y por eso, con tanta IP repetida y reciclada, DLCs y Pay to win, es algo que merece la pena aplaudir.    … Expand

    Best game I’ve played in a long time. All I can say is somehow Kojima has made something so boring as walking into something interesting and addicting. Obviously that’s not all the game is though there is a great story along with all the games mechanics.

    Death stranding takes like a 7 to 8 hrs to get started, but after that it's story and gameplay progress faster.Its soundtrack is amazing along with many of other songs.It has 14 chapters and an epilogue. And grqphics are great too.

    Many (but certainly not all) of the people giving negative reviews seem to be hating hardcore on Kojima rather than the the game itself. Many obviously haven't played more than a few hours (or at all :/), and as such, are probably not the best people to listen to.

    I can understand how one might be disappointed if they were expecting a Metal Gear Solid clone, which I think is why many people are disliking it. They were expecting another MGS like game, while in reality, DS is much much more. It is a different game entirely, and they shouldn't be "hating" just because they failed to realize this.

    Single handedly the best game of this generation. Kojima has mastered his craft with an unfiltered look into a post apocalyptic America. It's dark haunting and beautifully crafted. Don't let the review bombing scare you away from this uniquely genre defining game. Highly Recommended

The game feels like No Man Sky's(post next update) and sorta breath of the wild but with unique immersive story. I've never played a mgs game nor do i have any personal bias towards kojima as a creator here is what I think so far.

    the world building concepts seen in the trailers intrigued me and I liked the soundtrack from the trailers so I decided to give the game a shot. I'm about 18 hours in and I can say that it feels very polished and deliberate in what it does. The world from the tech to the clothing and environments are very detailed and well designed makeing this abstract world feel as close to real is it can. The game looks amazing on my 4k set up. I personally find the games themes compelling and I like the art direction and cinematography it's going for.

    The dialogue at the start is exposition heavy and tries to hammer in some terminology that is import to understand for both game play and story reasons but that's to be expected from a game so reliant on building up its world to Immerse the player. I think some people will enjoy this type of story telling but others will be turned off by all the scifi speak and might feel the game comes off as pretentious. I personally am a fan of these type of abstract metaphorical concepts in story telling so I am really appreciating the world building and the themes it's trying to get me to think about by putting me in Sam's shoes. Voice acting is very good as are the animations the writing can feel a bit odd at times and I think this due to the way words with multiple meanings are conveyed in English vs Japanese but overall its solid nothing I could really complain about.

    The game play I think will be a subjective point to most especially those who where lead to expect a more action oriented mgs approach to combat. Going in I expected this game to play sort of like a stealth horror game and to some extent it does. From a game design perspective horror games benefit from making the player feel limited that sense of limits adds tensions to situations by pushing the player to make use of their limited resources to overcome great odds. This is why the older residents evil games felt so much scarier than the newer action heavy entries. Death stranding is limiting in a lot of senses and I think that may put some people off but for me this creates a game of optimizations and efficiency. Since you have limited weight you can hold you have to plan what tools you can bring on your your journey. You plan out paths, set up bridges, ladders and ropes to make future travel or return paths more optimal because due to time fall you wanna limit cargo's exposure to the elements as much as possible. All the while the actual traversal requires you to constantly be micro managing your pathing over beautiful deliberately designed terrain to ensure you are not wasting unnecessary stamina or going over risky terrain unless it offers a notable shortcut. I personally find this game play loop engaging and the promise of eventual upgrades like cargo capacity upgrades and the ability to build highways for my vehicles to quickly go over problematic terrain has me excited.

    If the game can deliver a satisfying conclusion for its characters and world I will be able to say this is a game that does a lot right in my book but I think what people take away from this game will vary a lot depending on the person especially if they go into this game expecting your average third person open world game play loop. I don think it would be fair to ever call it a "bad game" by any means though from a pure game design perspective it has everything a core game play loop needs but it is by no means done in a traditional manner and that just wont appeal to everyone but what it does do, it undeniably does well.    … Expand

This is a revolutionary sci-fi movie that uses the gameplay to enhance it’s theme. It teaches you to think of others and help them out. I had fun building things for other players toI’m going to give you the real deal for this game and why I think it’s a masterpiece. If you go in thinking you’re going to have “fun” in the traditional sense of video gaming, you’re going to have a bad time. This is a revolutionary sci-fi movie that uses the gameplay to enhance it’s theme. It teaches you to think of others and help them out. I had fun building things for other players to use. Most people who are giving it low scores are judging it as a video game, not the immersive interactive cinematic experience that it is. I love the movie-length cutscenes, and thinking about the overarching themes behind the game. Give it a chance, you may love it or you may hate it.     This game does manage to be fun, even if it is one of the heaviest experiences of 2019. Everything from story to gameplay is begging to be dissected, filled with imagery and symbolism -- just like so many Kojima games before this one. Entering Death Stranding, it’s likely that we all thought Kojima’s calling card was lengthy cutscenes and stealth and action gameplay.

Unlike many AAA games, it shines on a truly spiritual level. Well written, engaging and visually magnificent, it offers, despite some pacing flaws, an astonishing solo game with elegant multiplayer elements. A unique representation of Hideo Kojima’s talent.
